The General Manager, Kimberly Lowery, has gone above and beyond to make our school's Staff Appreciation event special and delicious and she works with us to stay within our budget year after year. Went back in to check on a larger size (which I ordered) and asked if I had my receipt which I wasn't given! Next year i will save my money and purchase a ham from Costco or Sam's. This is a review of Honey Baked Ham's website, not the actual product. Because the website was so bad, I never could actually order a ham. I buy products online weekly and use multiple websites, so I'm an experienced user of websites. The HBH website was impossible. I basically got into a loop and had to repeatedly enter my pickup time and credit card information. For example, I selected my pickup time and then the site asked me to enter my credit card information. Once I entered my card information, the site asked me again for my pickup time. I re-entered my pickup time and then the site asked again for my credit card information! Life's too short to buy anything from a company that has a lousy website. read more

One day before Thanksgiving and, as always, line out the door. Once inside prepaid were taken quickly, those arriving without a pre-order waited TWO HOURS inside the store while we watched pre-pay after pre-pay enter and exit easily. Several people, myself included, were told over the phone in the preceding days NOT to order online, that the store would be fully stocked and "just come on in". Why would that information be given out? The Manager, Kim (she refused to give her name but two employees provided it, unasked), was summoned and she came out eventually with a scowl. She refused to answer questions, refused to even alternate the middle of three registers to take both kinds of customers, and then was surly and rude. The crowd inside the store reacted as you might expect - unfavorably - to her. Later, an elderly man behind me in line for two hours nearly fainted - I requested a chair from the back of the store for him to sit on and then I walked him to his car. Finally, 2:20 hours later, I purchased my food. I told Kim, loudly but respectfully in front of a full store, how hard her employees were working today and then that I would be providing feedback to the store's owner and to Corporate about her miserable service. I will never every return to this location until that unpleasant, ineffective and downright disrespectful manager Kim is fired. This is an example of a long-running American company doing one thing VERY well (making and selling honey-glazed and spiral cut hams) before doing anything else. I confess - prior to this Thanksgiving, I had never visited a Honey Baked Ham Company (HBHC) store. Our family had been including their hams as part of holiday celebrations since...TVs had rotary UHF/VHF dials. As an ol- a more seasoned adult, I viewed the business through a different lens. These folks know how to scale for holiday season and they know how to take care of their patrons. From the web order on my phone (which was super painless) to my slightly embarrassed call to customer service "just to make sure" they'd have a ham the next morning when I showed up..HBHC was staffed with helpful, cheerful, and courteous people. Once the Epic Line at 9 AM had finally snaked inside the entrance, I saw a panoply of holiday fixings. You could LITERALLY build your holiday meal inside an HBHC. My doctor and my cholesterol may not thank you, but my tastebuds and my holiday spirit send the Honey Baked Ham Company our well wishes. May you and yours enjoy the holiday season!! read more

I have been craving this ham for a while so I decided to get one for this New Year. After reading the reviews of customers who pre ordered how disappointed they were I decided to go to their store to purchase instead. I also decided not to wait until the day before New Year's day, Friday. Turns out to be perfect timing, I went Wednesday morning and there was only one customer in the store, the door was locked, perhaps due to COVID and an employee opened for me. There were signs in the floor to ensure distancing and all food on display were carefully wrapped. Signs posted that masks are required and employees wore masks. The girl serving me was very friendly and helpful I got the size I wanted and it was as delicious as I expected. read more

Talk about poor customer service! I bought a small container of chicken salad a few days ago at the Leisure World store, only to find a piece of bone in it. Not a pleasant experience! I also ordered a smoked turkey sandwich. The photo in the store showed a beautiful sandwich, with at least four slices of turkey. The sandwich I bought had just 2 small slices of turkey. I would barely define that as a sandwich! I debated whether to bother returning the chicken salad. Today, I decided on principle, I should let the store know. The manager was angry with me; telling me it was impossible there would be bone. She also told me the turkey sandwich didn't have to look like the picture, since it was all done by weight. Well, it is the eve of Thanksgiving and for those who do not feel like spending the time in the kitchen to prepare that annual epic meal and you are ok with spending the dollars, Honey Baked Ham is there to make Thanksgiving convenient for you. Just note, it will cost but almost worth it. Turkey and Ham cooked seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Meat is very moist. Fried turkey is still my favorite but I do not know if they ofer tem yet on the menu. And of course, what's a grand meal with the sides to match. Let's see, mac-n cheese, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and many other sides and desserts are available. At this location, it was easy to get through the long line. I purchased a half-ham for Thanksgiving. The chart indicated it would serve about 7 people. When I open up the package on Thanksgiving day, I did not have 7 half slices, nor was all the slices top edible. The coating of honey topping was burnt and hard. I had to cut the top off of each slice -what a disappointment. I barely had enough, let alone any leftovers. I was truly shocked. I purchased hams from this location before. I should have known when the Rep didn't open the package so I could see it before leaving as they had done in the past. For $68, I expected enough for 7-8 servings with some leftovers. SMOKE STACKER ON PRETZEL BREAD! My mom and I were staring at the menu still debating whether or not we wanted the $5 footlong at Subway next door (better bang for your buck, eh?), but we finally decided we've passed by this place WAY too much to not give it a try at least one time. This sandwich was literally PILED and stuffied with their amazing HAM, cheddar cheese, BBQ SAUCEEE, bacon, and basic veggies in between this awesome pretzel bread (they ran out of their regular white bread; our luck!!). This was my first time having pretzel bread, and it was so soft and chewyy yet thick enough to hold all the fillings perfectly. What a hidden gem for lunch! Like many others I come here once, twice max, a year for a holiday ham. Turns out they also have sandwiches, soup, and salads made to order. The sandwiches are all $6.99 and mostly some variation of ham or turkey. They're pretty substantial. Remember, this isn't like your average deli with thinly sliced deli meat. The sandwiches are more filling than you'd expect. They also have a pick two (half sandwich/salad/soup) for just a dollar and something more. I'd definitely recommend that since the sandwiches are so filling. They only have one soup a day which is a bummer. The employees are super nice and more than willing to customize your sandwich. My only complaint is that they always forget my pickle! read more

We have used them for our office's Lunch and Learn seminar today and everything was great. The price and the delivery cost was affordable and the order arrived on time. Everything also looked appetizing and EVERYONE liked their meal. They have an online order option and as long as it is done 2 Days in advance you can place an order. Like you, I too wondered what in the world I was doing in a Honeybaked Ham store on a Saturday morning. Tucked away in a strip mall adjacent to an old people's community, this place is completely random, but was also the source of our brilliant centerpiece at last Saturday's Foodstival. I remember my parents getting ham from this store, so I thought that since our Foodstival will need some kind of meat, ham is something a bit different and unexpected. We walked in the store and got to talk to an employee right away. We told him we were having a party for about 30 that night and he directed us to the chart taped right under our noses that listed how big of a ham to get for a certain number of people. Very useful! So we went with a 10-pound ham, and he disappeared in the back saying that he'll have something ready for us in 10 minutes. Really? What are we supposed to do in a HoneyBaked Ham store for 10 minutes? So we walked around the very small store, looked at all of the jars of sauces, read the labels, looked at the menu, looked at the jars again... and what seemed like forever later, out emerged our man with two huge hams in his hands. He opened them up and told us to choose one. They smelled divine. They were on the bone, and the outside was covered in this sugary something that was really delicious. We chose the ham we liked, paid around $65 (wow but totally worth it), and headed to our next stop. Everyone drooled all over the ham and absolutely loved it. It was really delicious, but the second best thing about it was that it was so easy. It's supposed to be served at room temperature, so there's no need to refrigerate or heat before serving. Just peel off the slices of ham, dump it on a plate, and voila! There are several Honey Baked Ham stores in the DC area, so if you're thinking about getting a get-together, remember that pigs know how to party! read more

I stopped here because I was visiting a friend in the area - normally I go to the one in Severna Park or Columbia. I was very disappointed. The lighting was very dim and I did not see any display or samples of product out. The store seemed dingy and very sad. I asked for 2 Tavern Clubs and it was not put on the correct bread that I asked for. I did not notice it until I was already home. They were just o.k. - the bread was a little stale. I would have said 3.5 to be exact. It's good, but nothing to write home about. It is basically a menu that consists of sandwiches and salads, that you would make out of your holiday leftovers. If you've got a hankering for some ham, just like you would eat the day after Xmas, then they've got your number. This year because of my job being so demanding, I forgot to pick up my ham...totally slipped my mind. I remember when they first opened...my mom and aunt would talk about waiting in the long lines outside the store to get this delicious ham. With the pandemic going on I wasn't surprised to see a line at 6pm the night before thanksgiving. The line moved quickly, the employees were all friendly and pleasant. As I waited to be served I realized I forgot my coupon...it was my lucky day because the customer before me handed me a coupon. Here's my disappointment and the reason for the one star. I placed my order on line the night before, order E25-1...I assumed this guaranteed me a ham...no where did I see "first come first serve" or "your order is not guaranteed!" So, I was shocked and disappointed that there was no ham for me...I ended up having to spend $90 on a ham when I ordered a small ham because there are only four meat eaters in my family and my mom wanted to keep this thanksgiving dinner small because of the pandemic. I ordered a cajun turkey that was supposed to be picked up today. However, when I arrived, I was notified that the store did not receive any turkeys, even though I received multiple emails telling me my order was ready for pickup. I asked to receive a turkey breast and a small ham instead of two turkey breasts, but I was told that I could only get a turkey. Also, the staff never scanned the QR code and proceeded to ask me 21 questions about my order. What a complete waste of time. I went into the Leisure World location on 9/3/2021 to pick up a honey baked ham and around 12 pm. It had been several years since I had a honey baked ham but I remember how wonderful they were and thought it would be perfect for my dinner party. The staff was very nice but I noticed there were a lot of hams in the case and since it was not a holiday I wondered how old the hams were. I was assured by Tonia the ham was cooked that morning. I did not look at the ham until I was preparing dinner. The outside glaze was one hard mess. When you touched it the hard glaze fell off in big chunks. The first 3 spiral layers were dried out looking. If this ham was fresh it was over cooked. I did not have time to return to the store so I cut off the dried part and served it. The ham was dry throughout. I guess my days with the Honey Baked Ham store are over. I paid $69.03 for that ham. *Note - Check the ham before you leave the store. If I could give it a negative star, I would. After ordering Thanksgiving meal, and paying online over a month ago, I arrived today at my appointed pick up time. I was met with a long line to stand in for over an hour to pick up my meal. Once I finally got in the store, I had to wait for one of the items I ordered, and was then told that they had none of the side dishes I ordered because "the person that placed the store order messed up". Meanwhile, there was another line of people who could walk in and order. Maybe they got the sides I ordered. After expressing my irritation, the woman helping me acted like it was no big deal. She never apologized or tried to make it right. I took the refund for the meal and got the ham and turkey separate. I was so pissed that it wasn't until I got home that I realized she overcharge me! Then, I had to scramble at the grocery store so my family's Thanksgiving wasn't ruined. On Friday two phone calls will be made. We got a half a ham and a large sweet potato cake for Easter. The ham was delicious, as is expected with Honeybaked Ham. And that cake. OH THAT CAKE! It had a perfect amount of spice and sweet potato flavor. And the cream cheese icing was a great sweet complement to the spiced cake. When we picked up our items at the store, they were offering free samples of the different cakes, which was nice. And the checkout lady was incredibly friendly and conversational. Been in here twice-it's quite obvious this is a corporate owned operation-Honeybaked ham speaks for itself..delicious. This does not mean however that they have top-notch management or employees working there-memorial day went in there trying to feed seven people:I simply asked if they could make a bigger sandwich and just cut it into a bunch of little pieces. The manager of the store told me that was classified as a catering order and I would have to give them 48 hours to prepare!!! Mind you,no one was in the store. My only option there would be to purchase seven different sandwiches. I asked them if they could this one time prepare just a big ham sandwich or even a few and cut them into thirds and they could not handle this request. I went to the giant deli next-door and got sliced ham a couple large baguettes and made my own. The second time I went in there again there was no one in there, The only employee that appeared to be working was smoking on the bench right next to the front door. I apprehensively went in to find that there was no one in the store. I turn to leave and someone who appeared to be the manager asked me if she could help me. I asked her if it was company policy to have employees smoke right at the entrance of the store. She told me that the employee was supposed to be on the side of the building but really only another 6 feet away. I asked for the general managers number but was so turned off by my reception and the smoking I left. I by no means am a smoking Nazi but find it absolutely repulsive to have an employee at a place that prepares food smoking right as you walk into the store. AMAZING! So yes, obviously you must try the honey baked ham here. But what I thought was even better was the turkey!! It was super juicy and delicious. There are two types of turkey, and in having trouble remembering which kind we got. It was the one that had a brown sugar crust all around it and OH. MY. GOD. The juice that comes off of this thing is divine. I could drink it. That good! The ham was just as good, but there was something about the turkey to me that was better. It's expensive, but worth every now and then for having people over or making sandwiches. No other toppings needed. They also have side dishes to complete a meal. And the best part is they will let you sample all of the meats they have so you can decide what to get. read more

We have been buying our hams at this location for many years and have always been very pleased with our purchases. However, the ham I purchased on Friday April 19th was not up to their usual standards received. I don't know if this particular store is under new management, but the young lady that waited on me didn't even greet me when she called me up to make my selection. I asked for one of the largest hams they had; she returns and showed it to me. It looked fine, but once we started to plate it to serve for Easter dinner, we were quite disappointed. There was so much fat that could not be seen (until playing) and the spiral cut did not go completely to the bone. And there was so much ham that had not even been cut. Normally, there is a good amount left uncut, but this ham had way too much that was not able to be plated and served. I don't know if this store is under new management, or what the issue was / is, but I may have to find a different store. For what these hams cost per pound, I expect more than what I received this year quality wise. Very disappointed this time around . read more

Okay... Why did I just find out about this place in 2013? Their honey baked ham is OMG good. Best honey baked ham I've ever had. I have always liked honey baked ham, but I never crave it or go out and buy it or anything myself. But that has definitely changed... Their honey baked ham is NOTHING like the grocery store kind, that I've always thought was eh. They also have frozen sides (broccoli and rice casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, etc.). Their ham is definitely on the pricey side (got a 8 lb. honey baked ham and a broccoli and rice casserole for a few dollars short of $70), but I definitely think it's worth it for a special occasion. read more

Horrible Holiday experience. Reserved a "Quarter Ham - 4 - 6 pounds, $35 - $55" for pickup. Showed up on the scheduled day and was told "all the small ones are gone" and the guy at the counter showed me an opened foil bag with a piece of ham in it longer than my forearm. Told me it was a large quarter ham, over 8 pounds and around $80. Bait and switch, don't you think? I had a reservation # and all that, but it did no good. With no room in our freezer, I asked if he could cut/slice it down smaller and he said no. I asked, "then how do you make the sandwiches?" and he says they come prepackaged. Then he offered to sell ham to me "by the slice" in prepackaged foil bags and since I wanted my new bride to try the ham, I paid the higher per slice price (it was just the two of us for our first Christmas dinner as husband and wife). I told the cashier and she said "yeah, I don't even know why they take reservations, this happens all the time". Really bad experience. No doubt, it's good ham, don't get me wrong, but overpriced and when you add the poor customer service to the picture, I won't ever go back again. You are better off buying a ham and marinating it in a brown sugar, honey or even poured Coca Cola mixture and save yourself money and aggravation. Terrible way to treat customers any day of the year, much less at Christmas time. Any place else would have worked something out. Bait and switch is a real issue some places and when the employees themselves agree with you that something is horribly wrong with their system but make no attempt to make things right, why would a customer ever come back? Ordered the VIP platter for 10. Website says you can choose your meats (ham, turkey, roast beef) but when I called to order had to order all 3 though I wanted ham and turkey only. The ham and turkey were delicious but the beef was dreadful. It wasn't what one would consider roast beef - it was hard to identify - looked like a bunch of beef parts that had been put into a blender and reconstituted and sliced very thinly. It was grey in color and was most unappetizing in appearance. Ended up throwing all the "beef "in the trash. The broccoli salad would have been fantastic if it had been made the day it was picked up - but it was wilted and over-saturated with dressing because it wasn't fresh. The bread they provided was just two loaves of sliced bread. No rolls, buns or other selection as appeared in the promotional photos. read more

The meats were fine but all of the side orders ( stuffing, potato cassarole, Apples, were aweful. They were so bad that they were not edible. I tired calling the honeybaked company but I was disconnected when I finally reached someone on the phone to explain my issue. So, I then emailed the company but I never got a response back. So my advice is to skip the Honeybaked Ham company for holiday orders. You wont get a refund on spoiled food. read more
