I have to echo the other reviews pointing out that this is the place in Logan Square for watching sports. Really, the only other spot in the neighborhood is Logan Bar and Harding has better beer and a better menu of food. This is a smaller place though, so if you're trying to get a table when the Hawks are in the Stanley Cup or something you might be outta luck. The service here is pretty good. Stopped in last night with a friend for cocktail and dinner. I sampled the portabella sandwich and it was quite tasty. A little spicier than I anticipated, however, I am a tad more sensitive to spicy than most. Staff was very friendly. The bartender accommodated a special request not found on the menu, which is always thoughtful. Also, the server was able to accommodate a dietary restriction for my dining partner. Overall, it was missing the "wow" factor upon first impression, but it certainly offers plenty of reasons to return. Interested to see how this place continues in Logan Square. However, I'm guessing by now they have their act together and probably do have brunch. My wife had a salad. She didn't really like it. It was weak on ingredients. Crap lettuce. The Harding Tavern, I love you! You are a consistent, rock-solid friend who will always be there for me. This place checks off a lot of boxes for me: Right next to the Logan Square Blue Line. I get off here and my husband picks me up. Some nights he'll be running late or I'll be running early so that means a welcome visit to THT. Red wine on tap. Yup, that's right. This means a big pour and an extra almost fizzy, but not really, kick to my vino. I've never not liked what they have on tap either. Awesome fries. Amazing burgers. Did I mention the buffalo wings? I love those too. Shaved carrots, spot-on sauce, and blue cheese crumbled over the top. Nothing bad to report. The staff is awesome, and I love that I can just come here and chill. 3.5 Stars! Heard THT finally opened and scooted over for lunch since its uber close to work. Lovely long dark wood bar with about 13 seats and whoa 4 tv's! So im getting the vibe that its a taverny/sports bar. Ok. If i was any form of sports fan i would i care...but i dont. Since it was lunch midweek the vibe is laidback and kinda quiet patron-wise. They have a good craft beer list ie Skull Splitter scottish ale, Breckenridge Vanilla porter. Too bad i couldnt have one since i had to return to work afterwards. Plus i had their wings. Why oh why would i order that if i couldnt have a beer with it! (*kicking myself*). So i will have to return for happy hour sometime. Their Chicken chopped salad was good with alittle mexican twist. It had some tomatillo, pumpkin seeds, cotilla cheese and pastilla vinaigrette ( kinda sour and smoky, cant say im in live with it but interesting). Their Thai Wings come with lime, chili sauce and green onions. Hmm wings were deep fried well however they didnt have much flavour and the sauce was pretty loose/watery and sat at bottom of bowl. Came here after trying out the new tiki bar in Logan Square. I'm not a big beer drinker but those who are have told me this place has a great beer selection. It was a slow night so getting a table was easy. Our server, Whitney was great. She was very helpful with recommendations. I got the THT Burger and it's probably the most flavorful burger I've ever had. The meat is garlic infused and it's served on a brioche bun. The outside is perfectly charred and the inside was still juicy. How could I forget, it comes with bacon, brie cheese and an herb aioli. My friend had their classic Burger which was equally delicious. It's a great spot and I'm definitely looking forward to tasting their other offerings. read more

Went for a second visit a few days ago to make up my mind after hearing some mixed opinions from friends. I've concluded it's a pretty decent place to grab dinner and have a drink. Will the food blow your mind, probably not; it's a small menu with some classic bar food as well as some pasta dishes. I've only had the burger, and it did the job. My only gripe is that it does not come with fries, I'm not a fan of ordering a full plate of fries for myself. The beer list looks quite large and the Old Fashioned is a bargain. Again, pretty standard stuff. The space is actually very welcoming, bright with a classic bar feel, lots of wood and bronze and a chalkboard add a bit of nostalgia. Plenty of outdoor space as well. The staff is always friendly and attentive and willing to offer suggestions. All in all a solid addition to Logan Square. read more

Why bother? The bussers here are awful. The kind who must be bored as shit bc they come by your table nonstop & interrupt your conversation to demand your empty glass. One was snarky bc I got water on one of their paper menus. The female waitstaff was friendly & the music was good, so I wanted to like this place. The thing is, it's poorly laid out. It feels uncomfortable. Way too loud for that small of a spot. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. Beer selection is standard. Maybe if we'd sat on the patio it would have been nicer. Maybe this place is great on slow weeknights. I don't know. I would rather check out other spots than risk coming here again. By the way-- Don't bother checking in on yelp. The Harding Tavern is definitely a 4 star restaurant. I don't want to give it lower than that, but truthfully it's nothing to write home about. The beer selection is always pretty decent, no complaints on the alcohol front. The food is pretty good, but truthfully I think there are better places to get a burger. My partner and I typically stop in here for a quick drink on a lazy weekend afternoon, and then that's about it. The food is average - nothing I would go out of my way for but hey, it's close and I don't have to. I'm only giving three stars here because of the sneaky hidden costs. They use the same exact menu for lunch and dinner. During lunch, their burgers are served with fries. During dinner hours, the fries magically disappear. Logan Square was missing its "Cheers" Bar (where everybody knew your name...and -more importantly- they're SINCERELY always glad you came). Free of pretension - full of good tunes and food. You can get a table easily, the menu is diverse but not annoying, the severs aim to please, (and in the most genuine way!). Shout outs to Santana (who knows how to craft a great Manhattan), and the other female server whose name I've since forgotten who made blue cheese stuffed olives for my martini. (Because some nights call for high maintenance martinis even thought that's slightly embarrassing to admit). If I could change one thing it would be more cherries on the Manhattan garnish. Boyfriend and I ordered the THT burger for pick up and for $12 something & we were NOT impressed. I asked the girl behind the bar whom I placed my order with to please cut it in half and until I got home I noticed that didn't happen. Don't go here. There is so many better places to eat in Logan square. The cocktails were just alright and the food; I really don't get all the positive stars on the food. The THT burger was disgusting and nothing spectacular, the Scorpion wings were too hot and there was no soothing kick to mellow it out after the harsh bite, and the THT fries were shoestring fries that tasted like nothing with a bunch of bland sauce on top of it. I will not be returning. The food was at best ok! A bit overpriced for what we ordered. What made me give them 2 stars is not the food but the horrible service. Our server did not check up on us, a party of two, a single time. It took us 30 mins to get the attention of our server after we were done with our dinner. People love to complain about the stupidest things! It's a No Nonsense, low key Logan Bar with great food and it actually plays sports on TV! Thank You THT! All u whiny Hipsters stop your beefing and keep moving to the next bar down the street, especially on a Friday night when a big game is on. Order the THT Burger, which now comes with fries. Good call from the management. And good selection of Beers but slightly inconsistent with some of the cocktails. But that's pretty much everywhere you go when different bartenders are making drinks. My friends and I wanted to find a place to have brunch and watch the Bears game. I found this place in Yelp. Overall, the drinks and food is really good. It is not your average bar food at all. I had a bloody mary which was really good. We shared the shrimp appetizer which was delicious. And we all had the burgers. Really good! My only gripe is that the burgers had several hard chunky pieces which I assume was gristle. I had to keep spitting into my napkin on the sly because I refused to chew or swallow. Very gross! The impression that I did get is that it's a bit on the tiny side (which is fine, but from the months or years of waiting for it to be built, I assumed it was MASSIVE.) The chicken sandwich on pretzel bun is delicious! The bun is more like a hot dog size bun and the chicken breast is flattened and seasoned well. The sandwich also comes with avocado, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, honey mustard and cheese melted on top of the bun. For something lighter try the Chicken Pita Salad is really an open faced sandwich with a flavorful moroccan aioli. The setting is welcoming and the beer list is vast. Enjoy ridiculous 90's music and non-overbearing TVs. The Grilled Portabella Sandwich is HEAVENLY. No sandwich has ever melted in my mouth so deamy-like. The only thing I regret are the THT fries. They sound so good on the menu, but rather than listing "bacon" - as one would expect chunks or at least visible pieces of bacon crumbles - they should call it "bacon dust" or something, since I'm pretty sure all you get is a single ground-up piece of bacon powder somehow. You can sort of taste the essense of bacon, but you'll be disappointed if you actually wanted to taste it for real.
