After over 25 years as a devout Home Depot customer, sadly, I have to stop doing business with them. They basically beg you to get their credit card, so you do, and they don't mention that it's funded through Citi Bank, an absolute failure of a bank that's shutting their doors left and right. Their lifelong stock numbers are basically a flatline. Now they can't afford to continue lending, so without notice or explanation, they shut your card off and close your account that's been in good standing for years. Look around online, this is very prevalent with Citi. I have excellent credit though, and Lowe's started me off with an $8,000 credit limit, not that I need it, but it's kind of embarrassing to try and buy something small at HD and have your card denied, no explanation or heads up, just close it without warning. It's just disrespectful. I'll never, ever do business with Citi again, and I'll do the majority of my shopping at Lowe's from now on. read more

I went to HOME Depot today to help a disabled friend of mine get some mini blinds. As soon as we walked in the door, he got into one of their electric shopping carts and someone from customer service took him to the window covering section . Excellent help from staff there. At checkout, the checker was friendly and fast. I had left my Yeti coffee cup in my cart....and when I went back a half on hour later, it was waiting for me! The cart attendant found it and left it inside at customer service! An employee made sure I I found it and gave me a thumbs up and a smile!!!! WOW! I had such an incredible experience all around! Thank you Home Depot....you will be my first choice from now on!!!! read more

I ordered an item online for pickup at the Largo store. It was supposed to be a 3-prong Inermatic electric timer, the heavy-duty kind. I was specifically purchasing a 3 prong. The cardboard box it came in states 3 prongs. The actual timer in the box, however, was a 2-prong timer from the same manufacturer. Then I realized the box had already been opened before. So not only was I getting a used item, probably, but the item I got should never have been put in the box, to begin with. I thought at first I must have accidentally ordered the wrong item, but I double-checked and I had indeed ordered the 3-prong timer. So I paid $17 for the right cardboard box, and now have a $13.98 timer I can't use, requiring yet another trip back to the store. It's one way to turn a profit, I suppose. read more

We are loyal Home Depot customer. we also celebrate Christmas Traditionally with our LIVE TREE going up about 10 days before Christmas & remaining up until an Epiphany Epiphany (January6th). Yesterday we went to purchase our tree. There were virtually none available of a height that would fit in most homes. Those remaining were either very tall or needle bare. VERY VERY disappointing. I urge our retailers to remember tradition and bring fresh trees in later than for Black Friday. read more

One of my go to stores when we garden or house fixer upper type items. I went in to get some shelving and of course I had to get a new drill because it makes the shelving easier to install. They have a way of doing that with all the shiny new things that catches your eye. Now I have my eye on a water softener because it was in an aisle I walked down but my wife talked me down safely from the ledge because of course it was for her at least that was my reasoning. Unbelievably horrible experience with the flooring department as well as assistant store manager & CRS rep. I purchased over $7K flooring back on 4/30. Install of luxury vinyl plank was done terribly wrong & left with gaps in transitions along with holes in each entry way/corner of the house. Assistant store manager said that this would be ripped out & reinstalled correctly back on 8/5. Well, 2 months after waiting for the new order to come in now no one seems to remember this nor willing to help fix - only a partial fix is now being offered. I absolutely can not believe the lack of customer service along the assistant store manager now denying that he would fix this job. And basically calling us liars that he didn't say that, he would never say that after stating he doesn't remember the conversation at all. UNBELIEVABLE! Please review the pictures attached as they tell the store better than I can. Would anyone be happy with a "professional" install left this way? I have lived in quite a few states and have happily shopped in Home Depot's in all those states. I moved to Largo, FL and bought $3200 of flooring from the store located In Largo on June 22nd. Since that day I have been trying to get the flooring properly delivered or in lieu of that to get a refund. I have spoken to numerous associates and managers but it is now July 7th and the flooring has not been delivered into my home as promised and I have not gotten a refund as promised. This is the worst Home Depot that I have ever shopped at and will not be going back there again (other than to continue to attempt to get my refund.). Our yard sprinkler pump died a few weeks ago after eight reliable years. The Home Depot was the only hardware store that carried it's replacement. Having received the pump from an online purchase, we stopped by to pick up some PVC tubing odds and ends to complete the plumbing connection to our well. We found an extreme helpful employee with whom we didn't have to explain all of the minutia of what we were planning. He saved us a lot of time and effort in locating the exact joints and valves that were required. He didn't seemed burdened by our questions. Some hardware stores make you feel like you're imposing on their time if you ask questions. I'm looking at you, Lowe's! This store is located on the northeast quadrant of the intersection of Missouri and Ulmerton in Largo, FL. It's just north of Largo Mall. I know that you probably think that all Home Depots are the same but they're not. As with any establishment, obtaining good service is all about the people who work there! Went there last week, within just 10 minutes walking around looking for stuff I noticed 4 workers which had their masks under their chin, not wearing them properly. I can understand many customers who belligerently, and brazenly come in with no mask which is never enforced, despite so many posters warning of this before one walks in the door, but their own workers?? Shame on you, HD. I dont want to catch that disease because your are negligent and just look the other way. I can't. Sheer incompetence. Bought a washer and dryer for $2K. Guaranteed 5 day delivery. The only reason we didn't buy from Lowes. Arrives 5 days later broken. Replacement is sent 5 days later again, they accidentally sent 4 units. All actually broken. Couldn't process my refund until I came into the store. But no one told me that until I called corporate customer service. Now they can't refund it to the card on file that it was PURCHASED with because they accidentally closed it out as cash? Makes no sense. Won't type the number in. Won't use a picture of the card. Now I'm standing here waiting for my husband to arrive with the physical credit card. UPDATE: as I expected, since it was closed out in cash, they couldn't refund it on the card meaning my husband drove 30 minutes from work for no reason. The one woman tried to tell her bosses/coworkers that it wouldn't work repeatedly but not one of them would listen to her. So. When he got there we waited another half hour for someone to realize this and then count us out &2,000 in cash, $20 bills. This literally never had to happen. read more

This review is strictly for the propane refill tanks . I stopped buying propane here a couple years ago, do to them only selling halfway full tanks. Ace is cheaper and fills them up all the way . Recently, in a jam I bought a refill from largo Home Depot. To my surprise, it was actually full! I was very happy. Told everyone I know. Came back and bought another one. Then tonight, I bought one and it's so light, I think my empty was heavier! The hassle of returning it and getting my empty back , isn't worth it. We ordered all new kitchen appliances from Home Depot about 2 months ago. They were finally delivered yesterday. First time in my 60 years that a fight almost ensued over a delivery. The two guys they sent were absolute thugs. I reside in a condo so there are others to consider. Not these guys. They left a trail of trash and water. When asked to clean up behind themselves they replied that was not their job. Then when our maintenance guy got more assertive I thought the one guy was going to punch him. Not only that, they did a horrible job on installation. None of the appliances were leveled, the ice maker would not produce water because the hose was kinked in the back. They did something to my door and now it won't shut without a good push. Such a disgrace. You would think they would be concerned more about the people they hire. read more

The no-frills, industrial-like interior of this place suggests it's for serious do-it-yourselfers who know the difference between a thingamajig and a do-hickey, which is probably why I find it so intimidating. As someone who firmly believes a repair job should be no more complicated than calling the super, I need to be coddled by an obviously knowledgeable staffer who understands he needs to talk to me like the idiot I am if I decide to tackle a home repair project myself. Such employees are not to be found here. In fact, there are few employees to be found here at all. After wandering acres of aisles in search of assistance, I stopped at the customer service desk, where a clerk spent nearly ten minutes paging in vain. While I waited, I observed a long line of people waiting to pay the one working cashier, for whatever reason avoiding the several self-service registers - which I myself boycott as a matter of principle - that stood empty and forlorn. Clearly, this store is not customer-oriented. Called the store was told after 48 hours after delivery it is not their issue. This Home Depot has a very friendly staff that usually see to your needs fairly quickly upon entering the store. This is not true every time, but often enough to mention it. Sometimes the only attention one gets is from the people that want to sell you new cabinets. I suppose this just depends on the day you're there and they day they're having. The aisles aren't set up like most of the Home Depots I've seen, also. But, as always, just follow the bilingual signs to find what you need. Why not learn some espanol while you're at it? What could it hurt?! The shining star of this review, and the impetus for scribing it, is the young man who works at the tool rental section. His name is (will be edited with actual name), and he certainly cares about his customers. I had to run a line down my stack twice in two weeks (son with autism who discovered that apples are cool to flush). This employee made sure I had the right equipment and, since he wasn't sure about it, offered to switch mine out if it didn't work. Now, he may not do that for EVERY customer, but he did for me. Everything turned out ok, after all (I'm not terribly inexperienced at saving money on plumbers, you know?), but the effort was there. On Black Friday I went out of my way to go to Home Depot after work to try and snag a few of the six-inch poinsettias they had advertised for 99 cents. I expected that they might be out of stock (or at least only have a few sickly ones left), so I was pleasantly surprised when an employee directed me to several racks of them. After spending some time searching through the racks for the best poinsettias I flagged down an employee to see if the white poinsettias were included in the sale. Imagine my surprise when I found out NONE of the poinsettias were included in the sale. Even though these poinsettias matched the ad description perfectly (six-inches, regularly priced at 3.98), they were not being offered for 99 cents. Instead, they were selling a much smaller, inferior poinsettia at that price point. There were only 3 scraggly ones left and they wouldn't have been six inches tall even if you included the pot! I gave up for the night and sent an email to Home Depot customer service about the incident. The response I received apologized for the item being out of stock (which it wasn't) and pointed out that Black Friday deals were on a first-come, first-serve basis; completely ignoring my actual complaint that they were falsely advertising and using bait and switch tactics to get customers in the store. The incident left a bad taste in my mouth. From now on my money will be spent at Lowes instead. UPDATE: After pointing out to the customer service representative I corresponded with that he had not actually addressed my complaint, I was informed that Home Depot "will not be held accountable for any ad misprints or misrepresentation in The Home Depot television and radio commercial, newspaper and magazine advertisements, and/or newspaper articles, as well as The Home Depot website. Our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to ad misprints." So according to customer service, this was an ad misprint in one of the most important, highly scrutinized ads of the year and nobody caught it in time to post a retraction. I went to HD in Largo FL for paint on 2 different occasions. The 1st time in July we had this wonderful lady that helped us so much. The place was packed bc of the sale they were having that if you purchased so much paint u would get gift card. This lady would treat each customer like they were the only ones in store. Her undivided attention given to each customer before us I had fingers crossed we would get her. I was so happy that she became available before the other 2 workers. Not knowing her name to say what a great job she did caring for each customer when we went in November my husband said hopefully that lady is working. Happy to see her smiling face she ask if she could help just as she did that July day. On her apron was written "ARLEEN" but she should have "ANGEL" bc she explains bout different paints and which would be best for job you are doing. So if you're in need of paint and want a very knowledgeable person go to HD and ask for "Arleen". U won't be disappointed! In today's world these nice customer service ppl are very few...so such a pleasant experience when u have a person like "Arleen" wait on you. I'm sure management don't let workers know good comments only negative remarks. I HATE this HomeDepot. For years I have complained about so many things. I go out of my way to drive to another HomeDepot store if I have to shop there. I try to go to Lowes more just because I hate how the one on Ulmerton is. The employees are so rude. Let me say up front, Get Rid Of The Military Discount or Stop being so RUDE when people use it. It's not coming out of employees pockets. Its seems like management dictates how they should be because I have heard same speal from other Homedepot stores. It's been a never ending battle. Even at the Seminole one they started being all up in your face Rude. If there is a small percent which I find hard to believe that abuse it too bad. Doesn't mean you treat everyone like crap. That seems to be the way of the world now a days. One persons does something bad and instead of dealing with it you treat everyone like their scamming. If you have military card and the pic is the person standing in front of you smile and do your job. There has been two occasions were the cashier was just rude and full of themselves that we have left the cart full of stuff and walked off. I swear off Home Depot but then we run in to replace something that was already installed in our house. I have very little belief that things will change, I along with many others have complained over years and nothing happens. I saw a Canadian older man being polite and friendly with the horrible garden section cashier. He asked her something and she got on her high house talking loud and smug. She was like, Well I don't know how they do it in Canada but here blah blah blah. He just stood there keeping his cool. I would have been like back off. I walked by this happening this past Thursday and I said out loud can you believe how she's speaking to a customer and the people in line were like yeah what's up with that. If you go in and god forbid my husband is not standing by my side the employees walk by you, ignore you. Or if you get their attention their not much help. Oh and don't expect help loading what ever you purchase. Prices are so marked up lately because housing is up, its crazy trying to get project at home done. One good thing, I haven't had a problem returning something in a long time. I see others arguing with the return people but I have never had an issue. 13 months ago I spent nearly $15000 on a new HVAC system for my house in North Carolina. It is not my permanent residence so management from ARS put my installation on the back burner thinking it wasn't a priority. Although I was promised by Marty Fine, my sales representative that installation would start right away. In an investigation, They said they had other people needing service since they were living in their residences. Ironically I had new tenants moving in the following month which they did not know about. Of course, it was irrelevant to them. In the end, my new tenants bailed out of the agreement to move in as a condition of doing so was the completion of this new installation. Months later and THOUSANDS of dollars lost in rental income I finally found new tenants. Now nearly a year later, I have had multiple problems with this installation causing my current tenants wanting to move out. Getting great service is an oxymoron as they promise great service per their phone greeting when you call them. So, whatever you do in regards to getting a new AC system installed do NOT trust these people. I have had multiple technicians & electricians out 9 times & they still have excuses as to why my system doesn't work right. In the end, I contracted them through Home Depot as I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Home Depot over the last 18 years. Never again will I trust either of them. Was told custom order from the design department would be delivered in 7-10 days I called and discovered it was shipped in that time and it would be another couple of weeks because the person on the phone didn't know from where it shipped. UPDATE: My husband was at the VA & did ask if his Veteran's ID needed to be updated to reflect his disabled status, and they said yes it did. He now has a new ID that clearly states he is service connected disabled, which is what the cashier was arguing his ID needed to say. My main issue here is HOW this very disgruntled employee handled the situation, with such lack of respect and such a condescending and down right rude tone. Had she simply "explained" to him with a calm tone what he needed to have on his ID rather than making him feel like an unvalued customer, we could have left there with a much better experience. It is extremely disheartening to witness how some people treat our veterans, and this employee should be reprimanded for her very unprofessional behavior. read more

My grandma and I went into this Home Depot yesterday to purchase a new washer. I couldn't catch her name (she was pretty good at hiding it now that I think about it lol) but she works in the appliance section. Everything was fine until my grandma asked her simple questions she was just so rude! Her response was either "I'm getting to that hold on" or "no we don't do that" or just straight up no. When my grandma asked the lady if we needed to buy the hoses for the washer she rudely stated "I'm getting to that hold on" instead of just telling us yes or no. And then again when my grandma asked her about another cord. Then she asked us if the dryer we had was the same exact match to the dryer. We told her no we only need the washer the dryer at home still works but we measured it before we came to be sure. She told us Home Depot wouldn't do that?!!! Like what? Time comes to check out and we want to split the payment some on the card rest in cash and we tell her this and she proceeds to just rudely walk away and come back with papers and told us we need to go to the front and they'll finish us up. Crazy thing about all of it is when we walked away another customer had came up and her entire tone changed. She was answering them and said "absolutely sweetheart no problem!" We never got that tone or treat meant the whole time and I have no idea why. The worse we did was ask questions. She really upset me and my grandma and I will not be returning to this Home Depot. At the end of the day the second lady who checked us out was wonderful and had much patience for my grandma and that's what's most important to me! Horrible. Don't ever but appliances from Home Depot. Even their Corporate Headquarters responds. Took a week to deliver new Washer dryer set with pedestals even though they "were in stock." Showed up and claimed they were missing a part to washer pedestal until so no washer. Store only gave us excuses and frankly could care less. LG blamed Home Depot and they blamed delivery company who HD hired. The best they can do is maybe deliver Thursday the following week. Then we opened Dryer door (after the delivery guy said he tested it) and there was was the missing part. Admitted heir fault but won't try to accommodate a quick fix. We will stay with delivery schedule. Buy from a local appliance dealer who does care. Big Box retailers could care less. read more

I purchase a dishwasher from Home Depot in Largo. So, their contractor, Ralph's Transfer comes to install the dishwasher. This is their contract. They set it up and get it started. They leave. The dishwasher does not empty and they won't come back even though we called them within an hour. We set up another appointment for like a week later as they are not available before that. They say they are coming between 10-2. I have a meeting set up and plan to be back by 9:50. I get a call at 9:00 that they are there waiting on me. I could not answer the call as I am in my meeting. I call back in a few minutes and wait on hold for like 10 minutes. Then, the representative RUDELY tells me that the technicians will be there at exactly 10:00 and I BETTER BE THERE or they will leave. Well, guess what. I am there at 9:50. They are not there. At 10:15, I call the company and wait on hold again for like 15 minutes. Here's me still on hold praying they even show up today. HOME DEPOT how in the world do you have a contract with this company. Finally they show up. Guess what. The new dishwasher is defective. Now, I have to get them to come and get the defective dishwasher and bring a new one. Will this saga be just as difficult? Worst customer services experiences! They do not stand behind their installations at time of install or when it becomes broken due to the bad install. I am being told now that it should have been fixed back then (when it was installed and I originally complained), but now its too late and they wont take care of it, just as they wouldn't back when it was installed and I complained!?!? That was just a bathroom remodel... now I am doing the kitchen and after this experience there is NO QUESTION I WILL NOW TAKE MY BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE! As a retail store manager myself I would never tell a customer that I can't take care of them because I wasn't the manager back then.
