Great environment with a nice menu that changes seasonally. I made reservation for a party of four and the staff accommodated my preference of table. They staff was very welcoming, professional, and happy to be there. The food: great flatbread. My wife had a soy glazed salmon which tasted great. I had the pork chop along with my buddy. Very good flavor but mine could have been cooked a little less. My friend's was cooked perfectly. My second visit to this gem. I stopped by a few months ago while trekking through Summit and simply loved it. Today o tried the Cubano Grilled sandwich and it was perfect. The Angry Shrimp spring rolls were tops too! Even the house made chips were light and crispy! I didn't pace myself and as result, ate the whole sandwich, so no reviews of desserts on this write-up. This has become one of our favorite spots when I need to drop my husband at Newark Int'l as it's a quick easy drive. We started with cocktails - I ordered the blueberry bourbon smash and hubs had a rye old fashioned - both were perfectly balanced. I'm usually hesitant to order a cocktail off the menu as some can be on the sweeter side but the smash was a perfect blend of lovely flavor with the perfect light sweet and mild tartness. We split the tuna tartare - excellent taste and texture. I ordered the scallops (love a pea puree) and he had the short rib (those grits!) and we enjoyed both and had bites of each. We have not been at Huntley Taverne for around 2 years, and decided to visit it this Sunday, but what a disappointment. The food quality went down significantly. We ordered cocktails soups, flat bread, hamburgers, salad, crab cake, etc. The only good option was clam chowder, the rest of the food was mediocre. And what happened to their famous burgers and fries?- not at all what it used to be. The service and ambiance were good. Unfortunately, not planning to visit again, due to food. read more

We had a small celebration in a private room. Thomas was great. Everything we had was delicious . The filet mignon was cooked to perfection for all who had them. The appetizers were all delicious. Everyone in our party was raving about the delicious food. The specialty drinks were outstanding. They have a great wine list. They were especially attentive because I mentioned an aged cheese allergy and they told me which dishes and appetizers. I should avoid eating. They also made sure there was no feta cheese on my asparagus that came with the filet mignon. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

While the cocktails and bar area remain a nice place for a quick drink, our last dining experience was simply horrific. We checked in with the host and checked - not once but THREE times that we secured a porch table as requested. Once our friends arrived they wanted to grab a quick cocktail at the bar and we once again checked that our porch table was still secure. As we were getting seated - we were walked upstairs - NOT THE PORCH - to a freezing cold table with horrific high lighting. The timing of the food was very poorly executed to the point that the server had to place entrees next to my husband on the booth seat to maneuver the apps plates. What?!?! How rude and gross. The food was over-salted and "meh" at best. I've never seen this place miss everything so terribly. Overall - we couldn't wait to get out of there. It is now simply a cocktail place for us as a last resort to other places. You've lost us entirely. read more

We have now been here three times, and it has been delicious each time we have come. For our most recent trip, we came for dinner on New Year's Eve. We started with the truffle mac & cheese. For my entree, I got the pomegranate braised short rib and my wife got the sweet potato crusted halibut. Both were delicious and flavorful. No complaints and can't wait to come back again. This place is down the street from where I live and I just realized I never yelped. I don't come often because it's pricey for me, but I definitely recommend trying out this spot. Our server was Sky and they were very nice and very attentive. Food is always delicious. I put descriptions in the pictures. We went for summit restaurant wreek. It was a last minute reservation so when we got there for dinner, our server said that the special menu was only for lunch THAT day. So i asked kindly if they could double check with someone because we made reservations specifically for this dinner menu. Our server came back with the special menu so that made me happy haha. My chicken was so juicy and omg the corn grits was amazing!!! It's a must try! My co worker ate half of her burger and said she was full, but then next thing you know her burger was gone hahaha. I guess it was too good. And the meat was thick! Oh! And our drinks were amazing! Mine had a pear puree and my friends bourbon drink had a peach puree and omg so delicious. I was kind of bummed they sat us on the outer part of building where there only just fans. It was way too hot and i feel they could have left the doors open to leak out some air conditioning. It was a bit uncomfortable. I don't like sweating and eating. Desserts were good, my friend wished her bread pudding was on the warmer side but she still liked it. This might sound petty but my only reason for 4 star and not 5 is because I had left over chicken and grits I wanted to take home to my husband. I tried soo hard not to eat the grits on my plate haha. My server offered to wrap it up. When they came back, it was only the chicken and no grits. I was pretty disappointed because there was a good amount to package up and I paid for that. So maybe I'll package up my own food next time. I have heard rave reviews about this quaint little place. Huntley Taverne,I finally had the chance to give it a try. I wasn't impressed & honestly not sure why all the hype? I had the lobster roll which had no flavor at all, way too much celery & not enough lobster, I was surprised to find the lobster was chopped in small pieces instead of what I thought would be chunks, I even asked the waiter if the roll had a generous amount of lobster, she reassured that it would be full! The roll had no buttery taste at all it was so bland. It said the chips were seasoned w/old bay, they were not. However, the chips were still amazing. My boyfriend had the Cuban which was supposed to have some type of mayo spread it had nothing not even mustard, he also said the pork was tough. All & all it was not a great experience & I was disappointed. The cocktail menu was fantastic. I had the puréed pear ginger martini, it was a 10 out of 10 I would not recommend the food but would be nice to have a drink & an appetizer. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

I always have an outstanding meal and time when I visit. I usually come a couple times a year, and recently went for my anniversary. The staff is so thoughtful and made us a beautiful card along with champagne. The ambiance is dark, intimate, and welcoming. I've never had a bad meal here. What we ordered: Creamy Burrata -YUM so fresh!! The pesto had a great taste and paired really well. Edamame Dumplings-AMAZING, I sometimes still think about these dumplings and want to come back just for them. They're incredibly light. Thyme Roasted Filet Mignon- Cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the ratatouille & roasted garlic mashed potatoes but didn't know they were made together. Fall dinner menu is a bit disappointing. Throw some sweet potatoes and squash on the side of a plate and call it Fall focused, but ultimately the sides were disappointing. However, the filet I ordered was cooked to perfection and mouthwateringly tender. My wife ordered the Fried chicken salad which was okay and honestly nothing to recommend. This restaurant is very expensive and easily over 100 dollars including drinks, but I'm still not confident the finished product compliments the prices here. The brunch/lunch menu is a bit more appealing both entrée and cost wise so I might recommend mid-day if you want to enjoy a meal. The Huntley Taverne has a beautiful interior - dark woods, lots of lighting and I think the pictures of the decor is really what drew me in. The Taverne also has it's own parking lot which is a huge plus in my book. After a long morning of wedding prepping my fiancé and I stopped by the Huntley Taverne for some brunch. I had the Brioche French Toast which was really soggy for my taste and came with a side of whipped cream that looked it it was ice cream, now envision how large it was (was I slightly disappointed it wasn't Vanilla Ice Cream? Yes). My fiancé had the Farmers Omelette which he complained had no flavor, It's filled with chopped broccoli and a three cheese blend so you think he would be able to taste something, but instead ended up loading it with salt and pepper. We had a really good time at the Huntley Taverne, but the food essentially wasn't up to par. I won't come back to eat, but I'll certainly be back to try some of their mixed cocktails which are updated seasonally. read more

A great spot for lunch with your girlfriends or a relaxing date night with your hubby! I feel like their lunch menu is superior to their dinner menu. Service is outstanding, the ambience is great and food is pretty good too. We tried their tomato bisque this time which was excellent and their Huntley burgers with fries and angry shrimp rolls for appetizers - everything came out swiftly we tried their burnt cheese cake which left a lot to be desired. Bread pudding would have been a better choice perhaps. Washed everything down with Arnold palmers. However, just a tiny suggestion - Each table has these small tea lights burning away for hours and the glass around it gets very hot that's a HUGE fire hazard! I would opt for led candles/tea lights for safety purposes. An over all good experience! read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was pretty packed & we didn't have a rsvp but they were able accommodate us after about a 45 min wait. The server took a long time to get to us but once he cane he was friendly. For starts we got the angry shrimp rolls which was good. Drinks we had rosy cheeks & the passion fruit drink both were good too. For meal I got the founder francais which taste nice, flavorful & light. A but more lemon flavor than I'd prefer but good overall. He got the ribeye which he said was just ok. For dessert we got the bread pudding which was so delicious. Overall great experience read more

Absolutely terrible experience with food and service. Our waiter overslept her shift and they refused to take our food order until she arrived (35 minutes after we arrived). The food then took exactly 47 minutes to arrive although there was almost no one else there! When the food came out, it was lukewarm and was definitely not worth it. The waitress then cleared our table and didn't come back with a check for 15 minutes. Do not recommend this place at all! read more

Recommend the calamari salad and crab cake for appetizers and for entree I enjoyed the scallops and hubs devoured the pork chop. Usually when I go to nice restaurants I tend to order seafood and Huntley executed all the seafood dishes perfectly. For holiday brunch with friends, I needed a cozy, inviting spot that looks like they will let us chat for more than an hour. There are several seating rooms. We were in the covered deck which was slightly chilly in December but it was fine once I had a tea and a hot toddy in me. The waiter was most gracious attending to our party with every arriving guest and dealt with our indecisiveness about dessert. The majority of us ordered the soup, salad, slider combo. We were impressed with the fixings topped onto the perfectly sized slider. The clam chowder and squash soup were deliciously cozy. My husband and I checked this place out for an early birthday dinner a few months ago. First, cool rustic decor with a nice big bar area and a couple of cute cozy dining areas. As it's owned by the same company as Addams Tavern, etc. - it has a nice array of small plates, large palates, and yummy cocktails to choose from! We decided to split the crab cakes ($14.95) and the spinach dip fritters ($12.95) - the second recommended by our waiter. The crab cakes were soft and flakey and had good flavor but are the type of standard upscale crab cake you usually get. BUT THE FRITTERS were AMAZING! Great flavor and crunch - could have just eaten this for my mains! We got the pan seared salmon for $27.95 which we split alongside a side of the truffles Mac n Cheese for $8.95z They were kind and pre split our meals before we were served which I really appreciate. The salmon was well cooked and was a good choice. The Mac n cheese was all creamy types of delicious which I'm always a fan of. We did get a desert which was a sundae of sorts and was huge but sort of bland. Waitstaff was attentive throughout and did sing happy birthday to me which is always super nice!! Had a business lunch there today. Six people. Service a bit slow. Food was good but three orders came out wrong. My sirloin tip wrap lacked the aioli spread. One Vermont burger, requested without onions had them on it. One well done CHEESE burger came out without the cheese. Most didn't complain as it was a business lunch. We stopped at the Huntley Tavern at almost 10pm and the manager welcomed us with opened arms. He was more than accommodating and did not rush us.
