Food is very good. It's a blend of Irish, American and Maryland fusion. The corned beef poppers are to die for!

AND THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN was a 3% fee on credit card payments AND a mandatory 25% gratuity that was included in our bill!! Sure, we were a party of eight, however this is above the industry standard. For a party of eight, expect 18-20% auto‑gratuity on the pre‑tax subtotal. This is the standard in most U.S. restaurants, and you should not add a separate tip unless service was outstanding according to The National Restaurant Association and Emily Post Institute. The restaurant is in Severna Park, not DC, New York, Chicago or Los Angeles. So, Killarney House you just got 100% of my business as well as all of the people in my party who dined and were duped at Brian Boru. Plus, the interior and exterior of Killarney House is beautiful. And if you ever have an issue at Killarney House, ask for Anthony. He will fix any issue to your satisfaction. Would I recommend Brian Boru? Not now Will I return to Brian Boru's? No

Ordered the leek/mushroom omelet and the French toast (which is really a decadent bananas foster in disguise). Both are killer. Enjoyed an Irish coffee with Teeling small batch whiskey (from Dublin) and also sampled a couple of lovely stout beers on tap. Service was friendly and professional. Decided to get some take-out for the kids and went with fish & chips and mac & cheese and nearly didn't serve it to them, wanted to devour it myself. This is where Brookland's Finest used to be. The interior has been revamped and the new design makes it more functional and inviting. It seems like there's more seating. The space can be opened up to let in the gentle breezes, so pleasant. The Harp is tickety-boo. Slainte, indeed.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed by the time I arrived so I can not review anything about food. I will say that the atmosphere is very lively, there's a range of hip hop music to irish music that will switch occasionally. The staff here really take care of you; and make sure that you get your order in if it's busy. On a busy saturday night, that's much appreciated! I will definitely have to try out their food next time; a must visit for those who seek good irish food and drinks ranging from beers to good mixed drinks!

Service was perfection. The interior has a great dark wood/chandelier, old-school bar vibe and comfortable seating without it being too noisy when packed. There is some signage about the poet himself. We started of with the "cheese dip" which is an interesting way to describe a pretzel appetizer. But boy howdy, the cheese dip was enormous, which complemented the salty, buttery pretzels perfectly. The stuffed lamb was pretty reasonably priced and came with spinach and potatoes. Both that and the strip steak were a bit heavy on the sauce though, but otherwise, great dishes. Don't forget to swing by the bathroom. I just really like the posters in the hallway. The bathrooms were nice though. Overall, this is a reasonably-priced, inviting atmosphere, and tasty good. Great spot for the area.

He's had the home since I believe the 1940s and the biz has been open since the 50s or 60s. Irv is also the only bartender and single handely has run the place for decades. If you were in Greek life like myself you'll feel right at home -- the basement feels like a frat house (in the best way). With bras on the ceiling and plenty of MD decor, it's got a vibe that to me feels cozy! Make sure you bring cash and a good attitude and you'll have a great time!

I made the trek with some buddies the day before the 2025 home opener, and it did not disappoint. We were immediately greeted by a young man who directed us downstairs, and said "Irv will be down in a minute, make yourselves at home." We descended into the basement of this unassuming waterfront house, and there he was. 101 year old Irv, emerging from the shadows like an old wizard from your favorite sci-fi movie, almost like Yoda. He politely and softly asked us what we wanted, and proceeded to serve us the best round of Natty Bohs I may have had in my life. This bar isn't like your neighbor's basement bar - it's a full bar with a pool table, full service rest rooms, a functional jukebox, and a lot of the charm you'd find in your favorite dive bar. The only thing you won't find at your favorite bar is Irv. At 101, he's sharp as a tack. Funny, with a lifetime of stories. Sign his wall, by a t shirt or shot glass, admire the bras hanging from the ceiling, and soak in what could be a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you, Irv.
