We had a great experience working with Tim and his team! We were moving our family into a new house and didn't want to remodel the entire kitchen, but we wanted a farmhouse sink. Based on my research I had figured it would not be possible without removing the existing granite and possibly the cabinets too. Tim assessed the situation and said his crew could do it! Fast forward to today and it looks beautiful! He had to install a strip of granite in the gap where the old double basin sink was (since Farmhouse sink comes out past the edge of the counter) and it looks nearly seamless. They came in a little below budget and on time. The work was great and the workers were pleasant to be around. I miss them. They were also creative -- fixing things that seemed almost unfixable. I met Tim through the local sporting community and he was always willing to share his experience and advice on construction matters without ever expecting anything in return. Years later, we needed a shower restored and remodeled - but it was a pretty difficult job. We have a 40 year old Eichler and needed care taken to preserve much of the original tiling as well as blend it in with some new tiles to complete the job. Tim was meticulous, he took on the work and he and I began an adventure in hunting down matching/complementary tiles and working out how to bring our sunken shower back to life. We found this contractor and all the "stars" on Yelp, but I am sorry to have to show a different side of this company. We were pretty disappointed with the overall quality of their work. All the sub contractors had to return to "fix' problems. The owner is very friendly and gave us a very fair quote The problems arose when we needed specific small jobs repaired, that they had done, and also small jobs finished, when they had a new job to start elsewhere So sad. Tried for weeks to get communication from them. Never returned any message. So we are having to hire a new contractor to finish their work. If they don't come when they say they will - the first time- be prepared for it always to happen that way. read more

Got a random call today from this company's phone number very polite at first asking me if I needed a remodel or anything big or little done to my house and since I said no I got hung up on so with that being said I think whoever runs that place is a jerk and the people who has calling is a jerk as well could've at least said goodbye for Robo calling me!!! I will omit my company's name in order to only give credit to The Kitchen and Bath Co of Palo Alto. The professionalism that I have observed in the way Tim manages the project and his enthusiasm in which he involves and engages the homeowner is commendable. I, as a contractor have learned and benefitted greatly from my experience with Tim. Tim is a perfectionist and does not or allow any of his subs to cut any corners. I would like to give still another perspective on Tim's character and abilities. Basically, Tim rescued us. We have an 80 year old home, have lived in it for 30 years and have never remodeled. We had hired another contractor who said we didn't need permits for a bathroom remodel. Ha! We became concerned that the shower was not being done to code, questioned him, and he walked off the job. We were so distressed we just closed the door for 6 months. No one wants to take on someone else's mess, but Tim came and outlined the potential process and solely interacted with the city inspector. We we told to rip out the shower - down to the 2x4s. But thanks to Tim, we didn't have to tear out the entire bathroom. It was excruciating to completely demolish the new marble shower, and there when many stressful, nail-biting times for all of us - but Tim stayed the course and skillfully interacted with the city and all subcontracors with integrity, respect and even humor! Unlike our previous experience where we were intimidated and bullied by the contractor, we actually looked forward to seeing Tim and his subs each day. Like all experiences, you also get back what you put in. No one is a mind reader - even if as capable and professional as Tim - so do yourself a favor and write down design details, materials, sources, expectations, etc. Tim will absolutely go out of his way to get you exactly what you want or help you decide if you are not clear! We consider Tim now to not be our contractor, but a family friend. Our only problem? The bathroom is so exquisitely beautiful, we don't want to use it!
