Make sure you buy the damage protection if you ever rent a tool or machine no matter what the cost. Was helping my neighbor and the machine he rented kept breaking down. Even though he called and reported it at the time Home Depot charged him for the repair and would not budge. And he had to stop the job in the middle of the mess. So yeah, after being told my delivery was canceled I get a late text 8 hours later confirming the delivery that I missed early that morning. I think, hmmm that's odd, lets call the Home Depot Appliance Hotline. So I called me and the ladyin the call center got me scheduled for another week. She says just a moment, let me call our delivery service and see what is up. After waiting on hold she said it appears they are closed for the day, and then she said "yeah, it appears they tried a second delivery to you at noon but no one was home." I was completely available if they had the wherewithal to CALL ME! So another incident of poor customer communication. Nothing has been offered to me as far as a discount on their poor communication of no phone calls, last minute emails, and late texts. Again no one on the other end appears to know what the others are doing. I will never purchase another appliance from Home Depot again. read more

Went there last week to purchase some flooring for our kitchen. We found one we liked on sale and loaded up 14 boxes into our cart. As we were walking to checkout an employee came over and said he could not let us purchase the flooring because someone else had purchased it over a half hour ago and they had not removed it from the floor or put up a sign that it was purchased. After a big argument we ended up leaving with the flooring. The way they handled this was disgusting. If someone purchased it then they should not have left it on the floor for other people to purchase. The employee who argued with us was awful and even yelled at us as we were walking away. read more

In the past, I have received high quality merchandise and service directly from my local Home Depot store so it seemed logical to remain loyal to a company that has previously served me well. However, I am appalled at the quality of the merchandise being sold and question how you could allow specific products to hit your showroom without adequate quality assurance checks in place for selected partners. After all, your suppliers are a representation of Home Depot, who took the order and payment to pay for the products and services. As a recap/summary of the events: 1. Purchase of new refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher on March 28, 2018 2. Refrigerator delivered slightly damaged and I agreed to accept delivery and was promised a 10% discount. When calling Maytag for the adjustment, as directed, I was advised that they wouldn't honor because I didn't call within 48 hours of delivery. Unacceptable, as a timeframe had not been discussed. 3. Dishwasher #1 delivered damaged (front door did not open) but was installed on the same day as above. Crew disposed of the older dishwasher and hooked up the damaged dishwasher until a new Maytag unit could arrive. 4. Microwave delivered and installed without issue on same date as above. 5. Ongoing delays with delivery company on all visits to receive replacement of the damaged dishwasher unit #2. Second attempt at dishwasher delivery arrived in an undamaged box but the right side of the unit had 1/3 of the entire machine bashed in. Again, how could this not be known before packaging and why would the delivery guys 'hook it up' anyway?!? Unacceptable. 6. #3 dishwasher delivery attempt arrived with an acceptable unit. However, the freight crew argued that we didn't pay for installation. After showing the receipt that we had indeed paid for the installation, the crew reluctantly proceeded only to cite their inability to perform the services because we were suddenly informed that we have a "leaky valve." Why this wasn't presented as an issue for the previous two freight delivery crews is unknown, other than the fact that the 3rd crew was inconvenienced at the time. 7. Desprate to have an undamaged dishwasher delivered, we changed the 'leaky valve' which was actually residual water in the valve. There was no leaky valve! Unacceptable. 8. Additional two dates scheduled, both of which changed or were missed by the freight company with no further follow up. 9. Multiple calls between Home Depot, Maytag and Freight Right, all with differing notes, scheduling dates/time. No resolution between the parties, leaving the customer in limbo. 10. The final straw. We were informed by the freight company that the replacement unit was actually CANCELLED in their system. Meanwhile, we (the paid customer) is stuck with a damaged/bashed in unit that doesn't work with no follow up from the freight company to get an acceptable unit to the home! Simply put, we will put a stop to the nonsense. I have cancelled the order and the Freight company was instructed to remove the damaged product from our home. Considering their inability to secure, deliver and install an undamaged product, we will take our business elsewhere. More concerning is the amount of time that was simply "expected" for me to wait around and accept late/rescheduled/ and no-show deliveries. Completely and utterly unacceptable. read more

This is my local store and I'm in there at least several times per month. The employees have always been great and very helpful anytime I've needed to ask questions or to get help finding items. The cashiers are always very nice and yes they ask if you want a Home Depot credit card but hey it's their job and their never pushy...they just ask the question. Sure, sometimes the staff is busy and they aren't just waiting for you in every aisle, but I never had a problem getting help...just walk around to ask somebody. I've had a couple minor issues over the years with some ordered items, but they were not the fault of the store staff and they quickly corrected the problems. Great staff, very helpful. read more

I have been trying to get ahold of a supervisor there for several times and have been promised a call back. I talked to a black supervisor today she swore she would call me back and I have not heard from her which I sort of expected. Half of the time the people are not in their department and it seems like supervisors don't come in till 11 everyday. Very poor. Lowe's treats us a lot better. I am in the middle of a major home improvement and would like to thank the manager and employees for all their help. It is evident that the manager knows how to run a store. The employees are outstanding. The paint ladies are outstanding. I am sure the men are also but have only encountered the women so far. Where ever I go someone ask me if I need help. Need some wood for a Pinterest project I wanted to get started on.. So off to the depot, land of the wood... Walked around like I was lost in wonderland.. I ran into the mad hatter and explained what I needed to find.. He showed me the greatest secret of the depot.. Did you know that they have a special table in the back of this depot land that they cut wood & these pieces are the leftover's.... Everything on the leftover table is FREE!! I found the perfect piece that I needed for my planned project at NO cost!! I was amazed in this land of wonder! &&& on the way out I ran into Alice.. Alice was hiding behind a magic hotdog cart, this magic cart actually had Chicago coneys, with the dill pickle, bright green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, sport peppers, onions... The works! I have been looking for a place that served Chicago coney's for some time!! What a pleasant surprise!! Next time I'm thinking Chicago coneys, I will be stopping here, I loved the woodland! read more

No problems with the appliance sales staff. HUGE problems with their delivery partners. Home Depot farms out its appliance delivery services, which means no matter how nice their sales staff might be, they're still dependent on some truly terrible companies to actually deliver their appliances.We went through 3 attempts to get a refrigerator from this Home Depot before we finally gave up. Attempt #1: The delivery company told us that refrigerator #1 would be "too big" to fit through our kitchen door. They did not even attempt to bring it in the house. Attempt #2: So we went back to Home Depot and bought refrigerator #2 (a smaller model). The second delivery company told us it had been damaged (we never saw it) and told us to call Home Depot to get another one. I won't go into all the frustration around that phone call except to say it involved a lot of attempted discussion with people who didn't speak English. Attempt #3: The delivery company that brought another, presumably undamaged version of refrigerator #2 refused to remove our old fridge. Huh? That was right in the contract: we paid an extra $70 or something for its removal. Nope. They wouldn't do it. They went back out to their truck and told Home Depot that we had "refused" the fridge! (We never even got to see it, much less refuse it.) We found this out when we called Home Depot and spoke with the manager. She said she couldn't reach them at this point, but they could try again in another week. After three attempts over more than a month's time with no refrigerator, we finally gave up and went with a local company (Big George) that delivers their appliances themselves. And guess what? We went with refrigerator #1, the one the first delivery company told us would be too big to fit through our door. The Big George staff told us it would fit without problem, and it did. The final straw: Home Depot charged our credit card three times, one for each refrigerator we never received. They only refunded the money after we saw the charges on our bill and called them. Two stars instead of one because the staff at the Home Depot were nice about the whole thing. But we will never buy an appliance there again. read more

Carpet & flooring - Idiots & utterly incompetent!!! Today was the SECOND time a HD MeasureTech staff came to measure our stairs and hallway. 1st time the person using a tape measure, not digital equipment as promised on website, recorded our steps as 2 different sizes, wrongly configured the landing direction and miscounted the number of steps. Amazingly it increased our cost by over 25% from the original quote. I had many conversations trying to explain the issues over the weekend until got them to agree to send a more experienced person to re-measure. First quote was for 38 yards which was about 6 yards too much if properly laid out. Second quote, for same space was almost 60 yards!!!! WTH?!?! Each time a quote was received, no link to floor plan was provided, I had to call and beg for it. PEOPLE if you are going to buy yardage installed items from HomeDepot, or elsewhere, educate yourself to prevent Carpet Measurement FRAUD whether intentional or unintentional. Enough was enough, persuaded the store manager to return my $35 measure fee and I will go elsewhere. Shame on me for returning to HD for carpet after my in-laws had similar problems getting their home, including stairs, measured for carpet last year. NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

Horrible delays in having appliance delivered and installed properly and no customer support when calling to get resolution. I've been waiting 2 weeks to have a dryer installed properly so it can be used and they are telling me I'll need to wait another 4 days. Buy your appliances somewhere else!!!! read more

I started 3 small projects with Home Depot in August (kitchen floor, granite counter and back splash). I am still waiting for them to resolve issues, including the damage one of their contractors did to my brand new granite counters. I logged a complaint with them over a month ago and submitted a lengthy complaint in writing two weeks ago and STILL can't get a manager to call me back. I thought going with a big name like Home Depot would provide some added protection and quality assurance. It is has been the opposite. I have spent hours on the phone tracking down their contractors, one of whom proposed using Sharpie marker to "fix" the counter he damaged that I just paid almost $5k for. I have had to take multiple days off work because last minute rescheduling by their contractors and slips ups like Home Depot not ordering enough materials to finish my job. And every time one of these mess up happened, I found myself being the one who had to track down the contractors to get it made right. If I knew this was going to be the case I would have saved myself some money and gone direct. Dealing with the Home Depot has made NONE of this process easier. I plan to post about my experiences any where I can so others don't fall into the same disappointing trap I did. And just maybe one of their managers will finally think it worth their time to call me back, but I won't get my hopes up. Apparently, spending of thousands of dollars with them still doesn't make you worth their time. read more
