Discovered Public Square Barbers in Gallatin about 8-10 months ago. I wish I was going here sooner. Atmosphere is excellent. There is beer and other drinks available if interested. If you have to wait a few min from being a walk-in, no big deal to chill and chat for a few. All the people are easy to talk to. First time I had an appointment, randomly chose K.C. As I sit in the chair, some how we start talking about something not politically correct and I hesitate to say anything else because people get their feelings hurt so easily these days. K.C. says we can talk how we want and people need to accept it. I knew this was the right place after that. Crazy you can get a good quality haircut and have a good time simultaneously. K.C. at the Gallatin location is top tier and it's a real shame he won't relocate to TX when I move. I almost want to deduct a star for that.

I'm surprised this place is rated so highly on different platforms as I had a terrible experience…read more First, I was unhappy with having to pay $35 for a gel manicure, I'm visiting family from out of town and normally in NYC I pay $30 but I figured fine, whatever. Upon arrival I was impressed with the salon, very calming music and it looked clean. Once I sat down to get my nails done I was frustrated that they didn't have a strengthening base coat for the nails which I get to avoid my nails breaking with gel but again, thought "whatever". Then, while my cuticles were being cut I noticed she nicked my pinky finger which was what started to set me off - I'm not paying to get cut, I will go to a surgeon for that. It wasn't until I had already left the salon that I looked at my nails and realized what a terrible job had been done. Refer to the attached photos to see how one of my nails hadn't even been completely stripped of the color I had previously (it's a light pink so barely visible) as well as how that same nail is only half way painted. She did ask some questions about my skincare and skin concerns, but some of the responses to my answers made me feel a bit embarrassed and self-conscious about my skin rather than supported or educated. As someone new to facials, I was hoping for more guidance and encouragement rather than feeling like my skin was being judged. When it came to the extractions, some of them felt quite forceful and were pretty painful. The pressure used felt a bit aggressive at times, and the way the towels were used on my face also felt a little rough rather than soft and soothing. I planned to tip the full amount of the certificate. I thought this was the first step to a healthy change and likely would have become a regular client. Why? Why not offer a discount? Why not offer a price list for a shorter massage? Why be so ugly? Please don't waste your time or money on this business, they don't care. Unprofessional and petty. It was not a good vibe. Cassie snapped at someone else in the office about the AC and how it was only cool in one spot and she couldn't enjoy it between customers. It made me feel like I was the problem today.
