I walked in and sat down requesting a game specifically, and I waited to order food and drink till they got the game on because that's why I wanted to be there. I got the drink and was about to order food when the same person came and switched the TV to something else right in front of me. There was a couple of different sports going on so now my game was suddenly on 0 tv's, and for the same person to switch my tv was a little offensive to me, so I got my drink to go and left - so I can't speak to the food. If you are going to be a sports bar, realize your patrons (especially if they ask for a game) are there for the game primarily and hope the food and drink fall into line. read more

This place was excellent for a dive sports bar! It is small and quaint it full of tvs with different sports. We went to watch game 4 of the dodgers v. brewers game and found a load of other LA Dodger fans. The bar tenders were super chill and the food and drinks were great. Great place to watch the Sunday football games but you need to get here early cause they have very limited seating. I didn't get a picture of the mozzarella sticks but they are amazing! Packed sport bar with many dedicated football fans. If that's your vibe, this place is for you. We got the Hang Ova Burger, and it turned out to be a very good breakfast. They can be more lighter on the salt for the French fries. Cool ac all around. read more

I happened to stumble into this place while I was walking around, trying to find food since I barely ate all day. I was so happy I did because the food was phenomenal, as was the service. The gentleman behind the bar helped me to confirm which sandwich I wanted, despite the bar having a nice amount of people in it. This kind of attention to help the customer feel satisfied seems uncommon to me but it was so pleasantly refreshing. I got the spicy chicken Poboy sandwich and I devoured it. I even ended up coming back a couple of days later for more food to bring with me for my flight home. They were able to help me out with a food accommodation on my breakfast wrap - since I don't eat pig products, they substituted chicken for me. Everything was delicious! I will definitely come back here next time I'm in the area. I did notice that a lot of places have credit processing fees and "to-go" fees. So that's good to keep in mind. read more

We found The Jimani just walking by down in the French Quarter. We were hot and looked inside and the place was clean and not insane like most places there and the AC was nice and cold. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away, we ordered drinks that were made very quickly and OH SO STRONG! Then we were asked if we wanted food and we ordered the boudin balls. Took about 10 minutes but the cook was churning out food the entire time and we were enjoying our drinks so we did not mind. The Buodin balls came fresh out the fryer to us by the cook and they were delicious! Hot and crispy on the outside, hotter and tender on the inside! It was too hot outside and we were pretty full from the Boudin balls so we did not order anything else. Fun spot, good music, great food and amazing drinks! read more

Walked up to the bar to look at a menu and the purple haired bartender slid it away from me. I slowly slid it back to look at it. Took over 30 minutes for a chili cheese dog. Hard metal played the entire time and I get that's some people's vibe. I didn't mind because I figured that I'd just pick up my food and scoot... but I had to sit in that for over 30 minutes instead. Went here looking for a spot to watch college football on a Saturday night. They had all the good games going and surprisingly had great food and drinks!! I would leave zero stars if I could. I'm a local who lives and works in the French Quarter and I have to say that this place is so disappointing. The girl with colored hair forgot our food, still charged us, and then gave us old food that was sitting there after an hour and a half. She never apologized, and just gave us insane attitude as if it was our fault. The other three times BONNIE was behind the bar, and honestly, I'm embarrassed for her. She couldn't be bothered to help us with a drink. Our food order came out wrong every single time and it felt like a big joke. No apologies and no remorse. This place is a cesspool of late night quarter dwellers who and rude and ignorant. Please just save yourself the time and energy, there are at least 10 if not 20 other places that I would recommend over this place for a drink and a bite. read more

This place will stick with me till the day I die. New Orleans has so many bars but this one is one of my favorite spots. Great beer selections, we were a group of 14 and got our food very quickly. The amount tvs in this place is insane, there has to be close to 15 tvs. The bartender was great, and overall it's one of the nicer bars in that general area, very updated and somewhat modern. Still get the "dive bar" feel though. The Philly cheesesteak was one of the best things I have ever put into my mouth. It was so good I forgot to take a picture before I bit into that deliciousness. She had already dropped my other sister's change down on the bar instead of putting it into her hand.Then, refused to serve the second round and left my food sitting to get cold as though she didn't know it belonged to me. We left and went nearby to Ghost Bar where we were greeted upon entry and treated as though our business was appreciated. That's the bartender who deserved and received her tip! Okay this little hole in the wall spot has some pretty decent food. It's been here for sooo many years. Decided to finally stop in leaving from Canal Place. I didn't order a drink as I still had my champagne from the previous spot. I did however order a hangover burger + wings. The burger was huge and I could only eat half. I ate all of the wings. Ahh the Jimani... it's probably been a couple of decades since I last stepped inside. It's just one of those corner bars that are just there in the FQ. Good spot to hang out and chat with your friends and chill for a bit. Drinks are relatively cheap for the FQ and service can be hit or miss. But that's about what I expect from a dive. I stopped in on Saturday night with a friend who was curious about the spot. It felt weird to be just in a bar but I guess we'll all be doing this again soon... Disappointingly or maybe predictably mask wearing was spotty. The bartender wore her mask when my friend (maybe because he was wearing his as was I) ordered our drinks but wasn't doing so consistently. Other patrons were in varying degrees of unmasked to chin straps to masks on their wrists. We stayed for a few and sipped our drinks and then moved on. read more

This is a typical French Quarter bar with a tiny kitchen. So, ambiance is obvious. Very down to earth. I was in for a quick burger. It was not crowded, and it took them over thirty minutes to manage a burger, which was simply ordinary. Unfortunately, the cook was preparing the food with his bare hands. Thankfully, I am not ill with food poisoning almost 24 hours later, and am grateful. I gave an extra stat because the bar staff was nice and they were really working hard. read more

I came here completely on accident. It was 1 in the morning. I was walking to get a pizza by the slice from another place, but they were closed and we just got a hurricane notice. In an instant it was pouring down hard and people were taking shelter. I ran in here to dry . It was packed with locals. Gf and I were the only ones from out of town. It was a ruff spot. Girls rolling blunts on the side. Fight almost broke out between some guys. But I'ma tell you. The food was cheap as hell, and really really good. Place comes with free entertainment if you hang around kind enough. Bar tender with the green hair was cute AF and pretty cool too talk to. Probably not the place to take mom, but if your want a dive bar experience you'll definitely get that here. Oddly I really liked the vibe of this place. Can't beat really good cheap food with a side of danger. Would come back here again if caught in another hurricane. read more

If you are looking to watch sports, this is a good place to go. They have the Big Ten Network which was crucial for us because we had to watch the Purdue Boilermakers win the Big Ten Tournament, which they did. The bartenders were all great and happy to oblige getting the games on for us. We made three visits to the bar just for that purpose. We will definitely keep this place in mind if we happen to return during basketball season. Go Boilers! read more

Spur of the moment visit as my dining party decided against another venue. While it was on my BOOKMARKED "to try list"; I didn't expect to visit as soon... but hey, there's not time like the present. Breakfast sandwich & a spicy crab po-boy... great choices. I was gonna get the breakfast sandwich, but opted for the spicy crab po-boy; it was true to its name - SPICY!!!!! The drinks were tasty & inexpensive!!! This place was definitely a pleasant surprise and a GREAT little impromptu venue change. Walk in and grab a seat. Go to the bar, place your order. And wait for your food to be delivered to the table. The crowd was lite but still the place, while not small, seemed full. Guess folks were just evenly disbursed. The decor is quite interesting and worthy of taking note of. Especially the "security cameras or decorative security camera looking lights"; plus there's a cool BREATHALYZER mounted on the bar right before you exit... I didn't use it, probably just decorations, but still amazing. Good luck with parking, it's in the Quarters, so be warned. read more

I sat and chopped it up with some folk and bartenders til almost 5am this past Saturday. Everyone was friendly. If you want good beer/drinks and actually want a glass and not a plastic cup, this is a good spot. I came in here on my way back to the hotel pissed at the last spots beer prices and beer that was out on their menu. Came in here to smiles from everyone, got food cooking. Actually had 2 of the beers that the last spot was out of and said they will probably never get again and half the price. Anyway friendly bartenders, friendly patrons. Nobody sloppy drunk. Sat and talked for few hours and turned in. Can't give 5 stars as I didn't eat anything and I know that's what folk complain about here. I had a $5 tab and dipped out for bed. Just a typical dive bar but with great beer selection. A good number of beers on tap along with a huge cooler of bottles and cans. Don't expect anything fancy or great service. And her off-duty friend was at the bar actively telling customers (sweet old man and his wife) that they weren't "acting properly". Dude at the end of the bar got amazing service. It was close to our hotel which was the draw for us at the time, but it is clearly a favorite of the locals. Down to earth, cheap and good food! Place had a real good vibe. On top of that, they don't gouge you on the price of drinks like so many places do in this part of town. I really enjoyed being here, and I definitely will be back.
