Great spot for brunch! Food is decently priced and delicious. Service is good and they offer indoor and outdoor seating with great views of Shem creek!

Came here on a very rainy Saturday with my husband before dinner. It was pretty slow , so we got sat right away. The restaurant inside is really nice, we got sat by the creek view, so we got to see all the action. Our server came pretty fast as well to take our order. I ordered the cesear salad with fried chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The cesear salad was good, dressing was creamy..I just wish they added more of it. Chicken was fried nicely and juicy. The sweet potato fries were crisp and not soggy which is always a plus. My one complaint about the service is that our table didn't get bread, every other table around us got bread. I didn't realize until we were almost done with our meal though. My husband got shrimp and fries, it was kind of pricey for a lunch and just okay. Nothing super amazing. It was nice to sit inside and get a view with it raining though. I will also say the cole slaw was really good...I know that's random. Not sure if we would come back, we may if we are bored with the other restaurants.

Great meal today! Our BnB host recommended this place, and we're so glad she did. Our server Amy gave us solid guidance on the menu, and we tried the Ahi Tuna salad (she was right about the salad dressing, yum), and Cubano (served with mojo sauce on the side like a French Dip, and they don't skimp on the pickles). Starters were oysters (we got the brinier option, from Canada, and they were fine. But I'm picky about my oysters) and Bang Bang Shrimp (husband says they are the best he's ever had. Very smart wine list (Merry Edwards, Paul Hobbs) that is fairly priced. And I know this seems like minutiae but I really liked their iced tea. We haven't seen them yet, but Amy says the dolphins come up the creek and hang out right outside the restaurant.

Such a good experience! The appetizers were delicious, our waitress was attentive, and the food came-- for the most part-- in a timely manner. Water's Edge has a great atmosphere with even better views. Would 100% return.

Delicious luncheon on Shem Creek at Water's Edge Restaurant in Mt Pleasant SC with my beau, Marc Cardinal. I give our experience 5s for food, service, and ambiance!

Overlooking the bustling water, this Shem Creek classic offers consistently good food and service at a relatively good value. We have dined there many times. We brought some visitors from out of town that enjoyed the experience and food. There is a good variety on the menu. We were promptly seated for our reservation by a kind host. Our server greeted us and provided drinks in a timely manner. We had a variety of appetizers. For dinner the shrimp & grits is excellent (benchmark against all of the local restaurants). The crab cake dinner is tasty with plentiful crab. The Shrimp scampi was a healthy portion and a solid choice. My mother enjoyed the fried shrimp dinner that was crispy with sweet potato fries. The server was hard working and friendly, but stretched between at least 3 large parties. While the interior may be somewhat dated, the experience on the water and consistently very good food makes this an excellent option. It is a solid -4- that is a good value and consistent. There are lots of options around Shem Creek - Water's Edge provides a predictable, good experience.

Our server was great. We went for dinner. The views were amazing as dolphins kept going up and down. Great local beer selection. As appetizer, we had the boom boom shrimp. Not very spicy but delicious. For entree we had the red snapper special. Delicious!!!

What a great place this is and they have great seating options. We went on a Friday evening after making reservations earlier in the day. The hostesses were very professional, even though being approached from all sides they remained calm and gracious. Our food was amazing, we weren't rush at all and enjoyed our evening thoroughly. Even ordered some desserts.

The food was incredible, and one of the things that really stands out is that they actually have a Lowcountry boil on their regular menu, which you surprisingly do not see that often around Charleston. It is a great option if you want something classic and shareable for the table. The location is also a big part of the experience. You are right on the marsh at Shem Creek, and if you time it around sunset the views are awesome. It is one of those places where you can just sit back, enjoy the scenery, and take your time with the meal. Service was really good and the staff kept everything moving smoothly even though it was busy. Only thing to know ahead of time is that parking can be a little tricky, especially during peak hours since the spots fill up quickly. Just give yourself a little extra time. Overall, a really fun spot with great food, beautiful views, and a perfect place to celebrate with a group. Would definitely go back.

I ordered the happy hour wings and was honestly disappointed. The portion was barely a serving, and they didn't even toss the wings, just fried them and dumped a heavy amount of seasoning on top. No balance at all. I also had the crab cake sandwich with waffle fries. The sandwich itself was good, but the fries were just okay at best. A lot of them were so hard you couldn't even bite into them, which was frustrating. Another downside was the pricing. I didn't like that they charge different prices for cash vs. card. Being charged extra just for using a card feels outdated and should be clearly stated beforehand. Overall, some things were decent, but between the small portions, poorly prepared sides, and the card fee, I probably wouldn't rush back

Considering how tricky parking can be in this area, I knew we were off to a great start!  The meal certainly did not disappoint. We ordered the "Diver Scallops" and the "Grilled Swordfish," both of which were absolutely delicious. I opted for the 8 oz portion, and while the 4 oz might have sufficed, the larger serving truly hit the spot.  To complement the stunning creekside views, where boaters casually drifted by, we indulged in a cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect finish to an already incredible dining experience.  I'm already looking forward to returning soon!

Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Given no chance to explain that I did not order or receive any of the extra drinks on my tab, and no chance to reason with anyone who had the decency to listen. The story is as follows: I had accidentally left my credit card upstairs with the bartender after I opened a tab, and then moved downstairs for a table reservation. After dinner, I realized this had happened and asked the bouncer if I could go back upstairs to collect my card and close my tab (moving past a line to do so). I waited about 3 minutes to speak with the bartender upstairs, which is not an unreasonable amount of time, and as I was closing I was tapped on the shoulder by a bouncer and told I was "taking too long", and that I "had to go". Mind you I was still in good standing prior to this interaction. I was then escorted downstairs to where my family was sitting, and still nobody had the thought that maybe I was telling the truth and actually did have a table downstairs, even as it was right in front of them... Not only this, but Reds also does not have a working customer support email. It was such disturbing treatment of a paying and respectful customer. Both overcharging and removing my group without any explanation. Safe to say I won't be returning to this poorly run establishment.

We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated quickly at our table of three. The restaurant wasn't overly busy when we arrived. Unfortunately, the service went downhill from there. Our waitress seemed annoyed to be there and acted like we were inconveniencing her the entire meal. We watched several tables that arrived and ordered after us receive their food before we did. Ironically, the hostess who originally seated us ended up bringing our food and refilling our drinks. She was friendly and attentive throughout the night and honestly did more for our table than our actual waitress. I ordered the seafood platter. It was plenty of food. It was pretty good, but not great. The seafood wasn't over-fried, but overall the meal could have used more seasoning and flavor. The experience really fell apart at the end. We had to ask multiple times for our check before finally standing near the register waiting to pay. During that process, our waitress made several backhanded comments that left a bad impression. This restaurant came highly recommended, and while the location and atmosphere were enjoyable, the service ultimately overshadowed the meal. I don't think we'll be back.
