This, much like any other HD, is nearly the size of Rhode Island. There are plenty of orange aproned associates running around but not too many of 'em seem overly ready or willing to be of that much assistance. Odd part is that we ran into the handyman who does most of our work and he was more helpful than the employees were in the ability to find random things we needed. One associate WAS actually helpful in getting us directly to the aisle where I was looking for a PARTICULAR adhesive. I wish I remembered or better observed his name tag so I could provide appropriate kudos for his knowledge and assistance. He's a Hispanic fellow who seemed to be focused in the HVAC area of the store, aka Aisle 30 area. As all the Mr Fix-It types did their best to keep it moving thru the aisles, islands and byways of this monstrous megalithic monument to home improvement and construction, it all came to a grinding halt up at the registers. I really wonder how such an onerous ode to retail reality as this place can get by with about as few cashiers as Walmart on a Sunday morning! So much for modern efficiency. On a slightly tangential note, I probably saved at least half an hour of time I'd never have gotten back again. While skulking about on a concrete floor inside a gargantuan warehouse that smells of lumber and PVC may not compare TOO negatively to 25 years of hard labor in the ol' gulag... I neither didn't nor don't wanna spend any more time in here than I absolutely must. Both the Queen Bee and I loathe the principle of self checkout...We found a self checkout and just headed over to it. We completed our purchase and hopefully completed our time spent in there for the foreseeable future. "Orange" you just totally happy for me gettin' outta there in less than 45 minutes? I know I am... Parenthetically, I don't mean to come across as a total negative Nancy here. If you really need stuff like wall anchors, wing nuts, wet vacs or faucet washers...ain't no place like good ol' HD. A decent supply of appliances, decor items and a very nice garden section (both indoor and outdoor portions) also await your presence and patronage. You can probably paint your entire town with a fresh coat or two with what they have in stock here as well. How can one go wrong??? read more

We stopped by to pickup some vinyl tiles that we had purchased. One of the boxes of tile had been opened then resealed. It was missing tiles. The store manager intervened and helped us sort out the issue. Unfortunately, we had to go to another store to get the other box of tiles. The bottom line is that you should call ahead to make sure they actually have you order ready despite what emails or texts say. We won't order online again. read more

We were planning on painting the exterior of our stucco home. In the paint department, at the Gulf to Bay Blvd Home depot in Clearwater fl, we met a very kind and friendly Eric. He was extremely helpfull and competent, He guided us on the correct paint and helped us to buy the proper amount of paint. Our contractor told us we would need 35 gallons of paint, 3 primer and 4 finishing coat. It turned out we only needed 17 Gallons in total. We have always shopped Home Depot and will continue to do so. However, we will never buy another appliance there. We purchased a refrigerator, range, microwave, and dishwasher for our new to us home. When they were delivered, we discovered the microwave that was suggested was too big for the space. The same day as delivery, my husband took the microwave back to order the correct one. Home Depot does not accept returns on appliances. Now we have a completely useless, brand new still in the package microwave. We will never fall for this again. I really LOVE this Home Depot! I have one in Largo, but the best customer service can be found at this Home Depot. I treated with respect and the guy who cuts my wood is the nicest guy, along with the cashiers. I love the garden section, but honestly, the flowers I buy from Lowe's in Largo always survive and bloom awesome. Also, if there is a flaw to this Home Depot, its garden section is very much overpriced. I stopped coming in about 2 years ago for lack of service. I went looking for garden pavers just the other day and was pleasantly surprised by the improved service level. While I was loading my pavers I heard on their intercom advice describing the correct cart to use to make loading easier. As well as an offer of assistance in reaching product and or loading the same. I had not heard this from their competition. I found this refreshing and was equally pleased when I got to the cashier in the garden center and I was asked " did I need help out to my vehicle loading my pavers " I took care of it myself thank the cashier and walk to my vehicle smiling thinking there is still good service out there and sometimes you don't need to look for it. I have been trying to rent a truck just for an hour to move a mattress for less than an hour. Each phone call I have had here with them has been awful. I don't know either of the male employees names but they were not helpful at all and very rude. They acted like i was bothering them when I asked very simple questions since it said on the website to call the store , which I did. I was about to give up with home depot ... the only reason I called this location is because it was the closest one from me . I called the Missouri/largo location and they were much nicer and helpful. I'd rather give my money to a location that is nicer than horrible customer service. It is a lot further but i feel like it is worth it. I work in customer service too and i get bad days but two calls on different days and get different employees and have them both be rude uncalled for. We bought a troy built lawn mower on line from HD. My husband assembled what little he had to the mover ran less than two minutes. I spent several hours trying to get a troy built representative to help no luck. Trying to get a approved repair person is another issue especially since we do not own a trailer AND they are backed up 3 to 3 months during summer and rainy season. We called HD and asked to speak with the manager she informed me NOT to return our Troy back and if I was to do so we needed to empty out all gas, oil like how are two senior citizens going to do that with no trailer? The only thing she was able to do was offer us a push mower which we already had, the purpose of the troy was to get away from pushing. $1400. wasted. Our warranty is only good AFTER one year????? I had forgotten why I stopped going to this Store until I made the mistake of dropping in today. The rudeness of the clerk in the garden center was appalling. Basically called me a liar for pointing out to her that the mulch I wanted and paid for was not only outside as she stated but was also available inside the garden center. I stopped by today to get a few DIY supplies and was very impressed with the customer service here. There was a pleasant greeter standing right at the door who immediately lead me to the first thing I needed. Her and another associate Both answered questions to help me get the right item. Then I headed down to plumbing to get something for a project and I noticed there were plenty of associates in every aisle to help those in need. Another gentleman who worked there was very attentive and located what I was looking for Overall the store literally has almost any item you could need for home repair and its very good size, clean and organized store. I LOVE THIS STORE!! We come here a lot for all sorts of home repairs and always have a good experience. Occasionally we grab the wrong person to help is in a department, but they are always helpful. Today we went in to get supplies to completely redo our bathroom. We had people asking all along the way if we needed help and joking with us (we like to have fun). We even got a tub less than half price because there was a small damaged spot on it. The guy who marked it down for us even helped us find some stuff to touch up the damage so it's like new. It's just like nearly any other Home Depot. Except most of the employees I speak with have had some actual experience in carpentry and construction. In power tools I spent over an hour hanging out with an old timer talking about the evolution of cordless drills. Boring to some awesome to me. We ended up settling on a ridged drill and impact drill set. Totally worth it if you buy ridged power tools at Home Depot and then do the online registration with ridged (keep your receipt) you get a LIFETIME SERCIVE AGREEMENT. literally everything even the battery's will be replaced. Best power tool purchase ever. After spending a bunch of time using my drill I love my ridged over my old dewalts. Also in garden section I met an old fencing contractor who helped get every piece I needed to run a link fence in my backyard he helped measure it out and picked all the misc nuts and bolts. Best team of employees I've worked with at any home improvement warehouse. Forget lowes come here!! read more

There is NO H-E-S-I-T-A-T-I-0-N in his movement to give know-how, because he understands the world of wood! One might have a basic understanding of a project she wants to construct, however, might not know all the specifics to get the maximum benefit out of most of the cut sizing of one large sheet of quarter inch plywood with minimum waste. Bro. Mike Biros is in impressive as he mentally works through the selected wood and lumber and follows his "mind's eye" to bring the customer closer to her finished product. This "W-O-O-D-S-M-A-N" IS DEAD ON as he brings joy to the many who seek his services. Generally speaking, I am very pleased. All-in-All, I am joyful, with way Store Manager Rian Meyers runs the Home Depot on Gulf to Bay. Moreover, since, I have deleted most of my hobby projects, I will need to stock up on supplies as I my return to wood craft building. Why would anyone place a bad review for the Home Depot, they just sell stuff, if it does not work you take it back. I've met some really nice helpful people here especially the slim paint guy. I was just wandering around and looking through some paint charts, the next thing you know, he came over and started to talk about paints, I called my husband over to listen to him. The next 2 days after he suggested we pressure washed our house we came back and bought 2 of those big white buckets of paints and brushes and trays, he's great, he genuinely loves and knows his job, very helpful and full of excellent advice on paints, colors, what's trendy, which paints are long-lasting and other stuff. But the other day, I met up with a short, gray-haired racist female cashier, I won't go into details about what she said, needless to say, she was very rude and unmannerly.
