The Rohan duck breast itself was cooked very well -- tender, properly rendered, and clearly prepared with care -- but what was never communicated by the staff was just how sweet the overall composition of the dish would be. Pairing that with cocktails that also leaned heavily sweet made the entire meal feel one-note and overwhelming by the midpoint of dinner. The red beans and rice suffered from the same issue. Despite the spice topping, the dish skewed surprisingly sweet and didn't complement the duck at all. What frustrated me most was that this felt entirely avoidable. At a restaurant with a cocktail reputation this strong, I would expect the wait staff to guide guests toward drinks that balance the meal rather than amplify the sweetness already present in multiple courses. Instead, no recommendations or warnings were offered, and the meal suffered because of it. I was especially underwhelmed by the Harlequin cocktail, which seems to receive a massive amount of online hype. In practice, it simply didn't justify the reputation. It wasn't bad, but it lacked the complexity and "wow" factor you would expect from a signature drink that's so heavily talked about. Overall, there are flashes of excellence here, particularly in the appetizer course and technical preparation, but the lack of thoughtful service and pairing guidance made the experience feel far less polished than advertised.

I recently stayed at the One11 Hotel, and Batture Bistro and Bar is conveniently located within the hotel. It's nice to have a spot to grab a drink before heading out to dinner. We stopped by for their happy hour, but I was disappointed by the limited options available. They definitely need to improve the food selections, as it would help attract more foot traffic. The happy hour menu only featured discounts on drinks, along with meatballs and egg rolls containing pork, which didn't offer much variety. While the atmosphere was nice, the food options fell short of expectations. Overall, with some improvements to the menu, this place could be a great addition to the hotel experience. read more

Such a cool, cozy spot for cocktails and a bite. Love that the building is restored from the late 1800 and they kept the historical character. Has warm brick walls, and original beams. We stopped in for cocktails and an appetizer before dinner. I had the Basil Cucumber Fizz and my hubby got the Satsuma Squirt, both were very tasty. Then we ordered the Bleu Buffalo Sprouts and the Boudin Egg Rolls. Both were DELICIOUS! The Bleu Buffalo Spr0outs were actually the best Brussels Sprouts I've ever had. Loved the aioli dipping sauce! And the Bleu Buffalo Sprouts were amazing and how I want to eat brussels sprouts all the time now.
