If I'm at Home Depot it's because I need something specific, whether it's a recycling can, mulch or beautiful flowers. For the most part, everyone who works there is super pleasant and willing to help answer your questions or find what you are looking for. They do not recycle old paint but when I called I was told to let it dry out with cat litter than I could throw it away, after it's all dried out. So I bought a ceiling fan from Home Depot and after it was delivered, I called Home Depot Bustleton Avenue and got automated and then directed to a human being because I wanted to get recommendations for ceiling fan installers from them. So the first human being that answered says hold, please. So I hold for eight minutes. I have it on speaker. I'm listening to their story about, Americas doers and how to be safe in Home Depot on and on and on and on for 10 minutes. Young woman picks up the phone and I start to speak she goes. I can't hear you your phone is breaking up so I pick up the phone which was on speaker and I say, can you hear me now? She hung up on me without giving me a chance to take it off speaker or to find out what the problem was so she knows I'm on hold all this time and things right up on me. Doesn't give me a chance now that's aggravation. What I'm going to do is on the way to the gym tomorrow. Stop at Lowe's and ask them if they have any ceiling fan installers cause I'm not driving all the way up to Home Depot on Bustleton Avenue ! You just hang up the phone just like that you know somebody's been holding all this time. That's great service from a great employee who couldn't care less! read more

The 6-light chandelier light was listed at $154.00 on the example/show case chandelier, however, on the shelf the price was listed at $209.00. We called an associate over to help us determine and talk about the correct prices, the associate was being very rude and kept explaining how it was not Home Depot or his fault. He also tried to constantly prove us wrong that the model was a 4-light chandelier but obviously it had 6 lights. He told us that we were going to have to buy it at $209 no matter what. We ask for the manager, the manager comes up to us in a rude way, without even introducing who she is. We explain the situation to her, however she kept denying us and saying that we were wrong as well. Finally she only offered us a $20 discount, even if the price was listed at $154 and not $209. THE PRICES ON THE DISPLAY SHOULD BE CORRECT. DO NOT PUT WRONG PRICE TAGS ON THE WRONG ITEM AND "BLAME" the customer. My dad also asked for help to find the correct bulbs for this specific chandelier, and she directed us toward the light bulb direction. However, we couldn't find the lightbulbs and she came over to "help" us and as my dad asks "which lightbulb is it and could you show us" she responds "can't you see that I'm doing that for you. Let me do my job!" How. RUDE! Other than that the cashier who rung us up was very kind and understanding. I wish he was the manager instead. Did a return last week. Despite their stated COVID-19 guidelines: 1) there was NO sanitizing between customers, 2) 6 feet social distancing was not enforced at the registers, 3) 4 of 5 employees up front had no mask on and my cashier, who did, only wore it over her mouth, and 4) no hand sanitizer was provided ot even in sight. Since the order # on the packing slip was different than my actual order # (great system), I had to retrieve it from my phone. My cashier, rather than waiting for me to read off the order #, actually tried to snatch my phone from my hands. All of this unsafe activity horrified me. We have had few good experiences with this store over the years, but despite the (mostly) rude employees who don't know much about their products, we kept going back because it's less than a half mile from our home. But a store that doesn't care about consumer safety shouldn't be supported, so we no longer will shop there. We will instead travel a bit further to Ace Hardware or Lowe's where the staff are knowledgable, courteous, and safe. read more

The star is for the patient, very courteous cashier who did everything she could to help with my return. Zero stars for Home Depot who did everything they could to get me to take store credit instead of a refund. Online ordered 2 ceiling fans. After getting an Home Depot pro estimate of over $600 for installation (no ceiling cuts...simply attaching the wiring), I decided to take the fans back for a refund. Because Home Depot sent me one WRONG fan, the return would not go through properly and quite a long, drawn out process began. Home Depot was insisting I take a store credit, I was insisting that I wasn't shopping at Home Depot in the future so a refund was the only route I was taking. The fans will cost the same $250 at another store, and the installation will cost approximately $100 each to mount. The savings is about $500. I won't even start about the line we stood in to make this return.....as we watched the staff stand around, talk to each other and make their customers wait and wait and wait. read more

Ordered a dishwasher with delivery and installation. The people they sent from Spirit delivery were absolutely useless, took one look and said they couldn't do it, gave all kinds of bogus excuses. I know they lied because I installed the one that we already had myself. Why would they send someone to install a dishwasher that doesn't know how to do it? Terrible experience and waste of our time because know I have to find someone to install it. I'm sure I won't hear anything from Home Depot because they could care less. Again I find myself using one star because zero is not an option. I have been to the store multiple times and on each occasion the most common type of assistance I get is help I get from other customers. When you ask somebody who works there for help you get one of three responses; "I don't know," " this isn't my department, ask (insert name here)," or complete and utter failure to acknowledge your existence. Most recently I just spent two hours in the store attempting to find three things only to find out eventually the store didn't carry two of those three things. Save yourself the headache and go to Lowe's or any other hardware store for that matter. This store is a shining example of how when corporate America says that their taxes are too high and that's what's hurting their business, they are full of shit. I didn't receive my delivery on the scheduled day and got no phone call. I've been a long time customer and have spent a lot of money at this store. There is no concern for the customer's time or business. I'm still waiting for part of a fence I ordered two weeks ago and was told I would have in five days. I was never told it would take five deliveries to get my cement, posts and fence. They actually deliver ONE piece of a 26 piece order of fencing a couple days ago. Yesterday, no show and no call. I've tried reaching them through phone calls, emails and texts and getting nowhere. I paid $78 for a delivery charge and still don't have my complete order. I have a couple people waiting to install the fence for me and this is interfering with their time as well. I am very upset with Home Depot and their lack of quality service. read more

Customer service for online orders is non existent. Ordered 17 boxes of flooring that had 600 boxes available. Bought it for store pickup. 2 hours later my order was cancelled due to the product being out of stock and would be refunded in 3-5 business days. Website still says 600 available. No big, I'll call. After the phone rang for a few minutes and I got disconnected twice, I called the 1800 number. Same thing happened. "Buy another floor" You say? I have to wait 3-5 days to get my $1200 back so I can buy another floor. Just wanted some answers, got nothing. read more

Well this place was pretty useless. Well more so the people then the place. Although they are really one in the same. My power went out and I was looking for a generator. No one can tell me where they are. Hell even the aisle that had the sign for generators (aisle 15) didn't have any, just air compressors. So then I ask someone else who tells me they are in seasonal. I still can't find them, because they are either strewn about the aisle or stacked super high (one on top of a stack of some snow removal equipment). Not on the shelf where it should be. And there are no prices on these generators! So then I had to find another person to get the pricing. And the store was EMPTY. This whole place is just a big disorganized mess. Plus there are literally tens of employees not doing any work and unwilling to help unless you bark at them. We finally got some poor schmuck to help us, who was actually very nice and apologetic, albeit unhelpful. I really hope I never have to come back, but I'm sure I will because they've probably put the non-corporate owned hardware stores out of business. read more

When I don't know a good hardware store, I usually end up at a Home Depot. This particular Home Depot showed me that not all their stores have workers who conveniently disappear when you need help. In particular, James was a great, very helpful sales associate. He noticed I was wandering the light bulb aisle and asked me if I needed help. Forsooth! A sales associate asking if I needed help! If I could give a rating lower than a number 1 I would. We ordered a refrigerator over two and a half months ago because it was on back order. It was finally delivered today with a large dent in the front of it. It was not even wrapped or protected when brought into our house. They make it difficult when you want to get a refund on your credit card by directing you to two or three other places that you have to call. I cannot be sure but it didn't even look like the refrigerator we ordered. Do not buy anything from this Home Depot. It is not worth the aggravation! read more

Doing a remodel on our bathroom and hallway and needed a light fixture for our hallway. We went to Home Depot and found a light we liked; there was a young man, Kahlil, who really tried to help us even though it wasn't his department. He even got the person who was supposed to be in the department to try and help and this is where the visit went sideways. This guy told us the light has been unavailable for a long time and he had no idea when it would be in but a lot of people had asked for the same one and they just didn't have it. We offered to buy the demo and this would help with people not asking to buy a product they don't have and don't know when they would. He then tells us he can't make that decision only a manager can. So we ask to speak with the manager and he explains that there isn't a manager there at night, that they're all at home. He points out another light that's similar but is quite a bit more and we should get that one when I explain the cost difference he just shakes his head and walks away but we wanted to see a different fixture lit up and had asked him and he said he couldn't do that and left. We're standing there without anyone to help! Kahlil comes back over and tries to help but in the meantime my husband found the manager, Bob, who was absolutely lovely and helped us a lot. The three stars is for Kahlil and Bob because without them it would have been 1 with a rant on how the other guy lied about a manager being there and too busy to bother helping customers! This particular Home Depot is fine. Typical larger size. (there once use to be a small mall here called the Leo Mall for all you old heads like me that can remember) Usually well stocked. Never overly crowded, clean and organized as a place like this can be. The employees for the most part are helpful when you can grab one that isn't busy. Price wise about average. Only complaint is self service check out seems to be out of order half the time so sometimes the wait is long to check out. Home Depot or Loews flip a coin same difference to me. Don't get the folks that go under 3 stars? HD is what it is, for the most part. A do it yourselfer home repair improvement warehouse. Soo what else could you expect or want?? read more

I found all of my appliances to build a tree house here. This had an excellent selection of tools.

We had a door installed yesterday from here. Setting up an appointment to pick out the door was easy. The salesperson, I think her name is Maureen was easy going and helpful. If you choose to use their store credit card then it offers a great range of interest free payments. The door came out great. We had a couple small issues with the door being primed not painted and the lock not working so that took off a star. But within 2 hours, they sent someone out to fix the lock. Thank God, as we live in Philly. Now I just got to beg my husband to paint it. All in all , a good experience. read more

I have to give this Home Depot 5 stars because of one incredibly helpful service employee. I think his name is John. I was there picking up a vanity which wouldn't fit in my car. I waited over an hour for a truck but the previous customer was 40min late and they had no way of knowing how much longer it would be. I had a 3mos old home, needing to be fed and I was a good 35min drive away once I could actually get a truck. Just as I had given up waiting this employee clocked out and offered to drive the vanity all the way to south Philly and help my husband push it up a flight of stairs!! He wouldn't even accept a tip. Just a reminder that good people are all around us. Thank you. We will pay it forward! So very much appreciated. When you have a baby at home every hour is so valuable and because of John I didn't have to drive all the way back another two times. So grateful. read more
