This is a small little bar just off Bourbon St in New Orleans. Not much to it but they have the best crawfish I've had. Really good. You just go up yo the bar, bartender gives you a styrofoam plate and you fill that bad boy up and most of the time they tell you to fill it up where you can't close it. My friend came here for crawfish and a drink in the afternoon while waiting for me. The crawfish aren't served until 5:45pm, so unfortunately she couldn't try them. However, there was a 2 for 1 beer deal and while she was enjoying a beer, she saw a rat come down a shelf and scurry across the back of the bar. When she pointed it out, everyone at the bar casually informed her that that was normal and expected. We ended up going to a different bar, where we mentioned the rat that we saw at three legged dog, and the bartender AND the patrons said "yeah that's the place that's known to have rats." So, went here because it was near my hotel in NOLA. Beer was BOGO. Yeah. When you pay $10 for a beer that is not really a deal. Bar food was not great. Taco meat was not fresh. Burger okay. And Chicken Nuggets and tots directly from freezes to deep fryer. A rat walked across the floor and into trash. I told bartender and her response was, "Yes, they come in and out". Divey bar which was cool until some idiot came in louder than the music talking crap about wanking himself. The bartender gal entertained him so he didn't shut up! We ordered tots and hatch chili chicken rolls before this clown started so be were obligated to stay. Both items were very salty, so if you're into that, and wanker dude talker, this is your place. Was late one night and we wanted something to eat. My friend saw a video of someone recommending this place so we went. It was a Friday night and it wasn't packed. It's a pretty small bar and I thought it was unique they had money on the ceiling. It was about 11:30 and we wanted to order some food. The guy at the bar said the kitchen was closed at the time but that it would open up at 12. So we waited the 30 mins. I ordered the garlic parm wings and mozzarella sticks and my friend ordered the hatch eggrolls(I believe that's what it was like a southwest chicken eggroll). We ordered our food to go. After we received our food two of my friends saw a rat in the restaurant. I know a lot of places in the French quarter have rat issues but it was still nasty to see in the bar. came here trying to get crawfish 2 nights but ultimately failed. Service here was great though, bartender was friendly and helped make a memorable night for my group. The food they offer is some good solid bar food and a great late night stop. They take an hour break after midnight to clean up the kitchen for anybody who's trying to get food around that time. Ambiance here is nice, it's not very packed and a bit off Bourbon so it's a lot more calm. There's some games and tvs but overall just a traditional bar experience. Came to Three Legged Dog after having it saved on my list for NOLA for years! I saved it after seeing it on one of Anthony Bourdain's shows (RIP). It definitely is a local spot, they do a crawfish boil once per day at set times (6pm weeknights). The crawfish boil is simple: the bartender gives you a box and you can fill it up with as much as you want, as long as the box closes, you're good. All for $25. The crawfish boil is in a cooler and has corn, potatoes, garlic gloves on top of crawfish. It's spicy, but good! Restrooms are a bit dingy and tables are a bit sticky - but it's expected for a local spot that's a bit of a-hole-in-the-wall. read more

I'm in town to work on bourbon st, came in to order food with my friend. I have a temporary paper ID from the dmv, which the bartender with brown hair immediately snatched from me and attempted to rip up my valid paper id ( full barcode, official DMV letterhead and all) before I could say anything. We told her we were just trying to order food not drinks (which, I am perfectly able to do with a temporary liscense from the dmv, but wasn't even trying to do) and she said I couldn't be there (fair, I get it. like . I'm not trying to be an asshole and order drinks from a bartender whose uncomfortable taking my valid form of id. I've been in the industry 5+ years, I get it). what's not okay is literally attempting to rip my completely valid form of id in front of me. I literally would not have been able to fly home. or work anywhere my entire trip. like that almost cost me 100s of dollars I spent to come to NOLA, I would've been stranded not being able to go through tsa with no ID. I understand bar staff is overwhelmed, but give them more support so stuff like this doesn't happen. Hubby and I split the fried pork loin sandwich and tots. It was huge and excellent. We also got an order of crawfish smoked queso. The tortilla chips are made in house. The queso had a nice smoked flavor but tasted like doctored up Velveeta. It was still pretty good and that didn't stop us from finishing it off. We were super hyped to try this place due to the reviews on this app. When we arrived we were the only people in there besides the staff however it took a good 10 minutes to get a menu and the bartender acknowledged it was shift change we found what we wanted and decided to go up to the bar to order. The going debate was Lunchables and after waiting for around 20 minutes without even a drink we walked out. I expect loud and staff having a good time I do not appreciate being ignored.
