This was only supposed to be a quick trip to Home Depot to pick up soil and some stoppers. First thing that at 7 PM the garden section is closed so we had to go through the middle, which is fine since I had some inside stuff to get. But to find someone in the store to help you is like a treasure hunt. I finally found a man in the hardware area, but as soon as I walked up to him, his phone ring and somebody was talking to him and he just turned us back to me and walked away. So I had to chase him so when he got off the phone, I could ask more to find rubber stoppers. He took me there. It was not a very happy man. The garden section was completely empty also but we did end up finding the soil test kits and two bags of mulch. I don't know what happened if somebody bought them all out or what. Of course, then you have to go all the way back to the middle to pay. I don't know, this whole store gives off a vibe of nobody gives a tootle about whether you're there or not. read more

RENTAL REVIEW: Needed to rent a large aerator for a home lawn renovation, and also needed to rent a truck to transport it. This particular home depot had both available to rent the day of, so I went in and rented both. The process the get everything setup was really quick, and I was in and out in maybe 30 minutes. The aerator was a little difficult to get used to, and needed more wait up front. In order to not raise up on two wheels when in use. But other than that, it worked just fine. Was back with the aerator cleaned up, and the trucked fueled up in a few hours after pickup. Both employees that assisted me with checking out and checking in the equipment and truck. My daughter and I came to this HD as our chest freezer died in the 110 degree heat and online it showed they had 4 qty of a brand/model that was on sale. Well, screw their website! None in stock. We could have just went in our Natomas store 3 miles from home. Thanks HD fake azz "real" time inventory. All lies. Clerk said they have been out for weeks. Since our food in the dead chest freezer was nearly defrosted, we were in a hard place. So I found an unknown brand but had great reviews of a 4.7/5 and was on sale to boot. Even though this store had zero staff to help/would bother to help until I could flag a dude down, I decided to buy here cuz it is the same conglomerate even if I bought from our local HD. If it was a one-off store I would not have given them the biz as the assistance was shitty as was the whole vibe of this ghost town. Our new chest freezer is great. Once in a great while I'd come to this location. Only because if I'm in the area and NEED to get something from Home Depot.... That said, last time I came here to replace my Milwaukee tape measure, the service was painfully slow. Here's what went down: I came in and waited at the customer service desk, showed my product along with the receipt and we discussed I was eligible to replace my tape measure. Customer service lady said just grab the same tape measure and comeback for the replacement. I arrived at where they keep the tape measure, and it was locked behind a cage. I notified someone in the front and they went on speaker to call someone over with the key. 20 minutes later, and old employee starts walking down the aisle. Before he would reach me, there were other customers hanging around the same aisle asking questions and he would attend to them. 20 more minutes till he reached me and I asked him to open the cage so I can grab my tape measure; he said he was assisting another person first (even though the initial call was for me). 10 minutes later, he cameback unlocked the cage, grab the tape measure and said he had to walk the tape measure to the customer service desk. Mind you he is old and in no hurry what so ever. So an hour and some change I got my replacement tape measure...... Brutal read more

Being a former contractor, and home remodeler, I am a regular at Home Depot. Before I moved here a year and a half ago, I visited my family quite often. My Nephew always told me how bad Home Depot was. The stores I went to in SoCal weren't bad - most of the time. Now that I live here, I gotta say that the two stores here that I frequent are BAD. BUT This Home Depot in This reporter's opinion is the WORST HOME DEPOT EVER. I went today. Wanted to buy a fan. And a I was told they dont work in that department and the fans may have been removed for Christmas stuff. So No one needs a fan in December?? She told me to go to electrical and ask them. I wandered around electrical and could not find ONE Home Depot employee! But I told the person Who referred me to that department that Th internet site shows 24 in stock, AND I am only allowed to purchase 99!!She wants to see it on my phone??? So then I go looking for an aluminum U-Shaped Silver drip cap door bottom - Computer says they have six in stock WRONG - ZERO. And of course there was not a sole around to assist. I go there to get simple sawzall blade. I asked a girl to have somebody come out and help me. Nobody ever came out and she and she said that sorry we have nobody to help you. She also said that's locked up because of theft well I understand it that things are locked up but why can't you open them up when the customer wants to have it opened up or have somebody there to do it I will not go back to home Depot ever again I'll find I'll find another place to get my stuff. I needed some light switches and they usually have what I need here. I found the light switches that I needed. I went to purchase them and there was a line to buy stuff. I noticed that none of the self check outs were open. They were all covered up. It sure would of made my purchase quicker. When I got to a checker I asked her about the self check. She told me that they were getting rid of all their self check registers. I should of asked why. I figure people buy stuff and neglect to buy everything and steal the stuff. Probably the reason. They've been with me every step of the way through good and bad. When I needed to paint a wall a new color, guess who was there with unlimited color swatches and tester samples, when I needed a flower pot...when I realized I didn't yet have a sufficient toilet plunger....Thats right... good old reliable Home depot. Today I went to Home Depot to Aquire some flagstone and was happy to find that they had other more affordable pathway options. I drove an hour and a half to buy i, when I arrived they said they had already processed a return to vendor even though the product was literally sitting at customer service still they would not allow me to buy it. I was happy to have a great experience here. There's ample parking and available carts outside. I was coming return a fan I purchased for the heatwave but unfortunately it came late and the weather is starting to cool for the Fall season. I didn't want to keep the product in my garage all year so I decided to return it. Thankfully I was helped out with Sarah at the register. She was friendly, quick and helpful. She even explained the amount I'd get back. She was also cheerful and happy to answer questions as I wasn't sure why there was a deduction on the total. And I wouldn't normally write a review for good service, because most of my local stores have good service. I don't think about writing a review the zillion times I go into HD. But I had to write this review because the excellent service I received tonight was well above 5 stars. I had 2 employees, Malcom & Ilya (I probably butchered both of their names) help me. Not only help me go through a pile of wood to help me find the best ones to physically loading everything into my cart and then into my truck. They were both super friendly, and helped without being asked. This experience was so good, I will probably come back to this particular HD even if I'm closer to a different one. read more

Not my main Home Depot near where I live. But certainly do frequent this one when in the north area and near this location. Always a good experience with no recollections of any problems or disappointments. Like all Home Depots, has a wide variety of merchandise. And love the Ryobi cordless tools. Use them all the time around the house. My daughter has also become a "Ryobi girl" now that she and her hubby have become home owners. The best about this Home Depot is that the store is located very close to my work. I'm often here when I'm looking for parts or tools. The store layout in this Home Depot is different from that more of the Home Depot in the Sacramento area. The painting department is not located in the middle of the store, and many other items are not where you expected location inside the store. Sometimes I get confused too; even I'm here all the time! The employees here are excellent if you can find them. Some as the other Home Depot, looking for help is not easy sometimes! The parking lot is enormous. But also very busy. Finding a parking space close to the entrance may not be too easy. But no problem to get parking if you're willing to park your car a little faster in the parking lot! read more

Horrible experience. I rented a truck through their tool rental services. I arrived 15 minutes prior to pick up for the truck and they told me they did not have a truck for another hour. I waited an hour and a half and when I returned, the man working the desk said he had no trucks at all. The Home Depot still charged me for a truck they didn't even have and the man working said "oh I don't know what to tell you". While I was beyond frustrated that they didn't even have the truck that I paid for, it was the attitude of the man working. He didn't care at all. He told me twice "look I just got here" and when I asked for the woman by name to help me, he said "I just got here, you are welcome to walk around and find her". Unbelievable. When I asked for a manager, the guy looked at me and said "that's a good question, I don't know" then turned to his coworker and started having a completely different conversation. read more

Cool Mexican food vendor and music out front selling fresh fruit bowls. Same issue re staff as some others. Hard to get assistance. Checker was too busy in personal conversation w/sister or friend who hung out at their register the whole time. I'm understand the concept of locking products up, but it's fucking ridiculous to inconvenience customers the way they are. I went to get soldering kit first since it was the smallest item. Of course it was locked up and they wouldn't let me take it. So I made my way to nursery to get 9 bags of 40lb salt and a shovel, paid for it and loaded my car since I was right out front. Had to walk all the way down to the other end of the store and stand in line a 2nd time, so they could retrieve my soldering kit and pay for it. Nasty way to treat customers! read more
