    Shepherd's Pie
    Jerrick C.

3.9/5 Solid pub! Came here for dinner and got a beer plus some Shepherd's pie. The pie was pretty darn good! Not the best Shepherd's pie I've ever had but it was solid and flavorful. For dessert I got the sticky toffee pudding which was lackluster: kinda dry and the ice cream and butterscotch sauce on top were nothing to write home about. The service was fast and friendly and the vibe inside was ok. Extra points for having a small parking lot! Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5

The batter was kinda burnt and made it taste bitter and the fries warm and tough.

Note to the owner manager kitchen whatever be sure to check the quality of the food before you send it to a table and don't put the paying customer in the awkward position of having to send it back. You don't want negative reviews have better quality control. Period.

    CHICKEN CURRY

We came here based on the review ratings. The place looked pretty good, like a proper pub, but the food was mediocre at best. Way overpriced for the quality of the food. The chicken curry tasted microwaved and lacked flavor. The naan was basically a cracker. The service was fine and the beer was cold but that's about it. Come to drink and watch a game, skip the food.

So tasty! I ended up here for dinner last night before attending an event in Roslindale. I have been told the vibe was pretty good and it's not every day you find Scottish food in Boston. After learning what haggis was made of, I decided to go for the fish supper. It's been a minute since I've had fish and chips, and the fact that this dish came with mushy peas sealed the deal. We started with the scotch egg and I had a native lager on the side. I'm off the deer train, but they sell deep fried Mars bars.. yummm Service was nice and attentive; we sat at a high top near the bar. The place was comfortably crowded and had a very nice atmosphere. I would say I don't make it to JP all that often, but I've been there now twice in two weeks so I don't really have an excuse to say I'm unlikely to return to the spot in the near term.

Nice local pub with a Scottish theme. All the faves. The fish and chips were 5*. Fantastic Scotch selection. The Scottish, Irish, and British beer selections on tap are stellar. I'd come here anytime to watch a soccer match.

Hospitality: A++ Knowledge : A++ Smiles : Always Food quality : A++ Decor: A++ Whisky tasting : Best in New England maybe!!! The only place where I happily always order the Scotch Egg first and then look at the menu. Jason is always welcoming and fills one and all with so much warmth!!! Always trying to be back. Always leaving happy!

Stopped by The Haven for dinner on Sunday night! We were immediately sat and walking inside felt like I was teleported to a tavern. The ambiance of the place felt very relaxed almost like a background a bar in a game. I got the Fish Dinner which came with one fish, mushy peas, and potato wedges. The fish was a little bland and the batter was thin, so it got soggy fast. Service was very friendly, but a bit slow at times despite being relatively empty. I'd come here for a casual drink, but not for a meal.

Great ambiance , food and drink selection . Poached eggs cooked to perfection. Scottish sausages not overly greasy. Curt but cordial service.

They have Belhaven Scottish Ale on tap. And if you happen to visit in a day when they're out, they have it in bottle as well. BOOM.

I was able to get a table and put my bag down for a nice lunch. I ended up going with the reuben and fries. With the heat and the muggy weather, I didn't want to go too heavy with food or drinks. The reuben was one of the best I have ever had. Toasted perfectly and the corned beef was very flavorful. I opted out on the kraut since I'm not a big fan and it was still great. The fries were incredible. They had a homemade taste and you can tell they take a lot of care into their food. It sounds funny but, you can also tell a place is gonna be good when they have the quality ketchup. It really was great. The vibes in here are immaculate if you love that Irish pub, old school feel. Not only was it that, but it also felt modern and clean. I wanted to go back the next day for more. This is a spot I will always stop in for a drink and probably more food whenever I am in Boston.

The atmosphere was lively, making it a fun place to catch the games. They also had a solid beer selection, I went with a Maine Lunch IPA. If you're looking for a casual pub to enjoy a beer and watch soccer, this is a good choice. Cheers!

One food menu was available in a wooden box by a pillar on the bar. Nothing really caught my eye. My SO ordered a local draft and I went for a water and coffee. Although they make adult coffee drinks, they do not offer espresso drinks. The interior is upscale casual. Plaid carpet, a mix of booth and table seating. Dining areas are on two levels behind a staircase down to the restrooms. Dining is also available in the bar area. The menu includes British fare and other more local items. I find a British themed restaurant, in Boston where Patriots plotted rebellion, a bit humerous. None the less, it is a comfortable spot for a meal, snack or drink.

I would avoid the coconut lychee margarita though. Those flavors combine to give it an aftertaste similar to disinfectant. The food was okay but nothing special. Wings were a little over cooked. Fish was a little undercooked (big piece of fish for fish and chips and the batter was still pretty soft inside.) Chips were good though. Pretzel bites I would probably avoid as well. The brownie desert was tasty and more than enough for our party of 5 to split. The place is huge with plenty of seating at the bar or at tables.
