The other provider charged $257 in an unsuccessful attempt to clear the drain, then gave the full quote, saying there was no other way to fix the clog and they could start the work immediately. I naively assumed the work needed to be done, but wisely hit pause on starting the work. The price was too crazy. I reached out to my synogogue communication list and 3 different people recommended Palo Alto Plumbing and suggested that perhaps I was being bamboozeld. They were right. I think it was Moe who came out the next day. He assured us right away that even if the pipes needed replacing it would only cost $4K, which helped set my mind at ease. A little over an hour later he had the clog cleared for $210. I suddenly felt rich. Moe made me feel a little less dumb as he told me big plumbing companies employee commission salespeople with limited plumbing skills. These people are quite slick, appear very sincere and knowledgeable, and many folks fall for it. Moe said "we want a customer for life" and now Palo Alto Plumbing has one. In addition, he was hilarious which made a stressful situation much less stressful. It's a family owned business and he told me his son was going to be a plumber. I said, "wow! how old is your son?" "He's two". Honestly -- I wouldn't be surprised! Very pleased with service and of course I'll call them again...hopefully no time soon!!!

I called Palo Alto plumbing explaining clearly that I had a defective Air conditioner and that the…read morecompressor outside wasn't working. I was told to pay an extra $100 since it was considered off hours despite the fact it was only 4pm. After suffering 3 nights without AC I succumbed and agreed to pay the extra fee. Technician despatched told me that a can capacitor had failed and replaced it. Next he checked the voltage on the disconnect box and it measured 205v and he then told me that my compressor needed 220v and it wouldn't work. Was forced to get an electrician and my city electrical utilities emergency despatch who confirmed that the delta Y configuration delivered 205v. Palo Alto plumbing categorically told me that my unit could only work at 220v and when I checked the condenser label, it clearly gave a range from 205-220v. After another night of agony without AC, I was forced to call another HVAC company Onzone heating who added a hard start kit for older compressors and got it working in less than 20minutes. I am disappointed that Palo Alto plumbing just collected their service fee and left me hanging and moral of the story is ensure your HVAC company can't just point fingers at power supply (when label on my compressor clearly said 208-220v) and should have an electrical technician to not leave customers dealing with multiple companies to solve one problem - get their air conditioning to work

He has truly fixed everything, from filling/painting the walls after I had all my windows replaced, to renovating and painting my patio, to reconfiguring multiple closets, replacing my smoke detectors with modern 10-year models, fixed toilets, hung curtain rods, assembling a new bed frame...basically anything I've ever asked him to do. Perhaps that is the right way to answer and qualify people but it just felt bad as there was no discussion about my project ... so I politely said thank you and left. What she didn't know is that I drive a G-Wagon and my project is probably worth $500K, at least that is what I have budgeted for.  They are probably a luxury builder and to be fair I never got to talk anyone else but whoever owns that place should teach their employees how to talk to prospects

His bid was in line with the decking companies I had already contacted, so once I knew he had the time to take it on I knew I had to go with him. We went with Greenberg because they knew how to do modern houses and how to deal with the City. We went from horrible hideous uninsulated shack to a gorgeous gem where we can Age in Place! Every single person who has walked in says, "WOW! It's beautiful! It's incredible what you guys have done!" We have friends & professionals who have built/renovated many houses all exclaim what a high-end luxe job this was! We could not have done this without Greenberg. In particular, we worked with the wonderful Ohad Sherion throughout the process who managed all the subs, city departments involved, neighbors, vendors, etc. Our attention was elsewhere as we were very busy with our work, caring for our elders, so it was invaluable that Ohad kept us up-to-date throughout the process. Ohad was able to make our wishes come true, including bathrooms with custom tiles that were no longer available--so he found us an artisan who recreated them by hand. To make the small space look and feel spacious, we went with an open concept which left few walls to hang art. From the beginning, we worked with Ohad to create a design to showcase our art collection. Ohad is persistent and works to get projects not only functional but beautiful. For example, we have a unique front door which needed to be tweaked and he patiently worked with subs to make it happen. Just moved into my house and am just floored by the incredible work done by the team at Greenberg!…read moreI was originally skeptical of such a major remodel - every friend had horror stories of contactors doing sub par work, disappearing, completely, etc. I was really glad to work with Ohad, our project manager for the project. He'd worked with one of our friends previously, and so we knew he'd do a great job for our project. We also loved Greenberg's integrated approach. The architect, constructions, design and management was all done by Greenberg. This meant that the project from top to bottom was aligned with the team actually doing the construction work. My top priorities were 1) a modern home design 2) a job done with high quality 3) low stress. Ohad / Greenberg helped deliver on all of these aspects in spades. The last thing I wanted to do was have to coordinate with flaky contractors, have to re-do low quality work after a long day at work. Ohad kept the project on track and handled all the hassle of dealing with subcontractors & inspectors. Greenberg probably won't be the cheapest contractor you'll talk to, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Quality work, up to code, and no drama is well worth the cost. Ohad worked with us throughout the project to consider different budget options, and gave candid advice about where he thought the budget would be best spent. Overall, highly recommend. I was referred by a friend and have put multiple friends in touch with Greenberg for their projects as well. The owner Jason is responsible, accountable, and most importantly he shows up when he say he will. And it may sound archaic but he actually calls you back, such a simple thing, but it's a rare quality these days. They do great work, and they are insanely fast, and when you're behind schedule I cannot stress how important that is! His guys are incredibly efficient and got our 3200 square foot home sheet rocked in just over a day, that's insane and incredible all at the same time. To say I'm particular is a dramatic understatement. The owner was great about helping me understand the process and level setting my expectations. We did an old world hand troweled texture inside our home that is stunning, and don't even get me started about the old school plaster that he did on our concrete basement walls that only a true craftsman could accomplish. They were rough to say the least and they are spectacular now, I wanted to keep the "rustic character" of our vintage concrete basement walls, they are truly a work of art now, Jason didn't put boring smooth or orange peel nastiness plaster on the walls, oh no, he somehow made the character and history come to life and have a new chapter In it's story, he gave it the charm it always should have had. Even my mother in law was impressed. I never expected the "man cave" to look this good. I may have to evict the hubs now, lol. I couldn't be more pleased. They did our stucco too, and I was very specific about how I wanted that to look as well, they did not disappoint. The owner outsources most of the work to guys that I couldn't talk to (due to a language barrier), Which lead to my questions going unanswered and some of the work not being done as I had original told the owner. I'd advise to scroll down to the next stucco contractor instead of this poorly run company. Getting some references might also help you to avoid some unnecessary headaches.
