I bought vinyl flooring online and used their free shipping. I was told in the beginning that it would be April 10th when the 19 cases would be delivered. However, they tried to deliver them on April 1st. They used a tractor trailer with a 53-foot trailer to deliver them. There was no way that would fit in my yard! Now after staying at home every day since because someone has to sign for the delivery, they still can't get my merchandise to me! When I call, they keep giving me excuses. I spent almost $800 on what I wanted. My husband took a week off work to be able to help the contractor, and still, no flooring. I asked for a refund and until it gets delivered they can't/won't give me one. Needless to say I will never trust them again and most certainly won't purchase anything else from them! read more

I bought some house cleaner from my power washer that had worked for me in the past. This time the product did not do anything after several attempts. So as a matter of principle I decided to take it back. First the girl at the counter that really didn't care at all about her job, told me they couldn't take it back because the containers weren't full. I told her what had happened and that I had pictures that this stuff didn't remove anything from the side of my house. She said there was nothing she could do so I asked to speak to a manager. Obviously the manager doesn't care about their job either, because they wouldn't come to the front of the store. The girl made several attempts to locate the manager and told me that she couldn't find them. After I told her my next step was going to be the contact the corporate office and the better Business bureau the manager shows up and acted like she was doing me a favor and returning a product that didn't work. So much for their supporting what they sell. Maybe I should just buy online from now on. I tried some mild bleach, just to be sure and the mildew came fight off. read more

Needed a garage door opener went to Home Depot. Why don't ask me I'm a Lowe's girl. Sales men wasn't very help full at first until he figured out that I was a serious buyer. Bought the door opener and the service to install as well. He took my money but never scheduled the install. After several phone calls between Home Depot and the instillation company it took 7 days for my instillation to happen. Home Depot needs to do better. The worst drive up/curbside pick up ever. I have tried this location four(4) times and always the same results. Check in and wait 15-20 minutes before having to go inside and pick up your order from the customer service counter. The best thing to do is go get everything yourself or not order curbside. Of course this can sound lazy which I love going inside but for anything aside from Trager stuff, I now go to Lowe's for the perfect locker/curbside pickup. read more

I rented an Uhaul van via this home depot. They made a duplicate reservation once I notice it by getting 2 separate text messages and emails, I immediately canceled one of the reservations. I checked my account to see if I was charged for both. I had 2 pending charges for a deposit. Once I returned the vehicle, I should've been issued a refund for the difference between the deposit and how much the rental cost. Not only was I not refunded the difference but was charged for both deposits. My biggest issue is I have yet to be able to talk to someone about the charges. No one is answering the store phones, 800 number says contact the store, virtual chat says contact the store but once again no one is answering store phone. And I'm expected to wait a week before I can see if I'm going to get refunded since banks are closed until Tuesday read more

By the time I reached self checkout I was all over the place with unloading my basket. An employee by the name of Jeremie stepped right in and started assisting me with ringing up each item. Unbelievable! Purchased a last minute Frasier fur on a slow, cold Wed evening. Zero customers in the outdoor section, 2 customer service people sitting around doing nothing. The young lady checked me out, very easy, great! Now to pick out my tree, get it trimmed and netted. I'm going to set a record for in& out! Not so fast. Apparently, Neither of the two individuals in the department can help me with the tree trimming and netting so they will call someone. She pages someone, nothing. I stand around for 10 to 15 minutes and then I remind her I'm still over here waiting, she pages again, nothing. I wait another five and then as I approach her again, she says oh someone's coming. So I wait another five minutes and then finally I walk back to the counter and say forget it I don't want it credit my card to which she replies oh I can't do that out here you'll have to go inside to the customer service desk. Shout out to Austin and Freddie at Home Depot Matthews! We ordered 6 white outdoor planter pots after verifying online that they had 31 in stock. We arrived this morning (Wednesday 8/24) to pick them up. We were told that they only had 2 in stock and refunded the price of the remaining 4. When I said that we saw online that they had 31 in stock yesterday, Austin checked the online inventory and agreed that something was up. He and I went to the garden area and he found lots of the pots! He apologized and along with Freddie brought all 6 pots to our car. The amazing customer service is that Freddie did not charge us for the 4 pots because he felt we deserved it for the inconvenience! He also asked that Austin be recognized for his customer service in finding the remaining pots. I am so impressed with these guys. Thank you Home Depot for having such terrific associates! read more

I'm a Vietnam veteran did not have picture ID but I do have VA Insurance card which they have taken many times before,also have DD214,The cashier said must have picture ID well I hope she understand not all veteran have a picture ID. I always feel like I should be supporting local hardware stores, but at this point in my life, it's hard to choose the Mom and Pop shop over Home Depot when the same broom or wrench is $10 more expensive at the former. Normally, you'd point to the independent store's superior customer service, and you'd be right, but the customer service at this particular Home Depot is so amazing that the point is moot. Worst of the worst! Home Depot's customer service, delivery and installers, service overall is the bottom of the barrel. After paying close to $6000 for new appliances, the delivery guys not only damaged my appliances, they also damaged my newly renovated home. The delivery guy s told me that they would not install my appliances, I would have to schedule someone else to come out to install them because they had 8 more deliveries that day. I paid for the installation by the way. Nope they didn't install them. After multiple calls to customer service, they sent another delivery crew out to install. The damaged fridge was returned, a replacement reordered and paid for, it took Home Depot nearly a month to refund me again only after multiple calls to customer service. I was told by the upper level customer service team that when everything was resolved they would reimburse me for all my trouble. Guess what, I was offer $150 for all this??? I told them not to bother, I probably wouldn't receive it anyway, it was an insult. My storm door and doorway was damaged, my granite was chipped, my new black stainless steel fridge was scratched all down the front. I'm stopping there, it's a lesson learner. NEVER will buy anything from this horrid company again!! NEVER, EVER!!! The one star review is being very gracious, I would leave them a negative 5 stars if that were an option. On hold 54 minutes! Karla or Carla in customer service is an oxymoron! She called about an on-line order that was delayed. I told her the information she was providing was incorrect, that I had an email from a manager and she told me she'd connect me to a manager. I was on the line holding 34 minutes while I drove to the store, and then 10 additional minutes while I waited in the customer service line, only to hear her 15 steps from me, actually pick up the phone again with bad, incorrect news. My phone showed I was on that call a total of 54 minutes. When she realized I was in the line and we hung up our phones, she called the manager who was there in 2-5 minutes and I left satisfied. Add pain to misery, the recorded message I listened to repeatedly was, "What's better than saving money, saving time..." Ha, what a joke! read more

This is one of the best Home Depots I visited of late. Our visit took place Feb 2016. The staff was responsive to our needs when I went there is February to purchase items needed for a home renovation. Initially I was disturbed due to the lack of help but the managers worked to get all we needed and even had their staff deliver our purchases to out home for free. I've returned a couple times although we live in Fort Mill because they looked out for us. My husband wasn't feeling well and it was taxing to have him up and down in this store but once they started helping...we were sold on this location. The manager in the paint area really know her stuff. I had purchased some paint while in the British Virgin Island and the paint job done was a disaster. She advised to use a gray primer so the red would be deeper brick color. She was spot on. The painted area came out beautiful. We needed AC for the renovation too and one staff member told us there was none because they were out of season but they existed in the store. Asking the right person got us exactly what we needed. Also on our list was window blinds which they had sourced. I went to a different store to get them while my husband went home to accompany the delivery of our items from this store. Thousands of dollars have been spent at these big box stores and it is bothersome when they treat customers like they don't matter. I'd thank the paint area manager for recognizing our needs and ensuring we got the much needed help we received. read more

I walked in my my german shepherd (Service dog) and my puppies like I always do and this woman leans in and tries to pet my dog me being startled my shepherd does his job and begans to bark. Out of nowhere all these people start staring at me INCLUDING employee and this older man says to me you need to leave I've been getting too many complaints (mind you this happened in a two-three minute span) I told him I'm just looking for some wood. Another worker (lady) she's trying to help me but (Vincent) the dude says "we can help you but you need to take him out" as if my shepherd was doing something wrong. Ive never been treated like this here not with my shepherd and I've always had compliments on my shepherd. I will not be returning to this place again. I had gone in after work with my husband one day, and was surprised that the same person came up to talk to my husband after he was in there earlier in the day. She was very pleasant and gave us honest opinions about the fans we were interested it. It seems that every trip I make to Home Depot, no employee tries to pressure us into buying certain items. They just inform us of what would be good for the things we are looking for. They were always helpful explaining how to install things as well. Something else that I thought was great about Home Depot was that they even accept competitor's coupons! Now I love saving money, and knowing that just made me love them even more. I honestly don't know if I can express into words how much I love this Home Depot. My husband and I were looking to do a raised garden bed this year and Brad in lumber was AWESOME! He actually drew out a sketch of the raised bed for us and cut the lumber we needed for the project. He even instructed us on exactly which nails we should buy and how to put it together ourselves. Also, as he spoke to us about our idea of the raised bed he spoke with such passion, because he loves talking about what he does, which is helping customers with their lumber projects. Also, hubby and I are thinking about upgrading our doors throughout our upstairs and Dave or David.. not sure... in the door department knows his doors. He gave us a entire 10min overview of everything door related. He told us if we did it ourselves how we would measure and cut out the door jams. Also, other types of doors that we should consider if we were looking to add value to our home. Props to Home Depot you have some great people working for you! read more

11/26/18 (Monday) I special ordered some vinyl tiles that were to come in 11/30/18 (Friday)at the "1837 Matthews Township Pkwy" "Home Depot". 12/3/18 (Monday) I called to confirm they arrived before driving to the store. I was told 15 boxes were in, but still waiting on 3 more boxes. I told the lady they were all supposed to be here 3 days ago. She said she would call vendor and get back with me. She contacted me back and said the remaining boxes would arrive 12/8/18 (Saturday) 12/8/18 (Saturday) I called store and was on hold for 21 minutes before hanging up; never spoke with a person, just listening to Christmas music and repeated message telling me "how important my call is, and please remain on the line". 12/9/18 (Sunday) I called the store and was told all boxes were in. Then the lady called me back and said the boxes were someone else's, so, we are still waiting on my remaining boxes of 18" square vinyl tiles. I asked what she was going to do about this problem, seeing as I ordered some times that were to take 4 days to arrive, and now 15 days later they are still not here. All she said was could do is wait for boxes to show up. I informed her I was going online to give bad reviews for this experience. She asked would I like to speak to a manager. I said I had spoken with several Home Depot associates and I didn't think I could speak with another without getting majorly upset and cussing someone out. I hung up and now I am informing others as to how they do business. P.S. All the associates I spoke with unremorseful. They never said "I'm sorry". They all acted like it was no big deal. Over a week of poor communication and empty promises from store employees (super unprofessional team). Unable to use a dishwasher and then not being able to use our sink as a result of their negligence. Nightmare experience. I would highly advise avoiding Home Depot to everyone, especially for large purchases like appliances. The subcontractor they used had a 1.6 Google rating and we now know why! Bought a blower here with a 2 year warranty and purchased the extended warranty. The associate who sold it to me convinced me to buy the Ryobi instead of the better ECHO blower that I was about to put in my cart. He said that the warranty on it was great and that it was even better quality than the ECHO. I was so wrong to go with the "cheaper option" with a "great warranty" This blower has been nothing but problems since I first bought it. It refuses to start when following the directions exactly, cuts off after 1-2 minutes of normal use when it does start, and finally just stopped working entirely today. I took it to Home Depot where I bought it and was redirected to the Tool Department. I was told that problems with the carburetor (kinda important) are not covered by warranty after 30 days. Basically the entire warranty is a scam, especially the extended warranty as they will neither "repair" or "replace" without a fee greater than 30% of the original cost of this horrible tool. As much as it pains me to go back to Lowes, they never charged me to repair an item that is under warranty. read more

I'm so frustrated with the time I just wasted at HD Matthews. I needed to find a piece of lumber to use as trim for a small bathroom project. There are tons of workers there at 1pm on Friday, but none are trained to assist. "Jerry" is who needed to assist. He was paged, but didn't respond. I waited in the aisle and listened to the frustration from another customer who said he was just going to purchase what he "thought" he needed since it was impossible to find anyone with knowledge to assist available. I thought he was being impatient until "Jerry" never came out. After 15minutes of waiting in the aisle, I gave up! May be time for some cross-training if Jerry resides in the back of the store out of site and doesn't respond to pages. I will not be returning! read more

If i could leave ZERO stars I would. Be very cautious about using the Home Dept installers for any work. I have waited ten plus days for the consultant to visit my home to consult and provide an estimate for the work. He was to be here today at 2 pm . It is now 3:45 and he has NOT shown up. I called the office at 2:30 to see if he was coming. I have not received a call back from the office or a "courtesy call" from the installer. I am done. In this day and age of cell phones this way of doing business is unacceptable. If this is their behavior before the job even begins I can only wonder how long the job might actually take or how good a job would actually be done. Only if you have the patience of Job and a lot of flexibility on the time frame for the work to be done should you consider Home Depot and their installers. I would NOT recommend investing anytime with them. Find a reputable local contractor and just get the job done. I am at my parent's home in Charlotte NC. read more
