Attended a networking event for a professional group at Irish Exit in Moynihan Hall on a Thursday evening. The event was on a Thursday around 6:30 pm, and when I arrived the bar was packed. Irish Exit is located toward the back of Moynihan Hall near Ninth Avenue, close to the bathrooms and surrounded by various food stalls, with several large-screen televisions. It was very much a happy hour bar scene when I arrived, with loud music and a high-energy, crowded vibe. Our group had a sectioned-off area with large tables and high stools, which was helpful given how crowded the space was. It was great that our group had a designated area and a dedicated server. Service was efficient, and drinks came out quickly. I ordered two of their seasonal Talea sours (around $10), which came out within a minute of ordering and were enjoyable. We were also served pizzas and fried pickles, and it was convenient to be able to bring in food from the surrounding stalls. Overall, the space works well for large groups and casual gatherings, but it is not especially conducive to professional networking or conversation given the noise level. I would not go out of my way to return, but I would consider stopping by if I worked nearby, had time to kill, or needed a spot before catching an evening Amtrak train.

VERY cool spot within Penn station waiting area. Moynihan food court includes the Irish Exit pub restaurant. We ended up here for pregame drinks to Big East basketball tournament. Perfect location across from MSG. The pub is surrounded by several restaurant options plus you have the Irish menu as well. They welcome any of the food court food into restaurant. Full bar and of course Guinness. We enjoyed a live Irish music singer while we enjoyed a couple of pints and a pastrami Reuben. Service was very fast and helpful. It's a transient crowd waiting for their train so seats become available often. They do take reservations for groups of four or more. The sandwich we ordered was good not great. Guinness was perfect with no bitterness. This was the perfect pregame spot for our event. Would do again.

This place is amazing! It's a centrally located Irish pub. EASY access to all the trains. Easily the best Guinness draft pour on most trips to the city. The coolest thing is you use the QR code to order from any of a half dozen different restaurants and the food is delivered to you in the large, open bar. Look for Elizabeth. She's efficient, helpful, creative and friendly. Wonderful venue, right next to the escalators to trains running in every direction. Give them a try! (It was clean, comfortable and friendly.)

Loved my experience here on a rainy Saturday summer night. I had a bit to wait for my Amtrak to Albany and found this gem in the gorgeous Moynihan Hall. It was during the US Open and they were serving a frozen version of the famed Honey Deuce with a souvenir glass. Life changing. The bartenders were fun to watch at work as they were true experts. The bar was clean and had plenty of room. Will definitely stop in again when in the City.

Thank goodness for the Irish Exit, from the folks who gave us The Dead Rabbit. I'm a New Yorker who recently moved to Philadelphia and I frequently travel back and forth between cities. I do not own a car so I've become an Amtrak regular as well as a barfly. There are so many cocktails to sit and sip with creative names like Do Not Disturb (Martini), Pullman Sleeper (Manhattan), Irish Cawfee. Plus wines, beers, drafts, and Non alcoholic drinks. The bartender's are very kind and service is swift. I also like meeting my fellow travelers along the way who all spin good tales. 5 stars! .

Overall rating: 4.9 Price: $23 for 1x cocktail SO GOOD ESPRESSO MARTINI OMG. I was getting a sandwich across the way at Aildoro and was about to head on vacation. I was a little concerned with eating food from an outside place but there wasn't an issue. I need that machine in my apartment. The drink was soo good.

The Irish Exit is a large-ish bar in Moynihan. Lots of bar seating and lots of tables. They have barcodes you can scan so you order and pay from the table. That gave me time to get a drink before my train. And the drink was actually really good (a special - a passionfruit cocktail). Not a bad place for a cocktail, a pint of beer, and more, before a train.

Perfect spot for a pint before getting on the train, service was quick, easy, and the bartender was great! Plenty of seating and not over crowded at all.

This is a pretty decent bar to be in the middle of Moynihan Train Station given the chaos around. This was my second occasion coming here and I was greeted by the same bartender from my first experience. Very welcoming, clean, and fairly quick to get my order in. This is a major hub so it's always busy and you may have to wait a few minutes for your drink but it's absolutely worth the wait. I had the pleasure of having two handcrafted cocktails made by Caleb and the flavor profile was amazing! I highly recommend his daiquiri; fruity but not too sweet. I ordered a second drink to go and truly enjoyed my experience and travel home with my to go cup. I look forward to stopping here again.

Bar with a lot of drinks. No food from the bar, but they have QR codes at the table/bar so you can order to the seat from the surrounding restaurants. The area can be roped off, but generally people were using it for all the restaurants and sitting, eating, talking and drinking. I like the little train display board that displays fun facts. Servers were fine, some interesting drinks in the book, and you can get food delivered. Have had better selection (they have some draft and some bottled/canned beers), but not a bad place to hang before a train.

We decided to have drinks at the Irish Exit while waiting for our Amtrak train to depart Moynihan Station. Hands down the best Espresso Martini. Also ordered a draft Brooklyn Lager. An Espresso Martini costs $18 but that's the average price wherever you go in the tri-state area. Definitely worth it!

Old fashion and a margarita. Both were great.

This is a bar in the Food Hall of the Moyniham train station. There are a lot of tables and bar area to choose. They do not sell food, but there are plenty of places to get food. The drinks are good and the beer is cold.

I was charged a 31% fee for leaving with a tab open. Outrageous. The menu says it's only 20%, so that's a lie.

Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.

Apparently this beer is not as common in New York, but there were a couple Irish pubs that still sold them on draft and luckily there was one nearby my hotel. Very cool place! The rooftop bar is a huge open atmosphere and once seated you have about 40 beers on tap to select from. The staff is incredibly friendly as well and knew exactly what I was looking for.
