I've been here twice now, and and it's been great! The host & servers are very friendly and the food was awesome. Somosas were great, Had Lamb Korma which was very good, my girlfriend had chicken Korma the next time and it was fantastic. Chicken Tika Masala was very good, also. The Naan was warm and very fresh and soft. The chicken Jalfrezie is pretty spicey hot, but really good if you are looking for some heat. read more

Loved this place! So glad I have an Indian/Nepalese restaurant to visit in west Dearborn now. The dining room is now open so we decided to give It a try. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They checked on us multiple times. We started with the Samosas. Fried to perfection and very flavorful. We also ordered the butter chicken and the chicken tikki masala. Both delicious. We prefer dishes made with chicken breast so these were perfect. The sauce was rich and aromatic. Perfect dipping sauce for our garlic naan. Overall a very heavenly experience I'd say. Most definitely will be returning. read more

Himalayan Flames is a great little Indian/Nepalese place on Michigan Ave. I really wanted to give 5 stars but I just couldn't because I was pretty put off by the back entrance. Currently for whatever reason the front entrance is not in use (maybe due to Covid idk) but the back entrance is a shared entrance with some other businesses and when you walk in the public bathrooms are just to the left of Himalayan's entry door and the smell is just what you'd expect from say.. a gas station bathroom. Not what I wanna smell when walking in for dinner- even the curry can't cover that up. Ok, so now for the wonderful stuff!! My niece and I both ordered the mango lassi. This drink is so good, very smooth and not too sweet; but it will fill you up quick so be careful. We ordered the usual mix of naan breads (our fav was the garlic) and had a couple of samosas to start. For entrees we shared four dishes: lamb shank (yum!), butter chicken (my nieces fav- I think it's a little sweet but it's never my favorite), goat biryani (my fav), and chicken korma (Hubby's fav). My husband has been wanting to try this restaurant for a while - I've been putting him off. We went tonight, why did we wait so long?? The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. We have enough left over for dinner tomorrow. If I had a criticism, I would say that the service was a little slow- but the food was worth the waiting. We will definitely be going again. read more

My boyfriend and I visited here this past weekend. We were searching for somewhere that offered something different than our usual choices, and he stumbled upon Himalayan Flames. We were a bit skeptical on our way into the restaurant, but our minds were changed quickly! We ordered two different appetizers, two entrees, and two different bread options. EVERYTHING was bursting with flavor and tasted like it was cooked with SO much love! Everyone we encountered was helpful. This experience was a great example as to why you shouldn't always judge a book by its cover! Excellent. Some of the best Indian food we've had in metro Detroit-with an attractive, clean interior as well. We started with the chicken 555 and naan and then had Shahi paneer and Nepali chow mein as our entrees. All were excellent and we would order them again. The portions were a nice size and reasonably priced. Hopefully they'll have more Nepali food in the future and we were told they will start serving momos soon. Incredible. We came here based on yelp and we feel like it was dumb luck. The chicken 65 app was easily one of the best things I've ever eaten in my entire life. The chicken was so tender and had such good flavor. The butter chicken was excellent. Everything we tried was 10/10. The prices were reasonable and the service was amazing. I was in the Detroit area and found this place as a recommendation from a coworker and it didn't disappoint. When I visited their air conditioning was broken and I really am not a fan of heat, but the food was that good that I'd do it all over again. I had the lamb vindaloo and added the soup and naan. Everything I had was great - had me sweating even more than the lack of air conditioning! The lamb was perfectly tender and the naan was great (as was the soup).
