Our full meal took over two hours, which was too long for some sides and salads! Drink: The Crush - was super watered down and could barely taste the grape flavor. Disappointing. Apps: Burrata Toast and Chilled Jalapeños: The toast was tasty, but nothing special. Warning -- the jalapeños were very very spicy! Avoid if you're sensitive to spice! Extremely rude and unprofessional - rules change based on hostess or whomever is at front. Stopped by on Sunday for late lunch and had no problems . Came by today after shopping in highland village and the lady at the front did not seat us because we were in sweatsuits. Weirdly, on Sunday , sweatsuits and leggings were fine. She then proceeded to tell us we can 'look at their website' and that 'she wasn't there on Sunday' . Again very weird customer service toward potential patrons . I've always loved Hillstone restaurants so was super excited to try The Honor Bar. Note that parking is very tight and congested in Highland Park Village so give yourself plenty of time to park and then head over. My friend was raving over The Crush which has smashed grapes inside the cocktail and it definitely did not disappoint. We started with the Deviled Eggs which clearly is a favorite at this restaurant since we saw pretty much every table around us ordering them, and yes they were very good. I was debating on what to get as my entree and ultimately ended up with the Ahi Tuna Poke which was not only presented beautifully but was made to perfection. Our server was very attentive and our water glasses were always full as well. The inside of the restaurant is not super big but they also have a bar area and patio seating. I have always enjoyed my dining experiences at any of the Hillstone Restaurant Group establishments. The Honor Bar in Highland Park Village in Dallas is as exceptional compared to my previous superb Hillstone experiences in California. Over the last several years, I make it a point to have a meal here when I'm in the Dallas area. The interior is quaint, cozy, warm, and inviting as the front of the house staff. I typically have their Crab Cake Salad, which is amazing. Interactions with their wait staff have all been filled with cheer and warmth. With how much hype Honor Bar gets on social media and the long wait to get a table for lunch (30-45mins), I was expecting something amazing... it didn't live up to the hype. The best I tasted from the things we ordered was the Crab Cake Salad. The crab meat was really good. It's like they took crab legs, shredded it up, and served it to you. Lots of flavors. The next best item was the Chilled Jumbo Shrimp. These things are HUGE! If you're a fan of shrimp cocktails, you will like this. The other two items: Ahi Tuna Tartare and Burrata on Toast was average, if that. The Ahi Tuna dish did not impress me at all. I can go to a local poke place and get the same tuna chunks for half the price. Also, there's too much olive oil on the avocado. I simply did not like the Burrata dish... too much cheese, oil, and butter... just too much. All of the grease ends up getting stuck in your throat and it ruins the rest of the meal. The area is surrounded by high-end shops, perfect for browsing or window shopping before or after your meal. To drink, I ordered the Jack Rabbit. Tequila is always my go-to spirit, and this cocktail came recommended by our server. The combination of tequila, Campari, and mint was refreshing and well-balanced -- a great drink to sip on while enjoying dinner. For my entrée, I went with Ding's Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I don't usually order sandwiches at restaurants, but this one has a reputation online. Served cut into thirds, it's generously stacked with crispy chicken, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, and a slaw. I recently had lunch at Honor Bar and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. We spent a considerable amount of money dining there, and everything was fine until we asked for a small cup of water for our 25 lb mini Goldendoodle, who was quietly and well-behaved beside us. First, our waitress told us she "didn't have any cups," even though they clearly had to-go cups available. That response felt dishonest. We then asked to speak with the manager to better understand the policy. She said she didn't know the reason and needed to call the ownership company. When she returned, she still had no explanation and simply said she could not provide water for our dog. It was around 80 degrees outside. It is not reasonable to let a dog sit in that heat without water. Providing a small cup of water is a basic act of courtesy. This should not require calling upper management, and it certainly should not be denied without explanation. We understand that restaurants may have policies regarding pets. However, the lack of transparency, empathy, and common sense in this situation was very disappointing -- especially at this price point. Hospitality includes basic decency. We will not go back and not recommend this place for any animals lover ! read more

Instead, they got no revenue from us and highly reduced the likelihood that we will return. The inability of the manager to make a decision that drives revenue and good will is a recurring issue we have experienced more and more in our travels. Again, being told there was no patio seating would have been completely fine if it had been communicated clearly and respectfully. I'm also the Creative Director for a major hospitality group with restaurants in LA, New York, and Miami, and we regularly host high-profile guests. Our teams are trained to communicate clearly, stay consistent, and handle every guest with professionalism, which is a big reason our ratings are significantly stronger. This interaction felt below the standard a well-run venue should accept. I hope the GM takes this seriously and coaches the front door staff accordingly. We ultimately chose to go to another restaurant in Highland Park, where we were instantly recognized and accommodated with the level of professionalism you would expect. We made our reservation online about 2 days prior, so getting in was no issue for us, but I recommend booking ahead if you can because inside and outside were both pretty small. There's a limited menu but there's easily something for everyone. I wasn't too hungry so got the chicken meatballs and the French fries and they are both so yummy and flavorful. I knew I wanted a white wine to pair but I wasn't sure which I wanted, the waitress recommended the Pinot Grigio and it was really smooth. I think this is only my second Yelp review ever, but this trainwreck deserved it. If I could leave fewer than one star, I absolutely would. The single pity star goes to the food, which was decent--but completely overshadowed by what might be the worst customer service experience of my entire life. And this is coming from a fat-kid foodie who will usually overlook a lot for a good meal. From the very first interaction, our server (blonde, tragic red lipstick, name unknown) was dripping with pretentious, nose-turned-up energy. Every time she approached the table she wore this condescending little smirk, like we were either stupid or personally ruining her evening. My counterpart and I were simply talking, enjoying our $70+ salad and sandwich, when she repeatedly interrupted us with, "Are you still working... or can I take your plates?"--complete with eye-rolls--and was clearly trying to speed-run us out the door within 30-45 minutes of being seated. Mind you, my counterpart still had an untouched basket of fries and two-thirds of his sandwich on the plate. After her second attempt to whisk it away, he finally just gave up and said, "Sure, you can take my plate," purely out of exhaustion. At that point, I decided to adopt a full "screw it" mindset. Apparently our refusal to be bullied out offended her deeply, because when her passive-aggressive tactics failed, she escalated and sent over her manager--slightly less rude, but much more passive aggressive--to formally ask us to leave as she painfully smiled, showing every last tooth in her mouth. I did some shopping in Highland Park Village and asked my sales associate for a lunch recommendation. He mentioned The Honor Bar, which was kitty-corner from the store. I was informed that it would take 20 minutes for one to become available, so I opted to sit at the bar. My bartender was awesome. She was friendly and helpful, and she was so good at reading the room. She intuitively knew when I was going to ask her something before I was going to call her attention. A big reason of why I chose to go to The Honor Bar was because my sales associate said that the chicken sandwich and fries were fire. The Honor Bar actually had 2 kinds of chicken sandwiches: a fried chicken and rotisserie chicken. My bartender said that the fried chicken sandwich was THE sandwich to get so I had to comply. Fries didn't come with the dish, But I ordered that as my add-on side. My fries came out first, and they were really that good. Loved how they were thinly cut and extra crunchy. Whatever seasoned salt that came out with the fries was amazing. Lastly, the fried chicken sandwich was excellent. I was surprised to see how stacked it was. Will never ever be back. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. A coworker and I were meeting a great client of ours for happy hour at 5 on a weeknight, the restaurant was not busy other than the bar. She told me that it would be open seating at the bar or outside. Since I was meeting a client and didn't want to sit in a row at the bar, I found a table outside and sat down, my coworker arrived and joined me and we each ordered a drink and two appetizers. Our client was running late. A few minutes later the hostess I had just spoken to came over to us and said "Did you just seat yourself??" As if she hadn't just told me to do so. I apologized and said yes I thought you told me we could sit outside. She said "yeah...in the OUTSKIRTS" she and the server then rushed us to some lounge chairs around a tiny coffee table, which really just seems like an area to wait on a table. We were mortified, the few other tables of people outside all watched the whole thing, the hostess acted as if I had just waltzed into the patio and seated myself without talking to anyone. Then we were told that one of the appetizers we ordered was not available because "they don't serve anything that requires utensils" at this new table we were made to sit at. If I didn't have a client on the way I would have left at this point. Then we watched as the same thing happened to another table, and their food had been cancelled. Our client texted and asked if it would be ok if he ordered dinner, so my coworker went inside and asked if we could be seated at a table where meals were allowed. The hostess said yes but we would need to close out first. We closed out outside and went inside with our drinks where we were told we would need to wait to be seated until our last guest arrived. He came a few minutes later and we were seated in a nice booth. We enjoyed several rounds of drinks and great food. As we were finishing up our meal our waitress asked if there was anything else she could bring, my clients partner was in the area so we said a fourth would be joining us just for one round of drinks. (We had been in the booth less than an hour) our waitress told us that if she laid eyes on him in the next six minutes we could have another round, otherwise she would have to give up the table. (There were several open tables in the restaurant) Luckily, he arrived with a minute to spare and we were able to finish our evening. Food and drinks were great and I did tip normally in hopes that these ridiculous rules are not the wait staff's fault. I have never ever been rushed like this, and it is unfathomable for a restaurant that doesn't even take reservations (for more than 2 people?) to treat customers this way. Make sure you have a reservation. Always busy. The food is awesome. I love the veggie sandwich enjoy coming here. You can't go wrong.

Geneva is the best. Great pours, awesome atmosphere. Ahi is the best, don't sleep on their salads
