We just got two Boba drinks at Bubble University Rocklin. When they first opened they were excellent quality and every order was always correct. I started ordering Thai Tea with Vanilla Ice Cream without Boba. It was a nice occasional treat. The computerized ordering system seemed foolproof. Well, fast forward until today. BOTH of drinks looked correct after receiving them BUT they were BOTH WRONG. How does this happen with a computerized order system? Mine had boba that I didnt want and NO Vanilla Ice Cream. This is my go-to boba spot in Rocklin and it has never disappointed! Located in a big shopping plaza the parking is very easy and there is some seats outside and some inside but not very many. I've only ordered at the kiosk so I'm not sure if you are able to walk up. I love the taro milk tea here and it pairs super well with the sea salt cream! All their milk teas are 10/10 I also love the brown sugar milk tea. I tried the mango green tea today and if you're a fan of mango it's a must try and I loved it with the mango popping boba. The service is pretty limited since we always order at the kiosk. Yummy drinks and Snacks! [Rocklin CA] Been here a few times now since my last review of almost 1-1/2 years ago. They offer customizable options for sweetness, ice, milk, and boba types. My favorite are the fruit drinks. The golden boba has that sweet honey molasses taste and always good consistency. The staff is friendly and efficient. Bubble U have started using organic ingredients which is a good thing and a more healthy option. There will still be non-dairy options like oat milk and almond milk that are lactose intolerant for those who don't drink milk. I think this may end up being my favorite boba tea restaurant in the area, but I should go a few more times. Bubble University is located in the Safeway plaza on the corner of Sunset Blvd and Park Dr in Rocklin. Easy parking. Restaurant closes relatively early at 7 pm according Yelp hours edited in 10/2022 (or 7:30 pm according to my 7/2022 photo and Google). I went near closing time, so the restaurant was out of black pearl boba. I ordered Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Golden Boba, which was delicious. I could taste the tea flavor. The pretty yellow-colored boba was yummy and chewy. I think I ordered 50% sweetness. Here are the boba descriptions: - Golden Boba: Chewier, Bigger, and Black Sugar Flavored - Pearl Boba: Medium Sized and Honey Flavored Drink comes in a cup and a lid made of a sturdier, thicker plastic. I poked the straw into the lid, which caused a piece of plastic to go into the cup. I would recommend pulling off the straw opening by hand, instead of poking it inside the cup. I did compare the size of the straw opening plastic piece and the straw. The straw opening plastic piece is bigger in width than the straw, so I don't think you can slurp hard enough to force and bend the thick plastic piece into the straw. However, just to err on the side of caution, I'd take the time to pull it off and throw it away. Because the straw opening plastic piece is roundish in shape, it is easily mistaken as the shadow of a boba. For the future, I'd be interested in trying these drinks: - Iron Goddess Oolong - Matcha Milk Tea - Taro Milk Tea - Brown Sugar Milk Tea - Honey Milk Tea - Burn Burn Tea Latte - Taro Smoothie - Coconut Pineapple Smoothie - Strawberry Matcha - Taro Blush I'm happy that the bubble tea restaurant that I'm most impressed with is closest in distance to me. I've been craving boba lately and decided to try the closest shop. My first visit was about a week ago; I ordered the Thai milk boba. It was okay but had a slightly chemical taste. Yesterday, I walked in again, and since I was the only customer, I thought ordering would be easy. However, the cashier insisted I use the self-kiosk to place my order. I just wanted a regular Thai milk boba and asked if he could take my order directly, but he refused. After struggling with the kiosk, I finally placed my order. My favorite is the burn burn tea - only 25% sugar, regular ice, and add topping like brown sugar crystal boba or honey boba. Bubble University is now in Rocklin! We had visited the Roseville location (on Sunrise) but found it to be a little farther for us. So when we were getting groceries today at Safeway, we were surprised to see their sign where Rita's Italian Ice and Custard used to be. Looked on Yelp and found that their soft opening date was yesterday (Sat, 3/27). Their current open hours are 12pm-7pm. Great location with plenty of parking. I love how orders are put in solely by customers on a kiosk to the side instead of having to stand in line and dictate your drink to an employee. This way I can take my time browsing their menu and can customize it according to my preferences (adding toppings, adjusting sweetness levels, etc). (Of course, I'd try to speed up my order if I noticed others waiting behind me to place an order though.) My husband tried a strawberry smoothie at 25% sweetness level and to me, it tasted like strawberry water but he didn't seem to mind, since he's trying to drink less sugar. I tried the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba at 50% sweetness and loved it, though it was still fairly sweet. It was very convenient to receive a text message after placing an order, during the order process and also a message stating that my order was ready, especially since they're only allowing 3 customers inside the building at a time. So this way you'll know when to pick up your drink. The owner Polly was great too, telling us of their 20% promotion during their Grand Opening time. So glad that they finally opened one up near me in Rocklin. This location had a soft open the day before and I was so surprised to see one open up here. I noticed it as we were going shopping at Safeway. This is a great location for me as I can buy groceries and get a delicious drink after a tiring time of shopping. There's plenty of parking here and they are open 7 days a week from 12 noon to 7 PM. Once you walk in the store, you are directed to a kiosk where you place your order and pay. It is completely touchless as they do not accept cash at this time. There is a QR code on the window that takes you to their website to order ahead for pickup. Polly greeted us with a smile as we walked in the door and she would answer any questions that we may have. It was as simple as scrolling through the menu, adding optional items, checking on various other options including levels of sweetness and type of dairy or non-dairy options, and then checking out and paying with a card or Apple Pay and Android Pay. Polly was quick in preparing our order and we were on our way, lickety -split. I ordered the strawberry smoothie and my wife got a brown sugar milk tea boba. We had 2 brown suger organic milk tea and the Lychee slushy. Lychee slushy was doable but the brown suger was basically ALL milk and some brown suger, No tea taste at all. Such a basic drink that shouldn't failed but went to the garbage right away! Thank God I live in an area with full of great boba joint so will never have to encounter this place again! Bubble University opened in Rocklin and it definitely has potential. Our first visit was not the best, but the drinks were still really good. We came on a Friday evening, near closing, but there was still a line to order so we waited outside until it was our turn. We ordered through the kiosk inside the shop, however, the male worker informed us that they were out of boba due to the boba shortage. I asked him what they have as a replacement and he suggested the agar boba. Then I asked him if he would substitute the brown sugar boba with the agar boba and he said okay. We order the Brown Sugar Boba Milk with no ice and the Lavender Milk Tea. Prior to paying at the kiosk, he provided us the wrong discount code about 3 or 4 times before he went to ask his boss what the correct code was, which caused a lot of frustration for us during the ordering process. We went outside to wait for our order. When we went to the counter to pick up our order, I realized my drink had ice and there was no boba in my drink. I told the worker of the mistake and he said I didn't write in the comments section when ordering at the kiosk that I wanted to substitute the agar boba. I told him we verbally confirmed with him the substitution, and he even admitted that he knew I wanted to add agar boba, but didn't add it because we didn't type it out. That was really strange because we verbally discussed it and he knew I wanted to add it, but didn't. He remade my drink and it was made correctly the second time. At this point, my rating of this new boba shop would have been a two or three at most. Having to drive over 30 minutes out of my way to come here only to have the shop run out of boba, unknowledgeable employee providing wrong information creating a frustrating ordering process, receiving an incorrectly made drink after verbally confirming how I wanted my drink made, and just a rather long wait for the drinks to be made. It was a bit frustrating. Despite the frustrations, the drinks were really tasty. The brown sugar boba milk (except no brown sugar boba, substituted with agar) was sweet and delicious. This drink has no caffeine and it was very tasty even with agar boba. The lavender milk tea had lots of lavender flavor and it tasted outstanding. Both drinks were really good in flavor. Even though there were a few hiccups during our first time at this new location of Bubble University, the drinks were really good. Bubble University closes at 7:00pm, which is really early, especially for a Friday night. Hopefully, they will open later in the future. I was really impressed with the flavor of their drinks and hope to make it here again in the future, hopefully when they have boba and before they close. read more

I actually like this new location a little better than the other one on Sunrise Blvd. It's much more modern, with an attractive interior and nicely decorated on the inside. Upon walking inside, the vibe and lighting is perfect. To the left there's a screen where you can order your drink and it can be custom made to your liking. The menu is just as extensive as the other location.... with tons of choices. My experience with the cashier and the other worker were great! No complaints at all. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Despite all the specialty drinks on the menu, I played it safe and ordered a Thai milk tea with boba. The drink came out fairly quickly and tasted pretty good. It had the right amount of sweetness 75% and I could taste the great flavor my drink was made out of. The boba was cooked well - had good flavor and a good amount of chewiness. Everything was a little on the sweeter side - I got mine at 50% sweetness and could've maybe even gone down to 25% but I normally like things less sweet to begin with. I ended up ordering the Lavender Milk Tea at 75% sweet as Bubble University's drinks tend to be less sweet compared to competition. Sadly, it was still a bit too sweet for me, so I ended up giving it to my mom. I didn't want to be that person to ask them to remake as they didn't do anything wrong, but it was a bummer.
