In any case, while traveling to Santa Cruz (about 30 miles away from home) to do some hiking and a Yelp event, we dropped in on this Graniterock store and had a revelatory experience. The staff was super receptive and made sure we got steered in the right area to find what we are looking for. They carry rock, stone, concrete products, brick, masonry stone, and a large variety of other building materials like wallboard. We were particularly interested in boulders this trip and priced a few. When one prices boulders of any size it is important to look at the delivery as well as the price unless you happen to have a multi-ton capacity flatbed and other equipment. Graniterock wins on both points when it comes to price, We found their boulder price to be superior and the selection to be on par with the other places we've looked (e.g. Lyngso, PBM, etc.). For example, delivery to our home 30 miles away is about 30% less than the other places. In particular, we thought the quoting process for this place was the best we've seen. They answered all our questions and gave us a print out to take home. For whatever reason, this is not horrible at other places, but much more of a discussion and process. Super happy with this. We are going to get our next truck full of rock from here! (it will be a truck full too).

Over the years, I've purchased a number of doors from Santa Cruz Millwork. I have always found…read morethem to be very responsive, extremely professional, and painfully honest. The only problem I have ever encountered was the result of a door manufacturer (not Marvin) that could take a few lessons from the millwork. You won't find anyone in the industry that knows more about windows and doors than Tom Nedelski. The Millwork industry is tuff, but Tom rises above them all to provide a pleasant experience for the customer.

Gail (?) and the other one (maybe related?) were just constantly pulling their masks down right in my face to shout out stuff to their employees across the store. When you think degens from upcountry, the boot fits. Their prices aren't great compared to other shops across town and seem to really make their buck off of tech people who buy the super expensive raw refrigerated nonsense for their dogs. Once he was available he refused to assist my wife in picking up the 12 pieces of tile we ordered in spite of assuring us someone would help we loading the tile in our vehicle.
