Whether you're staying at the Grand Bohemian or not, stopping in for a drink at Spirit & Bower is a must! First off, walking through the lobby and checking out the art is worth a visit on it's own. We also checked out a holiday market outside before warming up inside with a cocktail. I don't normally go for holiday drinks because they're often so sweet, but I ordered the crimson hearth which was similar to a negroni with bourbon and it was excellent. It was served in an ornament on top of of a garnished glass that I then poured over the giant ice cube... great presentation. It was rainy, cold, and foggy so we couldn't really take in the views, but I hear they're spectacular. I can confidently say that a trip to Greenville in the future won't be complete without a trip to the Grand Bo or at least the bar dwonstairs. read more

I had to physically get up from my table and walk to the bar to get any attention from our waitress twice after waiting 20-30 min. My wife and I visited here when we stayed at the wonderful Bohemian Lodge. Spirit & Bower did not disappoint. Service and ambience were great. We sat inside but were super tempted to sit outside under the amazing trees on the stone patio. My wife had a Rye Manhattan and I had an Angels Envy Bourbon Manhattan. Okay more than one. This place knows how to make a Manhattan. Since this is a Bourbon bar, I also had the Angels Envy Bourbon flight. Everything was amazing and I slept very well that night. Haha. read more

They've got a good selection of allocated bottles which as a bourbon connoisseur is nice to see, but for example they wanted $60+ for a 2 oz pour of EH Taylor Small Batch? You'd have to really want it at that price point. I mean you can get the bottle of that at Buffalo Trace for about that price. I had an Old Fashioned with Woodford Double Oak, but I should've just ordered it neat -- way too much bitters, not enough citrus or sugar. I also tried a pour of JD 10 Year (unimpressed). Really cool spot on the lower level of the Grand Bohemian in Greenville. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. We were here to celebrate a birthday and with my husband having Celiac they had some good subs. I personally don't like hummus or black beans and man I couldn't stop eating that dish for some reason, it was so flavorful. I had the elk burger and added on some cured pork belly. I think elk is a bit too lean and can be dry but I still wanted to try it. The PBLT salad was also very good, you could tell everything was made from scratch. I don't like to write negative reviews, but it's a shame to me that this beautiful place is being downgraded by bad and poorly trained service. Inbetween the trees was closed for change of service so they directed us downstairs to spirt and bower. It's a beautiful bar with a gorgeous view. We sat outside, overlooking the falls. There was us and one other person in the bar. Molly came over and took our order. My family just wanted "virgin" drinks. I ordered glass of reisling. Molly came back about 7 min later (no drinks in hand) to tell me they were out of reisling AND moscato. She asked me what else I would like and I told her I needed a few minutes to look over the menu. About 5 minutes later she brought out the "virgin"drinks and I ordered my drink. Which took another 10 minutes to bring to the table. The drink was expensive but DIVINE (and super small). She treated us like non-paying customers. I guess because we weren't ordering bar food and full alcoholic drinks, it wasn't worth her being pleasant. Literally ruined our experience there. I will have to think twice about brininging friends and family and have them subjected to the awful wait staff. read more

Spirit and Bower is a wonderful drink spot. The atmosphere inside the bar is sexy and sultry. But the outdoors area is where it's at. Yes, the beverages are a little expensive, but the tables on the stone lined patio are so relaxing. Love the sounds of the falls and the views of the river. And love the nod to Native American sculptures. Service here is great, warm and friendly. We recently tried the food. The wagyu sliders are amazing and my favorite. This was an awesome find. I tried to go to the Between the Trees restaurant at an off hour. Stumbled outside and walked along falls park only to see many people sitting outside at Spirit & Bower. Unclear if it's all the time or every night but there was no host, it's seat yourself. A nice server took my order. $17 for a margarita but it was dang strong and tasty. The burrata toast was amazing. Babbling waterfalls below the terrace. Many different types of seating inside and out. Would love to come again. read more

We arrived at this bar, in the basement of the Grand Bohemian Lodge at 9:30p, no one greeted us or indicated where we should sit. My group was pointed toward a table eventually when asking a server if they were still open given no one tried to greet us. We waited 20 minutes before going from the table we were pointed at to the bar in order to get a drink, 10 more minutes to order a round and receive the drinks. When we went to order a second round, right after 11p the bartender went to make our drinks but the manager stopped her; she came back and said they were closed at 11 and she wasn't allowed to pour another drink. There wasn't a last call or any signage indicating when they closed (beyond this app or on the Marriott App). We don't mind the time of closure, the issue is the lack of service at this location. We came to have a few drinks after an event, had to basically beg for a round of drinks, and didn't have an understanding of when the bar closed until the moment it did. Not a good experience for a bar, especially one in a hotel we're staying at for $500+ a night, that's all. read more

As you will read in most comments, yes, the location is great. Whether you are sitting around the fire pit on a cool night or sitting along the perimeter it is a great vibe for sure. I have visited a couple of times prior for business, but I had never seen the bill due to it being taken care of. For 2 drinks, the price was way more than it should have been. Thankfully, it was an anniversary dinner and we were given dessert, otherwise, I would complain that the dessert was not worth the price. I say that as you should know to expect to wait, that's just how it is and it's worth it. Ken was working the door/line, doing an incredible job as mobs of people asked questions and lined up. When we got downstairs, we noticed the staff was working insanely hard and doing the best they could with the busy crowd and having just worked Christmas Day as well!! The bourbon bar inside of the Grand Bohemian hotel. Excellent mixologists as the cocktails were prepared well. My wife had a cucumber gimlet with no sugar(she is a diabetic). I had a boulevardier. Both were perfect. We had several of the appetizers as we had nothing to eat that day. The trout dip was excellent and our daughter loved the wavy sliders. The pork sausage flatbread was a bit spicy so be forewarned. Excellent selection of bourbons which is my drink of choice. read more
