I live super close to this location and come here often for plants. However, on this particular day I just needed two small pieces of wood for my planters, to raise the new mums I bought. A very nice man directed me to the wood aisle and told me that there is a clearance section of wood that has previously been cut and they try to get rid of. He encouraged me to check it out. He even took the time to walk with me over there. We saw a slab of wood that seemed perfect in thickness but just needed to be cut into blocks. He took me to another employee that was in charge of the wood section who seemed clueless. I immediately got nervous as this man said that there was a minimum amount he was able to cut and that we would need to head over to the cut it yourself center/mobile station to saw it. I'm not sure if the saw blade was just dull or what, but this guy was struggling to cut it, not to mention walking down the aisles he was swinging it around almost hitting other customers. I even had to help him lift in onto the station because he wasn't sure how to lay it in correctly. I began to get embarrassed standing there anxiously waiting, also thinking to myself I could probably just do it myself a lot quicker and wanted to avoid a potential accident. Ultimately I asked him to stop as I grew impatient and picked two blocks myself that ended up being $10 each. They were square rosettes. I felt bad but I was ina rush. My husband was annoyed because I could've saved us money by using the original clearance piece of wood especially because I didn't need much of it. Lesson learned, wait for my husband before going to Home Depot for DIY items but my blocks did the trick and I'm proud of myself for figuring out a quick fix.

Forklift with safety beeper on all night

Horrible loud noises coming from here at night between 10pm and 6am. You can hear it from inside the closed apartments across the street. It keeps my family and I awake every night. This business lacks ethics and empathy for the community it serves. They start a loud night shift every night at 10pm with forklifts with loud beepers constantly going and banging from the forklift driving around. I don't know why they think it's ok to work like that at this time of the night. Obviously they have no care for others. This can cause migraines and other health issues. Shame on you!

I purchased my kitchen appliance set (refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher) from Home Depot 3 years ago and had the worst experience with their delivery and installation service. I had to schedule 3 separate deliveries because they weren't able to do it properly the first time and when they finally were able install all items they left my kitchen hardwood floors with deep scratches. Shame on me that I trusted the sales person at Home Depot that they have a new delivery and installation service that is operated by their company now (due to all of the issues they had with the previous one). I purchased a new washer and dryer and the delivery people were to arrive between 3pm-7pm but they didn't get to my house until after 8pm. Then they left the dryer sticking out 2 ft from the wall so it was halfway out in the middle of my laundry room. When I asked the installer why he left it like this he said that the air duct they were "given by Home Depot" was too long and I had to go to Home Depot myself to get and install a shorter one. Why he hell did I pay for parts and installation services then?!?!? I am never purchasing appliances from Home Depot again!!!

Terribly understaffed on weekends. You can wait more than an hour if you need help with appliances, doors, windows, etc

Had an issue with a product and was unable to return to due cutting the wood. Spoke with the manager Mike, and problem solved.

This is one of the best Home Depot stores I've been. Never too busy and its not hard to find someone to help you out.

Unfortunately, one smug employee ruined that experience for me, and I'll now be switching my allegiance to Ace. I purchased a small $6 shower accessory. Unfortunately I lost the receipt. The accessory was not what I needed, and I attempted to return it. The employee stated I cannot return without a receipt, even for a store credit (I was going to purchase products worth more than the value of what I was returning). I was disappointed at this response, but I shopped for what I needed anyway. I went to the front, and the employee was helping another customer in an aisle. After helping that customer, she proceeded to another customer in the aisle. Now, I understand one person having to triage, but at that point a simple acknowledgement of me would have been nice. It felt intentional, and it seemed as if the employee was taking satisfaction, acting somewhat smug as she told me she won't accept a return without a receipt. Not sure if this is just one rude employee, or the owner is really this strict about returns on $6 items that are clearly unused, but either way, I seriously doubt I'll be doing business here any more. If you had or have a similar experience, I also encourage you to drop these clowns. (Incidentally, when I purchased the item I would eventually return, I was not asked for my phone number (which they generally use to text receipts, as I'm part of their "customer club" or whatever. So there is actually another mess-up by a different employee that could have accommodated the companies own draconian return policy.) In short, I go to a neighborhood spot like this for the service. And when I'm treated this way, it defeats the purpose of avoiding much more convenient and likely cheaper options like Ace or Amazon. You are not really selling hardware - you should be trying to offer a superior customer experience--remember that and you will not lose customers like this

There's a reason it's a local institution and legend. Yes, it's way smaller the the "big box" companies you know of. Brown's doesn't have everything they have because of size.
