My Husband bought me a facial and pedicure here for my birthday and I couldn't be happier with my experience! Largely thanks to Lauren who did my facial and Bella who did my pedicure. Lauren has a very calm energy about her that was easy to pick up on and helped me to relax quickly, she also knows a variety of massage techniques that she used throughout my facial that were very enjoyable mixed with the skincare. Bella was very friendly and went above and beyond to do did a great job on my nails. After she had finished I took a little tumble on my way out the door messing up a few of my toes and she was quick to get me back in the chair and get them fixed up. You can't tell even tell I messed them up and I've gotten several compliments on them already! Would highly recommend Lauren and Bella if you're planning at booking with this Spa! read more

I stopped coming here for a couple of years because the front desk lacks professionalism and attention to detail. They also attempted to charge me for a glass of wine they forgot to bring and on another occasion the glass of wine that came with my service package. Not to mention my massage just wasn't that good. I decided that today I would start off my long bday weekend with a 90 min massage and I would give this place another shot since so much time has passed. This time around my massage was great. I have nothing but praise for my massage therapist. Once again however, the front desk failed to deliver. The waffle robe that was provided had a dirt scuff on the belt and was so thin and see through you could see my areolae and tattoo. I went and sat in the waiting room for my glass of wine that for a 3rd time never came. At the end of my serves I went to pay and asked the front desk girl to make sure I was not charge for wine she never delivered. Her response "the charge is not on there" (or something to that effect). She did not offer up an apology, no acknowledgment that she forgot, no accountability taken at all. A small acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Front desk needs to take a little more pride in her work and hopefully throw out those ugly shoes that were loud as heck as she stomped across those hard floors read more

I visited Highlands Day Spa in Post Falls. During the visit, there was a disagreement about billing. While I stated I was willing to pay, the owner told us we could be accused of "theft of services." I tried to clarify the charges and pay for the service, but the conversation escalated unnecessarily and felt confrontational. Being threatened with a criminal accusation during a routine billing discussion was surprising and very uncomfortable. Before booking, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about pricing, policies, and charges so everything is completely clear. If the owner would like to review the audio recording of the conversation and resolve the situation, I would be open to discussing it. I hope the business improves how customer concerns are handled in the future. The owner was very rude on the phone enforcing a policy. read more

THEY'RE GOING DOWN HILL FAST The entrance & front bathroom was muddled with debris, paper & garbage. There were many walls with chipped paint & the cleanliness in general was lacking. My friend & I both booked a mani/pedi. We spent $140 each but the sauna is only available for customers who want to buy a facial or massage, unless you want to spend another $15 + dollars. Both our tech's seemed to be fresh out of school. My friends manicure had to be fixed at home & both our toe nail polish was not great quality that we took off later that day. I tried showing the cashier the spillage of gel polish on my friends hand as we checked out, she admitted it was below their standards but didn't offer to do anything about it. The lights are so dim it's impossible to check the quality of work on site. The choices of colors was sparse and there was no real organization with colors/numbers of the selections. When we chose a color, after several minutes of both techs searching high and low, we were told sorry that seems to be out of stock. My tech stopped what she was doing to check her phone twice, and really did not know how to give a good service on either mani or pedi. Also, she continuously interrupted my friends & mine personal conversation with her own thoughts or ideas. We tipped because we are decent people but sadly, this was a complete waist of money & time. A friend and i booked here because the reviews looked amazing. Sadly the Cda spot was completely booked. The postfalls location was our only option on short notice. Beautiful views and very nice staff. However, the pedicures were not worth the amount we paid. I left with dirt still under and on the sides of my bigger toes. My friend pedicure was suppose to come with a callus removal but they were out of the solution. Yet they still changed her full price. Booked two stress reliever massages for myself and my mom yesterday. It was the best thing I have done. Was it a bit more pricey than other massages I have had? Yes but it was absolutely worth it. The steam room to use after was great, the whole layout of the spa was incredible. Kyra at the front desk was very helpful and made the entire experience enjoyable. Anton and Ryan were the massage therapists and I could not recommend Anton more. I'm a body builder and he went deep on the spots I needed but it was so relaxing. My mom had nothing but amazing things to say about Ryan. We were there pretty late in my opinion but they don't close until 9pm and we didn't feel rushed by anyone read more

I visited the Couer d 'Alene location with my friend. I cannot remember the name of the woman who massaged my friend. But my friend said she was good for her first time massage experience. The pleasant lady that massaged me was Misty. For a tiny little thing, she sure packs a punch! I've had many massages, she's definitely one of the top I've had. She's very knowledgeable about anatomy, she gave me a few easy exercises to open up my shoulders better, and just overall does an excellent massage. I have a favorite therapist and when I do get to see them I always make clear of my medical conditions not expecting anyone else to remember them. After sending two messages and an email with no response, my honest review follows: We visited your CdA location yesterday for 2 heavenly pedicures. A few things I need to share from the customer's perspective . My technician, Megan, was wonderful and kind. But...the second technician had no idea how to do the pedicure or operate the chair/footbath. Megan was continually having to teach her. While I appreciate her kindness, it was not a relaxing time. I'm confused why someone would be assigned to us that wasn't trained properly. A big burden to Megan and very disruptive. . The hot towels the untrained tech used we completely stained with brown hair dye. They looked dirty and extremely unprofessional. . The ambiance of the pedicure spa area appears unfinished after leaving the beautiful waiting room. It felt more like a cheap quick nail salon. I paid $210 for the 2 pedicures with tips for both girls. Really not a spa experience. We're locals so it was a real bummer. read more

I scheduled my mom, who flew in from out of town and I at this business for a special birthday celebration. Even though I booked early in the month, the specials weren't available at the time of our appointments. I've was not told in advance that this was a possibility. We were celebrating her 70th and my 50th and I wouldn't have left anything to chance. We were told that the facial special I booked was not available about an hour before we arrived and decided to proceed. After the facials or was pedicure time- the pedicure was already underway when we were told the package I booked was unavailable. We were not given the chance to cancel this service. The gal doing my mom's pedicure said, " this is more of a day spa, so it happens." We skipped the gel polish to avoid an extra charge when we were already unhappy. One of the gals kept asking questions of her colleague as if she were a student. The owner claims this was my lack of planning- and due to my confusion. She said the extra beverage provided and that the rearranging of things so that my mom and I received our massages in the same room, as well as the gals that gave us pedicures staying late for a polish (which we didn't care about- or again, asked about) was her staff doing everything they could to accommodate. One of the massage therapists talked about an old client in an identifying way (HIPPAA anyone?) and also brought up "peeing when you sneeze". She told me "I'm going to bring back two towels to cover you, because we're all different sizes" Because I needed brought to my attention that I'm not a size 0?? This is not a high-class spa. I gave a credit card to hold my bookings. They should've held the products I booked. We should've been told about the facials more than hour before the appoinmentd. . And the pedicures shouldn't have been started without our knowledge that the booked service wasn't available. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Inadequate inventory. Prioritizing packages to walk in customers rather than those who have reserved services, and starting a service without full disclosure. I spoke with the "owner" she refused to refund me the $519 cancellation fee and says I'm banned if I dispute c the charge. I will not support this business ever again and caution you against it. What an amazing experience. My boss surprised me with a trip to the day spa for massages and I am so blessed to this moment. I have been to Fleur De Sel - the restaurant right next door but never to the spa. It is exceptional. We had to change our appointment time a couple times to match our schedules and the staff was super accomodating. Walking in the serene atmosphere is pretty irreplaceable. It is like you left the outside world behind and just get to RELAX. It is so necessary to find what self care means to you and roll with it. We each got a 90 minute massage. Sarah, was incredible. Not only did I get an amazing room with the view of a lifetime, but she did an awesome job. I have had some hard core chronic pain in my hip and she relieved some of that tension and the rest of my body. It is no joke when you are in control of how the massage goes. Don't go here!!!!!! They didn't honor the price that they quoted me. I showed them the message I got saying it was $230 but they didn't care and I ended up being told I owed another $275 on top of that and a threaten to be put in jail if I didn't pay the remaining amount. Also the lady I called to make the appointment with didn't put my card on file. When I have full proof of calling and giving my card. And showed the message I got showing the price I was originally quoted. They acted like they didn't mess up and I was accusing them of lying. I don't yell or get nasty. I ended up booking a 30 minute massage today because I had left work in tears from being in such pain from a previous car accident years ago. My appointment was at 5:30 PM and I sat and waited in my robe as people walked by me over and over... no one came and got me so I asked someone at about 5:45 what was going on. By the time my massage started it was 5:55 and by the time I checked out it was 6:11 PM. I felt like no one cared about me at all. $72 later (I did still tip because things happen) but I won't ever go there again and I used to like that place. read more

It's rare to give a business a two star review. When my friend and I arrived for our spa services it was disappointing to see what the Ladies lounge looked like. It was so dark, small and what they would call a changing area was just a curtain in front of a shower stall. After changing into a very thin waffle material robe we were taken to a room for our massage and foot bath (which we thought was going to be reflexology). The room was bright from the sun coming in and the massage table where the portable ones. There was Zero spa ambiance. No water element in the areas that we occupied, no aromatherapy. Then the final disappointment was to be seated just within 10 feet of a public pizza place where we observed minimum of 8 people going in and out. We were in the robes and sandals and again Zero ambiance! We brought our experience to the attention of the women with the blue hair and the two others behind the counter and basically we heard them laughing and was told that they were going to build a wall next to Embers on the Green. My friend felt bruised the next day and my massage was fine. Huge disappointment and felt the it was a total waste of our money. They canceled/lost our appointment?? My wife is pregnant and could really use a good foot massage so we were looking forward to this for weeks. She booked a couple's appointment for our birthday over a month ago. She then called one week ahead of time to confirm and they did confirm the appointment and the person even recalled that she is pregnant. We showed up and the receptionist said she didn't have any appointments scheduled at that time or anything under my wife's name. No emotion whatsoever. She has obviously had to tell people this several times because she seemed numb to the exchange. There are several other reviews that had similar situations. Very disappointed in this salon, made two appointments for massages one for myself and for 17yr old daughter. Appointments were at different times. The receptionist would not allow my 17yr old daughter to get massaged with out myself in the room. Even though we have been there numerous times and have never had an issue. She drove out of town to come to this appointment just to be turned away. Called to other places and was told 16 and they need a parents signature not a parent in the room. Train your staff better. I received a gift certificate and fortunately was able to use it within a month. The spa is on hill with a beautiful view. (Apparently it's hard to find with Google maps so I received directions from the receptionist.) I went a little early and had my first steam sauna experience. I enjoyed it most when the steam machine wasn't on. It was extremely hot in there and felt like my nose and mouth were burning when I inhaled. I don't know if this is normal or not. They provide flip-flops, a towel wrap and robe to wear in the spa. They have lockers for your clothing and purse, with a key that you can wear on your wrist while you're receiving your treatments. I received a full body exfoliation and massage. It was the Kiwi scrub which smelled and felt great! The instructions by the Tech were clear and complete. After my shower it would have been very nice to put on a dry towel wrap and robe. Mine were still very damp after the steam sauna. read more

I booked a half hour massage during my honeymoon and went in for the appointment only to be told by the mildly creepy massage therapist that I was " late " so I only had 23 minutes left since they start the service at the time of appointment regardless if the client is present or not . I wasn't informed of this before so I said I'd rather not pay full price for for something that I'm not getting so I'll go ahead and leave . I got dressed and left and emailed the owner about the way the situation was handled and she could not have been more of an idiot about the situation. Just said I should come back when I'm back in town . Not something I would ever do / let alone pay for so - She's clearly clueless how to run a day spa or just doesn't care ? Today was my first time at the spa. The two employees that I met were very nice and attentive. The pedicure and manicure pre treatment / before polish were okay. The nails didn't turnnout looking professional at all. I was not happy with how they turned out. It really looked like a small child painted them. They were uneven, not enough coats, she put sickers on them and they started raising up, and several bumps and smudges on multiple fingers . To top it all off the nail polish unfortunately on both toes and fingers were messed up even more by the time I got into my car. I felt rushed out at the end of my appointment... even though she said it would take apx 30 minutes to dry. I spent (wasted) 100 dollars on nails that I already had to take the polish off within an hour after having them done. I'm pretty disappointed. I thought a spa would offer a much more professional outcome than a normal nail salon. Unfortunately not... I think I will stick with a normal nail salon in the future. read more

Just a heads up - don't consider your online appointment confirmation e-mail to be an actual confirmation of your services. We learned this lesson the hard way. The confirmation e-mail doesn't really confirm anything and your services won't be booked unless you initiate a phone call back to them. Huge bummer! read more

Clearly a relaxing spa experience is not a priority for this business. I went for a massage and was put in the room adjacent to the steam room. Though my massage was great (thank you, Holly), EVERY SINGLE TIME someone entered or exited the steam room the door creaked like a haunted house and jolted me out of my relaxed state. When I checked out, I told the manager about it. She said she would get someone to fix it and then proceeded to charge me the five dollars that my certificate didn't cover! Really?! They canceled the massage only and said we are welcome to continue for just the facial. Since we declined and wanted it all in the same siting , there was nothing they could do to make it right. No discounts, not squeezed into the schedule, or put on a wait list, not even an apology. We did get continually interrupted by the manager on the phone, then avoided for 4 days by the owner. The owner later admitted she was there during our initial call , but didn't have time to deal with us. Just an FYI, called to see what services were available during the pandemic, and the receptionist said all. I asked about COVID protocol, as it would be for my mom who has asthma and um the pandemic, and she told me they have zero protocol in place and no mask mandate. The receptionist seemed shocked I would ask such a thing. She did say you could wear a mask if you wanted, and some therapists are willing to wear them but "most" of their therapists have a "condition" where they can't wear a mask. Hard to believe. Prob would be a great place to go if you were looking for a little covid to end 2020! read more

My brother and father purchased my mother a gift card here for a certified massage for her birthday in November. I don't come into town very often and we decided we would go together when I was in town. My mother pulled out her gift card and realized it expired 6 months after the purchase date. She was nervous and I told her that any spa in there right mind would honor it. Plus, 6 months is an estremely short period of time as far as gift cards go. I told her that if anything they would make her pay the difference if prices have changed. Nope Apparently not. We called over there and my mom asked them if they would honor it. The receptionist said "no" and that the computer automatically kicks you out after 6 months. She was telling her that the only way you could redeem it was if you were being deployed, medical reasons... blah, blah, blah. That is absolutely none of their business and completely invasive. My mom asked to speak with the manager and receptionist said that she was the manager and there was nothing she could do. I am an Esthetician from Seattle and have worked the front desk at a spa for more than a year. I was absolutely horrified that they would treat a customer that had ALREADY paid for a service so awful. We will never visit their spa, nor will we buy gift cards from here. Please consider our disappointment when buying gifts for holidays, birthdays, etc and skip this place. I would also think twice about getting any service here. If anything were to go wrong they probably wouldn't work with you. If they won't work with someone who has already given them money I would be very cautious. Overall experience was good. I do not want the front desk service experience (3 star) to effect the Foot/Body massage (5 Star). Prior to coming to the a couples massage appointment, I tried calling four times and left a message on the last call hoping to get a return call. When walking into the Spa shop, I had mentioned to the front desk gal that I had tried calling four times and left a message. She then said "well I am the front desk attendant" and then proceeded to ask for my name and completely avoided the situation. She did not apologize or try to be understanding but only was snooty about the careless response while making no eye contact. As a "5 star High end" spa, the front desk is lacking simple basic customer service and how to be professional towards their guest. Our masseuse actually made it more clear and gave us understanding that they have only ONE phone line and that the front desk ladies also have to walk the guest back to the bathrooms and help customers as they walk in or on the phone. That could have been the same response from the front desk gal and we would have been understanding. Instead she gave short responses and no eye contact with a snooty remark. Our two masseuses Brandon & Laura was able to provide a great experience for my boyfriend (His first time getting a massage) and I (First time at Highland). At the end of the massage, I had asked where we put the tip and they directed us to the front desk, also where we pay for the massage. We had completed a couples massage $220 and they were running a Santa Baby package at $200. I told her it was supposed to be the Santa Baby package and that I had the receipt if needed. Her whole demeanor and attitude changed like it was a hassle. During that time, my boyfriend gave extra money to tip in cash and the gal looked at us as if we were doing something wrong or as if it was a burden to give more, put her hand on the cash and looked at us like we were in the wrong. it was a generous tip amount. It was awkward and very unprofessional. The Front Desk gals need more training on how to not give Resting B**** faces and at least pretend they enjoy their job . They are the Beginning and the End of your Guest's experiences which should be a main focus. Overall no complaints for the in between experiences. This was my second visit to Highlands day spa. My first visit was with three friends and it was nothing short of amazing. This visit did not go well. My therapist Debbie was 15 minutes late in getting me started for my treatment. I thought no big deal she'll just add the additional 15 minutes to the end of the appointment. She rushed through the first half of my appointment applying the scrub and wrap rapidly. My last experience was nothing like that. The scrub and wrap are supposed to be an extension of the relaxation similar to a massage. The massage was not great. She did a great job on my neck, shoulders, head and arms but the rest was not good. She then ended my treatment five minutes before the originally scheduled treatment. This meant that my 2 hour treatment was now 1hr and 40 minutes. I went to the front desk to check out and provide my feedback. After I provided my feedback, unbeknownst to me, Debbie was in the linen area behind the desk and heard my feedback directly and came out. In a defensive manner she raised her voice said "I have back to back massages and I did the best I could." I said "I understand and I'm sorry that that's the case for you. That doesn't change the fact that I paid for a two hour treatment and I only received an hour and 40 minutes of it." She yelled "I am sorry you felt cheated" and slammed the door. Not the best way to end what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. I will say that the receptionist was incredibly professional. She made notes on my chart of what transpired to ensure I wouldn't receive Debbi again. They did discount my service which I appreciated. When I paid with my credit card, I looked at the receptionist and said "I am so sorry. I have never left a massage and not tipped but under the circumstances I just can't." She was very supportive and replied "of course." I felt it was important to write this review so no one else has to experience what I experienced last evening. It's a lot of money to spend and it should be the most relaxing experience possible. That being said I will absolutely be back to the Highlands Day spa. I think they have a great service I think I just was unlucky yesterday and received a provider that wasn't so good. I know that that can happen anywhere but it's important for the spa to know when their masseuses are not up to their own standard. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend, so I was looking forward to going. Upon arriving, I mentioned it was my first time there, but there was no, 'welcome to Highlands, this is what to expect' ... etc. After asking where to go next, I was told to help myself to the coffee, tea or water. The coffee wasn't very warm, and the canister was out of teabags. My friend had told me that they also offer wine during the experience which was not something that was offered to me. OK. So, I sat in the dark, outdated waiting area which lacked any type of spa ambiance. The music was dreary; it actually felt sad. My massage began 5 mins late ... and ended 5 mins early. The masseuse (I won't mention names) was very passive aggressive and actually said a couple things that were rude. There were a couple of times I thought about leaving because of the comments from the masseuse and the feeling that she seemed irritated. I was so thrown off by the whole experience. In conversation with the spa manager later, she did not ask me about my visit, so I asked her if she would like to hear about it. When I described everything, she offered me 50% off of my next visit which I highly doubt will be happening. Oh, by the way, be prepared to walk upstairs on your way to your 'relaxing' massage.
