Mistake number one on my part, I paid in full to have job start on a specific day. When the day came no call no show. I called Chris and he apperently double booked and offered $500 dollars off and pushed it back 2 additional weeks. When that day came he called with yet again another excuse and pushed it back again. His crew only came on Saturdays which was frustrating because he had the upper hand and all the money already. I kept asking him about my $500 and he always had excuse why he couldn't pay even know he kept saying next week, next week. 10 months later he won't even respond or call back. He just assumed I would forget about it. Unprofessional and lies continuesly, so disappointed with the job and how I was treated. read more

Never got what we paid for. Do NOT pay up front. Crew came late in unmarked truck. Unskilled and unsupervised they installed the radiant barrier over all the vents. Owner had to come and identify the vents and cut openings after the fact. Paid for both batting and blown in insulation. Work order was wrong and we only got blown in insulation which only came half way up the wall. Could never get him back out to correct the situation. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Broke a water pipe in my house. Which is fine stuff happens. But never came back to fix anything. Left holes in my wall never fixed my wood floors. Said he would pay me back never did. Have tons of texts saying he would but never did. You are fool if you use Chris!!!! read more

Updated 11/18/20 following several visits by the owner (Chris) to correct some remaining issues. I hired The Insulation Guru to install radiant barriers in my main attic and garage attic, plus supplement missing insulation in various places, add an airhawk vent, foam seal openings into the home, and add an attic access tent. Chris, the owner, inspected my attic prior to providing an estimate and showed me a binder full of pictures of completed jobs, promising significantly lower temperatures in the attic and a solution to my warm temperature issues in the middle of the summer. He also insisted that he gets involved in jobs, and said he would personally come to my house to inspect and take temperature readings once the job was completed. It took several visits over about 2.5 months to complete all agreed-to tasks. Chris and I had several phone conversations to clear up some of my concerns following poor quality of work by some of his contractors, and needed to reschedule visits a few times due to availability on his part. Eventually, all tasks were completed with Chris coming by several times to ensure all work was completed to his standards. Chris also installed thermal barrier on my garage door free of charge and provided a rebate as an apology for the delays and inconvenience. read more

The Insulation Guru came out and did an excellent job on insulating my 1977 house. the team showed up early on a Saturday morning and worked HARD on prepping the attic, even in the summer heat. I had done a lot of research and found out that the fly by night guys just come in a 'blow and go" and never prep the area. They cleared all the covered soffetts, filled all the holes, insulated all the can lights and placed baffles by the soffetts. They spent nearly 4 hours just prepping the area and then afterwards finally blew in the pink insulation. I had a small problem where they had accidentally hit a switch in the attic, which wasn't noticed on final inspection so the owner himself came out on a Saturday night and remedied the issue. Don't walk, run to get your attics insulated by the Insulation Guru! I wish we had discovered Chris 10 years ago. Sadly we had to go through two freezes and two set of broken pipes to realize our "attics" were not sufficiently insulated. We now have beautifully installed radiant heat barriers, Batt insulation and catwalks that will not only minimize our chance for more broken pipes, but make navigating our attic easier and, hopefully, reduce our electric and heating bills. Great job. I had radiant barrier and blown -in both installed into my almost 40-year old house. The old layer in the attics had severely compacted and the attics got super hot, making my airco run a lot more than it should. After the installation, my utility bills declined sharply and I can actually use the floored part of my attic space for storage now without melting when I go up there. I don't think I have EVER left bad review for anything but Chris deserves one. These guys did my insulation 2 years ago. The radiant barrier is good BUT the blow in was a joke. When I had them out here, I had a rat issue in my attic. I had just had insulation blown in when I bought 3 years prior and the rats were getting in through small holes and making nests with it. So Chris charged me $900 to take the old rat poop infested insulation out. The total charge to re-insulate the house was $8000, but just to remove was $900. He told me that they would be sealing all holes and access points in the attic and under the house. They did not. I contacted him multiple times to have him come out and finish what he was supposed to do and he gave me sob stories about how his business was going down the toilet. I, being a trusting and compassionate human, told him I could wait until he had the time to do it. Not only did he never contact me, I even ran into him at Home Depot one day with some of his employees. Looked like he was still in business to me! He promised me then that he would come out and fix the issue. And to no surprise, he did not. I have electricians in my house this week. Guess what else I have? Rats. Giant rats that have made nests out of not new insulation BUT OLD INSULATION. They not only didn't seal all of the access, attic or wall, they just blew new insulation (and not even enough) OVER the old in the back of the house. The rats have made a cozy little nest right next to my electrical panel and have been keeping themselves fed by eating the main circuit wires to the house. Yum. I would have given this dude 2 stars, one for the radiant and one for the insulation under the house (although who knows what the hell that looks like) but because he is so full of it and never even came to inspect the work, he gets one. He also said that he would throw in a few flooring platforms in the attic. Guess what they didn't do? If you have had work done by this guy, you may want to check it before leaving a rave review about his winning personality. read more

The Insulation Guru did a great job adding insulation and radiant barrier. The only thing I am disappointed in is the tent for the attic stairs. It is very cheap and difficult to zip and Unzip. I had insulation added to my house in the attic and the subfloor as well as a radiant barrier added. While I like the work that was done I didn't appreciate the process of having it done. The night before the they were suppose to come I hadn't heard anything about the time of their arrival so I texted Chris and they wanted to change the date of their work.... the night before..... I couldn't rearrange my work schedule for them last minute so they claimed I would be able to have everything done in one day which didn't happen and I had to stay on top of them to get them to come back 2 more times over the period of a month to finish the job! It shouldn't be my job to get you to finish your job. Your quote was originally 2 days of work but it took 3 days total and I had to make sure you came out which I didn't appreciate. If you work out your scheduling issues and actually send the fully transferable warranty paperwork as promised (which I still haven't received 8 months later) I would recommend you but as of now I do not. You definitely pitched a good sale and I'm disheartened by the level of service I received. read more

Chris is a fast talking salesman. He offered a discount if I paid in full. Shouldn't have paid him because he only did half of the work. Didn't show up after I caught his employees stealing Amazon deliveries from my house. He said he fired the employee that stole and he would personally come out to finish. He gives excuse after excuse and doesn't follow through. He hasn't been back to my house since January. We have mutual customers that have had the same issue with his absence. I see there is a recent review post with another person that has had the same issues. I used him at my house because I had a good experience with him at my building, so I thought. I drove past my building and saw this silver stuff hanging off of the roof. I stopped and saw it was radiant barrier. I hired Chris to install radiant barrier and insulation inside of the lease space when the tenant had all of the ceiling removed during the remodel. His crew actually put radiant barrier on the roof and nailed directly to the roof! I don't know why they thought nails through a roof would be ok?? When I asked him about it he said he had to go out and look at it. He didn't show up and now I'm having to deal with roof repairs. Do not use Chris with insulation guru. read more

Chris and I went through the ringer together, but he went over the top to make sure he left a good impression on me; and he did. I'm very impressed at how he handled it, and how great of a job he did. I would definitely recommend his services. You get what you pay for, and my goodness I'm glad I went with him. I've had this company do two insulation jobs. They have the initial presentation down pat. We finished the second job and we suddenly have a lot of moisture in our attic. I figured the best thing to do was to contact insulation guru so that they can come check things out before I spend money hiring an engineer to diagnose the issue. After they blew the insulation, they took weeks to return to install the soffit vents, and made many excuses for missed appointments. They eventually managed to get back and install some of the vents that were promised. Chris never came to do the final inspection as promised and foolishly I paid them. Now we have a problem, and I've taken 3 afternoons off of work to meet them, and they've missed each appointments. Everything from sick family members to natural disasters and now they just aren't responding. So buyer beware. Classic example of a vendor not showing up to stand by their work, and almost as bad, continually disrespecting my time. read more
