This might have been the friendliest experience I've had at a business in a long time in Indianapolis. I came in contact with about 5 to 6 associates and all of them greeted me and asked if I need help. I was able to find all of my items without having to look around this big store by myself not having a clue where things are. The employees are amazing and definitely appreciated by customers like me who just needed light bulbs but have not idea where to look. They also have great deals. This Home Depot did not have what I wanted in stock, but I wasn't expecting much: I was looking for disposable face masks in the middle of a pandemic, at a time when masks were hard to find. So, Home Depot didn't have them in their store, but neither did any place else, so I can't really fault them for that. But they did have a large selection of trash bags! I use these often to pick up trash around my neighborhood, and I am particular to a certain size of trash bag. The trash bag needs to be big enough to fit inside a 5-gallon bucket, but not so big that there's a lot of extra bag hanging out of the bucket. Home Depot has a generic brand of trash bags that fit perfectly inside a 5-gallon bucket that are sturdy and have little flaps to tie the bag. They work great for picking up trash. When I went to check out, there were people there to help, and they were friendly. I was in and out super quick. read more

Reserved a lawn equipment rental. Reservation was confirmed and HD charged my card. Later in the day, they cancelled the reservation and said the item wasn't available. Tried for another day and the same thing happened. HD has held two deposits on my credit card, both reservations were confirmed available, and both were cancelled. I had other supplies and help lined up both times and had to hold off on my project because HD can't get their act together or control their inventory. Awful customer experience. I will rent the equipment from ANY other rental place before I ever try HD again. read more

I walked in sooo excited to purchase my new refrigerator, since I had been contemplating on it for months. I ordered my refrigerator with Alexandra. She was very helpful with my order and deliver, however, I noticed when I got to the car she ordered the wrong item. I immediately went back in and she was able to rectify the issue. I was a little upset because it took up my time but she was not the reason for my 2 stars. Now I love coming to this Home Depot, however, I notice there are a lot of younger adults working here - Great! When there is a customer standing at the station, there should not be as many personal side conversations or even several curse words being thrown out loudly. I couldn't believe the quality of customer service that was being presented while I was standing at the customer service desk. Called asking if they had a particular sealant. I described the container, specified brand, etc. I was told it was in stock. I show up and do not find it on the shelf. I asked a staff member if they could double check as I was told it was in stock. She said she didn't see it on her app but would ask another staff member. I waited a good 15 minutes and nobody showed up to tell me otherwise. I grabbed the sealant that was available and went to check out. I asked for someone to help load it into my car as each container is around 50 lbs and I'm a small woman. I waited around 20 minutes in my car and nobody came out to help me. I ended up loading it into my car myself. 2 stars as my cashier was kind. read more

After waiting 20 minutes for my curbside order the employee came out. He made sure to voice his opinion with the fact he didn't think I got enough items for pickup. STOP!!! PLEASE READ - don't purchase countertops of any kind from Home Depot. This is regarding poorly installed countertops by Home Depot! I purchased new countertops in September 2022, from Home Depot on Hight School Rd. in Indianapolis and the results are horrifying. The installer (KBR) a sub-contractor hired by Home Depot to come to my home to install the countertops. I was working from home at the time and couldn't completely watch them. When they left, I noticed that they damaged my kitchen wall in two different places and did not bother to inform me. By November 2022, I noticed that the caulking that seals the countertop seam had completely disappeared in some places and is starting to disappear in other places on the countertop. I returned to Home Depot with a videos and pictures of the damage to the wall and the poor install and was informed that Home Depot NO LONGER USE the contractor that installed my countertop. The manager informed me that they would send out a the newly hired sub-contractor the fix the problem. This never happened, even though I returned to the store several times to complain and reached out to the countertop manager to see if I could get the repair scheduled. As of today, 1/3/2023, I still have not been scheduled. My countertops look horrible and unprofessional and my wall is damaged. I can now see that the seams in other parts of the countertop have lost caulking and water is starting to seep in through the cracks. I will NEVER do business with Home Depot again and urge others to go to another countertop installer. My next step is court. read more

Yes, good help is hard to find, but while the store looked abandoned at first and I was standing there with my little shopping list in the lumber department, having not a clue what I was looking at or looking for, I was approached by a gentlemen asking if I needed some help. Yes!!!! All the help in the world. So his name is Forrest and besides being cute, he was so sweet and helpful. Got all my lumber needs off the list, didn't have an 8-foot something so he gave me a 10-foot something for the price of the shorter one, played the guessing game as I was trying to describe what I was looking for that was only listed in measurements, somehow guessed and found exactly what I wanted and cut it to my specs. He tried to find somebody in doors and windows for me, but they were on lunch break, so he ventured into unfamiliar territory and helped me the best he could, then accompanied me to retrieve the remaining items from the list in various departments. And being that stirring a cart with 10-foot thingies on it is not something I do on a regular basis and apparently I suck at it, he took over the driving. But then again, maybe he just didn't want me to destroy the store. Either way he went above and beyond in every way. The cashier was very friendly also and got me checked out quickly. She also managed to get Harvey to run and help me load my vehicle. He was also really nice and helpful. We had to get a bit creative trying to fit all my new treasures into my vehicle, but some how he stuffed it all in there. In short, my experience was great once I found the right guys. read more

This Home Depot has the worst customer service. The items are usually opened or has been returned and then put back on the shelf. And the store is usually hard to navigate through also since customer care is nonexistent things take quite a bit longer. I would recommend a different Home Depot location as this one always fails to meet any kind of expectation. Do not go here. I love big box stores so I find myself browsing my favorites stores when time permits. Part of that also revolves around my need to get in and out quickly when I'm physically buried knee deep into a project. Home Depot has a nice paint department and I use Behr paint often. The basic face lift of most rooms can be easily accomplished here and the staff is very helpful. I've purchased flooring from Home Depot and been very happy with my selection. If you're into DIY projects you'll find a nice selection of woods, trims, and tools. The associates will cut your trim or wood to size. Also they offer do it yourself classes on Saturday which are nice. The staff is generally knowledgeable and friendly once you find them. I do find myself looking for an associate often at Home Depot. I do appreciate the variety of items I find at Home Depot but I always do comparison shopping with other big box stores. Home Depot often wins on dry wall and building materials. read more

I stop here often for items needed for my home. I'm always greeted by friendly staff when I first enter. The employees are always asking if I need any help finding anything. They're great about pointing me in the right direction for the items I'm trying to locate. I always find more than I originally came in for because they usually have good deals on every day household items. Everything is pretty easy to find within the departments, and items that I wanted have always been in stock. It's my go to hardware store, and all of my experiences there have been good. read more

Yes, William Faulkner, I concentrated on saving time and sold my soul to Home Depot when I heard their ad of "paint in half the time" for their exclusive primer-and-paint-in-one. In the end, it's not saving me time. To begin with... we had to drive 11 miles in the opposite direction of everything to get to you Home Depot. That's already time in the red. Then, I had to walk 11 miles once inside your doors to get to the paint section. I could've given you many more stars in this review if I were to consider a fellow shopper / painter extraordinaire. He gave me the low down on this new paint of yours and the fact that you can't just paint one coat of it over even white. (Update: he was right.) The guy was crazy nice and informative... and showed me the way to put the right / cheap primer down first and then go with probably 2 coats of this primer-paint. At any rate... I'm not including him in my review because he the paint angel isn't paid by Home Depot. I could say it'll would've been nice if Home Depot was inside 465 and near our home... yet I'm really glad they're all out of our way because who wants a Home Depot smack in the city? Their floor service are terrible. I been up there 13 different times because they messed up my order. First they sold me commercial carpet instead of residential and told me it was residential. Had to take that back. They also measured my rooms 3x but lost one measurement. They claim that they have professional people doing the work but it's a third part company with no sign on their beat up vane which has old carpet mixed with new so you might get fleas or bed bugs because they don't wrap the carpet. They also got my contact information wrong also. After many trips to the store they finally installed carpet but mixed up the rooms even after they were told which rooms to do. Complained to management and said they won't do anything that it's my fault that they installed the wrong rooms. Maybe if you get real contractors who speak and understand English maybe they would get it right. Will never use their services again read more

Worst appliance delivery service ever. After they didn't show up to deliver our range on Friday, I called them first thing Saturday morning. They barely offered a pathetic apology & wanted to reschedule us for the following Friday -- AFTER Thanksgiving! I bought and paid for the range over two weeks ago, waited for delivery, they didn't show up, & now they wanted to schedule delivery another week out? That would make it ONE MONTH from order and paying to actual receiving my range. I insisted that wouldn't work since we have people coming for Thanksgiving & would like to cook. Her apology kept starting with "well, with the holidays..." Finally I said "look, you are screwing up my holidays, so stop using them as an excuse for a lack of service!" They refused to deliver sooner since the schedule 'was already set' despite it being their fault for not showing up for my first delivery date. Finally, got sick of hearing excuses and making no headway, so I insisted they cancel the order. Of course, they can't process a return for at least 5 business days -- seriously?!?!! End result: We are still fighting to get a refund processed from Home Depot & picked the EXACT same model range from Menards for $50 cheaper! read more

I visit my local Home Depot at least twice a week. I'm at the point where I recognize most of the employees faces. But they don't recognize me. That's the beauty of a big box establishment:informed anonymity. Here are some tidbits about HD -the paint section is awesome for a deal. I got a $40 gallon of Behr paint for $5! I've also seen garage floor epoxy kits as well as deck staining systems deeply discounted. -The service is better than Lowes(Michigan Road) . Not better than Ace but waaaaaay better than Lowes. -The rental center should only be used in emergency situations....go to a pro rental place for better prices and equipment. Ive rented a carpet cleaner before and it did the job but the rental terms were outrageous....or maybe stupid is a better descriptor. -their tool selection is solid but you won't find higher end products like Festool. -I once saw the manager of HD embarrassingly dancing to Mariah Carey's dance hit Emotions.....in the lumber section. -Im all for people working any job they can find but I just dont get the need for a greeter....it kinda starts my shopping experience on a stale note. read more

Worst Experience I've had in a very long time. This store is not safe, and not customer friendly. The employees are very uneducated and had problems understanding orders, refused to listen to me, didn't communicate with me as they ran off to check on the order. I stopped in during Covid19. No one, I mean NO ONE was wearing a mask. Employees walking right up to you. No one cared. No respect at all. Four different people gave me four different directions. Home Depot has gotten better about homogenization of their stores. They still haven't got it down completely because not everything is where you are looking for it. But they are getting better. This store is on the West side of town and I highly recommend if you are coming from downtown to travel down 38th St to hit the international food on the way there. I purchased a washer and dryer and paid extra to have them installed. When they were delivered, the delivery guy said he couldn't install the washer hoses because there was no connection and I would have to call a plumber. Upon inspection there WAS a connection so I attached the hose myself. When I ran the washer it made noise and I wasn't satisfied. I called to return and was told since I called within 48 hrs it was not a problem. Then I got a call from the hub and they scheduled to pick it up in a few days. THEN I got a call from headquarters stating that I could RETURN the items but they wouldn't refund my money. They would however, SEND ME A $50 GIFT CARD. I was outraged. I asked what company doesn't honor returns. He said that was their policy. I asked why none of their employees I had spoken to told me that. I will NEVER shop at Home Depot again.
