I have ordered take out from here twice. The first time I ordered for myself and got 1 roti, 1 lachha paratha, the veg dum biryani, and the lamb curry. I think the price for the roti and the lachha paratha is on the higher side. I also think I liked the paratha better at another Indian restaurant down the street. The veg dum biryani is a really good portion and has a lot of flavor. The lamb curry is also really good and comes with a side of basmati rice. This isn't advertised on the menu which is why I had ordered the veg dum biryani. The second time I ordered for myself and another person. I ordered the veg dum biryani and the lamb curry again and tried the garlic naan and the classic butter chicken. I liked the garlic naan better than the roti and the paratha, but I do think that the naan is equally pricey. The classic butter chicken is really buttery but I wish the chicken was slightly softer. Also I don't recall the amount of lamb in the lamb curry the first time I got take out but the second time I wish that there was more lamb in the lamb curry and more chicken in the classic butter chicken. read more

What a gem this place is! Attentive, prompt service from pleasant staff. But then the food comes....and WOW. Everything was just about perfect. The spices are high quality, the gravies are smooth, rich, and deeply colored. The only small criticism I have would be that I'd like to see the dishes served in metal pots to help keep them warm - our food was cold halfway through our meal because the serving dishes are wide and shallow, so they cool quickly. We will definitely return for this yummy treat again soon! read more

Went here on a whim after the new year - figured it wouldn't be too busy since not everyone was back from their vacations yet. I was right! The restaurant had a few parties when I arrived, but service was very fast. I got some free veggie soup right after being seated. I had a mango mojito (virgin), cheese naan, and the Malai kofta. Everything was very fresh tasting and delicious! The best Indian in the area without a doubt. I will certainly be back with friends. read more

Wow, SO delicious! We've had great Indian food, but this just might be the BEST! We are in town visiting from SoCal, and went to Greenfield Village, and stopped here to get Chicken Tikka Masala, butter Chicken and the cheese naan. The portions are rather small, so make sure to get enough food, and know it's worth it! read more

We went around 2pm after the lunch rush. I got the Avocado Jhalmuri for the appetizer and it was delicious. For my entree I got 4 Piece Adraki Lamb Chops with Cheese Naan. Let me tell you it was so good. The Smokey flavor was perfect and not too overbearing. Jesse our waiter was great! I would def recommend this spot for anyone wanting something new. The food here seems to have taken an alternative form: samosas look like they have been sat on and disappeared into the chana, okra has been flattened into a shape resembling cut snow peas. Went here on a Saturday as my wife and I were craving Himalayan/Indian food. The restaurant is located in Downtown Dearborn with plenty of parking in a lot behind the building. The restaurant is extremely clean with a nice quiet decor/atmosphere. The waiter we had was extremely friendly and answered our questions about the menu. We started with samosas which were really tasty served with a unique delicious green sauce on the side. We ordered plain naan and their eponymously named naan which was stuffed with chicken and cheese, both were fresh out of the tandoor and delicious. My wife ordered the Methi Malai chicken which is one of their specialties, it was absolutely delicious. I've never heard of it before, but we will definitely get this again. I fancied something spicy so I went with the chicken vindaloo; it could have been spicier, but it was full of flavor. Also of note, both our dishes were chock full of tender delicious chicken!! Some places skimp on the meat. This ISN'T one of those places. We were so full after half our dinners we had to get some take home containers. I'll tell ya, we've tried just about every Indian restaurant in metro Detroit and have been disappointed far more often than not. Of all the Indian spots in the metro Detroit area, these guys do a great job! Some items are spicy but not overbearing. The samosa chaat is great! The gobi manuchian is also very good! The biryani is okay. Their naans are great! We have tried the cheese naans and the garlic naans. We ordered take out, portions were a good size. Delivery was within a reasonable time. We asked for gulab jamun and they ran out, so they gave us a few and also threw in some kheer which was nice. I would come back and try more chaat like items. I've never dined in here but the food (takeout) is amazing! Everything I've had is absolutely delicious! I order directly off the menu with no changes/specifications so I'm unsure if you can customize spiciness levels. It may be worth asking about if you're extra sensitive to spice. Over the past couple months, I've had the Himalayan Flames Naan, garlic Naan, vegetable korma, aloo Gobi, shrimp jalfrezi, and samosa chaat. Everything was superb. My partner recently moved to Wayne, and while unloading, I was craving Indian. Found this place and put in an online order for pick up. So many amazing paneer options, which was great for a vegetarian like myself. Everything we got was tasty, but the creamy paneer dishes, especially the fenugreek one, were to die for. I wish they had included some tamarind chutney, and my mango lassi was in an odd styrofoam container that spilled all over on the way back to their place (instead of a cup, like most to go places), and there wasn't an option to dictate spice level, which were my only complaints. Whoo hoo!!! It happened! The experience I await whenever I try a new restaurant. Flavor FIREWORKS in my mouth. Himalayan Flames definitely made it happen! They were no where near short of flavor in any dish, actually a tad saltier than I would expect. I've enjoyed plenty of good Indian food options in Los Angeles, New York, the Uk and YES India! Nevertheless this was by far my best Indian / Fusion experience in Michigan so far, after 3 years of searching! I ordered Garlic naan, Saag paneer (spinach and cheese), Avocado jhalmuri (very interesting, yet fun appetizer- highly recommend to try at least once), Rogan Josh (lamb), and the Goat afghani. I'm so full, and satisfied. I shared with my mom and we still have some to enjoy for later. I love leftovers so I'm really happy with their portions sizes! I'm ecstatic to have this tasty new option close to home! In addition, with their vast menu I have much more to look forward to and explore! The food here wasn't bad but I've had a lot better. I always try the butter chicken whenever I go to a Indian restaurant because it's a pretty standard meal and easy to compare. I thought the butter chicken could've had more flavor. The garlic naan was amazing, it was perfectly warmed up. I also tried the chicken 555 and chicken 65 both were good in its own way. The spice level was very low to me, it would be so much better if they could've made it more spicy like we've asked. It's a pretty safe and lively environment for all different age groups. The ambiance inside the restaurant was set according to the origin of the restaurant(southern/central Asian style.) As for food, it was pretty good. Nothing that separates it from the rest of the Indian restaurants. I ordered 3 dishes. These dishes were pretty popular in other restaurants( shrimp curry, lamb curry, butter chicken.) I would recommend lamb curry over the other ones because it tasted better. One thing that struck was the name of the restaurant... "Himalayan flames." The origin of the food should have some Nepalese dishes, but I did not find any Nepalese dishes that I would find at other restaurants. read more
