I ordered a few things online to ship to my house. A couple of things arrived early, and some did not even get processed. I chat with an agent online, and it took this person to type 1 sentence every 5-10 mins. After 2 days, my bathroom walls were brought to my house by an incompetent driver who put the 72' long wall on a half-side pallet, which caused the wall to bend badly. Normally I'm not a big fan of Home Depot, unless I really need to get something here. I'll say if you know where the stuff is that you want, like you did some research online before you got here and now you know the exact location of what you want, then maybe that's OK. This Home Depot location was near where I was doing some field location work and we needed some lumber so build a brace for one of the cameras we were using. One of the crew said he noticed a Home Depot where we could get what we needed. If you need lumber, it's pretty obvious where you wanna go in the store. We found the lumber section and looked around and decided what we needed and needed the full length to be cut in half so we could fit it in the Suburban SUV we were using. I located someone in the lumber area and he used the big saw they have to cut it to what we wanted. Rolled out to the check out and that was that. I had an positive experience at the Home Depot on Monterey Road in San José thanks to an employee who went above and beyond during a stressful moment. I came in needing help finding the correct screws and bolts for a project, especially after realizing the ones I ordered online were wrong. I brought the parts and photos of the machine with me, hoping someone could point me in the right direction. An employee working early Sunday morning helped me, and from that moment the experience was AMAZING. He opened different screw packages, tested them with my parts, and immediately figured out what I actually needed--saving me days of frustration, returns, and delays. As a woman who doesn't always feel confident with hardware, I felt respected, supported, and genuinely helped. The store itself is exactly what you'd expect from a well-run Home Depot: plenty of parking, clean, efficient, wide aisles, and everything operating efficiently. It's orderly, easy to navigate, and you can quickly find what you need, or someone willing to help you find it. This experience reminded me why in-person expertise matters. I ordered a couple of windows September 13th, 2025, a few came in November. Two of the windows came back with the wrong width measurements so we went back to the same associate that ordered us the windows from Milgard. The associate said it was going to come December 12th, 2025 when we ordered it in November. It didn't come December 12th, so we went to our local Home Depot on that day and they said that it never got placed when we sat down with the associate to confirm everything. Now, since it never came, they automatically refunded our order (which we didn't want refunded. We just want our windows shipped back to us that Milgard did incorrectly) of $2,576.20, which wasn't our original total. We bought the windows for $2,771.04. I ended up talking to the Home Depot associate and they said that they charge a fee. I find it ridiculous that we didn't do anything wrong, but still got charged a fee for something that Milgard and Home Depot is responsible for. Long story short, this was such a hassle to go through and my experience wasn't great. All associates we communicated with was nice, but the experience was bad. read more

I had an odd encounter in the tool rental section. I came here to rent a box truck. I saw that two were parked outside of the store. It took me a while to get the employee's attention as they were in the back working on a tool. I asked the employee if I could rent a box truck- he said "we don't have any" without looking at his computer. When I asked him if the two out front were rented he said- "of course..." Then proceeded to tell me other stores that may have box trucks. The whole encounter was two minutes but left me feeling odd afterward. Would not recommend coming here to rent a box truck. read more

I feel so sad learning about an employee who has worked in this store 38 years and today was her last day. I have a trusted friend who works there who shared this news with me and I just can't believe that Home Depot and the managers are so heartless! If someone has given 38 years of their time then it would seem appropriate to have a small party for that employee on their last day, perhaps with cake and a signed card from everyone. Instead there was nothing done at all. I can't imagine how Conchita the lady who was leaving must have felt when she saw that no one cared at all to do anything. When Home Depot hires young people, (which she is not) they often have cake or cookies and sign a Home Depot apron and give it to the employee, on the day they leave, so why did they do NOTHING and those employees often don't work there very long and still get recognition. Lighting department for strip lights was a mess. Very difficult to match display items with rack inventory. Broadcast Music was awfully loud. In other words it was awful screaming idiot vintage 80s nonsense, and it was very loud. I commented to the electrical guy about the loud music and his messy confusing display. He brushed me off saying "go tell a mgr." it's not my job to stand around waiting for a mgr; I'm the customer. It's his job. His department. Then I encountered a more senior looking guy and complained to him about the volume of the music. He said he'd talk to the mgr, But after more than 20 minutes the music was just as loud as at first. Picked up a pasta machine here, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. The price was low, but the build feel surprisingly sturdy, the rollers are smooth, and it clamps securely to the counter. The store itself was well-stocked and easy to navigate. Customer service. Needed an entry way transfer so I stopped at the desk by the door and window area to find out if they had anything longer than standard door opening. I approached a sales associate standing next to the desk to check if they had anything longer than standard door width. He said "Find someone with an apron." I gave my contractor $100 to pick up small supplies for a water heater replacement. The $100 bill was older and my GC is Mexican. The Home Depot staff and woman Manager on duty harassed him and told him it's fake. The took him aside and interrogated him He returned and was embarrassed as was I since it was my cash. I did not want redistribute the cash so called my bank, BofA. They asked me to bring the $100 in their branch which I did. Immediately they said it's real and deposited it back in my account and offered a crisp new $100. I was so upset that I called Home Depot and the manager on duty didn't really care or apologize. I went to Home Depot today to copy some keys. Didn't know where to go so I asked a Home Depot employee for help. Their employees are friendly and knowledgeable. They know the place pretty well. They have 2 machines to make keys - one is an automatic one and one can only be operated by their employees. If you have a normal, common house keys, the automatic machine works well, fast and cheaper than similar automatic machines in other places. If you have a less common key that the automatic machine can't recognize, ask an employee to help you use the other machine. It was ~$4/key. Recommend copying your keys here! read more

Two stars because they do have things in stock that isn't available in other stores and which is why we ended up going here despite my resolution not to give them any business. There is not a single person who helps you in the store. They pretend not to see you even if you are right in front of them and waving for their attention. If you stand in their path and ask for help then the answer is they will find someone and then you can say goodbye to the next hour. We wanted measurements for blinds and the lady behind the counter complained how tired she was, took a non urgent call from her father to chitchat and then took ages to enter our order into the system. We came here to make a copy of our house keys. Normally it's a pain to track someone down to make a copy of your keys. However, now they have a machine you can use yourself to make your own key. I know they have these machines all over the place now but most of them are really expensive. Which is why I've always gone to Home Depot to make my copies. The good news is the self service key machine is the same price as if they were to make a copy for you. Home Depot is always my go to hardware store. I'll be back again! read more

This is by far the most organized garden center at a Home Depot that I've been too. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was hand sanitizer in large containers and detergents. I walked straight to the garden area. On my way I saw a row of fresh roses and flowers. I grabbed a bouquet for under $10. I was looking for a vase and asked the employee fixing shelves if they had any. She stated they had pots but no vases. I entered the garden area and was pleased to see a few pots and planters. Other locations have no pots whatsoever. All the indoor plants were nice and organized. I grabbed a couple more bags of soil and headed to the outdoor plant area. The whole are was clean and organized. There was clear yellow markers to be cautious on the aisles that had just been watered. The cashier was welcoming and struck up friendly conversation during our transaction. I proceeded to pay for my stuff and I was on my way out. There was staff all over the place so getting help was easy. The store was busy as usual. I parked on the opposite side of the garden area so hauling my 3 bags of soil and other items was not easy. Next time I'll park closer to the garden area. The parking lot is large to accommodate large and small vehicles alike. I basically have to hit-up each store in the area and clean them out of their entire stock every time we need them. Not only is this a complete waste of my time but it's not fair for the other customers. Unfortunately their website doesn't offer any way to order them, so seeing as we have a HD PRO® account I stopped by the PRO desk to ask if we could order them in bulk. The lady working the desk informed me that it wasn't possible. And that I had to continue to doing what I've been doing. Unsatisfied with this answer I decided to call their PRO customer service line (866.333.3551) and lo-and-behold they were more than accommodating. I managed to order up a large amount and was left satisfied. While their customer service line is 5-stars their in-store service left me wanting. Not sure if she was ill-informed, lazy, apathetic--or a combo platter! Regardless, she didn't try and that deserves 1-star. read more

If you want to do a new countertop installation through Home Depot, this review is going to be super useful for you! We replaced our old countertop with a new one through the Home Depot. The countertop was installed but there were a lot of things left undone. We contacted the customer support and they said they don't do it. Listing down the concerns and their response as below 1. They missed one part of the backsplash during measurements. The countertop installations people said we can't do it as it was not measured. We suggested cutting some part from the sink cut-out and he agreed. Thankfully , the installation was not impacted. 2. They did not put the dishwasher back after the water supply was reconnected. We had to follow up with the customer service person a couple of times and then they sent a guy to do it . 3. This is the biggest concern. They didn't secure the electric connections and left them hanging. The wiring is open and unsafe to plug in the devices . Upon checking with them, they said it's not their job and said it's not covered by the contractor they hired for us. I am not at all happy with their response. We don't care what the contractor says. The home Depot should hire another guy to fix it for us. We paid them to do the job end to end. They shouldn't leave it like that. The customer service people didn't help us even after following up with them several times . Please see the attached photos As you can see in one of the photos they did it for one outlet (internet connection) but not for the others. 4. The countertop was leveled but there is a gap between the countertops and cabinets because as per the contractor, our existing cabinets are not leveled. They asked us to put some material there to fill the gaps by ourselves. We don't agree with this. The home Depot should take care of this. Upon checking with a customer service person, he said they had some documents signed by us when the payment was made and the document mentioned that this was excluded from their service. I don't agree with the response and we feel that they should have done the job end to end without leaving such issues. I would highly recommend a professional contractor for such jobs and don't do it through home depot. Purchasing the raw materials is okay but they would take 100% payment in advance but won't finish your job and leave such things undone! I received the best customer service today from Vinh (a young man about college age) at the guest service desk. I was not expecting much as my last few visits to this store have been nothing to write about, but today this young man gets a bravo award from me. I went in to inquire about a specific item (camping stakes) and he was so very polite, looked up the item for me, directed me to the location (row/bay no#) where I should find the item. Unfortunately, the item was not there. He then requested his team member to assist me. The team member could not locate it either. So, back to the guest service desk I go and Vinh then called a sister store to inquire about the item in hopes that we could locate it there and have them hold it for me. No such luck! So then he suggested better luck if I go online to the store that has eleven (11) in stock and order it from them and have it delivered instead and its no extra fee for delivery.
