The Human Bean is wonderful! Not only is this a cute little drive up spot but the people who are work here are fantastic and the drinks are YUMMY! I like how simple their menu is and how they have signature drinks. They even have items for kids too and they call that part Little Beans. I mean, how cute is this?! They do have an app. I just wish they had more locations near me so I can download, use and support this business. Our human beanista learned that it was my first time and multiple people recommended I try the green tea smoothie and a bean because they are so good. Of course I ordered this and oh my, how sweet was the service because she gave us a few beans to sample which I really appreciated. I saw on a menu that you can also order these chocolate covered espresso beans for yourself or a gift. They also have gift cards, coffee by the pound and to go boxes. Theee best coffee in the area hands down, if only it had a cafe! I happily drive out 25 minutes out here for their tasty, high quality espresso drinks which is always paired with quick and friendly service. I didn't catch her name but the girl working window 4/5 afternoon was so personable and recommended me a really great toasted marshmallow mocha drink! I recommend downloading the app beforehand for their points system which rewards well but their best deals are on their local instagram page ($3 mochas on mondays?!) Consistency is great at this location and they give you a cute chocolate covered espresso bean with each coffee! read more

After Grant McCray (SF Giants) stated his favorite coffee was the Pumpkin Cold Brew at The Human Bean I thought to myself "I need to try it!" We drove up and there was no line at all. We hadn't heard of Human Bean before and didn't realize it was a small drive-thru kiosk (we expected a storefront). We had specifically driven to this area to try this new (to us) coffee, so we decided to give it a go - even though we wanted to go inside somewhere to sit down, enjoy our coffee, and chat a bit. We found our beverages to be overly sweet (even worse than Starbucks, which is usually pretty sweet). We surveyed the menu that didn't have any visible pricing. We were able to use a Yelp check in offer to get $1 off. Our drinks were good & enjoyable. Little one liked her frozen hot chocolate. I liked how the iced mocha wasn't very sweet, and that the flavor of espresso wasn't overpowered by the chocolate. The Mexican mocha basically tasted like a mocha with cinnamon versus having a more unique flavor profile. I've always appreciated the complimentary chocolate covered espresso bean! Great coffee and exceptional staff! They really know how to turn a rough day around! So genuinely friendly and kind plus they make great drinks! Even just an Americano was great! Never bitter or stale. It always tastes fresh. I love that they have a variety of plant milks including macadamia nut milk which really makes it nice and creamy! The flavored iced coffee had on my Birthday was perfectly sweetened. Not overly syrupy or chemical aftertaste. Even a perfect drizzle! I've never had a bad experience there before and that's SO rare! I'm so glad I found this hidden gem. It's one of my go to coffee shops and I love how it's only a drive through. Their service is super fast and they have a wide variety of drinks on their main menu as well as seasonal drinks. I love getting their Java Chip Granita which isn't overly sweet and the Java chips blended make the texture perfect. All of their drinks come with a chocolate covered espresso bean which I always look forward to eating. It's a small drive through so the ambiance is for quick, on the go drinks! I have to say that this was quite a treat. They were just off Highway 12 as you come in into Rio Vista and heading east I did have to cross the highway and have to wait for a few vehicles but they have a drive up window that goes on both sides, so it has a long driveway to get there and I can imagine quite the back up as the morning progresses, but it was quite delightful in my interaction with a lovely lady who took my order and she filled my ceramic coffee cup that I brought even from Starbucks, but just delightful in their pricing for their coffee and their breakfast sandwich and the 4 1/2 star rating on Google that I saw is equal Trustworthy and thus I feel they did everything right the breakfast sandwich was great not huge but just what I needed and I'm looking at a glorious sunrise so highly recommend Skip the Starbucks wait the extra 20 minutes from so soon or Fairfield it's worth it. read more

Ok so I now have had the Snickers Granita, Nog Latte and mango smoothie. First thing that jumps out is how under control the sugar level is. The Egg Nog Latte was ultra mild with just hints of Egg Nog, the Snickers was definitely sweeter and the smoothie was perfect. In the category of coffee stands that's quite the feat as they usually are cloyingly sweet. Shout out to ultra popular Dutch Bros who are always at 11 on the sweet side. The mango smoothie didn't quite have a mango taste, but it was truly great. I can't even fully grasp what it was, possibly coconut cream? Either way it's something I will get again. This might be a sticking point with others. This place fits me perfectly. I think it will have something for everyone. Even if you like the mega sweets. Lastly, I enjoy the overall mission statement. Coffee i got was great but the 2 stars was the batista female who helped me was not nice I personally like going to the smaller shops like Human bean bc I want to give them support So on veterans day I saw they were nice enough to offer free drink , I took my kids and wife with me so I could have them spend money there and get some drinks while i ordered my drink I asked the girl if they were still doing a free drink for veterans and she gave me that look like "please not another one" not nice and rude, I thought maybe I was wrong but said something to the wife and she started paying attention and she said the samething. Never had a bad drink there over the years but customer service goes a long way and I would rather not deal with people like her. I really wanted to like this place. It's a small, kinda local coffee shop, and I usually try to support small businesses but this was one of the worst coffee experiences I've ever had!!! First off, I needed a little pick me up for lunch but the coffee tasted like it had been sitting on a hot plate since yesterday. Burnt, bitter, and somehow both watery and sludgy at the same time. I ordered a mocha and what I got was a sad, lukewarm mess with a strange aftertaste I still can't quite place (dish soap?). Just walk or drive right up and get some coffee. Not only do they have regular espresso/coffee, they have specialty drinks and smoothie type drinks. Pretty much every time we have gone to this place we have parked and walked up to the window. The staff have always been friendly and provided great service, along with great recommendations on drinks. The first time I tried something here, I was pleasantly surprised. Love their cappuccino. I always go either at the Citrus Heights location or the rocklin location and the staff always has a smile on their face. It's a quick turn around and the drive thru is super easy for everyone that has kids. Coffee is not bitter or too cold like in a lot of other coffee places. Definitely my go to. Wow wow wow! What a cute little spot. It caters to the drive thru (2 sides) and there's an order window too. I want to say their menu is extensive for all ages. There's coffee, frozen drinks, drinks with Red Bull and more. I ordered hot oat milk chai from their "staff favorites" menu and it was heaven in my lips. I don't know if it's because my taste buds weren't accustomed this place or what, but it was so delicious. I wish I made another visit while I was in town so I can try their other goodies. read more

My partner and I love trying out smaller businesses to show support but this one is not one I find myself going to again. Their menu is super hard to read while you're waiting in line, so we had no idea what we wanted. When the girl asked what we wanted, my partner said he didn't know, and he was going to ask what she recommended but she decided to turn away like she was annoyed with him, until she heard him ask what she recommended. Anyways, he ordered an eggnog latte which tastes extremely watered down. I'm not sure how a latte is watered down since it's literally espresso and milk. We also ordered two extra shots in it. Today 11/22 was my 10th time trying The Human Bean and finally leaving a review. Here's my honest opinion. Pretty much it's the same concept as Dutch Bros with 2 drive through lanes and a walk up to window. Service is always quick. The music is not as loud as DB's which is a plus Lol... and workers are not hyped. I tried about 4 different drinks and I liked every single one. One thing that they can work on is for the workers being more friendly and suggestive in regards to the drinks. If I could give no stars I would. The barista was very rude from the beginning. We asked for a drink that we have been getting since this location opened and she looked at us as if we just named an off the wall drink. She told us to tell her what is in the drink in order for her to make it. Why should the customer know the ingredients in the drink? The barista should know. She then proceeded to say "it's like when the kids go to Starbucks and say I want the tik tok drink." This situation is completely different than us ordering a drink that has been at human bean since they opened. Not a great way to talk to your customers either. This wasn't the first horrible interaction with this barista. Following this she overcharged us and was disrespectful when we asked for the price to be adjusted. This used to be our go to coffee shop but lately it has been a disaster. It is overpriced and the baristas want you to tell them how to make their drinks. My shots were dead which made my drink very bitter. There's just no reason to use dead shots when you're not even busy.
