The service is absolutely terrible. I was on the phone for at least 6 minutes waiting for an associate to pick it up. Nobody answered. I originally wanted to purchase a Thrifty Wall Board so I can use it as a whiteboard. It's a 4 x 2 or something so it's huge. I wanted to call ahead and ask if they could cut it for me because the location in Manteca said their saw "stopped working" last weekend. No one answered. I went to this location and asked the lumber employee if we could have him cut this large board. He said the saw "stopped working since yesterday." I knew he was lying, because that's what the Manteca location also told us. How is a Home Depot causally having a broken lumber saw IN A HOME IMPROVEMENT/CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY STORE??. Another guy at a counter asked if we found everything OK as we were walking out. I told him no. We went back and forth: - He said to try the Manteca location. I said that they told me their lumber saw was "broken" as well. - he told me to go to the Livermore one. I said, why would I go all the way out to Livermore because YOUR saw doesn't work? - he told me why I didn't try to call ahead. I told him that I called earlier this afternoon and was held on the phone waiting for 6 minutes...and then he ignored me!! And started talking to other customers. Absolutely do not recommend going here. Don't go to Home Depot at all actually!! Go to Lowe's or somewhere else. read more

Normally I'm not a big fan of Home Depot, unless I really need to get something here. I'll say if you know where the stuff is that you want, like you did some research online before you got here and now you know the exact location of what you want, then maybe that's OK. This Home Depot location was near where I was doing some field location work and we needed some lumber so build a brace for one of the cameras we were using. One of the crew said he noticed a Home Depot where we could get what we needed. If you need lumber, it's pretty obvious where you wanna go in the store. We found the lumber section and looked around and decided what we needed and needed the full length to be cut in half so we could fit it in the Suburban SUV we were using. I located someone in the lumber area and he used the big saw they have to cut it to what we wanted. Rolled out to the check out and that was that. The prices didn't seem too high or anything, so Home Depot did it's job and kept our day going. read more

I ordered a few things online to ship to my house. A couple of things arrived early, and some did not even get processed. I chat with an agent online, and it took this person to type 1 sentence every 5-10 mins. After 2 days, my bathroom walls were brought to my house by an incompetent driver who put the 72' long wall on a half-side pallet, which caused the wall to bend badly. I had an positive experience at the Home Depot on Monterey Road in San José thanks to an employee who went above and beyond during a stressful moment. I came in needing help finding the correct screws and bolts for a project, especially after realizing the ones I ordered online were wrong. I brought the parts and photos of the machine with me, hoping someone could point me in the right direction. An employee working early Sunday morning helped me, and from that moment the experience was AMAZING. He opened different screw packages, tested them with my parts, and immediately figured out what I actually needed--saving me days of frustration, returns, and delays. As a woman who doesn't always feel confident with hardware, I felt respected, supported, and genuinely helped. The store itself is exactly what you'd expect from a well-run Home Depot: plenty of parking, clean, efficient, wide aisles, and everything operating efficiently. It's orderly, easy to navigate, and you can quickly find what you need, or someone willing to help you find it. This experience reminded me why in-person expertise matters. *Big shout out to Alvin for providing such great customer service and thank you for helping us* Home Depot in general is great, but this one experience was such an annoying, tedious, and time consuming process. I ordered a couple of windows September 13th, 2025, a few came in November. Two of the windows came back with the wrong width measurements so we went back to the same associate that ordered us the windows from Milgard. The associate said it was going to come December 12th, 2025 when we ordered it in November. It didn't come December 12th, so we went to our local Home Depot on that day and they said that it never got placed when we sat down with the associate to confirm everything. Now, since it never came, they automatically refunded our order (which we didn't want refunded. We just want our windows shipped back to us that Milgard did incorrectly) of $2,576.20, which wasn't our original total. We bought the windows for $2,771.04. I ended up talking to the Home Depot associate and they said that they charge a fee. I find it ridiculous that we didn't do anything wrong, but still got charged a fee for something that Milgard and Home Depot is responsible for. Long story short, this was such a hassle to go through and my experience wasn't great. All associates we communicated with was nice, but the experience was bad. read more

I had an odd encounter in the tool rental section. I came here to rent a box truck. I saw that two were parked outside of the store. It took me a while to get the employee's attention as they were in the back working on a tool. I asked the employee if I could rent a box truck- he said "we don't have any" without looking at his computer. When I asked him if the two out front were rented he said- "of course..." Then proceeded to tell me other stores that may have box trucks. The whole encounter was two minutes but left me feeling odd afterward. Would not recommend coming here to rent a box truck. read more

Lighting department for strip lights was a mess. Very difficult to match display items with rack inventory. Broadcast Music was awfully loud. In other words it was awful screaming idiot vintage 80s nonsense, and it was very loud. I commented to the electrical guy about the loud music and his messy confusing display. He brushed me off saying "go tell a mgr." it's not my job to stand around waiting for a mgr; I'm the customer. It's his job. His department. Then I encountered a more senior looking guy and complained to him about the volume of the music. He said he'd talk to the mgr, But after more than 20 minutes the music was just as loud as at first. No change. Basically blew me off. My take is that anyone with an ounce of self respect doesn't blast music and force others to listen to it. Anyone with self respect respects others better than that. Picked up a pasta machine here, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. The price was low, but the build feel surprisingly sturdy, the rollers are smooth, and it clamps securely to the counter. The store itself was well-stocked and easy to navigate. I feel so sad learning about an employee who has worked in this store 38 years and today was her last day. I have a trusted friend who works there who shared this news with me and I just can't believe that Home Depot and the managers are so heartless! If someone has given 38 years of their time then it would seem appropriate to have a small party for that employee on their last day, perhaps with cake and a signed card from everyone. Instead there was nothing done at all. I can't imagine how Conchita the lady who was leaving must have felt when she saw that no one cared at all to do anything. When Home Depot hires young people, (which she is not) they often have cake or cookies and sign a Home Depot apron and give it to the employee, on the day they leave, so why did they do NOTHING and those employees often don't work there very long and still get recognition. Customer service. Needed an entry way transfer so I stopped at the desk by the door and window area to find out if they had anything longer than standard door opening. I approached a sales associate standing next to the desk to check if they had anything longer than standard door width. He said "Find someone with an apron." I apologized and explained to him my mistake. He rudely said " He is an associate, blew his nose and left." Why would you work in sales/customer service if this is your job? I gave my contractor $100 to pick up small supplies for a water heater replacement. The $100 bill was older and my GC is Mexican. The Home Depot staff and woman Manager on duty harassed him and told him it's fake. The took him aside and interrogated him He returned and was embarrassed as was I since it was my cash. I did not want redistribute the cash so called my bank, BofA. They asked me to bring the $100 in their branch which I did. Immediately they said it's real and deposited it back in my account and offered a crisp new $100. I was so upset that I called Home Depot and the manager on duty didn't really care or apologize. He said because they are seeing a lot of counterfeit bills this is normal. I was stunned. Stereotyping, labeling, demoralizing people is not okay. Do better Home Depot. I went to Home Depot today to copy some keys. Didn't know where to go so I asked a Home Depot employee for help. Their employees are friendly and knowledgeable. They know the place pretty well. They have 2 machines to make keys - one is an automatic one and one can only be operated by their employees. If you have a normal, common house keys, the automatic machine works well, fast and cheaper than similar automatic machines in other places. If you have a less common key that the automatic machine can't recognize, ask an employee to help you use the other machine. It was ~$4/key. Recommend copying your keys here! read more

Two stars because they do have things in stock that isn't available in other stores and which is why we ended up going here despite my resolution not to give them any business. There is not a single person who helps you in the store. They pretend not to see you even if you are right in front of them and waving for their attention. If you stand in their path and ask for help then the answer is they will find someone and then you can say goodbye to the next hour. We wanted measurements for blinds and the lady behind the counter complained how tired she was, took a non urgent call from her father to chitchat and then took ages to enter our order into the system. We came here to make a copy of our house keys. Normally it's a pain to track someone down to make a copy of your keys. However, now they have a machine you can use yourself to make your own key. I know they have these machines all over the place now but most of them are really expensive. Which is why I've always gone to Home Depot to make my copies. The good news is the self service key machine is the same price as if they were to make a copy for you. Home Depot is always my go to hardware store. I'll be back again! read more

This is by far the most organized garden center at a Home Depot that I've been too. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was hand sanitizer in large containers and detergents. I walked straight to the garden area. On my way I saw a row of fresh roses and flowers. I grabbed a bouquet for under $10. I was looking for a vase and asked the employee fixing shelves if they had any. She stated they had pots but no vases. I entered the garden area and was pleased to see a few pots and planters. Other locations have no pots whatsoever. All the indoor plants were nice and organized. I grabbed a couple more bags of soil and headed to the outdoor plant area. The whole are was clean and organized. There was clear yellow markers to be cautious on the aisles that had just been watered. The cashier was welcoming and struck up friendly conversation during our transaction. I proceeded to pay for my stuff and I was on my way out. There was staff all over the place so getting help was easy. The store was busy as usual. I parked on the opposite side of the garden area so hauling my 3 bags of soil and other items was not easy. Next time I'll park closer to the garden area. The parking lot is large to accommodate large and small vehicles alike. I basically have to hit-up each store in the area and clean them out of their entire stock every time we need them. Not only is this a complete waste of my time but it's not fair for the other customers. Unfortunately their website doesn't offer any way to order them, so seeing as we have a HD PRO® account I stopped by the PRO desk to ask if we could order them in bulk. The lady working the desk informed me that it wasn't possible. And that I had to continue to doing what I've been doing. Unsatisfied with this answer I decided to call their PRO customer service line (866.333.3551) and lo-and-behold they were more than accommodating. I managed to order up a large amount and was left satisfied. While their customer service line is 5-stars their in-store service left me wanting. Not sure if she was ill-informed, lazy, apathetic--or a combo platter! Regardless, she didn't try and that deserves 1-star. read more

This review is solely based on my experience with the plant nursery section of the place, more specifically with the indoor plants. TLDR: Great basic selection (common houseplants in different sizes); Solid pricing (low price for value); Generally healthy (didn't many any pests, sometimes leaves burnt/broken, needs better soil) For all my plant enthusiast, we all know big-name stores tend to be a hit a miss, typically a miss. I rather support local nurseries, but I thought I'd check out Home Depot anyways just to be familiar. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the plants. I think this is one of the big-name store locations that might actually be a hit. How lucky! I've been to Lowes and Ikea and they did not compare. This Home Depot location is a solid place if you don't know where to start and want something more affordable. You can find some great steals (read about my snake plant purchase). This location seems dependable in terms of having generally healthy plants. I still encourage checking local nurseries first before big chains! Support local businesses! Home Depot had a great selection for common house plants, such as zz plants, snake plant, peace lily, rubber tree, money tree, fiddle leaf fig, pothos, and more. They came in a variety of sizes, too. CONDITION: Overall, many plants seemed to be in a healthy condition based on the leaves. Sometimes leaves were dry/sunburnt, broken off, etc. However, overall the leaves were in good condition that showed that the plant should be healthy. I didn't look at the soil too much though, so be sure to check for root rot before buying. When I checked the soil when repotting, the roots were in good condition. I didn't notice pests either, but still be sure to double-check! I noticed the soil for the plants weren't that great. The soil does not come with perlite so I don't think there is any good proper drainage so be careful when watering! When repotting, be sure to add anything to help drain the water to avoid root rot. Also, few plants did have clovers in the soil. PRICES: Dieffenbachia: (6") = $12 Dracena: (6") = $10 Fiddle Leaf Fig: (10") = $25 Peace Lily: (6") = $12 (10") = $25 Pothos: (4") = $4.50 (6") = $11 Philodendron Split Leaf: (6") = $10 Money Tree: (4") = $8 (6") = $13 (10") = $43 Rubber Tree: (6") = $10 (8") = $17 Sansevieria: (6") = $12 ZZ Plant: (4") = $8 (6") = $15 (10") = $33 Prices are competitive. They are a value for the price. For instance, I bought my 6" snake plant at this Home Depot. The foilage was quite tall. The plant was deforming it's nursery pot and ready to be repotted. Mine came with three stocks in the pot and was already growing four babies. (Half of the babies broke off when I repotted when trying to get it out of the nursery pot. The survived baby has grown a lot in the two weeks I've had it!) What a steal! Plants are generally around the same price for the pot size but range more as pot size increases. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The staff was helpful. The employee I initially approached didn't know anything about houseplants so she directed me to someone who did right away. She radioed for someone more knowledgeable to come to answer my questions and they came right away. They were able to answer my questions and show me around. NOTES: - Spathiphyllum (peace lily) comes with a blooming flower already - At this location, the rubber tree was only in the burgundy species and I could not find any ficus elastica. - Pothos come in hanging pots for 6", but not for 4" - Larger plants (10") come with a woven planter - Some plants had tags with general care instructions read more

Watched too many home improvement videos past weekend and as expected some projects started to churn in my head. Home Depot staff has always been helpful no matter what location in South Bay. I had to return a curtain rod to get another color and there were no issues returning. I love shopping at any of the HD locations to get more ideas and always find what I need. read more
