Went Saturday evening. Wanted something a little different and this place looked cool. I'm Mexican and I like Mexican food. I saw online that they had Mexican poutine so I figured that's quirky enough and it sounded good so that's what I got. Go in, decor is really cool. I love the art! The place isn't really busy which is odd for a Saturday night in FS. I'm by myself because my gf is across the street at the Italian place with her friends for a girl's birthday night out. She hates driving at night so she asked me to take her... I sit at a tiny table with two chairs. Waiter, who is very nice, comes and asks if I want a drink and salsa and chips. I said water to drink for now while I decide. Placed my food order. She comes back with a tiny cup of room temp tap water with no ice. Um, ok? Strange. My food comes out pretty quickly brought to my table by the bartender. Mexican poutine is hot and cheesy with raw jalapenos. Ordered a Modelo which is always great. The fries are good and crispy. It's more just nachos with fries instead of tortilla chips than poutine, but nits to pick. You get a lot for the $8 or whatever it was. Overall it was pretty mid. I wished I'd ordered their big basket of fries instead. Their tacos didn't really sound like a good deal or very interesting to me then. My server brought over a carrier of hot sauce, explained each one and then said they have this white hot sauce named after a euphemism for ejaculation. She said it was her favorite and went to get it. It was OK. Towards the bottom of my poutine there were a lot of refried beans and guac making the remaining fries a soggy mess. The first half of the poutine was decent, last half was pretty meh. If you go to a Mexican spot and you see no Mexicans working or eating and they don't automatically bring out FREE chips and salsa, you're probably not in for the best Mexican food experience. Finally got to try Revolucion after hearing about this place for years. I was the first person in my party to arrive. I decided to sit at the bar. I was so shocked by how cheap the drinks were especially the house margarita. It was only $6. So that was a huge plus right there. I also ordered some chips and salsa. The chips were warm and crispy. They were delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I ordered the shrimp tacos. They were good. I was so impressed with how affordable this place was. Poor service. Food is not bad, but for $5 a taco it should be impressive to say the least. Came in for a quick bite 20 minutes before close and you could tell immediately that we were not welcomed. The server told us we had 2 minutes to order because the kitchen was about to close. However, there was no kind greeting, no introduction, no asking us if we had been there before. Nothing. Short-haired white woman who chose to work that shift did not care for us. Overall, you'd be better off going to Loco or even a food truck. read more

We came here for Cinco de Mayo this year. Great choice for this fun holiday! This cantina is split into three sections. When you walk in, you enter the front bar where the walls are decked out in Day of the Dead decorations. Next, you enter a tiki bar, a semi-outdoor bar space with a surf-inspired theme. The back section is the patio with both high top and low top tables. The high tops have colorful umbrellas, good for shielding you from the glaring sun. It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit on the patio, which was filling up quickly just 15 minutes into opening. We started off with a pitcher of margaritas. They're fresh and not too sweet, especially with a salted rim. They go down so easy! For food, we had the chips and guac. It's not often I like restaurant guacamole, but this was pretty good. Once we finished off our pitcher, we each had a Spicy Margarita. The habanero tequila adds a hint of heat. Just enough so you know it's there. Absolutely delicious! At this point, we went ahead and got some chips and queso. Yum! Our server was fantastic! She was SO friendly and had the BEST attitude. She was also super attentive. Food was Ok. Beer selection was ok. The chips & salsa was amazing. The inside has a lot of really nice decorations! And the service was really good. The tacos de papa had over-boiled potatoes. I wish the were much crispier. They almost turned into mashed potatoes while I was eating. They had a lot of Mexican beer on tap, but I was hoping they would have had more. Cool atmosphere and excellent service! Stopped in here for dinner before a show at White Rabbit next door and ordered chips, queso, a strawberry margarita and two tacos. The chips were nice and hot and it's hard to mess up queso. Delicious margaritas - I had a house margarita with strawberry and it was $6. That's a pretty great price point. Tacos were just ok - the pork was cooked great and the portion size generous, there just wasn't any cheese or cilantro to go on top and I felt like it needed more than the pineapple salsa that cane with it. Would visit again in the summer to see the tiki patio and have some drinks/appetizers and try something new. read more

I LOVE the atmosphere in here! The decorations are on point, the staff are all helpful and kind, and the warm glow of the lights definitely made me want to cozy up and stay for hours! I ordered the Melisandre for me drink and it was delicious! The menu description didn't mention the flame, which was an exciting added tough. The drink was also refreshing and they definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol. It was strong but was in no way overpowered by the alcohol. I ordered the Kalua Pork tacos and will say, they were generous with the amount of pork in there! Just a bit too salty for my taste and could've used some type of sauce to add to it to balance the amount of salt and pork. The price range was perfect. My friend ordered a burrito and it was massive! Definitely enough for three people (with medium sized appetites). I want to come here again to try other drinks on the menu. What a great spot! It was my turn to pick a location for our day date and I chose here to start. The drinks here are AMAZING and worth coming on it's own! I don't think my pictures are going to do them justice! Both of our drinks came on fire! And they tasted amazing! Like I said I'll be back here for the drinks alone! I had the Melisandre and it is divine! I didn't realize how much I liked Mezcal until drinking the Melisandre. It had a light sweetness to it, but the smokiness from the Mezcal balances it out perfectly. The outside sitting area is cute and cozy! Whether you come for a date night, a night with the girls, or by yourself; you'll be comfortable and fit right in! Unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the food. It was decent just not memorable. If you're in the downtown area (maybe even closer to Fountain Square I'm not sure) stop at this tiki bar and have a drink.....or two. read more

This is probably one of our favorite spots. Have been here many times. This is such a fun and unique spot. Out favorite time to come is in the spring/summer time when it is warm because the back patio is open. The vibes throughout the building are immaculate but especially out back. My favorite drink is missionary's downfall. It is a frozen drink which I don't usually go for, but it has such a unique flavor. I always get this when I am there. I have never had a bad drink there. We have grabbed a bite to eat here once and their burritos smashed! They were huge and very flavorful. This is kind of our default bar to go to when we want to stay close to home. read more

I am SO happy a friend showed me this place- it is so fun! I went to the Tiki Bar twice this week because I enjoyed it so much and had to bring my boyfriend back. The tiki bar is located in the back of Revolucion- you have to walk through the restaurant and go through some double doors. It feels like you are walking into a whole different world! Like you are Lucy walking through the wardrobe intot Narnia, but instead you find yourself on an island in a tiki room. Warm lights, tiki torches, masks, and swamp monsters await through the doors. Frozen cocktails, fun garnishes, and cocktails on fire! Good food and fun vibes. Such a perfect place to come for a date or a girls night (I've done both now). I started off with a painkiller, which came in a very cute pineapple glass and my friend got the lava flow. My second drink was a daquiri, which was also very good, but obviously not as tropical as the painkiller. We got some chips and salsa for the table which was perfect. The second time I came back we got the Scorpion Bowl, which is a cocktail bowl for 2-4 people that comes out to your table on fire! Very cool. My boyfriend and I split the scorpion bowl and were a little worried about how big it was going to be since it says 2-4 people, but we found that it ended up being about 2 drinks each, so if you had 4 people it would be about 1 drink each. At $25, that's a pretty good deal since the tropical cocktails are around $10-$12 each. We got the Patatas Bravas as a side, which was great since we don't see those around in Indy very often. They were pretty good! The waitstaff was always very kind and attentive. They were paying attention to the weather when we sat outside and offered to move us inside when it was about to rain. Hadn't been here in a while. Decided to check it out again with a friend. To say that the tiki area is phenomenal is an understatement. The heated lamps were amazing! Service was spectacular as was the food. And our drinks were just as great! The tiki area has a much more chill vibe and laid back. It's a smaller are and once it started to get busy it felt crowded walking by the bar but it was cool. What a great unassuming spot for an evening out! I apologize ahead of time for my photos.. When you walk in, it seems to be more like a luchador mexican style theme, less like a tiki bar. When you go out the back doors, there's an entire patio with plenty of picnic tables, and couches. The decor out there is also tiki themed and really cute. I usually don't expect the food at tiki bars to be great, but was pleasantly surprised! They are filled with meat so they are a good portion for the price. We tried the fish and pork tacos and enjoyed the pork tacos the best. I wouldn't call it al pastor, the texture was more like carnitas with perhaps a sweeter al pastor flavor. The white fish was a bit bland, but the fixings they came with like fruit salsa for the fish tacos and onion and cilantro for the al pastor was good. We asked for limes, so having them come with the tacos would be a plus! The drinks were great, I loved the missionary's downfall, it tasted like a minty fresh and sweet smoothie. I took it down pretty fast because it hid the alcohol so well! The Saturn was a more sour, and did not taste much of passion fruit, but still tasted very tropical. They have a fair amount of drink options at a fair price so I would definitely want to come back for the food, drinks, and atmosphere! read more

Revolución was my chosen birthday destination to celebrate with friends this year. So we grabbed our Hawaiian shirts and headed out! The causal come-and-go atmosphere made this great for people to pop in as they got off work. Our waitress was top-notch and very caring for all of us. Their back patio is spacious and great for large groups, but the theming had people reminiscing about their times the last time they went somewhere tropical! In addition to the drinks pictured we tried some steak tacos, chips, and salsa, but the winner of the night was the Mexican Poutine with the house-made Pink Sauce. This dish delivered a great fusion take and if you ordered it, I suggest the Kalua Pork. For drinks, I suggest working your way through their tropical drinks and go for a variety. It might be just me, but if it's got orgeat in it that means it's got the tropical vibe I am looking for. read more

We ordered chips and queso which were very yummy. Then ordered our dinner. An order of chicken tacos witu verde sauce, beef tacos with pico, and pork with mango salsa. If you want to feel like you're on a beach vacation while in Indy, this is your SPOT. I've walked in here before, but it wasn't until my second visit that I realized there's a hallway that leads into what I'd describe as a tropical speakeasy. Super cool. Our group all got beach drinks (caipirinhas and colorful frozen margs with umbrellas) and relaxed under the dim, colorful twinkle lights. I also spied a great back patio and am excited for it to be warm soon so we can come back for that. Such fun vibes! We went before an early-ish concert at the Hi-Fi. The tiki bar was so perfect for grabbing a quick drink and a small bite before the show. I got a gin-based drink, the Saturn, which was sooo good and not sweet at all. Loved it. We ordered the bean dip as an app, which was pretty good. I got the potato tacos - there are 2 per order and they're pretty full of potatoes and toppings. They were good, but they don't hold a candle to my beloved spicy potato soft taco from Taco Bell (sorry!). My husband got steak tacos and we both thought the meat was so flavorful and tender. The Mezcal marg is not too sweet and I appreciate that as I am not a fan of sweet cocktails. The nachos are my favorite nachos in Indy. Get it with meat and everything added on them. Tiki Bars are a blast, especially Revolucion Indy. This spot is in fountain square and their patio is sick! They have a wide range of summer/tiki drinks and I'm here for it. Their caipiriñas, palomas, and margs we're awesome for a hot summer night. They were boozy and delicious . Their food was tasty and filling. We ordered the spicy patatas bravas and they queso and they hit the spot. We also had the lardie laddie burger as well as the kalua pork burrito and enjoyed them! Stopped in tonight for dinner and drinks with an old friend. Outdoor and indoor seating are both offered. Apparently, there's a feral cat program somewhere in the city? Either way, we enjoyed dinner with a furry friend. I had the shrimp tacos -- delicious! A bit of a kick, but not overpowering. The meal comes with two tacos. For the price, a third might be justified; at the very least, chips included in the basket. We had to order chips and queso on the side. The meal feels slightly incomplete without chips. That would be the only recommendation I have for the restaurant, but I recognize the potential they have to make money by not pairing items together. My friend's pork tacos were of equal caliber once paired with hot sauce. The chips and queso were delicious! The queso didn't taste store-bought, which was nice. The chips also had a homemade feel to them. They were lightly salted (preferred) and had a hint of lime. We eventually moved inside. The atmosphere is a little more quiet there; Low lighting, quiet music. It's perfect for a Wednesday night catch-up! I called to place a pick up order (a couple Saturday''s ago) 10:40pm they close at 1am and the girl checked to make sure it was ok to still order..so I'm guessing they stop taking orders at midnight?! I ordered the Kailua Pork Tacos as she highly suggested these over me asking her what her thoughts were on the Pork or Chicken Tacos.. I asked for pick de gallo and chips..She told me they don't serve Pico De Gallo even though I told her I saw it listed on the menu and served on other items, that they had a different salsa..Unfortunately when I picked up and tipped $5 & some change... I arrived home and had no salsa with my chips and no cheese on the tacos I then wished I would of order one of the others since they had cilantro and onions etc. I called and left a voicemail hopefully will receive a call back.. The tacos were definitely SALTY with no toppings or cheese also they were very soggy literally no crisp at all but the pork was good and the tiny little fruit salsa served with it was amazing! Definitely very friendly and nice atmosphere just unfortunately not what I paid for and upsetting to pay $21 for two soggy tacos with no toppings and no salsa with the chips! (Came back and they never returned my call just posting.. everything I wrote was immediately after eating except for what is in parentheses..
