I went to the gardening department and with the help of the cashier, purchased 20 bags of mulch. Yep, that time again. I asked the representative to have someone assist me with loading onto the cart and into the vehicle, no problem. All I needed to do is pull up my card, curbside. I had two representatives loading the cart, I think that's what it's called, and they were cheerful and extremely helpful, even telling me how to unload it from my vehicle, lol, luckily I didn't need to unload it, I had someone else to do that. They were extremely helpful, and that would be Justin and Jhanelle, I think that was his spelling but they were extremely helpful and very friendly. I always try to give staff a tip. But Home Depot doesn't allow it. It's really shameful. You're not Starbucks so stop it. read more

You know I have been coming to this store for more than 2 years, and never thought to give it a review until today's situation. I hardly ever use the bathroom in public, but today was an emergency. You was deathly afraid of what state I would find the bathroom, but to my surprise, it was clean! It had the toilet sanitary covers, soap, no graffiti! I came here twice, first time was for painted pumpkin and mum and second time was for materials to remove wallpaper border from living room (diy project). Both times the customer service was great. Didn't have to look far or wait for help. The staff spent time answering my questions and made good recommendations. I was picking up a online order for a outdoor swing and I was rudely greeted by a young man in his 20s. After explaining that I was there for a online order I was ignored. His name tag said "William Fischer," which I doubt is even his real name. I had to wait almost 30 minutes to receive my outdoor swing from "the back of the store." I asked Mr. Fischer to help me load the swing into my car because I just had back surgery and he denied my request for help. Whenever I come here there are always employees in their section that are willing to help you and/or answer any questions you may have. They will also give you ideas and/or advice on your projects. Employees are very knowledgeable. They have self check out and cashiers for your purchasing pleasures. The parking lot is quite big. Horrible. Went for some essentials and two workers in the garden department has masks only covering his mouth not his nose. Security at the door was on his phone and obviously not telling people they couldn't enter because they didn't have masks. One worker walked around with no mask and when I spoke to the manager her response was "he is just coming in for his shift and going to get his mask now". Should he be in the store without a mask on? "NO, NO, NO!" "There is no excuses people! Get it together!" If you are not wearing a face covering, you are the disrespecting the essential workers who are in the front lines. I have went here a few times because it's the closest harware store in my area, I ask an associate to help me out to find an item and he said its not his job its the other guys job, went to couple of associates and said the same thing, which is very upsetting. these bunch of dudes just walking around the store not doing anything. One lady page overhead and no one came to help I left without the item on my hand. It's the worst place on my opinion. Came in to return spray paint and the return line was out the door. Just 1 register open. It seemed to run smooth until that nightmare customer was at the register. Of course eventually a Manager had to be called and she had to be all of 12. She couldn't help but notice the line of frustrated customers, yet she did absolutely nothing and walked away. Even the poor cashier seemed frazzled and the Manager left her there alone. I ended up leaving without processing my return. I will go to Selden Home Depot and never return here. There's a pattern with Home Depot: If you happen to get lucky and ask the right person you might get some good advice. The chances of this happening are extremely rare. You usually get someone who is just grateful to have a job and can tell the difference between a phillips head and a flat head screw driver. You really need to know exactly what you need when you go to Home Depot and for someone like me that's unfortunate. You cannot go in seeking advice because you will be given wrong advice by people who don't know what they're talking about. If they were knowledgeable in the plumbing field, they'd have a job in the plumbing field and so on. Bought a house in the vicinity to this Home Depot so I've been coming here a lot lately (more often than I'd like) for little odds and ends projects. Here are some of the things that should have been a breeze but that I've run into trouble dealing with at this particular location: 1. I was sold the wrong width blinds despite showing the salesperson a picture of the tape measure against the window so he could see the exact size of each window down to 1/8". I thought the blinds would be a little snug and should be trimmed a bit but the salesperson said no and assured me they'd be fine. Guess what? All 4 sets of blinds were TOO WIDE and had to be returned. 2. I bought a lamp and when I got home and opened the box the shade was smashed and crinkled but not only that, some disgruntled person who bought the lamp before me threw it back in the box -- MINUS THE ESSENTIAL HARDWARE TO ASSEMBLE IT -- taped it back up and Home Depot re-sold it to me missing all the pieces I needed to put the thing together. Shame on Home Depot for not checking, and also shame on the customer for passing their problem on to someone else. Maybe I should've opened the box and checked that all the hardware was intact, but the seal didn't look broken so I never questioned that Home Depot would take something back and resell it without checking. 3. I have a pet gate that I've been trying to put up for the last week and have made 5 trips back and fourth to Home Depot trying to get the proper hardware to get the job done. Each time I ask someone for help I'm given different advice and am sold different hardware to get the job done. I always bring the brackets with me to show the "experts" (I use that term loosely) what I'm doing and working with, but can never seem to get what I need to finish the job -- it should be simple, just some screws and possibly wall anchors?! One guy sold me a box of screws he swore were the right ones but wound up being too wide for the mounting brackets (which I brought into the store to show him!). Another day one of the "experts" pointed at a chart of wall anchors, told me to look at the chart to figure out which one I needed and walked away. Mind boggling. At this point I should just pay someone to install the pet gate and never set foot inside a Home Depot again -- especially not this one. 4. Today I needed a level to finish hanging those blinds and some oversized mirrors and pictures. I inquired in the tool department what type of level I should buy (laser, aluminum, magnetic torpedo mounted on a yardstick or...? Give me your expert advice!). The salesperson tried selling me a "post and fence level"!!!! He told me to put it on the corner of the mirror and hold it against the wall. I pointed out that it said right on the package that it was a fence level and he said I could still use it anyway. I told him it was a 4" depth and my mirror was only a 1" depth so it wouldn't even sit flush against the mirror. He said that didn't matter. Another customer overheard him trying to sell me this and he started shaking his head because even he knew it was incorrect. I got the attention of another salesperson and even he told the first guy that was the wrong level but he didn't want to admit it so he kept trying to convince everyone that it could be used. Unbelievable. I walked out without buying anything and went to Ace Hardware instead. I give two stars because the store is neat and seems to be well stocked, but if I am rating on helpfulness and knowledge of the staff that would be -5 read more

As we walk back someone is wheeling them back as she's texting on her phone. They have instituted a new return policy. If you don't have a receipt you can't even get a store credit. Tiny sign by the service desk that no one would even notice. Terrible customer service. I am a 25 yr customer, they won't budge. No notice in my Home Depot credit card statement either. If they aren't going to provide great service what's the point coming here? I can but there stuff anyplace. Go to Lowe's, use their card and get 5% off anything you buy. That's caring for the customer. HD could learn something. I wish giving no stars was an option! Absolutely horrible customer service and professionalism. After months of planning I finally am getting my carpet installed today as I write this actually, by two Pre-Madonna's. I have gone here in the past no big problems worth stressing my opinion about, but now I never will and make it my duty to make sure everyone I know never uses them. I have a few pieces of small furniture in my basement that will need to be moved during installation that me and my 62 year old mother lifted and moved to preserve when we got our flood to try and save it from damage. That they want to now charge $700 to move that's now in their new and improved receipt in fine print. Absolutely ridiculous, after being on the phone for an out trying to resolve the issue for an hour the Pre-Madonna told me now it's too late to install the rep on the phone took a lousy $200 off the $700 and made sure they start the job. I'm so disgusted with this place. Their installation wasn't ever the best but the price always used to be decent so we would come here now we have learned not to, only reason I am letting them proceed is because I can't afford to take another unpaid day off to go use somewhere else. The "Free Installation " only includes ripping up the old carpet WHICH I DONT HAVE ANY TO BE RIPPED UP so you would think they would waive the $700 fee ! I went to by a grill today. I had the front desk page someone to help me. After a few minutes a young lady came out to help me. She told me to wait by the pro check out and she would bring the grill. After 45 minutes waiting I see the same girl try to walk out the store in her street clothes. When I asked her about my grill she told me she handed it of to Eric without breaking her stride out the door. Heres the kicker nobody knew who Eric was. Let me be perfectly honest here, this store is a DUMP. Seventy five percent of the workers have no clue how to treat customers. The managment is non existent at best. New, M.O.D. Chris did nothing to correct a recent experience between a worker and my five foot two inch wife who just retired from teaching only to be screamed at by an idiot who works in lumber department. I called a lawyer after what helped because Chris said his team of people who record the entire store were working at the time. Can't wait for lawsuit to be in place when these videos will be taken from store to prove what happened date and time stamped. Not sure who is writing such great reviews for a store that goes through managers like water. If you want to waste time shop at Selden Home dump. If you want to get what you need stop at any other store. Selden Home Depot is a waste of your time. I LOVE this Home Depot. It seems to have changed a bit since last fall, employees are fantastic, but stretched thin. It is a bit tough to find someone these days, but when you do, they're completely accomodating. The bus stop located to the side makes the area a bit sketchy after dark, but, I have never felt unsafe during the day. How can you beat the location? Stop and shop, home depot, liquor store in the sane strip, with the beverage center right across the side street. There is no way to make weekend bbqs more convenient. One home improvement after another has brought us back so often, we know the layout of the store as if it was our 2nd home! Lol That being said, Our customer experience with Phil, above all other past Home Depot experiences, was excellent on so many levels. He was not only extremely knowledgeable, but did it with a style all his own. His warm and welcoming demeanor, his obvious passion for assisting the customer with making a well informed purchase, restored our; faith in the good old fashion, "How can I help you make a purchase you will be happy with?" attitude! The incompetence in this store belies the fact that it is still in business. I ordered and paid for an expensive grill (including assembly and delivery). The delivery date was pushed back because "it was raining" and all of their trucks were open backed. I requested an early morning delivery which was put in my records. They delivered the" wrong model" at 3:30 p.m. and "could not find" the grill I ordered. (I watched them take it off the shelf. Did they sell it or deliver it to someone else?) After offering no discount for the scratched "floor model", they picked up another grill from a different Home Depot and promised assembly and delivery the next day. They showed up at 11:30 a.m. and dropped the grill. It hit the truck and was damaged beyond repair, You can't make this stuff up! read more

I gave the store a 1 only because you can't give it a zero. Today 6/22/16 between 9:30 am and 10. Am I visited this store. Yes I know all of the crime and murders that happen in that parking lot but it's daylight so I went in. I was looking for 2 bags of Milorganite. The location was empty but the full pallet was up above. I a shed the woman at the cashier station to get someone to help. With a frustrating look she attempted to get someone. I waited for a few minutes and no one was answering her. I told her I had to look at something else and I will be back. When I returned no one was getting the product down and I asked the cashier if it was going to happen. The look I got gave me my answer. I left your store drove down the road and stopped at reliable garden and they had the product at the same price, and they put it in my car. Stopped by here recently to get prices on Kraftmaid cabinets because we are remodeling our kitchen. After waiting patiently for 15 minutes for the designer to finish up with another couple she asked me if I needed help. I replied that I was interested in getting prices on Kraftmaid cabinets (just prices, not design). I already had the design and measurements with me. She asked me if I had an appointment. I questioned why I would need an appointment to get prices on cabinets. She said usually you make an appointment because we are helping other people with projects. I looked around and said that I didn't see anyone else here. She said she was busy working on a design for someone else and had to email it to them and could not help me now. I said ok no problem, I'll just go spend my money at one of your competitors to which she replied "OK". I let the manager know what happened on the way out and she apologized up and down and said she should have helped me seeing that I was the one in front of her looking to make a purchase. I then left the store and drove to Lowes and purchased an entire kitchen suite. Lowes design department was helpful and courteous and made a huge sale. Good for Lowes. We ordered a bookcase on Monday 08/14 to be delivered on Thursday 08/17. It showed as delivered by UPS on Wednesday 08/16, except it was nowhere to be found. UPS apparently marks items delivered to hit their targets! We waited another day, as instructed, but nothing. Bookcase had misteriously disappeared. We were told Home Depot would issue a refund and reordered. The second bookcase was inexplicably sent to an old address (we haven't lived there in over a year!). How that address got in the new delivery statement is beyond comprehension, since the first one was shipped to correct address (despite never arriving!). We contacted Home Depot again, they said they would change the shipping address. To this date (it's a week later), they have no idea where the bookcase is. The first refund hasn't been issued yet, but our credit card was charged. We are still in limbo. Why use UPS at all, they just contribute to Home Depot's already damaged reputation. How can a company get it so wrong twice with the same customer, the same item, in the same week? How grossly incompetent! What a poor service and terrible experience. If zero stars were an option, we would have chosen it. One star means they did something marginally right. They didn't. Avoid like the plague! read more
