A bit dingy, the Harbor Hut is located on the water of Morro Bay and has a great view of the water and if you're lucky, otters! Our waitress was great and made sure to check up on us and made sure we felt welcome. The food was pretty typical Central Coast fare. My sister got the clam chowder and bread bowl and loved it! My other sister got the fish platter and I got the prawns. Over all the food was good but I'd like to point out that there is a difference between fried and greasy. The double fried French fries were crispy and great taste, the battered fish was just greasy. Also, if you're like me and popped in because it says "steak" on the sign please be aware that steak is only on the dinner menu.

Side of shrimp? Or is this Shrimp Scampi??

Great service, nice atmosphere, but the food needs work. 1) Shrimp scampi: rating 1/10. Disappointingly small 5 shrimp on a plate. The sides took up most of the plate. So essentially I paid for a $32 plate of veggies and fried potato cake with a side of shrimp. See photo of my plate of sides. 2) Pacific Red Snapper (Cajun spice), veggies and mash potatoes. $32 Rating 7/10. 3) Clam Chowder: $12 bowl. Rating 2/10. Oddly off tasting. Not sure how you get that wrong around here. 4) Fish & Chips: Rating 8/10. Hard to get that wrong. It was pretty good. $25

Probably the best restaurant in town. Hands down did not disappoint. Dylan was an absolute hospitality legend. Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was comforting. Recommend this place 10/10! Hope to come back again soon!

We really enjoyed our lunch, my favorite part was the spicy jalapeño , filled w cream cheese, slice of ahi tuna? It's been a minute since we were last here. I also had the crab sandwich on croissant roll, it was filled with cheese and shrimp Simple's yet delicious. Nice place w views of the Rock, our server Rafa was very attentive. We are creatures of habit but I think I'd want to try something else soon. Love food

The service was excellent. During our seating had a number of people check in with us to see if they could do anything else. Hubby had the fried seafood platter which he loved. I had clam chowder and crab cakes. The clam chowder wasn't as hot as I would have liked - but I was hungry and didn't want to send it back. The crab cakes were crispy, light and really tasty! Had a nice crunch from all the panko.

This was a place to walk up to order and they give you a pager. The fish and chips were good. The malt vinegar and salt came in small packets. That's not my favorite. The fries were crisp. They had free refills on drinks. We ate on the patio overlooking the harbor. This is a nice place for tourists.

Harbor Hut is a favorite when we're in Morro Bay; this is not our first time. The fried options are very good. The salmon is a 4 out of five, but skip the pilaf for another choice. The clam chowder is also a favorite. There are very many things I would avoid, but the bruschetta is one of them. I mean, why would we expect good bruschetta at a seafood place? Soggy bread, little to no olive oil, just not good bruschetta. I'll rave about the oysters though. If you live then on the half shell they are big, tasty, a not overly priced. The view is amazing!

Very expensive and food came cold! Maybe we should have told the waiter but the wait was so long we ate it.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

The weather was a bit foggy so we couldn't really see the rock anyway. We had the Burrata appetizer, along with the local oysters on the half shelf. There's no dedicated parking but there's plenty of street parking around the area. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building with windows facing the ocean, so the name was very fitting. A lot of the seats allowed guests a nice view of the outside/ocean. We were able to get a window seat and was able to enjoy a nice sunset view and take lots of photos by their balcony area. We ordered the halibut, black cod, cioppino, dungeness crab cake, mixed greens and all the dishes were all decent but I can't say I was blown away by any of them. The dishes were on the pricier side as well. Overall the service was good and they were attentive with checking in on us and refilling the water. The only surprising thing about the place was that there was an additional 3% fee on credit card transactions which they apparently indicate on their menu (which I missed), and the waiter didn't mention either, so I was taken back when I saw it on the bill. While I understand they're trying to offset their costs, it is pretty rare these days and I wish the waiter gave us a heads up. Overall, the view was great and the food was decent.
