First time here and we live near by. The location is nice and the selection is good but the prices are high. We got oysters at I think 5 each? Our waitress was nice enough but artificial nice and it was obvious enough that my husband commented it to me. We would also ask about a special and then have to ask for prices. We also had to ask about the oysters. Salty? Size? Cost? Too.much effort. I would come back but for happy hour since maybe it will be a.more reasonable price for items. Btw the burger you have to ask for. It is not on the menu. We didn't get how much the burger was (we were not given prices). Nice atmosphere

Solid spot , maybe the best food on Daniel island. Lobster bisque was good, could have used a couple chunks of lobster. Also wish they did the happy hour in the restaurant and not just upstairs. Soft shell crab was nice on the bed of corn. Server was very very attentive.

Came to Kingstide for oysters and wine. It's always such a lovely experience. The oysters were fresh, the wine was great, and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. The waterfront views, the relaxed upscale vibe, and the attentive service, make it the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a great meal. Definitely worth a visit on Daniel Island.

Great evening for a first visit at the kingside. My friend dreams of their carrots and recommended this location for our monthly girls night. Located in Daniel island on the waterfront, they have a beautiful establishment with walking paths all around so you can enjoy some time before and after you dinner. We had early reservations on a Friday evening and were sat immediately with the option of indoors or outdoors. We went with the outdoor option, per recommendation of the hostess. So glad we did. The view was beautiful and the breeze off the water kept a 95° evening relatively cool. We started with the carrots, and the burrata in which both were standouts. We shared the blackened grouper per the waiters recommendations and it was lovely. I'm generally not a fan of grits - but these cooked with tomato and mushrooms with the perfect balance of butter was exceptional. We finished with the carrot cake to share and was also a deliciously prepared menu item. The drinks were strong and perfect. Our waiter was so fun and personable. Cannot wait to visit again.

The Kingstide completely delivered on its promise of fresh, coastal-inspired cuisine with a view. Service was excellent throughout the meal. I started with the Fried Calamari, perfectly crispy and paired with a tangy caper aioli. The Blackened Grouper over creamy Marsh Hen Mill grits in a shiitake tomato butter was a standout--rich, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The Lobster Pasta was indulgent and incredibly well-balanced. For dessert, the Carrot Cake was the perfect finish: moist layers, cream cheese frosting, and a crunchy spiced topping that added just the right texture. Whether you're visiting Charleston or a local looking for a special night out, The Kingstide is a must-try.

This was hands down the best overall dining experience my wife and I have ever had. Not only was the food excellent, but we mentioned in our reservation that it was for our baby moon. Our servers Monica and Zoe printed custom baby moon menus for us and made excellent menu recommendations based on what my wife could eat. The service was next level, and the food was as well! Highly recommend for a special night out. They let us take our menus home to frame them in the nursery too!

See the pieces beside the fork?

Ambiance - good Service - good Food - $35 for a lobster roll that you have to pull shell out of? Disappointing.

We went to Kingstide and had such a great experience. We ordered the Lowtide to start with shrimp cocktail, oysters, clams, and crab. It was well worth it and honestly pretty filling for two people. My favorite part was the crab dip, it was delicious. We followed it with the fish sliders and the duck agnolotti, which ended up being the perfect amount of food. The sliders were simple but really good, and the duck pasta was so nice and slightly sweet. It paired really well with the mushrooms and felt super comforting. The interior is beautiful and the staff was really kind and welcoming. We went at night during the winter so it was cold, but the view was still really pretty. I would love to come back during the daytime to see it in the light. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and definitely worth a visit.

I have now patroned this restaurant twice with my parents and both times have been equally as wonderful. Located on Daniel Island it boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, wonderful water views, and even has boat club docking for those fortunate to arrive via waterway. Named for the Coastal grandest high tide the Lowcountry experiences, is also the inspiration of the interior and seasonally changing menu. Both visits we were greeted by friendly hostesses, our servers were very knowledgeable about the menu, had great suggestions, and especially inquired about food, allergies in a very nonjudgmental, and accommodating manner. Further, any time a prepared dish was brought to the table, whoever brought it mentioned the preparation being careful of the food restrictions we listed which shows how seriously they prioritize accommodations. On that same topic, my mother has mobility restrictions and there were multiple handicap parking, a ramp or 3 stairs to the entrance, and an elevator to reach the second story. For those without mobility restrictions, there is easy parking. Just passed the entrance and very easily walkable for able-boddied. I started with a Kingside cosmo to drink, and we shared the Fish Sliders(2) pickled pepper tartar, Hawaiian roll. Note the pickled pepper tartar is the sauce (not to be confused with tartare fish). I ordered a Caesar salad with parmesan, boquerones, bread crumbs, cured yolk with steak added for my protein. My parents are typically hard to please and often critical but both thoroughly enjoyed splitting the Cesar salad and SNAPPER over butter bean succotash, grilled zucchini. We ended the meal splitting the delightful KINGSTIDE CRUNCH BAR with Nutella and chocolate and the consistency of mousse, cornflake crust and garnish, plated with vanilla ice cream. Zero complaints, plentiful compliments.

This experience had high highs and low lows. It truly is a beautiful space and the walking trail out front allowed for us to do a scenic walk before our meal. The second floor is first come first serve and more of a bar vibe. We went on a Wednesday and were the first ones in the restaurant yet somehow had the worst service I've ever had in Charleston. Our server was nonexistent and difficult to find despite the restaurant not being full. Our plates were never once cleared and we had to seek him out multiple times. He never fired our dessert so we waited nearly 20 minutes for it to come out. We started with the hush puppies which were genuinely bad. If they didn't have the butter they'd be inedible. For our starters we got the Caesar salad and tuna tartar. The Caesar was one of the best I've had but the tuna lacked flavor. For our entrees we did the short rib, fish and a Caesar add chicken. The short rib and fish were very flavorful and yummy but the chicken on the Caesar salad was the taste, texture and aesthetic of concession stand chicken. A very odd surprise especially given we assumed it would be grilled chicken when ordered. We ended our meal with the carrot cake and apple tart. The apple tart was burnt which was unfortunate. If we had not waited 20 minutes for it to come out we would have probably sent it back and asked for a retry because the flavors were there. The carrot cake was a large slice but slightly bland. All in all, a lot of work to be done. There were definitely redeemable qualities with some of the order but I would not go back for service alone.

Dining at The Kingstide was a lovely blend of waterfront ambiance and thoughtfully prepared food and my recent dinner featuring the Caesar salad and calamari captured that spirit perfectly.

I was also touched that the culinary team was kind enough to sign a birthday card for me. Our table also received complimentary cacio e pepe popcorn to snack on--yum! For appetizers, we got the tuna tar tar (Crudo di Tonno), the strawberry caprese salad, and some shrimp--all so delicious, that they FLEW off the plate! Let me just start by saying what an incredible experience dinner was, and I say experience because…read morethat is exactly what it is, an experience in food and family. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect other than 8 courses and a 3 hour dining experience. Every detail had to be meticulously labored over. From the named place cards with your menu for the evening tucked inside sealed by a wax stamp (very nice touch) to the hand crafted mocktails (we went non alcoholic) there was not a single detail left out. Dinner started promptly at 7 and prior to every dish the chef came out of the kitchen and explained what is in the dish, where the ingredients were sourced from, how they were cooked and plated. Followed by the sommelier explaining the wine pairing, the region the grapes were grown in, what to expect while tasting the wine, and why it pairs nicely with the dish. Honeysuckle rose also catered to my food allergy and substituted my dish with something exceptional while my wife had what was initially planned (the quail). We have been to other multi course restaurants only to feel rushed so they could get another table opened. With Honeysuckle Rose everything is timed, we all get our plates at the same time, and the experience finishes at the same time. The evening closed out with the staff talking about how grateful they are of eachother and for all of their guests. This is a very quaint place, seating only about 20 people and it is only 1 service per night. The setting is very intimate and the music choice playing in the background was given much thought, very tasteful and appropriate. This is also a prepurchase meal and gratuity is included, I offered additional gratuity and was politely refused. There was not a single plate of food or drink that we did not thoroughly enjoy. Quite honestly the $500 price tag on this dinner was an easy price to pay for all you get. We got the chef's experience (seating at the bar top overlooking the kitchen). We were able to interact with chef River And chef Sky. I would strongly suggest getting the chef's experience, it's the same price wether sitting in the dining room or at the bar area (only 4seats). If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, where every detail has been meticulously dialed in, and the food is second to none I would suggest honeysuckle rose. We enjoyed our time there so much we will definitely be back very soon. Job well done HR!!

Brace yourselves--this is going to be a long one, because this experience deserves every bit of it…read more We recently had the opportunity to do a chef's tasting at Honeysuckle Rose, and from the very first interaction, it was clear this wasn't going to be your average night out. We had a bit of a hiccup to start--we couldn't find our gift card (of course). I called and spoke with Kelleanne, and I have to say, this is truly where the experience began. She was warm, understanding, and genuinely funny, turning what could have been a stressful moment into something easy and even enjoyable. She handled everything with kindness and grace, and it set the tone for the evening ahead. A couple of days before our reservation, we received a confirmation call from James--but not the typical kind. He asked thoughtful, personal questions: who my guest would be, our water preferences (yes, really), allergies, absolute no-go foods, and even a song that held meaning to us. At that point, our curiosity was fully piqued. When we arrived, the space immediately stands out. It's very dark--blacked-out windows, black walls, black ceiling--and it's all completely intentional. Before the meal began, Kelleanne explained that the goal is to create an intimate dinner party atmosphere, where you forget the outside world and fully immerse yourself in the experience. And it works. It really works. At your seat, you're given what feels like an invitation--that's your menu for the evening. Each course is introduced by chef River and sommelier Mary Kate, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to every dish. I won't go course-by-course (we'd be here all night), but just know: every single one was worthy of praise. Chef River is absolutely crushing it. We were lucky enough to sit at the chef's counter, which I highly recommend if you can swing it. Watching chefs River, Ryan, and Trae work was like witnessing a perfectly choreographed performance. After each course, every surface was meticulously cleaned--counters wiped, stoves reset--everything returned to pristine condition before the next dish began. It was as impressive as the food itself. And it doesn't stop there. You notice Cody in the back, carefully polishing each glass and plate to perfection. Every single person on the team is fully invested in making this an extraordinary experience--and that's exactly what it is. What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the personal touches. Maybe you get an extra bite, a meaningful story from Mary Kate, or a surprise dessert to celebrate something special. There's an element of the unexpected that makes the evening feel uniquely yours. We left completely blown away. Not just by the food, but by the people. Kelleanne and Ryan are the kind of individuals you genuinely enjoy watching succeed--they bring something special to the entire experience. And a quick note for those who notice the details (like I do): even the bathroom is stunning--beautifully designed and just as intentional as everything else in the space. If you're looking for something truly different, immersive, and unforgettable--this is it. Don't think twice. Book the reservation. We'll absolutely be back, and we're already looking forward to exploring their other concepts.

There's a "regular" Old Fashioned and options to "elevate," which significantly increases the price. Laid-back, great music, plenty of space, and a really cool rock-and-roll garage aesthetic. You can tell the staff enjoys being there, which makes a huge difference. And I have to mention the drinks. The dirty sodas, especially the vanilla Coke, are dangerously good. The kind of thing you could absolutely get hooked on. And somehow, on top of all that, the prices are more than fair.
