Stopped by as we were passing through Benson and had a great experience. We were sat immediately and the restaurant is cute and clean. The food was GREAT. They have drink options at the bar and a couple of televisions to watch while you eat. We definitely will be coming back.

Great food with a reasonable price tag. The staffs are so friendly - it felt like a very tight community. My highlight was the soup with chunky beef. It was so hearty I'm gutted that I didn't get a bowl of it. I'm still thinking about it two days after I had it.

Mixed experiences here. If I had to rate this business based on my first experience, I would rate it much higher. However, I've been back twice and the service and seating was horrible. The ambiance depends on where you sit. If you're seating to the left of the register when you walk in, you'll be seated in or near the bar. You'll also likely be forgotten about. My advice: refuse to sit there. Long wait to be seated? They aren't the only place in town. The food is pretty good, but nothing I crave enough to put up with lousy service and a couldn't-care-less attitude.

Local restaurant that is known for having great sandwiches. I ordered a grilled cheese (don't judge me) I really liked it. My mom and aunt both ordered the same sandwich. I love that they have drinks from Sioux City it's one of my favorite sodas. It is an older spot and does have seating for about 50 plus. It's definitely a staple in Benson and I can see why, the staff is so friendly and really hospitable.

Ohh-Holy small town Hallmark goodness! This gem is worth getting off the freeway for! The vibe was totally a "hub of a town, in the Midwest" cafe. Service was small town hospitality welcoming. Get the jalapeño poppers FOR SURE! By far the standout in our group. I ordered the club and had them add pickles. French fries were so so good! Don't leave without getting some chili! No, I don't care how warm it is. Order the chili as a side, as a main, on fries. I don't care, just order it! The price point of the kids meals was a little high, just something to note. And the crust of any pie (we sampled 3) was delicious! But our favorite was the banana cream. 100% worth a stop!

Our appetizer was good, the fried zucchini. Our prime rib plate looked great but everything was cold... everything. I returned it and they sent back something that was microwaved. I told them I was good and did not eat anything else. I won't go back except for their zucchini and cocktail. You can try something else. The waitress was wonderful, the place is clean with lots of people.

Benson is the gateway to Tombstone and Bisbee. We came to town after a day at the Kartchner Caves. We decided on this restaurant on Route 80, since it's been around for almost 90 years. It must be good right!? And it is. Great lunch menu. We were super happy. Quality food and great servers. Our server Ruby was 5*.

My friend was hungry so we stopped here on our way back to Sierra Vista. I had never been here because I thought it was only a breakfast and lunch spot. I was surprised to see it open at 5:30pm on a Sunday. The place was busy as the Super Bowl was on all the TVs. The Eagles were clobbering the KC Chiefs 7-0. The loud tvs made it very loud. The noise was the only nwgative thing. Our server, Maggie, explained to us that the restaurant has a new owner (for about two years now) and he expanded the hours through dinner. This was a nice move as there isnt much else open in town on a Sunday night. I had a Honey Mustard chicken sandwich with fries and my friend had the Philly Steak and cheese. We both loved our sandwiches. The sauce with the spinach was perfect. The brioche bun the right style bread. We only had water as we had had beer earlier in Tucson. I will be back! When we left the Eagles were ahead 24-0.

I wish I had paid more attention to the fact that they stop serving breakfast at 11:00 am sharp! While driving from Phoenix to El Paso, I spent the night in Benson. I arrived to this coffee and bakery place about 15 minutes past 11 craving some breakfast just to find out that I was a little too late to the party. Instead, I ordered the wrangler burger which I would highly recommend. Such a homey and yummy burger with crispy fries on the side. Perfect pit stop for I-10 drivers! Don't forget to check out their freshly baked pies for some sweet dessert. read more

August 30 and 31st 2023 The Horseshoe Café & Saloon on Benson Arizona. This place is under new management about six weeks ago and is now a gem of a local restaurant. We stopped here in Benson for two nights in our RV and found this place for both dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Everything on the menu is just great! This is what you should expect on a small-town local place. Service for Outstanding, food quality and portions are far above anyplace we have stopped at in years. New Owner/Manager knows how to do it right and I told the new owner last night he is doing it right. The employees who are from previous owner say it is a big change on how it is run and he takes care of his employees. So if you are in the area of Benson AZ it is located a short distance off of I-10 on the south side. Thank you to all the employees and new owner for a great little GEM in Benson. This will continue to be our stop any time we're here overnight. read more

On a road trip, looking for a place to have breakfast. Love the rustic decor and the older local dudes chatting at the counter over breakfast. Very expansive menu. Three full pages of breakfast choices. I opted for ham steak and eggs. They give lots of options for sides, including grits. Portions are significant, and prices are reasonable. This was a spur of the moment decision to eat at this restaurant. We had just finished visiting Tombstone and didn't want to eat there. So this was a convenient place to try. The menu has burgers, sandwiches, wraps and dinners. My husband ordered the country fried chicken and I ordered the burger with bacon and avocado. Both of us had the soup of the day which was a potato and cabbage soup. It was odd but delicious. It reminded me of an Amish soup. My burger was fantastic and hubs dinner was also very good. we went for lunch and wait person recommended the Club sandwich. Smoked turkey on sour dough. it was delicious! we arrived about 6 mins before lunch started so we had a bit of a wait while they switched from breakfast to lunch in kitchen We will return and try the dinner soon! read more

Arrived at 3:45 for lunch they said kitchen had already switched to dinner and we could not get lunch. Rob it was not just the server all the employees were gathered behind the register and the question was asked and they all agreed we could not have lunch. We both had the "Mini Wheel House" breakfast which was plenty and VERY reasonable ($6.75) for 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, toast, and coffee or beverage. Best price we have seen in a long time! Wo you'll highly recommend this cut cafe filled with historic photos of the town and the Wild West! Only disappointment was their military discount (must be in uniform). We were headed to Tucson from Bisbee and noticed this cafe. We sat outside as we had our doggie with us. Our server was never far away. My GF had the fish & chips Friday special while I had an open face beef sandwich. Both were good; the fish crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The coffee was good and we shared a slice of OUTSTANDING coconut cream pie . Hope to have the opportunity to eat in their wild southwest decor dining area next time. read more

Very nice diner, unexpectedly extensive menu. I ordered The Big Dog, an enormous hot dog, wrapped in bacon and smothered in cheese, onions & jalapenos. It was deliciously done and the accompanying onion rings were perfectly cooked, crisp and tasty. My husband had the Bob Cat Burger and also found it delicious. We were well tended by the smiling and attentive Tina. In all, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch in the middle of an 8 hour drive. read more

Stayed in Benson while touring the old west. Chose the Horseshoe over eating in Tombstone and we do not regret this decision! I had the taco salad and hubs had the triple club. We were both delighted with our choices. Topped it off with the Heath pie. Wow! Everything was delicious. Service was wonderful too. Can't wait to return. read more

We went to breakfast this past weekend and it was amazing! Great food and service! You get a pretty big portion and great quality of meat. Waffle was so fluffy and delicious. It is an old building, but very clean. There is only one bathroom stall which made a line, but the food was worth it. read more

I think I just witnessed elder abuse at this restaurant. A male employee was pushing some old dude around and was all up in his face. I don't know what started it, but Horses Shoe just beat up someones grandpa. Seriously bad vibes from this place. read more
