No one ever tells you that most of your adult life will be spent trying to fix up or beautify your house. For me, I'm always in the nursery area buying soil to try and keep my plants healthy. Honestly, where does all the soil run off to!? This location has a pretty decent nursery. I got my soil, I looked at some ornamentals, and I got outta there before I could wander off to the Halloween display area. Finding this location was very easy, and the parking lot is well maintained. The store wasn't crowded at all, and the line to wait for returns wasn't bad. My husband had ordered an air-con unit that turned out to be the wrong size, so nothing wrong with the product. Because we had purchased the item online, we needed to return it at a physical location. The price for the unit itself was great. Mike was nice, but he seemed a little flustered the way you do when a place is short staffed. Not his fault, and something I completely relate to. I kind of felt rushed, but that's okay; I talk too much anyway. :D I didn't check out the rest of the store, but it had a comfortable atmosphere. This particular Home Depot is farther away from where we live, but they have a wide selection of tool rentals as well as truck rentals. we no longer have a truck so we ended up renting a truck on a Saturday and we got the last one. It was a bit busy, but everyone was friendly and helpful. You do have to make sure that you pay for gas before returning the truck and make sure you keep the receipt overall it was a great value for what we needed it for. read more

The team in the garden section and customer service desk do not care. I went in looking for a specific plant that I had purchased at another Home Depot. I provided sku number and even brought the old pot with all the information. The people in garden told me to go to customer service which I did. The people there were of less help as they told me I needed to call other Home Depot's to track down the plant myself. Nobody in that store offered any value so I went across the street to Lowes and purchased 12 shrubs from them. After visiting 2 other Home Depot's I went to the other side of town to pick it up only to be told they have the one they "set aside" for me. When I got to the location we were told they just have it away and the other store might have it, go check there but they can't call because the other locations phones weren't working. I am a DIY Female. I have 2 horrible experiences, 2 days apart. I am building custom cabinets. I took my Teen daughter with me, she's learning. We load our wood $2k+ worth, we are now in the trim aisle. I'm picking what I need, taking them to her and she's cutting them to manageable pieces (by our cut sheets). She had 2 cuts left...i grab the cut sheets to confirm the counts of the stack she had done, I'm at the end of the aisle. I hear a man say 'would you like me to do that for you so you don't hurt yourself?' i turn around and started pushing the cart toward her, and She said 'I got it.' And he just stood there. I said 'You should have asked her before she cut these 27 pieces!' . The guy literally walked away with his foot in his mouth. 2 days later...I bought my husband an Ice Flaker (not from HD), the water lines provided were a different size to run through my RO system. I went to HD and grabbed what I thought I needed, wrong size. The next morning I returned the fitting and I took the lines with me, I needed a 'T' fitting. After attempting to locate what I knew I needed, an elderly man approached and offered help. I explained what I was doing, and he grabbed the exact fitting I purchased the previous night. I showed him how 2 lines were perfect but the 3rd into the 'T' was to big. I would need an adapter for that one fitting, and/or a 'T' that fit all 3. His first suggestion after he couldn't find the right 'T' was to stick a hose into that 'big' hole, put my hose inside and use electrical tape to hold the 2 together. I said I want it done right, not rig something that could possibly leak. His suggestion: 'Well then hire a plumber'. 'Why in the hell would I hire a plumber', I asked, 'I know what I need, can you not help me find the fitting?' I think you are trying to do what you can't, he said. I said 'do you know how much money I've spent here in the last 2 weeks, let alone 2 years, not my husband, ME. I've remodeled 2 homes, ME, not a contractor, not a plumber, not my husband, and I did it the right way, not by taping 2 hoses together to make do! He tells me 'well maybe you should hit a plumbing store then because i gave you my suggestion.' Yep, hire a plumber or tape 2 hoses together instead of the proper connector, no thanks, I don't need your help anymore!' (I attempted to speak with the 'acting' manager on duty on the phone while sitting in my car calming down, he was just as daft as the elderly man). I am getting to despise this store, the only time I seem to get seen as knowledgeable and/or capable is when I'm covered head to toe in saw dust/paint/cement/etc...if I/we stop in actually looking somewhat feminine, we are treated as if we wandered into the wrong store and need our hand held. Home Depot needs to train their male employees AND management that women are now capable of home improvement projects. read more

Rented a box truck at 730pm and it was supposed to be returned at 9am. I was 30 minutes late so they charged me for a full day ($150) instead of two hours ($30). I literally left the truck there overnight because they close at 9 and we only drove like 4 miles. The guy at the counter was a complete ass and very rude. I went to The Home Depot to buy some screws for a home improvement project I am working on (It is not finished yet in case you were wondering). When I entered the store, I went straight to the isle that has the screws and nails (this was not my first time in the store). When I arrived, I immediately started looking purposefully confused and saying "hmmm" and "I'm so confused out loud". It took about 5 minutes of me getting progressively louder until an employee talked to me. He had taken my bait. When Jason (I believe that was his name) asked me what he could do for me, I asked him to explain to me why these screws didn't have threading on them. I WAS HOLDING NAILS! Hahahaha. He didn't laugh. Instead he tried to explain the difference between nails and screws. He was very polite about it. I let him talk for about 10 minutes before I stopped and told him I was just joshing around. He looked uncomfortable, and so I thanked him for being a good sport. It was fun. I did end up accidentally buying nails instead of the screws I needed, but I think that was just because I was so tickled by my trickery. Everyone was very nice. 5/5 Stars! -David Summers read more

This is the best HD I have been to. I rolled in about 20 minutes before closing looking for a specific item that was listed as in-stock on the website. I couldn't find it in the general area it should have been. I had to locate an employee to assist me and that he did. He looked up the item on his phone and said "oh yeah, we have 18 of those and they are in the garden section." They were there on a shrink wrapped pallet on the top shelf. A few other employees jumped in to help with the forklift and grabbing what I needed. Then off to check-out and at the self-service station another employee jumped in to assist me and ensured I was taken care of. Great experience from some stellar people. Thanks! read more

Hi, Just visited this store tonight at 1925hrs.. I needed to buy some replacement bulbs for my laundry room. I found the lights & the sign said they were on sale. "Yayyy!", right? Wrong, I said something to the clerk by my self-checkout register. He did not answer me, turned around, & continued doing whatever he was doing. He didn't even help when the register had trouble reading my card. He just stood there & stared at me. I moved registers & told another worker it was having trouble reading my card. She glared at me, then told the previous worker I had spoken too, "can you reset that register? He says his card won't work on it."-in what was clearly a condescending tone directed at me. Anyhow, I managed to get my card to work on the other register while also paying the full price of $24.95. I don't frequent Home Depot much & maybe that was some sort of members only price but that doesn't excuse the attitudes from the workers. Very unsettling to say the least & not sure I will frequent Home Depots anymore. read more

This particular Home Depot on Arizona Ave has the best customer service out of all the ones I've been to (and I been to a lot). Between my own house stuff and working in hvac I go to Home Depot at least 2-3 times a month. The staff at this one actually asks you if you need help with anything rather than looking the other direction when you approach them. They just got it down compared to the others. I was in the middle of a job and my shop vac failed that I got like 6 months ago and I needed one immediately. Jocelyn was at customer service and she took care of the issue immediately and professionally. I usually work in the Phoenix area but if I know I need to go to Home Depot I'll stop at this one. read more

What is there to say about the Home Depot? Not sure. The competition is generally Lowes. I find lowes to have a younger staff, maybe a bit better looking. However, who cares. The Home Depot has people who genuinely know what they are talking about. For example, I was looking at table sanders one time and one associate came by and asked if everything is OK. I told him, just window shopping and dreaming. Then we started talking about large planers and projects we were working on. It's nice. Been working on a home improvement project all week. Bought some pavers in the home depot by Germann and when I went back for more, the shade I had purchased was no longer available. So I came to this location, we found a potential match up on the racking that required fort cliff support. Jason (gentleman with glasses and shoulder lengths hair) was exceptionally handy! If I could give a negative rating I would. My daughter and son-in-law along with my 3 yr old granddaughter were racially profiled. As they were getting to the self check out there were 3 clerks standing by self check out when a clerk came up snatched their cart started scanning their items, never said anything, stuck her hand out for his debit card, put it in machine and picked option to bypass pin and handed his card back and walked off. Because they were raised by good parents they chose to walk away without making a scene. Being here mother and white and having gone through this for years with her father and I well it would have been very different before we left. My daughter called back spoke to manager who knew exactly who mistreated them and apologized extensively, said he would handle immediately. My opinion she should be fired. We signed a contract for a window replacement with Home Depot and they gave us a 6-8 week timeliness for the project which seemed fair. At 9 weeks I called them asking about the window. At 10 weeks they got back to me and told me they had to cancel the project because of a complication they knew about but failed to communicate to me sooner...I could have paid them for this complication but now I am just angry because my city permit is up in 2 weeks and they want to send someone out to measure again!! 10 weeks after the contract was initially made! It was supposed to be delivered on Saturday but your delivery (out sourced company) people call off and now they will do it on Sunday. Refrigerator shows up with a HUGE crease across the front of one of the doors. Because the delivery was done by another company you wash your hands of it and can no longer help us. Samsung now tells us that we have to wait until Dec 2nd for a delivery. I'll bet you can guess why we are buying a new refrigerator. It's not because we don't need one!!! Used to go to that store ... but no more after tonight unless they fix things up. Ordered a product online for pick up in store. Showed some stock but I guess the inventory on the website was wrong. Store just cancelled order (how easy for them) instead of trying to correct their error: source it from another store or headquarters ... or even have it ship to me from HomeDepot.com. On top of it, they now expect me to drive to the store to get a refund (again, due to their error). How is that remotely acceptable ? Do not ever. I repeat. Do not ever purchase appliances from Home Depot. They do not stand behind any product and once it's delivered it's no longer any of their concern. They do not care about any kind of problem or care to find a solution. I recently purchased a new refrigerator,stove,microwave, and dishwasher to place in my newly renovated kitchen. It was determined that the refrigerator was too deep for the project so I needed the counter depth. I was informed that even though the refrigerator was still completely unpacked in its original carton they would not allow it to be returned. I had to purchase another refrigerator and try to sell the original. After the contractor had installed the dishwasher,which was removed from a damage free container, I went to use it and couldn't get the top drawer to come on. The contractor discovered a dent that was two inches deep and approximately 13 inches long that completely bent the rollers and made it impossible to open the door. Home Depot's response was to bad so sad but we can't help you. I will never shop Home Depot again and will tell as many people as I possibly can to never buy from Home Depot. I spent over $7500 on appliances alone not to mention door and drawer pulls. New door knobs. Doors security and exterior and interior. New light fixtures and they refused to help. Purchased and had delivered a 900$ grill that had a faulty igniter, when I called to find out the best course of action I was put in hold for 31 minutes.
