I love this bar! They have fun oversized outdoor games and fun theme nights. The bar crowd is everything from college kids to middle age peeps. Great vibe. On rare occasion you get a bar tender with better looks than skills but I feel like that's standard for most bars. Worth checking out. read more

Decent drink specials but service was horrible. Just because they have boobs doesn't mean they can actually wait on customers. Had to ask for everything repeatedly, including napkins and condiments to go with meal. Staff needs to realize they are there to serve. Bartenders were arrogant. read more

I have been going to this dive bar since March 2015, tonight I walk in at 5:25 Jan 1 2016. Got out of my Lyft ride to the bar, the girl behind the bar said we don't open till 6. I said no problem, at 20 minutes till 6 her and the red head manager are outside smoking as I wait for Lyft to pick me up and go to another bar, 2 other customers walked in while I was there, and left cause she said we don't open til 6. Lmao the owners really don't care about what the bartenders do, normally you can get a drink cause they are on the cell phone! Lose a 100.00 dollars business 5 nights a week adds up. This place looks like a dive bar(picnic bench seating, bar inside and out, etc.), but don't let appearances scare you off. The food is tasty! It is bar food, but even the fried stuff was good. Nothing personal, man. This place just isn't my style. The bartenders were friendly, and I was able to take advantage of my first check-in offer which I chose to be a Miller just to be on the safe side. It's like this place doesn't know what it wants to be. A bar yes, but it has like BBQ joint tables. Ours particularly had several penises drawn on it. They did play a variety of music to cater to everyone's tastes, which I appreciated. I just get frustrated by places that cannot balance the volume of music with the size of the establishment. We were a party of 3 but I couldn't hear what my girlfriend right next to me was saying to the other member of our group! This joint seemed to be filled with frat-boy lookalikes and insecure 20-somethings slathered in makeup. If you don't care about cleanliness, having any sort of semblance of a conversation, and are there just to ogle then I think you'd like it here. And the cherry on top - Over half of the parking is valet only and it was $10. Are you serious? This place is anything but swanky and trendy; Why the hell would anyone valet park their cars here? This was my first time at the Hangar, and I sat down and ordered water with my friend. The bartender who was a blonde woman decided not to serve me and my friend because she assumed we were drunk. My friend and I had a conversation about a time we had when we were drinking. She overheard and decided not to serve us without even saying one word to us. We walked in, sat down, and ordered water and kept to ourselves. She would not serve us because she said we were drunk. I was absolutely disrespected and had horrible service. I must admit that I'm a frequent visitor to the Hangar because of its close proximity to my house, and yes it is a lot of fun there. I'll continue to go there, but I'm writing this to inform the uninitiated about the little nuances there. First, I'd suggest paying cash. The bartenders are notorious for scamming patrons paying with credit cards, and this lack of integrity continues with getting charged different prices for the same drink on the same visit... So double check your tab! Also they tack on an extra fee when using credit. Second, apparently there's an unknown dress code, depending on how drunk the bouncer is that night and what he feels like enforcing. On one visit, I wasn't allowed to go back into the bar to close my tab (had left for 20 minutes to go across the street for a drink) because my shirt (the same shirt I'd been wearing all night while at the Hangar) was "too long". I pleaded my case but the large, intoxicated bouncer (I saw him@the same bar across the street taking shots of straight Jameson) was beginning to look irritated so I decide to not push the issue and made an extra trip the next morning to retrieve my card...of course with an added fee for failing to close my tab at the end of the night. I'm not looking to bash the place for the sake of talking trash. I have over 10 years experience in the service industry, and I gladly look past a lot of things because I understand that people have bad days and things happen. But when an establishment consistently fails to hit the mark on one aspect of service or another, it motivates me to educate consumers about what they're getting themselves into. Cheers! read more

I love this bar! If you are looking for a laid back, unpretentious place...this is it. Good drinks, great burgers, Jenga!, beer bingo. It's just a good time. Parking could be better and the music can be a bit loud for conversation, but other than that this is my go to bar for guaranteed fun. read more

Bartenders weren't very friendly if you're a girl. If I sent my boyfriend he got way better service. They made it difficult to redeem yelp offer of free appetizer... Manager gave me advice on how to make it easier next time. I should have gave her advice that she shouldn't make it hard to redeem or she wouldn't get a bad review on yelp. Alright, will never bring my business here again. My husband called earlier this week to see if ufc 203 was showing at this location. Whoever answered the phone told my husband that they would be showing the ufc ppv on the night we were inquiring about, and there would be a $10.00 cover charge. Based on the information that was given us we invited a party for about 25 ppl for my husbands birthday. Upon arriving to the hanger we ask the door man if the ppv was on, expecting that it was. Well, to our surprise we were told that no ufc ppv would be on and that we had been misinformed. We asked to talked to management and even offered to pay for the ppv even if it was shown on one tv. Nope!!! They tell us in order to buy it we would have to pay 1000 bucks. This was not our fault, we went through all the proper channels to make sure this event was going to happen and we were just dismissed. Thank you for the misinformation and ruining my husbands birthday. I'll never being my business there and I'll make sure that my party hears this story. read more

I rarely write reviews but I am just amazed by this establishment. I like to enjoy a drink after work every so often at this bar because it's close to home and they have an outside patio and I can bring my dog. Well, everytime there's a bartender whom I learned is a manager as well, heather, who is just super rude for no reason. Its very clear she prefers male guests over women but making me wait for ever when she can clearly see me just to keep flirting it's just plain rude. Not only that I was there about a month ago, opened a tab with my card but paid cash at the end of the night. Well, checking my bank account today I noticed a $60 charge. I called spoke to Heather and told me I had to come in. So I did. I wanted and waited all for her to have the most annoyed look that she had to deal with it. I finally had it and took my card back and left. I will never be back and would advise that if you see her working you walk right out. I am also in the industry and I have NEVER acted this way towards my guest. Also pay cash. Your card will be charged even when you're not there. read more

The hanger is a great place to eat when you're waiting for the rain delay in your Aggie football game to restart . We tried out the lemon pepper chicken in the spicy garlic chicken wings and they were both delish. We ended up ordering another 18 lemon pepper wings just so we could get some more of that goodness. The wait staff was very kind and courteous and had a very good memory for orders. The prices are very reasonable and there are no shortage of television screens to watch your favorite team. It may have been a little loud but that normally doesn't bother Aggies. read more

The biggest,best burgers & fries in San Antonio!

Was here tonight for drinks- which I had none. The bar tender over charged us $40 for shots that we didn't order. Ordered 3 the first time, another 3 the second round, 2 the third, and 2 the fourth- all in all 4 different kinds of shots and 10 shots total. On the bill she charged us 14 shots total and her reasoning behind it was because there was 4 of us so she charged us 4 shots the first two rounds and 3 the last two rounds. The bill showed 14 shots total- 7 of one kind, and 7 of the other. Except we ordered 4 different kinds of shots... She then proceeded to tell us that she's not the one who has been drinking and can recollect what shots were ordered- basically calling us liars. Will be calling the general manager tomorrow and reporting to better business bureau. Will never come back nor recommend this place to others. Never over charge your customer and then call them liars. Have called manager three times and he will not return my calls. Horrible service and horrible bar tender. Cannot believe the service here. Save yourself and never go here unless you want to be called a liar and over charged. read more
