All the supplies I needed were in stock and the store was very clean. I am operating out of state for the week and needed some essentials that Home Depot often provides. It was great to see such a well-kept location. JR jumped at the opportunity to help us as we were checking out. He saw the quantity of supplies my company was purchasing as we work out of state and made the process as smooth as possible. He even doubled checked to make sure nothing was rung up twice or incorrectly. Great employee. read more

I ordered an item for free delivery the next day. I waited for 4 days, but I got no communication from HD as to why my order was not delivered. I ordered again for pickup this time. The store did not prepare for pickup. The customer rep. did not know what happened. The item was finally filled while waiting in the store for more than 15 minutes. Contractors and home owners please be aware........... iam a contractor and have been buying almost everything from this location for years, ordered a special entry door few months back, when the time came to install it the door had a few problems, size, finish, features, locking mechanism etc. tried contacting millwork and the gentleman in that department took my information to pass it on to the person incharge of special orders becky Shapiro, few days later she called me with the worst attitude on the planet yelling and not even given the chance to explain anything, as I tried to tell her what the problem in hand is. her response is iam not having this conversation with you. But just like everything else good it's bound to come to an end, it's a shame that this is happening in a place of business like this, and have to deal with this kind of business ethics. This is a review that describes the terrible customer service and management incompetence around a botched order by the Home Depots in Norwood and the two stores in Quincy. The problem started on 10/24/21 when I went to the Norwood store with the intent of purchasing a NEW Weber Genesis ii E-315 propane grill. It was a seemingly simple purchase except that the employees MISTAKENLY ordered me a natural gas E-315 grill. This problem was further compounded when employees at this store sent me a FLOOR MODEL OF THE WRONG GRILL. When I attempted to have the order sent back for the correct grill, it took hours of calling and negotiating with Norwood employees and the delivery truck missed two days of pickup. Finally, I had to speak to a Norwood manager to arrange a pickup by a Home Depot truck and employee. I physically witnessed the employee loading the grill onto the truck. For the following two days, I tried to track the arrival of the grill. I received the runaround for three days and Norwood managers told me the grill was sent to one Quincy store and then the other Quincy store. Finally, I was told by a particularly customer UNFRIENDLY manager named JEREMY at a Quincy store that the grill could not be located. He even wondered if I was not being truthful stating that the grill was never picked up. The implication was that I was hiding the grill in my yard! The Quincy and Norwood managers stated that they will only refund my money if I deliver the grill that HOME DEPOT HAS LOST. HOME DEPOT HAS STOLEN $880 OF MY MONEY AND WILL NOT REFUND ME. We have bought many appliances at Home Depot and mostly there has not been a problem. However, this is a real account of a purchase going awry and the inability of an incompetent system and rude and poorly trained managers unwilling to help you with the purchase. BECAUSE OF THE INCOMPETENCE OF NORWOOD AND QUINCY STORE MANAGERS, HOME DEPOT IS WILLING TO STEAL MY $880. MY WARNING TO OTHER BUYERS OUT THERE IS THAT THIS SAME SITUATION COULD EASILY HAPPEN TO YOU IN THIS CUSTOMER UNFRIENDLY CHAIN STORE. I am finding other legal and financial remedies to my situation but I will never spend another penny at Home Depot and I would recommend the same to any of you who are thinking about major purchases there. I had an extremely rude encounter with a staff member. I was looking for a particular smart lighting device. I checked online before arriving and it said they had 8 in stock. When I looked in the location there were no more on the shelf. I could see that there were extra boxes above that could not be reached. It took me 10min just to find someone working in the store and when I went up to him he looked disgusted. I explained that I was looking for an item that says it is in stock but not on the shelf. I explained what the item was and he said "First of all, I don't even know what that is." Great start, knowing he's not very knowledgeable about common products. Clearly very annoyed, he tried telling me that what it says online doesn't mean that's what's in the store and he doesn't know how often it gets updated. Obviously this should be live and unless the remaining 8 items were in people's cart at that time, there should have been some in stock. He said "Maybe if you actually check with someone in that department, they would be able to figure it out." I had an online order which was cancelled in the store, however they called me to tell me that I had to come in person for a refund. I go to to the store and wait over a half an hour for them to resolve the 'IT' issue. It took them a half an hour just for them to escalate this to a manger. I came in to buy an under the sink hot water dispenser. I was about to call a plumber to hook it up for me. While I picked it up from the shelf an employee named David Wiener asked me if I needed any help. I confessed that I have no idea what I'm doing and just needed this thing so the plumber can figure out the rest. David didn't let go and talked me into installing it myself. He walked me throughout the store and put in my cart all the parts I needed. He opened the packages and showed me in detail how to work with each piece, what to look out for and answered all my questions. When I got home I gave it a go and it all worked exactly as David described it. I had all the parts I needed, nothing extra and nothing missing. They saved me $250 in plumber costs and made me feel proud of my work. read more

I have had consistently bad experiences at this Home Depot. There may be two staff members who are knowledgeable and not rude. Their services are not helpful, they do not allow reservations for truck rental, which renders the service mostly useless. They have also in the past claimed that I've picked up items that I have bought for curbside pick up, when I have not picked them up, and I've had to dispute the charges. Go to Lowe's instead and save yourself some headaches. read more

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HOME DEPOT CREDIT CARD. I signed up for credit card and charged 30. In January 2020. Never received the card or bills and I just got a call in April 2020 for $104.00 past due. Two late payments for more than I purchased and they refused to remove them they haven't sent me a bill haven't received a credit card 100% rip off and they ruined my credit rating. read more

My wife and I recently undertook a remodeling project of our home. During the course of the project, we spent a significant amount of money at the Norwood Home Depot. As part of the remodel, we ordered a suite of new appliances, including a dishwasher. When we opened up the dishwasher box there was a massive gash right down the center of it. This was not just a scratch (that I could have dealt with) the dishwasher was literally torn apart right down the middle, like a tin can. I called the Home Depot to try and get a replacement dishwasher and I was appalled by their customer service. I was continuously put on a seemingly permanent hold in the appliance center. I actually had to call in 6 times, over the course of a number of hours, to speak with a human being. To add insult to injury, I was then transferred all around the company and then told call a corporate line. When I called the corporate line I found that I speaking with someone in a call center in India. India, Seriously? I purchased the dishwasher at the Norwood Home Depot, not Mumbai! At this point in time I have spoken with everyone I possibly could and I still have no resolution. But I do have a kitchen that cannot be completed, with Thanksgiving right around the corner. BUYERS BEWARE - stay away from the Norwood Home Depot. They will not stand behind their products. read more

First as an electrician - don't buy any lighting fixtures from any Home Depot location - they suck and I usually end up of returning them, so I won't install them anymore. I'm not a plumber but I've bought enough of that stuff here to know it is also junk. Went to pick up some items that a contractor (working at my house today) needed. When I walked in and explained this to the man working the "consumer" help desk he told me I needed to go to the "pros" desk at the other end of the store. The woman working there treated me with barely veiled contempt. When I explained that the "other" desk had sent me (obviously a homeowner, not a "pro") to her, she said she couldn't understand why that had happened. And, she continued to treat me like crap as I went back to her for help on various items. Ultimately, a couple of guys working there did help me find what I needed (hence my 2 stars, would have been 1 star otherwise), but this woman was just intolerable. I can't understand why HD would employee someone like this. This store should get its act together. I ordered an appliance from Norwood Home depot that was set to be delivered on Thursday, March 3rd. We received an email on Monday, February 28th that our new delivery date was Saturday, March 5th. On Saturday, March 5th, we received a call that there was a "glitch in the computer" and that the earliest possible new delivery date is Thursday, March 10th. read more

While I do enjoy Lowe's, the Dedham store (closest to my house) is always so busy, congested and overpopulated, that it's always such a relief walking into this store. This specific Home Depot location, right on the Automile (Route 1) in Norwood is never THAT busy and regularly has plenty of parking and all the great amenities I enjoy seeing in any hardware superstore of this sort. The only time I've ever seen this place really hopping with customers is in the middle of April / early May when people are doing garden work and yard work. Then the garden center gets overloaded with people, but other than that, nothing too bad. This Home Depot is spacious, neat and clean 100% of the time. Never have I found a mess of any sort. Stockage is amazing.... they always have exactly what I need, and the few times they don't carry an item I'm looking for, they will help me find somewhere else to go and get it (above and beyond service!). Customer Service desk is always more than friendly, and efficient, and between both the self checkout and the regular checkout areas, there are very infrequently lines of any sort. Plus, they keep at least one staffed checkout line at all times, unlike the West Roxbury store. Layout is ideal for a hardware store, and if you do your homework, and go to their website, they will even tell you exactly which aisle and which bay to find the precise item you may be in search of. Love the Norwood Home Depot. Hope this is a forever relationship..... always a better experience here than at Lowe's in Dedham. 5 stars. read more

This review is specific to the Home Depot Tool Rental department - many Home Depot's do not actually rent tools (West Roxbury location does not for instance) I needed to dig a hole. Not just any hole, but a trench that would be looked at and groped by multiple different inspectors from the city and the utility provider. It had to be a good trench - one that would stand up to an inspector saying "not 18 inches deep? No permit for you!" sort of thing ... Tried to trench by hand with a shovel. Failed. Got about 12 feet of trench done and the depth meandered between 6-14 inches. Bad language was used. Blisters were cared for. Decided at that point to invoke the magic of Yuppie Rental Power Found out online that the Norwood HD has a tool rental department and they had a couple of different trenching machines that would work for me. Called ahead in the morning, the person at the rental department was super nice and helpful. Showed up a few hours later and the same person got me sorted. They took the time to carefully show me how to operate the trencher. Since it was not going to fit into my little mazda3 hatchback that can't tow a damn thing they also rented me a pickup truck and hooked me up with ramps that would let me get the machine on and off the pickup truck bed. Price for the rental + truck including keeping the truck at home during the job was equivalent or cheaper than a 1-day rental from a different company where I'd likely have to source a rental truck or pay $170+ for delivery. Returning was a breeze although they hazed me a bit for not having a receipt for the gallon of gas I put in on the way back, heh. Anyway - overall this was a great same-day instant-gratification project and I was particularly pleased with how hard they worked to make sure I understood how to operate the machine and properly load/unload it from the truck bed. Side note - it's kinda crazy what any fool with a drivers license and credit card can rent these days! read more

One of the cleanest Home Depot I've been to. The floors are really clean and nothing is on the floors. The restrooms are really clean with hand sanitizer wipes and paper towels. Dave at tiles dept was very friendly and helpful. I was looking at tiles and he just came up to ask if I need any assistance. Never happen before at other locations. My boyfriend asks about some glass tiles and he tried his best to look for the missing boxes going from aisle to aisle. Even the lady at the cash registers was really friendly. Today's date. 3/25/20. The height of the Coronavirus. I was approached by a young Home Depot Parking Lot Attendee from behind. First he spooked me. He is about 3' from me. He said he wanted to help me put my items in my car. I very nicely said "no thank. I didn't need help." "And to please back up." He refused. I begged him 5 times. "Please back up". I was now forced to walk away from my car with the cart and I am still having to asking him to back up. He refused. He is now following me around your parking lot. He now says "he wants the cart." I haven't been able to empty the cart Caz I am trying to get away from this kid. I told him come back when I am gone. He REFUSED. I have my arms in the air asking and now yelling at him to back the EF up. HE REFUSES. EVEN WHEN I GET INTO MY CAR. HE IS STILL 3' AWAY FROM ME AND MY CAR. WTF HOME DEPOT. She was busy playing with her phone and informed me that no one would be available in that dept for twenty minutes. I then stopped an older male employee and told him my problem. Scheduled delivery of Plywood on Monday for Tuesday. The time window was 6am to 8pm. Took the day off of work to receive the shipment. At 6pm we called to see what the status was. They said it was still in the window and told us to call back at 9pm if we haven't received it. We called back at 9pm no one picked up. Called Tuesday morning spoke to 2 associates to find out the shipment never went out on Tuesday due to having the wrong truck. We can't get the shipment until Friday. A simple phone call would have gone a long way. read more

I was able to get the product I needed over the phone however my 2 star review is how they handle military discount. My dad is a veteran and we didn't have a military ID card on us but we do have USAA the bank in which you have to be military or military family. They would not give us the discount and were extremely rude about it - nice to see how Home Depot treats military families - GO TO LOWES as soon as they see my USAA card they offer the discount. read more

Terrible experience from beginning to end. What a headache - I wish I never bought the appliance from Home Depot. All they know is how to ring up the purchase (Norwood, MA). When something goes wrong, no one can help you and they toss you around to different people. I spent days and talked to maybe around 10 staff members and no one can help. The dryer I bought was defective - their own installation people said this. Yet, I had to call Home Depot myself to explain the situation. They would not refund my money since I had the appliance for more than 48 hours (because their installer wasn't available for a week after delivery). I had to wait another 10 days for a new dryer to come/to be exchanged. When I called Home Depot back to schedule installation prior to the actual delivery, they said that the people who are delivering the new dryer will also install it at the same time . Well, they didn't. I then call Home Depot again to schedule another appt for installation - and now they are telling me i never paid for it - they couldn't see the charges (well, I have the receipt that showed that I paid $200 for it). They then gave me a number to a local handyman who said will be able to help me install the appliance. I called the handyman and he said he doesn't do gas/plumbing services . Argh! I went to Home Depot Norwood today to begin my purchase of a kitchen full of Thomasville cabinets. I stood there unnoticed by three employees in the department for about 10 minutes. One woman finally asked if I needed help. I said yes I'm ready to purchase new cabinets. She was extremely condescending and rude from the start so much so that I left shortly after without purchasing anything. I did tons of research and ended up purchasing a 10,200 BTU LG portable air conditioner, mostly because I could pick it up at this store the "same day." This store is an HOUR away from us, but I felt it was worth it. After waiting about 6 hours, I called the store, only to be told "same day" is taking 5-7 days....um, ok...We were also told they couldn't "promise" it would be in stock by that time. We were also told that if we wanted, we could come in and buy it off the floor (and cancel the order I already made). I considered cancelling my order all together, but I couldn't get through to a person at any Home Depot phone number, including the store (which I had called 5 minutes before). (This was during normal business hours, by the way, around 4pm EDT). So, after we waited 5 days until our in stock product could be pulled off the floor to be picked up, my husband drove to the location an hour away. I now have a 10,000 BTU LG portable a/c sitting in my living room...10,000? But I thought this was 10,200 BTU, is that different? YEP! Wrong product...I checked the product number. They gave us the wrong product, which is cheaper by the way. We were planning to get solid hardwood for our home. We encountered Rob in the flooring section who is at all not knowledgeable about hardwood floors. Another agent Debbie was helpful. During Debbie's day off, unfortunately we encountered Rob and store manager Henry Packer who did not provide us good customer support. Specifically, Henry did not honor a competitor coupon despite Debbie communicated to us that HD honors competitor's' coupons. If you are looking for customer service, please avoid Henry Packer. I came here on Saturday. We've been doing some DIY work in our bathroom and, in most areas, I didn't even know where to begin. You'll find at most Home Depot locations that, while the customer service is generally pretty great, they won't really know the answer to your questions. Saturday, I had a LOT of questions.. I was pretty clueless. Thankfully, there was an employee that knew the deal. I told him my issue (rusty baseboard heaters, among others) and he told me exactly what products to use to treat and prevent before painting. I left feeling confident that I had the right products, probably a first at Home Depot. My project turned out great and I have him to thank for that! read more
