Placed an order for a door on July 7,2022. Paid for the entire door and measuring as well. The paperwork had the wrong address and I tried leaving a message with the Doors and Windows Dept. However, it kept saying mailbox is full. It then directs you to the help desk. No one is available, the recording states and it hangs up on you! I email the department and do not get a response. I finally email the Store Supervisor who apologizes and says he will get someone on it. As yet no one has called me back. I have been a loyal customer to HD for years , ordered tile, kitchen countertops, carpet, appliances but this lack of customer service and passing the buck is getting old ,i.e. my supervisor has to sign off on it?! All I'm asking is to correct the address so my door can be installed! It is ready to go! I'm thinking of contacting Corporate HQ Southern Division next as well as my credit card company to see if they can help me with this matter.! Feeling desperate! read more

What happened to the Home Depot I used to know. I ordered a refrigerator and delivery has been missed 3X. Nobody can tell me WHY delivery is such an issue. This is the worst of all home depots in the area. Whoever the manager or regional manager for this location, really should revamp the staff here. Came here to buy a freezer, since ours is broken. Found one in stock, older lady helped us, got it purchased..... Now sitting up near customer service desk waiting for them to fork lift it down to load up in the truck. But seriously, this lady, Anna, went to ask this guy, Darren, at the customer service desk for help in locating someone to forklift the freezer down..... This Darren guy was super rude and condescending to this lady and completely ignored us (the customer), this person should NOT be at the customer service desk. He displayed unprofessional to his co-workers, in front of customers, his demeanor is not friendly or helpful whatsoever. So now we are waiting still 30 minutes after the purchase for anyone to bring this freezer up front to load in the truck. I fear this poor lady is trying to do it herself, as it doesn't appear any one of her coworkers are helping in any way at all. And as I'm writing this, the assistant mgr. Says they are still trying to find the item to get it and bring up front. Afterwards Anna came back and said she was in the back trying to help the "guys" and they couldn't find any in stock and that their system must not be updated, because it said they had 4 in stock, but apparently they have none. What is it about Home Depot that makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. I came up with a good list of things that I needed to get, and that warranted a trip to my local Home Depot. Sometimes I enjoy wondering the aisles trying to find what I need, but I generally have to rely on a lot of help pointing me in the right direction. I think that must be one of the hardest jobs in the world - trying to help people when they are just describing these strange objects or pieces of hardware that they need to find. Home Depot in Encinitas went 189% Above and Beyond typical Customer Service. Starting with RJ who helped not only get two screen doors and seal kit picked up at their expense, but followed through with phone calls. RJ and the Store Manager, Mrs. Orshee, arranged for Mark to take one of their trucks to my rental property for pick-up promptly. Pick-up was supposed to happen through a third party delivery/pick-up company. Home Depot stepped and arranged for pick-up to occur promptly as photos will be professionally taken to put the house on the market. The Home Depot 'Angels' reduced my stress level immensely. This particular Home Depot has particularly bad customer service and the manager here should probably review all the comments on Yelp and work with the staff. Overall Home Depot is a great company but the customer service at this store is extremely poor and the staff seem badly trained. I'm not a small day to day customer, I actually spend hundreds of Thousands of dollars a year with Home Depot between my companies. Luckily my home store in El Paso is top notch and well run. I would suggest shopping at Home Depot simply because their return policy is so great. They make it easy as long as you have your order number for any online orders and your receipt for any in store orders you are good to go! I hear they even take plants back when they die. This store is a nightmare. It has been a nightmare working with the Millworks department. What a joke, one guy in this dept could not even figure out if my product quote matched the measurements they did. He felt that I was wasting his time and he sized me up as a quote low price shopper. Why would I have paid for them to measure if I was a price shopper? The lady in the customer service dept could not figure out how to pull up my measurements as she did not know how to use the computer software. The Pro Desk guy was just a jerk and he was frustrated that I wanted him to help me figure out if my custom door quote matched my measurements. He paces back and forth because his feet hurt. Tried to get a door slab because ours had to be replaced. Almost rolled out of there with just the slab. Good thing we talked to Bryan (I believe his last name start with a K shaved hair, when we called to ask) and he was very informative about how to install and why we need. He actually suggested to get the prehung door and explained to us in detail how to install it ourselves. He was very confident we can do it and told us it can be done with even someone that have done it before. He took his time addressing our concerns. He even referred us to a contractor another option if we were overwhelmed. He was very knowledgeable about the products he suggested. Having a Home Depot so close to my house has been a lifesaver! Being a homeowner means you will inevitably have repairs and hopefully upgrades on a pretty frequent schedule. Some months we merely shop here two or three times, but I have been inside of this store as many as 4 times in a day. Don't ask, GRRR I love that the staff are professionals with broad knowledge. If you wander around looking clueless someone is going to approach you and ask if they can help you. I have nailed this technique, and it works! Even if you think that you know how to fix your broken oven, sick plant, plumbing, or widget, they may have better ideas. I find it best to stay quiet and let them do the talking. I wish that I could give them all 5 stars, but they carry mainstream home products, nothing that cool or sexy. When you want to pimp out your property get your butt to a specialty store. read more

Out of all the North County Home Dept locations this one is by far my favorite. Clean, huge, well stocked and they seem to carry more items than all the other stores. We found some fantastic lights that none of the other stores had,seems like they get the new inventory in first here. Tons of easy parking, not too busy and the staff is great here as well. Extremely helpful and knowledgable employees! Most people stop by here knowing what they want or need but the store is so massive it can be hard to navigate. All employees I've ever asked questions to, even if it's not their department, will stop what they're doing, walk me to what I need and make sure I don't have any other questions before they leave! I love all their garden items, the plants are always healthy and live a long time. Reasonable prices on most everything in the store. Recently picked up a pre-lite Christmas tree, the quality was amazing. A huge area for holiday items as well, lots of trees, outside lights and decorations to chose from. They also have a large selection of real trees outside and they will cut the end for you also, it's always organized when I've gone through there in years past. They've improved the checking out process by adding self service, who doesn't love that?! Has huge parking lot which is ALWAYS "full" . Large swaths of regular marked spaces are fenced off for delivery trucks, rental equipment, outside storage of large inventory items, truck bodies, company use, garden center, sales tents, and often no visible purpose at all. I've been to this location a couple times. During this visit, I had to make a return. The parking situation was a bit confusing as some of the aisles that are in front of the entrance were all blocked off with plants, etc... You would need to park in the aisles near the exits - odd... I came during a weeknight, so HD wasn't busy. I felt sorry for the cashier doing returns as she was stuck with a older lady who wouldn't STOP talking; therefore, I had to wait. I have been trying curbside pickup at Home Depot Encinitas during COVID but finding its really a crap shoot on what to expect. Always a long wait once there for some reason. If you try to call the store and actually reach someone good luck. Today after waiting 3 hour after making the order I called and got a very angry woman that said to wait 24 hours after ordering. First time hearing that. My last order was for some sprinkler heads. Why should I wait 24 hours. That's not good service! Home Depot has gone downhill fast. Not enforcing mask regulations. Employees didn't have maks on or had them around their neck. A number of customers didn't have them on. I asked the employee at check out about it and she said, " Nothing we can really do we can't force them. " I responded it's the law, call the cops. She said customers go "nuts." I wasn't happy with that anser. So I called, first the women I spoke to said they couldn't force people to wear masks, then I got transferred to the manager on duty. When I told him about my experience it was like I told him aliens were in the parking lot. Home depot enforce the regulations or hire people to enforce it. You have been an essential business during all this and made a ton of $$$$ Here is the heath order: When to wear In general, you must wear face coverings anywhere you come within six feet of others. That includes: Waiting in line to go inside a store. Shopping in a store. Picking up food at a restaurant. Waiting for or riding on public transportation. Amazing customer service. I purchased a Kohler toilet from Home Depot about 6 weeks ago. Long story short, it was leaking due to what I suspect was a manufacturing defect. I called Home Depot to ask if there was anything they could do to help out, but not expecting much as we did not have a receipt and they certainly didn't want the used toilet back. Assistant Manager R. got on the phone right away to take my call, and told me to come in and they would make sure to give me a great deal on a replacement. Why is it that every time you need help on Home Depot, you have the hardest time finding someone who works there that isn't already helping someone else. Then when you don't need anything because you know exactly what you need and where to find it, at least five employees pass by asking if you need any help! Ugh! This type of scenario has happened so many times, it's ridiculous! On another recent visit, I had previously purchased a flapper for a toilet. The newly installed flapper fixed the leak, but wouldn't consistently drop down after flushing. I brought this information to the attention of a store employee and he immediately said, "Gosh, I'm not sure". He then paused for what seemed minutes, staring into space. I assumed he was thinking of a solution to my problem, as most employees I have previously asked questions of have done. But he just kept that blank stare on his face and said again, "I don't know". He the. Proceeded to suggest I buy another flapper. Not too creative for someone who was supposed to be available to answer questions in all departments (according to a badge on his apron). On another recent trip, I walked up to the service desk and noticed a gentleman on the phone behind the desk and another group of three employees standing at another area no more than 12 feet away. I was in a rush with an appointment in a few minutes, but just had to ask a quick question. One of the three employees that was grouped near by, made eye contact with me, but made no attempt to greet me nor offer any assistance. I think for me mentally, I was in a rush, so this person was either involved in a training or some work discussion and I don't want to bother them. A few seconds later, I noticed one of the group of three still in the middle of their discussion but moved toward the counter to make a random gesture that the three followed with a jovial chuckle. This made me think they weren't involved in a work related discussion. I then was able to make eye contact again with one if them. Unfortunately, no greeting again. One of the employees then proceeded to hand out M & M s o the other two. I was sure this was not a work related discussion so I then had to interrupt and ask if anyone was working at that desk. Again, being in a rush probably didn't help matters here for me. Mentally, this whole episode took hours. In actuality it was probably a matter of a minute or two. But just having made eye contact with one person and not getting any response what so ever is incredibly frustrating. read more

If you order online for store pick up two things will happen: 1. You will NOT be notified when it's ready either by email or text. 2. When you call to find out the status you will be put on hold for as long as it takes you to quit, at least 20 minutes. 3. Because of the above you will have to go to the store and hope the order was filled, which it probably was. This is routine and you just have to accept it if you want to order that way. In the case with this store it was an item that completed a set so I had the above problem with the Carmel Mountain store too which had the remaining items. read more

Hello- I researched blinds for installation and found Home Depot and Lowes to be somewhat comparable. Since I was concerned about getting the right measurements, I scheduled a professional measurement with Home Depot for $50. Home Depot took 6 weeks to deliver the blinds. I was ok with this at that time! Once the blinds became available, I promptly scheduled the appt for installation. Part of my responsibility to prepare for the installation was for me to move everything away from the windows. It wasn't easy, but I managed to get everything out of the way. 8am sharp, the door bell rings. It's the installer. Hmmm, my appointment was scheduled from 9am-11am, but what the heck, I can get done earlier so I didn't fuss about it. The gentlemen who installed the blinds was great. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 blinds were mis-measured by their professional measurer. Here is where the issues begin... 1. From a process perspective, I would have thought the installer would turn the paperwork in and place my paperwork in a "call the customer back pile". NOPE. 10 days go by. I decided to write an email as their phone hours were limited. I didn't get any email responses other than, please call us as we have challenges due to COVID. Hmm, now I have to wait for their operating hours to call. I wait another day and call them. When I explain my situation to them, I am informed me that it is my responsibility to call it in. Hmmm, really, they charge me $50 for measurements, take my order, make it wrong, and now I have to be the one to call back. Wow. 2. I talk with a customer service rep and explain everything. She is ready to credit me $650 for the wrong blinds and ready to charge me $850 for the new blinds. When I ask her why they are much higher, she says, "well, you received a 15% discount which is no longer active." WTF? After explaining to her that I didn't think that was right and that I need to speak with a supervisor regarding my entire experience, she does honor the 15% to match the original price. I am thankful, but honestly, this is an issue and I still wish to talk with a supervisor. 3. Since my customer experience has not been optimal and have experienced multiple issues from having a professional mismeasure the windows, moving furniture (as I'll have to do it again when the new blinds come in), mismanaging paperwork, non-responsive from a supervisor (Matt J.), and their poor escalation process, I am truly saddened that a company like Home Depot can't get their act together. Since my first phone call to report the mismeasurement and request to speak with a supervisor, I have called two times per day for the supervisor (Matt J out of Texas) to resolve. Total calls 10x and still no answer. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had. Home Depot, I kindly request you to get to my house, collect these mis-measured blinds, and refund my money. I won't be shopping here again. read more

I think they have a better selection and prices that Lowe's. Not all of the staff are great but most are very helpful. It's fun for me to shop there because it is a dog friendly store. I feel very welcome and comfortable having her with me. The other dogs that customers brewing are very friendly and well behaved too. All of the staff that see her smile. read more

I ordered 2 pair of Roman blinds to keep the afternoon sun out of my office. They were delivered at no charge in a few days and exceeded my expectations for the price. They were the Chicology 48 in. W x 64 in. L Mountain Chocolate Thermal Horizontal Fabric Roman Shade, Mountain Chocolate (Thermal & Room Darkening) for about $35 each. Install was easy with my studs on top of the windows, but anchor hardware is provided for drywall. The liner is off white and the fabric appears to easily dust or wash when needed. The magnets are set at 3 intervals of approx. 16" ea. with a lower section about 1/2 of that. It works perfectly to allow full sun, or limit glare as the sun goes down in the sky. I plan to buy more for my East facing bedroom to provide shade to guests in the early Summer AM, or darken the room for a nap. Also pulled it up online for 2 neighbors.
