She presented me with a cone of strawberry cheesecake ice cream and mentioned she scooped it to have extra graham cracker swirl, which is her favorite part. Love that! Because of the heat, I opted to eat my ice cream in the car. This ice cream packs a punch in sweetness. Between the cheesecake, the graham cracker swirl and the strawberry mixed in, this is a sweet tooth's dream cone. While sweeter than my preference usually, I did enjoy this cone down to the last bite! It was a fun little trip to come by here, and it's good to know when I'm in the area, I can stop by for some quality ice cream!

My one complaint is that there were very few tables, so we had nowhere to sit to eat our ice cream. There was one family that had long since finished their ice cream just lingering and taking up space at the few tables. This isn't the fault of the business, but it does highlight the lack of seating available. Even a few bar height tables to lean on would have been better.

I expected it to be very sweet, but instead the ice cream had some lovely deep caramel notes from the cookie butter and the big chunks of speculoos cookies were soft and easy to eat without being overwhelmed by sugar. Once again another great trip to the Ice Cream Machine and a reminder to not wait so long before I visit again.

There are many picnic tables and a parking lot. This place can get busy and for good reason!

This place was conveniently located not too far from shopping plazas, so it made for a very good errand plus treat day. When we arrived, there was a line of about four parties and only one employee but despite that, the line moved very quick and she greeted everyone with a smile and treated everyone with kindness. There were many flavors that looked and sounded good including the chocolate chip cookie dough which was packed with more cookie and chocolate chips than I have ever seen, as well as the Nutella and strawberry cheesecake. Last minute, I went with the salted caramel with pecans because of all the caramel it was packed with, and my brother had the cookie butter. Both were very good and portions sizes were decent. The cookie butter was a vanilla base loaded with Biscoff cookie; I enjoyed the smooth, but crunchy/grainy texture. The pecans in the salted caramel did help to offset the sweetness, but also added a crunchy texture. There is ample room to sit and eat inside, and also a couple tables and chairs in the shade outside.

Our sundaes come with homemade hot fudge, whipped cream, a cherry, and your choice of topping!

Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to get ice cream here. But if I was already going to Wright's Dairy farm, I might treat myself to more coffee Oreo if I was in the mood.

The Keep has become one of our favorite places to grab ice cream, and considering it's only a short drive from our home in Lincoln, we find ourselves stopping by pretty often. It's such a fun, unique little shop that stands out from the typical seasonal ice cream stand. One thing I appreciate right away is the setup. There's plenty of parking, and because it's an indoor shop, you're not standing outside in the heat waiting for your turn. Instead, you walk into a cozy space with medieval-themed decor that's just plain fun. It's different without feeling over-the-top, and it gives the place its own personality. The staff has always been fantastic. We've been coming here for years, and every visit has been met with friendly faces and genuine patience. Even when there are people in line, I've never felt rushed while deciding what I wanted. Considering how many flavors they offer, that's a good thing. Speaking of flavors, I probably shouldn't admit how many I've worked my way through over the years. My personal favorites are the Cookie Dough, Cotton Candy, and Pistachio, but honestly, I haven't had one that disappointed me. Everything tastes fresh, rich, and homemade, and you can tell they take pride in what they're serving. The prices are very reasonable, especially when you see the portions. I usually order a medium in a cup, and it's more than enough. They definitely don't skimp on the scoops, so you're getting great value for your money. The last time we stopped in, we grabbed our ice cream, found a table, and spent a while playing a game of chess. It was one of those simple afternoons that reminded me why I like this place so much. It's more than just somewhere to grab dessert. It's somewhere you actually want to hang out for a bit. If you're anywhere near Cumberland or the surrounding area and you're in the mood for homemade ice cream, The Keep is absolutely worth the trip. Seriously the best ice cream around. All of it is freshly made in small batches in their shop. The honey ice cream is amazing, made from local honey. They tend to keep about a dozen or more different flavors on hand and change things up every couple of weeks so if you see something you think you'll like get it, cuz it may be gone next time. read more
