My friend and I came here to try their home made cinnamon rolls, and going in, we knew we were going to have to get there early. We arrived around 8:30am on Saturday and there was a line out the door, but it moved quickly. We ordered two cinnamon rolls, a chai and their cereal milk latte. Updating my review since I finally got one fresh and piping hot. We were picking my friend up for a road trip down to DC and decided to meet at The Hive. I got on the line at around 7:55am and there were maybe 13 people in front of me - on a Saturday. We picked up 3 cinnamon buns and I had an iced coffee. Coffee was great and I love that milk mixins' are behind the counter and you can do it yourself. The cinnamon buns are so good fresh. Truly, a cold cinnamon bun does not do it any justice. It was so good and well worth the wait. I stopped by on our return trip dropping off our friend and picked up another coffee and a brownie cookie. The cookie was so soft and moist! Wanted something with a view, so I found this cue spot called the HIVE and it was buzzing a few minutes after we got here! We were a bit sad that their cinnamon bun but it was sold out! Small little neighborhood coffee shop. Quiet workspace with 5 or so tables for two inside and a small counter. Another 5 tables out on the patio. It's is very quiet. A low energy space. At least it was mid week, mid morning when I was there. I had a delicious salted Carmel latte. I have no special instructions but it was just the right sweet and salty. It was good. Had a scone from their pastry cabinet and it was all great. I don't think this is a destination but they do a great job and it's a good coffee. What else do you need? Would I come back? Sure. The cinny's are hyped up no doubt so I went it with mid expectations and semi-expecting to be disappointed since they have become so popular. But boy was I impressed! They mastered the cinnamon roll from the texture to the flavor. The cinnamon roll thankfully was not dry at all but also not too drenched. I loved the cream cheese frosting vs sugar frosting. The frosting was also not overwhelming and the roll itself was not overly sweet. I also had the cereal milk latte and thought it was the perfect mix of coffee and sweetness. I ordered Hive's ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls on Goldbelly dot com. Wow - six huge cinn rolls - mine arrived in NC thawed and cold with a big tub of cream cheese frosting - easy directions just proof for a hour in a warm oven then bake. I use a digital thermometer and baked to 195-200 degrees. Sooooo delicious! Deeeeeelicious! Did I mention how huge and yummy they are?!? The absolute best cinn rolls I ever ate. (I froze leftover rolls that same day and they tasted fab after thawing and gently warming.) read more

Super cute coffee shop! Love that it's so diverse and open to kids, dogs, moms, dads, LGBTQ, working people, dates, etc you name it. They even have a sign explicitly saying this. The location is so friendly and the employees were kind to give me recommendations. The chocolate brownie battery cookie is THICK! I HAD to try one of their bakery items and it didn't disappoint. I probably could have shared it with someone or brought some home but instead I ate it all. Somehow the chocolate was still as if it just came out of the oven. Great quality. The cozy chai with oat milk was lovely. The vanilla spice syrup is the perfect fall drink. I definitely will be back and support them! The cutest coffee shop in town! Popped in with a few friends for a post-gym coffee last weekend and finally understand why everyone's raving about The Hive! Oh my goodness! This has got to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing, kid friendly, dog friendly place. And the coffee is amazingly good! This was my favorite spot of the day. First off, I love the interior decor of the place. From the walls to the tables and chairs, the muted color palate with modern touches was so welcoming and calming. The coffee was delicious and right up there with higher end coffee shops. The staff was friendly and helpful when ordering. The employees are very good about cleaning and wiping tables and chairs after patrons. I ordered the cappuccino which was delicious and comforting on a cold day. We also ordered: pumpkin latte, chai tea, cereal latte, mocha latte. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. So for the kiddos, they have a play area and stroller parking. Restroom is kid friendly as well. For the pooches, while welcome inside when owners are ordering, they must take their purchases to go. Great place to work as the environment is well lit and somewhat on the quiet side. There's nothing wrong with selling out of a product in high demand, however, what's not acceptable is telling people that you're sold out for 30 minutes (including a pregnant woman) only to sell an "extra" cinnamon roll on the side. I was able to purchase what was supposedly the last cinnamon roll. I was obviously limited to one since that's all they had. After waiting for about 35 minutes inside and seeing dozens of people told that they were all out, I witnessed the manager sell someone an extra cinnamon roll that was miscalculated in their total. It's a bad look for a business. Also, maybe try not to be so obvious about it next time. read more

This review is for their Jersey City location but I can't find their Yelp page. AMAZING coffees (I got the lucky charms matcha, a summer seasonal drink called the Frenchie and the cereal milk). I also got this DELISH dessert bar- it has marshmallow on top and a bunch of layers in between, unsure what it's called but SO SO good! I did miss the cinny rolls :( but I'm sure those are well worth the wait if you get there early on a weekend. The girl who took my order was the sweetest human and I really enjoyed visiting this shop. I'm from CA but when I come back to Jersey, I will be coming here every time for my coffee and sweet treats. I went February 10th, Friday morning, with a friend. I was my first time there and I barely got a hello and welcoming to the coffee shop . This gentleman at the register just told "hi guys " and two second we were there he was rushing us . No conversation if this was our first time there. He simply asked us " you guys know what you want " I believe there wasn't any a line behind us, we felt rushed and just rude his tone. I've been to over a dozen different coffee shops and this is the first place I've seen with that. They also have the simple syrup out for you to do yourself. After a long Friday night of giving Uber rides and having my last Ride walk into my car with a machete. Yes a machete. It was a gift that a family member had just given him from Puerto Rico but I didn't know that so I was scared and shaking after dropped off the passenger. This place is everything!!! We are so excited to welcome this wonderful little coffee and bespoke retail gem to the neighborhood. The owners are two wonderful mothers, and the space is just gorgeous inside and out! They have a nice coffee/tea list (long enough with enough choices but not so many to make your head spin), they have wonderful pastries and my husband and I cannot WAIT for the fresh cinnamon rolls!!!!!! Coffee options are amazing, and I will definitely miss the Winter spiced cold brew in the warmer months! The hot chocolate bombs look incredible but are in such high demand so definitely keep an eye on their instagram for a heads-up on the next drop. If you go in the morning, they have typical breakfast pastries like scones and croissants (delicious almond croissant!). If you go in the afternoon, you must get a confetti cookie!
