My family, friends and business colleagues have been going to Honor Bar for years but the poor attitudes, arrogance and disrespect has become too much to tolerate. The trait I love the most about great restaurants in Dallas is the warm, welcoming and friendly atttude...this is not Honor Bar. The holier than thou attitude hit an all time high when my daughter and her friends dropped a couple hundred dollars and then were called by a manager and told "maybe we are not the restaurant for you" when they did not like the tip amount. So if you want to be treated poorly for average food, wait long times for a table (no reservations) then this might be the place for you. The Honor Bar is a place you go to get seen & eat good food. A reservation is a must & you can now book in advance for tables up to 3 - perfect! The wait time is usually a few hours around dinner time if you don't have a reservation. There also is a strict dress code that's enforced so make sure you follow it (mainly just business casual). Our group had a bottle of wine & a few cocktails - all delicious. The food is always high quality too. Note that sides do not come with entrees, so you have to order a side in addition. Most of us girls are fans of the massive salads. The menu is pricey, typically costing $75-100/person if ordering drinks. It's all worth it though! I'm 30 weeks pregnant and was refused service and asked to leave because my outfit did not fit their dress code policy. The hostess told me I was dressed inappropriately and if I did not cover up my stomach I would not be seated. When I asked to speak to the manager, Daniel came out and was even more rude and said it doesn't matter that I'm pregnant because they are enforcing their dress code against inappropriate and offensive clothing. I didn't realize a baby bump was offensive when it's 80 out with 80% humidity. Then I was asked to leave. Absolutely disgusting behavior to treat any guests this way let along a pregnant woman. Also, per their website it states no where that you cannot show mid drift. Shameful behavior and should have been handled differently. Disgusting. read more

Have gone to honor bar twice now and this most recent visit was a bit sucky :( food is excellent but the service this past visit was not good. The waitress took our IDs to be scanned when we ordered drinks which was interesting (last time they just looked at them) and the vibe was weird after she came back with our IDs - no big deal though. She got our food order and then she did not come back until we were done with our meal which sucked because I wanted to order another drink and never got to until she came to take our finished plates. While visiting Highland Park with co-workers we stopped in for drinks later in the day, but well before diner service. The hostess appeared friendly, but was quite snobby and wasn't very interested in assisting us. We ended up finding a spot in the bar, where we enjoyed some pretty nice cocktails, but once we were done with the first round, she asked us if we were done and told us diner service was beginning, prompting us to leave. During our stay at this table, another service came over to help us and we were going to order appetizers, but she saw this and promptly said something to the server, ushering her away. The venue is cozy and nice with a pretty good cocktail menu and the food looked great too. But the service from this hostess was pretty bad. We commented to each other that she clearly judged us upon entering, as we weren't as "pretty" as many of the patrons se probably expects there. Definitely wouldn't return. read more

Despite charging premium prices, the experience felt rushed from start to finish. Our server began pushing us out within the first 45 minutes of lunch, clearing appetizers while we were still eating and placing to-go boxes on the table after I had only taken a few bites of my chicken sandwich, which was underwhelming at best. We were sat a very small table in the middle of the walkway; not my favorite spot to be seated but that's just me. The whole place is a vibe a very upscale vibe. The menu is very small but offers a nice selection. We ordered the chicken meatballs and the deviled eggs; which both were very delicious. We have been coming here for years. I have two people in my home that are vegetarian. They used to have a sandwich that they really liked. Drove all the way here from Prosper and waited almost an hour to discover they had removed all vegetarian items from the menu. I requested an accommodation for them with the manager and was refused. The ambiance is such a vibe. Love the art on the wall, neon sign, wood finishes and the candle lighting. There's bar seating, indoor and outdoor seating as well. We went on a Monday afternoon and were seated immediately. The hostess and servers were friendly, observant, and quick. Drinks and food came out in record time. The food was excellent. I had the ahi tuna salad. It was vfresh, balanced, light & had just the right amount of kick to it. My husband had the rotisserie chicken salad and he had no complaints. The obnoxious way that the manager treated my friends and I was pathetic. Karen behavior at its best. We were told by the manager, "Emily" that we were too loud and when we challenged her she made up an excuse saying that three other tables had complained about how loud we were, which was complete BS. The management and staff are rude and their "rules" are ridiculous and only apply if you look like you don't belong there. They make black men remove baseball caps while white men wear them all the time in the dining area. There has also been several occasions where the wait for a table is excessively long and white people are seated out of order regardless of when they arrived. The last straw was when my friend was told where she could and could not sit her purse. If you aren't white, beware of this place! Most of their 1 star reviews have a similar tone. read more

I called to calmly complain about a staff member named Alyssa, and the "manager" Emily got so defensive, yelling at me that they are both in fact managers there, and hung up the phone.
