CHRISTMAS TREE LOT REVIEW only I had the pleasure of purchasing a tree with my family from the Tree Lot at Home Depot El Cajon. This review is going to be short just because it's a seasonal thing and people want to hurry and find a good spot for a tree... so here we go. The employees were pretty cheerful and were in good holiday spirits. Walking in your greeted with Christmas music and the fresh smell of pine trees ( my favorite ) your full average 6-8 foot tree is going to run anywhere from 60-100$ depending on the type of tree you want. Seems a lot but this is definitely the average place when going somewhere like this. They will trim the bottom of the tree and any part on the tree you may want removed. They have holiday plants and this year my daughter was in love with the FREE little Charlie Brown trees haha cutest things ever. The bright star in my trip to Home Depot was Pat, one of the cashiers helping in the self-checkout area. She's super funny! She mentioned she was a professional clown for many years and where she received her nickname, "Squeakers." We found that we both have a love of photography; her specialty is wildlife and mine is landscapes/nature. She's an asset to this company. The other employees who offered to help find a product and did were appreciated. Where I had issues: 1. Upon entering, there's no map or person to direct you in this ginormous store. For example, where is the bathroom? 2. There's disabled parking at the entrance door, but check out is ALL the way down to the other side of the store. I understand this is a corporate decision, probably to get people to spend more money. That said, it's not right to make disabled people to walk THAT far. I stopped by for a few paint samples and the experience at the paint counter was painfully slow. The employee clearly struggled with the system and didn't seem equipped to handle the pace of the paint department. What should've been a 10-15 minute stop turned into well over 30 minutes. This comes from having someone who looks like could be my great grandmother. No offense to her but this isn't the right job for her where efficiency is a big priority for these customers. This area of the store is one of the busiest and needs staff who can move efficiently and handle constant contractor traffic. Management should really pay attention to who's assigned here -- this position requires someone with up-to-date training and experience using the paint system. read more

My wife and I came in after work to buy a new garage freezer. We selected the one we wanted within 10 minutes. The size/style that we wanted was on the upper shelf in bay 9. We stood there for over 15 minutes while 2 employees were less than 20 feet away from us BSing with each other and a customer about vacuums. At one point a third employee joined them as they continued to laugh and look at their phones. The employees obviously knew the woman because she said goodbye to all of them and called them by name and said "love you, see you later." I finally walked around the store to try and locate another employee to help us while my wife continued to stand in the same spot waiting for one of the 3 employees to acknowledge her. He had me order new ones that didn't work....and eventually it cost me an additional $225.00 for the installer to come back and add more to complete the job. (15 minutes of work?) Seems like this shouldn't have been an issue, and should have been included in the job - and seriously, why did this one curtain take so long to ship out to us? Today, my family and I bought a new washer and dryer, and we're beyond happy with our experience--especially thanks to Esther Freeman in the appliance section. We originally came in to pick up something else but decided to check out washers and dryers since we've been needing a new set. Esther immediately offered to help and guided us to exactly what we were looking for. My mom and I had different priorities, but she found us one we both loved. My husband and I saw a Black Friday deal on appliances. The deal required to get 4 appliances (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and dishwasher.) We had a specific budget and specific measurements for our small kitchen. We tried picking our appliances online and decided to go to home depot to see what he have already added to the online cart before checking out. When we got to Home Depot, a sales associate named Esther had warmly greeted us. We told her about the deal we saw, our budget and our kitchen measurements. We told her that we already had some items in the online cart. When she checked those items, she informed us that we were off on the measurements on some of the items. We decided to start search over, and asked her to help us pick out the appliances that would fit our kitchen for the budget we had in mind. She said no problem. Right away I felt like I was dealing with a professional. Her knowledge of math was impressive. She knew right away what would fit and what would not fit. When I explained what kind of fridge I wanted, she knew exactly what to recommend. She showed us a perfect fridge, however, I taught the cost is too high for us. When I said it was too high of a price, she calculated in her head the final price with applied discounts and showed us, how we could actually afford the specific fridge she had showed us. Without her, I would have missed the opportunity to buy a "perfect" fridge. She did the same with other items. She explained to us the differences between each brand and showed us star ratings. At times, it felt like she could read our minds and answer questions before we asked them. At the end, we got great appliances (which are all installed and running great) without going a dollar over our budget. She is not an average employee and I hope Home Depot values her. After my shopping experience with Esther, I felt truly lucky that we walked in at perfect time, when she was not busy with other customers and she had time to help us, otherwise so many things could have went wrong. To my LUCK, 5 minutes after speaking to Chris he gave me a call as I was leaving the parking lot to let me know a Good Samaritan turned them in. This location needs a security presence, especially in the parking lot. I was there on a Saturday afternoon. A shoplifter almost ran me over as I was entering the store. He set off the alarms when leaving, but there was no security personnel who might deter such behavior. I was able to move out of his way, but there were shoppers there who could have been knocked over. There were also random people in the parking lot trying to sell food. I saw I guy trying to sell strawberries. He was really pushy, and I watched him trying to sell to a poor lady who was all alone trying to get to load a bunch of stuff into her truck. I have been to this home depot a good amount of times and I never leave a review. Because I don't have much to say but today I do! I went to use the restroom. I put all my stuff on top of the toilet paper dispenser area and a clip I had for my hair. I proceed to get out of the restroom and an Employee who works for this Home Depot That who saw me come out of that stall went in after me. I was washing my hands, I realized that I had left my hair clip inside of that stall. It's my favorite hair clip. So she comes out gets all her stuff. She was a heavy set short person, black hair. I knew she worked there because she had an orange vest in her hand, maybe off her shift already or starting her shift. She leaves so I go back to look and its gone. She took it. The fact that you have an employee whether or not it's something small or big. Knowing that person saw me and you took something that didn't belong to you. You have some sketchy people working here that's not right. The fact that she saw me come out of that stall and didn't even ask if I left that in there and she didn't give it back to me is wrong in all the ways possible.
