The experience of getting your new flooring and carpet, I thought the biggest challenge was saving up the money. Home Depot Went out to measure my home 3 different times. Apparently overlooking to measure different rooms and closets, this last visit they did not even have the measurements of the gentleman they sent. I called the store where I was transferred and placed on hold. I attempted to call the Measure Dept twice being on hold for about 20 min. I finally called and asked to Speak to Andrew, Andrew was the manager who explained my last visit was not recorded and they did not have measurements of the laundry room. However for the trouble he explained they would cover the cost. (Nice of him) Except that I still had copies of the last quote where they failed to measure the laundry room which is in the hallway that was measured. That quote was about 8,000. Andrew explained he would go over and remove what he could for my inconvenience like the appliance relocation. When Andrew called me back he explained my quote was over 9,000. I printed my estimate and went to the store to see if Andrew could explain where the extra 1,000 came from. Andrew explained that change was made last Sunday, I asked if they usually contact the customer when the quote has changed by that much to inform them. Andrews said yes and sorry no one contacted me. Bad customer service? Did I get charged for complaining about it ? Who knows? The Store Manager is on vacation, that's my story thanks for reading. read more

i took all of my military paperwork to home depot to sign up for my discount, my dd214, MY ORIGINAL CARD, AND MY ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE. THAT WASN'T GOOD enough - i am suppose to have the card with my picture on it. i'm 83 yrs old and when i got my card they didn't put your picture on it. she said that's what i had to have, so they wouldn't give me my discount. i used this same paperwork at lowes and they didn't have a problem giving me my discount. home depot just doesn't want to give any military person their rightful discount!!!! i guess that means that i will only do my shopping at lowes from now on. hal newell read more

Home Depot even fails to be a middleman for Cabinets. I ordered cabinets six months ago and all my pieces are still not here and they can't do anything about it and refused to get on the ball and get the stuff over here. The entire order is screwed up and I still don't have a kitchen, every cabinet I bought was either scratched banged up dented smashed they had to re-order two cabinets because they were damaged and showed up damage still. Either they just shipped out the damaged cabinets thinking I wouldn't notice or get some crappy repair to it hoping that it would fly. But In either case they jam this project up by two months after the expected four month order time. This place is horrible don't even think about getting Cabinets here. I can't put countertops in if I don't have cabinets to put them on top of. I would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

I purchased a magic chef freezer this morning online and had a friend pick it up for me. When we took it out of the box, there was a very noticeable dent in the front center of the freezer. At first it didn't really bother me too much however the freezer is in my kitchen so each time I walked by it ...I noticed it more and more throughout the day. I decided to call Customer service to see what my options were and spoke with Colleen. Colleen was amazing!!! I was aware it was the last one in stock at the Crismon location as I got that message when I purchased it. She patiently listened to my issue and empathized with my situation. She was able to locate my order quickly and I told her although the dent was not a dealbreaker and I could live with it ...it was just bothering me since it was a brand new appliance And in a prominent spot in my kitchen...I literally walk by it multiple times a day. Colleen assessed the situation and offered me a discount on the freezer for the dent which made me feel a lot better about my purchase. She processed that discount via a credit back to my credit card which was very convenient for me as well. I have not visited this store in well over 3 years. I always trusted the Home Depot. My Job had me manage installation projects nationwide and often something would be missing and solved with a quick trip to the local home depot any where I was. I am retired now but I still passed a Lowes that is closer to me to go to the Home depot at this location whenever I needed something. On my last visit I only needed a few small items for a little home project and went to the self checkout which I loath and proceeded out the door. I didnt put my items in a bag since it was small stuff and I dont need anymore bags to throw away so I had the items in my hands on my way to the car. Suddenly from behind me I hear shouting " Excuse me sir .. excuse me .. you didnt pay for that!!" Since I had indeed paid I didn't think much of it and assumed it was someone else. A chunky young lady out of breath is then to my right and still saying Excuse me sir, excuse me ... you didn't pay for that! I am now a good 15 yds from the entrance and she has been screaming the whole time. I looked at her as if she was insane and with my receipt still in my hand I casually showed it to her. I was embarrassed and humiliated. People were staring at the obvious thief. I have not one but 2 college degrees, worked at wonderful job and earned the respect of my peers and some industry awards along the way and am now enjoying retirement. I was racially profiled period. She didn't apologize, she said nothing .. looked at the receipt and went back to the store panting from the run. I bring two empty propane tanks. I leave them outside, hoping nobody steals them while I go inside and pay. I pay for the two swaps, come outside, use the little kiosk. It tells me to put the tanks into the cubby... but no cubby opens. I check every door, I wait, I hit the "call for assistance" button. I then sit outside the home depot and wait about 10 minutes in the hot sun like an absolute moron. I go into the store, again, hoping nobody steals my empty tanks. Two people are standing RIGHT BY THE DOOR. One of them comes out to help me. He says the doors don't always work... I add "the call for help button doesn't work either." The son of a bitch looks right at me and says "no, it works, we just ignore it" AND THEN LAUGHS. I realize it might be a lot of fun to laugh with your fellow employees about how you IGNORE PAYING CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY NEED HELP, but please understand that we, THE PAYING CUSTOMERS do not think it's so funny. This is for the flooring dept. I went to get carpet for a home we are selling. First lady I talked to was clueless. I asked for an estimate and gave her the mesurements. She told me the price per yard. Yes, I see that to lady. How much for the yardage I told you installed. She calculated it out. I asked which pad that included. "Oh, pad is extra". Geeze moron, E S T I M A T E!! So she gave me the price including the pad and tax. "Ok, lets try this again, how about Pad, Carpet, tax and INSTALLATION!!! Do you not know what an estimate is? I should have walked out. Anyways, I finally got the estimate and tried to set up a time for install. "We have to measure first". Huh, what about the "3day install"?! Cut to TWO WEEKS LATER they finally measure but never call afterwards. I try to call them and get the run around from many people so I finally drive down there because none of the 8 or 9 people knew how to transfer me to the flooring dept. I walk in and sit down and show the guy the estimate. He said they couldnt give me the pad upgrade because the sale went off. "Sorry but that's because YOU took so long to measure!!!". They finally gave me the upgrade after contacting 2 supervisors. I paid the bill and said they would call to set up a time for install. Installers called and set up install FOR 7 DAYS LATER!!!. So much for the 3 day install, the reason for going there in the first place. Itturned out to be 3 WEEKS!. Get your nails and lightbulbs from there, avoid the flooring dept at all cost. My Boyfriend and I shop at various Home Depot stores in the Phx Valley on a regular basis spending at least $50k a year on materials, supplies and parts for our business of Fixing and Flipping Mobile Homes. My boyfriend SERVED our fine Country in the Army when he was young and is a VETERAN. My complaint is that Home Depot doesn't recognize him as a Veteran because he has a different type of ID. The majority of businesses including LOWES, which is Home Depot's biggest competitor, recognizes ALL VETERANS. But oh... not Home Depot. It is extremely pathetic that Home Depot does not recognize all Veterans. It is an insult to those who served and are classified as a Veteran everywhere else.So because of this, only some Veterans can get a 10% discount but others cannot. After several attempts of voicing our frustration to each Home Depot that we frequent, we have now made a decision that we are now going to just shop Home Depot's main competitor, LOWES because we are tired of being discriminated against. It's absolutely infuriating to see these holiday commercials that advertise appliances in time for the holidays when I ordered my appliances September 4th, they were supposed to be delivered today, and we were just told we won't see them until December 29th. Why put out a new advertisement with promises that you can't keep? Before writing this review, I had to accept a notice that said during COVID, businesses at doing the best they can. I understand but continuing to promote and sell items while outing unrealistic expectations in consumers heads is shameful and greedy. Because of COVID, we checked the status of our appliances every few weeks so that when we had our cabinets torn out and donated our old appliances, we wouldn't be left without for months. Every time we checked, the order was on track. LIES! Now what are we supposed to do? We won't have a kitchen for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. Thanks, Home Depot. This store claims that they are "enforcing social distancing".... Reality is: nobody cares. I was standing in line for almost 20 minutes to pick up an online order. While I was trying to keep the distance of 6 ft to the customer in front of me and to the customer behind me, the customer behind me came closer and closer and at the end he squeezed himself in front of me. He had arrived approximately 5 minutes after me and when I talked to "Merchandising assistant store manager Michelle L.", telling her that it wasn't this gentleman's turn, she asked me to leave the store, otherwise she would call the police. Someone already started to help the guy who thought that social distancing is a nice way to squeeze into the line. Yet another sub-par experience from this company. I did an online order and when I got to the store, I hit the "I'm here" button on the app. After 5-7 minutes, ... nothing. I ask an employee who was going back into the store to let the Pick Up department know I'm here. After several more minutes, a woman finally comes out and gets the order number. After several more minutes again ... nothing! I then go into the store and after a few minutes, I get my order. I then asked to speak to a manager (Doug?) and the ONLY thing he says is "sorry". I ordered a kitchen base cabinet and three others. I posted to the Home Depot sight that two of the four arrived damaged. Home Depot then denied my posting as they said it was shipping damage, as if, they are not responsible for shipping damage. If they aren't then who is. Were they damaged at the factory or in transit. Who knows. If you look at the Home Depot sight about half of the cabinets arrive damaged. I post mine were damaged and they said "NO" so I post on Yelp. The cabinets are worth the money if they arrive in one piece, but HD does not know how to do that. read more

Everyone there was very mice and helpful EXCEPT the "Door" guys. They spoke to me the first time like I was stupid and did not offer to help me unles I asked very direct questions. So I went and did the rest of my shopping and asked someone else for help with closet doors, but it is job specific, ugh. Back to the door counter only to be ignored until another employee asked if I had been helped. I said, no and that I do need help. So the door guy had to get off his ass and help me get the doors I choose. He was rude and short with me. We had our kitchen refaced this past summer and it looks beautiful . We were updating our floors after and our installer said it was no problem to wait on the cabinet to floor molding until our floors were done. We were told it's an easy process all we had to do was call. 2 unanswered phone calls and 2 in person visits to the store and we still have no resolution. I asked today to have this escalated and NEVER received a return call. Give me the supplies and we'll figure it out but at least have the common courtesy to address this after the 15k was spent. I will waste more of my time tomorrow going to the store and my next stop is the district manager. My time is valuable and I'm not excited about something that is "easy" not being addressed. read more

The last four online orders were a complete disaster, message me saying the order was ready, i get there nobody comes outside, so i go inside, they off loadedmy order to use the cart for another order, then told me to see if i could find a cart. Then my entire order wasn't there , took over 30 minutes to locate the item. Lady in line in front of me was missing an item from her online order. Customer service in the different departments is terrible too, either they dont know or they hide from you. Lowe's is further away but thats now my only shopping spot, cleaner store , much much nicer people, have never messed an order up. Im sure its not all Home Depot stores, but most definitely is the Crismon and Southern location. read more

I explained what I needed not using the correct terminology. She knew exactly what I needed and grabbed everything I needed. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service! Checked in at 5:45 p.m. for curbside pick up, and no one helped me as of 6:30. No one answers the phone (I called multiple times and let the phone ring and ring), and we had to call the 1-800 number to see if they could get anyone to answer from their end, which they did. The manager supposedly was going to make sure the order was brought out, which never happened. After nearly 45 minutes waiting by my car in the Arizona heat I'm having to go inside, which as I live with people with compromised immune issues I didn't want to do during the pandemic. They claimed they brought the order out, which was a lie. They didn't offer any apology, and again I didn't appreciate the lies. I will go to Lowe's from here on out. read more

March 7, 2022 I went to the Home Depot at Power and Germann , I ordered, set up delivery for and paid for 53 bags of concrete. Delivery was scheduled for 3/25/2022 between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. At 4:00 pm I got a text message telling me that my delivery was being rescheduled for March 30, 2022 I called the Queen Creek store and was told that "the system " kicked the order out to the Apache Junction store as it was closer to the delivery point (not true, but I digress). The Apache Junction store built the pallet, but the delivery people didn't pick it up was the excuse I was given. I had people scheduled to help move the bags from the street to the back yard and and to help mix and pour my slab. Apache Junction store Delivery Supervisor "Vinnie" refused to help saying "nothing he can do." Queen Creek however is bringing the concrete in the morning. I love Home Depot but will avoid the Apache Junction store like the plague!! read more

Although Home Depot isn't as pretty as Lowe's, we can always find what we are looking for or a pleasant person who can help us find it and properly advise us on how to use it. I love that if we are looking for something, but can't find it we can actually find a person working there willing to help us. And they don't just tell us, "Yeah, it's in aisle....," they will take the time to walk us to that aisle and find the item. Great customer service. Thanks for all of your help! read more

What an awesome experience! My husband and I were in the market for track lighting and carpeting. After stopping at Lowe's and walking out empty handed because we couldn't find anyone to wait on us, we went to Home Depot. I went to the carpet department and was immediately asked if I needed any help. It was really my lucky day in getting Debi to assist me with all my carpeting questions. She was a wealth of information and steered me to the best carpet for my money. She sealed the deal and sold me a beautiful, thick, high quality carpet for a very reasonable price. We then headed to the lighting department and got an older gentleman to help us there. He was very helpful and spent a lot of time with us and went back and worth with us from electrical to lighting. After this experience, I'll definitely be going to Home Depot first and I'll think twice about going to Lowe's anytime soon. read more

I spend with our company about 800k per year easily. Today wanted a dishwasher for my home. Ask for help and lady ask a person to help, she frankly said and I quote "I don't think so, I'm expecting a person". I actually had to say, you have a phone right there, call a person please. Then what was in stock really wasn't or so they said. Thank goodness I spent my money at Lowe's instead. I will be looking to take all of our other business there also and ridding ourselves of a store that has gotten WAY to comfortable treating customers like nothing.
