The atmosphere is happy, vibrant, and alive. The owner, Cameron, is on a whole other level of amazing. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and absolutely top-notch. He's the best of the best. The managers -- Zack, Nigel, and Noah -- are just as wonderful, always making sure you're happy and that every detail is just right. The food is truly on another level. Everything is made from scratch, prepared perfectly, and flavored so delicately and thoughtfully. It's so finely tuned -- every single bite is delicious and special. And the melted butter served in the warmer? Absolutely incredible -- unlike anywhere else! The truffle butter sauce they make is the most delicious sauce ever. Their chops- they are in a class of their own. I've never tasted a filet mignon so perfect. So full of flavor and cooked perfectly every time. Their steaks are the most delicious in the world! And yes, I've traveled the world. The sides -- the carrots and green beans -- are cooked to perfection. The twice-baked potato is like no other -- rich, creamy, and so delicious. Just good! Sometimes you don't know what to expect. Sometimes what you expect doesn't quite make it. Other times, you have no expectations, make your presumptions based on the visual aspect and then ultimately impressed all around. This was one of those other times. We started with the Calamari. Lightly fried delicate little delicious sea creatures which was a fantastic start to the evening. Next up was the French Onion Soup. We went a little sideways on this one. It came out not quite like I've ever had FOS before. Immediately I assumed that this was The Keg's "take on French Onion Soup". Luckily I was with someone familiar with The Keg and he quickly determined that this was not right. We called the server over, he immediately recognized the issue. After a quick apology, two new orders of FOS were back at our table and well worth the wait. A great recovery makes you forget a lot about what may have gone wrong. For my entree, I went with the Prime Rib Sliders, found on their Casual Plates menu. These did NOT disappoint. Delicious in every single way with a killer horseradish sauce. Would I go back? No question. The food was great and the service was fantastic. For a casual business/friend meal, I could not have chosen a better location myself. I hold nothing against them for the French Onion Soup issue. They recognized it and recovered, as a Team. I called here and they also said they were full, but after I explained my situation they made an exception and fit us in. From that point on we've made regular visits. This is now our favorite restaurant -- honestly better than any steakhouse we have in the States. The food is on another level. The steaks are always top quality and cooked perfectly every single visit. Even the vegetables stand out -- bright, fresh, and full of flavor. The lobster tails are fantastic and taste incredibly rich. One of the best touches is the house-made butter they serve with them. It's creamy and actually clings to the lobster (or even your steak if you dip it) instead of dripping off. The flavor is outstanding. The entire menu feels first class while still being fairly priced. And the Billy Miner Pie -- coffee ice cream pie loaded with goodness -- is a must-order every time. I even brought my company here for a business dinner, and while we were waiting in the lobby Cameron had appetizers and hors d'oeuvres brought out to us -- like we were a wedding party -- completely free of charge. Who does that anymore? Managers Noah, Nigel, Zack and the entire staff -- including the wait staff -- treat you like family. The service truly matches the quality of the food and the overall experience. That's not common to find these days, yet it's consistent every single visit. I was attending an event at a nearby hotel and walked over to grab a quick bite. I started with the black and blue margarita. It kind of taste like fruit punch but was a good balance. Because we arrived during happy hour my sister and I decided to try several different bar bites and split them. We ordered the three pepper wings, prime rib sliders, Caesar Brussel sprouts, and scallops and bacon. The bartender was attentive and very nice even though the restaurant was crowded on a Saturday night. The food was a little slow to come out, but again it was a busy Saturday so it's kind of expected. I would order everything except the scallops again. Nigel, the General Manager came to speak to me about the overcooked steak. He was great. My wife and I have both worked in hospitality for over a decade, and he truly cared about us being happy. It was getting late and we live about a half hour north of Detroit. I asked for the steak to go. Nigel made it happen, and quickly! Today for dinner, I reheated the steak at 250 on the Togo tray in the oven (they are great quality and made of foil). It reheated thoroughly and stayed at a perfect Medium. Thank you Keg. For dinner, I had the Ribsteak and my husband had the Prime Rib. Both were cooked to our specifications and had great flavor. My steak came with vegetables which were very fresh tasting. The only thing I did not enjoy was the Wedge salad. This is my go to with my steak and so I have had plenty to compare to. I felt it was mediocre. It wasn't as much wedge as iceberg lettuce leaves. I know it's a chain and might not seem all that special, but to this American, IT IS! They are not in America, specifically Michigan, and I have missed it so! If a guest asks the bartender for the bill and the bartender goes to another guest and takes a drink order, opens and pours a bottle of wine, stands around and chats it up, then takes a food order from the same guests, I think it's pretty safe to say that the bartender isn't worried about having a consistent reputation for service. I had to ask a random manager behind the bar for my bill so I could get out of there. On my way out the bartender who never returned with my bill decided to snidely say "Thanks for your patience". Stop it! I regret tipping her anything after that. They normally have a great bar with great people who tend to flock there. After waking up early, running errands, then driving almost five hours to Windsor, I was pretty tired. Luckily my hotel was only a block away from here and the weather was nice, so I walked over for dinner. And I'm glad it didn't disappoint. The bar had a lively, friendly crowd, so I opted to eat dinner there. I had a good, local pale ale, but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it. I ordered the blue cheese crusted Filet Mignon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it was very good and cooked perfectly. And although the two bartenders had their hands full, they never made me feel neglected. And of course I had a piece of their great Billy Miner Pie for dessert. I haven't been to a Keg in 5+ years and I haven't been to this one ever. It's been over a year since I was able to cross the border but I was staying down the street and I felt like steak and the kids wanted to go for a walk so we ended up here. They have a special QR code COVID questionnaire as you check in. You check in with the hostess, they have you complete a form and it produces a screen. Once you have that, they take you to your table. Their main dining room has a beautiful view of the river and the Detroit skyline but there can be a longer wait to get in there. We were less picky and went into an overflow room which has no windows or natural light. Instead of typical steakhouse dark wood and mood lighting (like even the Devonshire location), this one has light oak and is brightly lit. The kids never looked up from their devices but I would hesitate on this if I was here for business or date night. The steak is properly done as most chain steakhouses can do. They also have a proper cocktail menu. There's also a small kids menu. Some reviews have mentioned pricing. There is a final page of the menu called Keg Classics. Rather than pricing a la carte, this adds mushrooms and your choice of a side. It makes the price pretty reasonable for a steak dinner. You can get steak and those two sides for as little as $40 per person. The kids menu is surprisingly not as much of a value -- kids meals are $13 or so and they are just chicken tenders or mac and cheese but they do include a bowl of ice cream that is as big as the entree. The cocktails I mentioned were around $13 which is surprisingly below market for a craft cocktail. read more

Our experience here was very impressive last night. We made a same day reservation and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. Once seated, our waiter, Mike, was so nice and professional. He knew his stuff! From the drinks to the entrees. We ordered calamari and Cesar salad to start and a couple of adult beverages. The calamari had its pros and cons. The dish, was cooked well, but since it was so lightly breaded, it ended up being too greasy. Mike also brought us out this freshly baked bread which tasted amazing with the butter. Yum! For entrees we ordered prime rib steaks, crab legs, potatoes, and veggies. The steaks were cooked perfectly! And the Alaskan king crab legs were out of this world!!!! I could barely get to my potato because the steak and crab were so good. For dessert, we had the brownie sundae. I personally didn't like the brownie too much. Our primary server was friendly, helpful, and engaging to just the right extent. Even on this Friday night with many out of town visitors in the city to celebrate university graduations. I'll start by saying I'm a fan of the keg. I haven't been let down yet. We ordered the prime rib which had been slow roasting all day and was mentioned by the waitress who was in training. I was SOLD and had to try it. We started off with the tuna tartar with fresh avocados and was awesome. Cucumber cooler drink was refreshing and not too much soda in it.
