I don't drink but my date does and this was an impressive deal. Being unfamiliar with the ordering process we needed help with the menu and Ant guided us through the options, described the different flavors and spice levels of each boil base and was just overall so attentive and on top of things. Being served a steaming bag of vibrantly spiced seafood, sausage and corn in such a comfortable and unpretentious space saved the night. We selected the family bag of shrimp and mussels to share and were given ample lime wedges, gloves and bibs to be able to enjoy them with. As much as fine dining is treated as a special ritual which takes itself too seriously, it can easily be outdone by fresh, modern accessible places like Star Crab - a spot where kind young people treat you with care and prides itself on an abundance of fresh ingredients. Shrimp, mussels and crab ARE luxuries and we feasted like royalty. We will most certainly have more date nights at Star Crab. Came here a few years when they first opened everything was great . But my visit yesterday was terrible service from start to finish. Received food with no bibs, gloves and utensils, had to go ask for them. We brought a birthday cake, and server originally said they would clear out table to do cake, we waited for about 15min , he never came back of course after we paid the $200 tab! So I ended up rolling up the food myself and making enough room to cut my cake and server everyone . Which was sure to be a $25 tip turned into $8, simply because I work in the hospitality business, but they should t have gotten anything. I also believe we were racially profiled , because of how many times we were walked past and had to get up to ask for what we needed , the long idle wait times! You shouldn't teach your servers, to never judge a book by its cover , you shouldn't be a server if you don't understand equal service regardless of the tip, pick a new job. Hands down the best seafood experience I've had! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. Me and a group of friends went to The Kickin' Crab once again on a Sunday night and it was pretty packed! We waited about 40 minutes for a party of four so just a heads up for this who want to eat in the evening. I believe Friday nights aren't as packed so keep an eye out for that day! We ordered the first combo with the Kickin' Style Sauce and I must say it was delicious. Usually they are consistent with their sauces but it can lean from too buttery or too salty on days. It was just right that day and one thing about the Riverside location is that the seafood is always really fresh/firm. I've had bad experiences at other places where the shrimp would be mushy or the crawfish was black. No issues here! Also make sure to leave a Yelp review for free Cajun fries! I've been coming to this exact location since the very first day they opened. I don't mind driving from a different city just to eat their food and sauce. Their kickin style sauce is one of a kind and I don't think there's anywhere else like it. I've never ate inside the restaurant because I like to eat messy in private lol. My first time here tonight and it was so good! I had a bag of shrimp mild with Cajun seasonings added a boil egg yumm, fried calamari, bowl of white rice, wings/fries and spicy edamame. I went into the restaurant yesterday with a couple of buddies for dinner. We were greeted and sat down right away. Amy was our server and was super friendly. She took our drink order while we contemplated on what to eat. I ended up getting the snow crab and fries. The snow crab was very delicious. I took my family to Kickin Crab on Saturday for my 10 year old bday. This ought to be one of worst restaurant experience I had in awhile. This place don't offer a kid friendly menu. They menu options is limited. They didn't have all the items on the menu. They served us crappy appetizers on to-go paper bowls. I don't recommend this place to anybody. Try going to Boiling Crab or somewhere else. This place is like the Lakers this year; straight garbage! read more

FOOD: I have tried a lot of restaurants that served Cajun style seafood but I must say this Kickin' Crab exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and the sauce adhered to it perfectly and was not too salty. TIPS: Garlic noodles + sriracha+ a little squeeze of lime (your choice) = YUM! Food was terrible, the shrimp was very non-flavorful, has no type of taste, the food was cold within 5 minutes of it being served to me and my family. The sausages were very hard to chew on, it felt like I was chewing rubber. The king crab legs were very disgusting as well. The water they gave was also nasty, tastes like toilet water. Coming to Kickin Crab is always such a great experience. I've never experienced long waits to get seated or for the food. The sandwich was good, I really liked the hot links they used (I'm particular about my hot links). If you like your eggs a little on the runny side you'll 10/10, me 9.5. But now let's get into the wings. 100000/10. They are hard fried, and saucy! The buffalo sauce is the perfect blend of tangy with that little buffalo kick. Nothing crazy spicy. But so damn good, better than Wingstop. Yes I said it. Exactly what I want when I say buffalo wings (no slimy/soft skin). Great little spot! Okay Mo Val!
