Wife took me to this New spot for us. Walking in small business cook in open waitress very welcoming. Nice place for party of 4 or less. The negatives; some food sat on the counter for minutes. Not ours. You must have to come early to get everything. They were out of oranges for fresh squeezed orange juice and out of avocado for the California omelette. So I got the ultimate. Everything was cooked good the omelette had little flavor (had to get generous with Frank's) and all toppings were on top and skimpy for $11. Wife's breakfast was good. You get a rumble from orange theory next door. Wife had a very good experience 1st time. We got out of there under $30 for two. The waitress had a great personality but had a helper that was no help at all. I would have to try again just to see if this is a one off experience but for now average at best. read more

Heard this place was good and let me tell ya, walked in and was pleasantly greeted, our server came over and introduced herself and was very nice. Food came out fresh, quickly, and hot. Was amazed at the amount of food that came with the "Big Breakfast" ($16.00) SOOOO worth it!!! Two REAL sausage links, 2 pieces of REAL bacon, one big slice of Country Ham, eggs, toast, 3 HUGE pancakes (made from scratch), and their potatoes are probably the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Also we got the Eggs Benedict and Tanya said the Hollandaise sauce was the best she's ever had. Food was decent. Ordered the veggie omelette with potatoes on the side. Potatoes never arrived and we weren't charged. The omelette was huge when it arrived so I decided not to say anything. It was cheese and full of spinach which for me is good. Husband ordered the eggs Benedict. He had a choice of asparagus or potatoes. He went with the asparagus. He said it was good yet it wasn't enough for him so I gave him a third of my omelette. There is an up charge for other items. My omelette came with nothing. So if your used to omelettes coming with toast and potatoes there are uncharges. The place vibrates because of the fitness center next door. It's not the restaurants fault. When we tried this place a year or more ago I really enjoyed it and was able to overlook the vibration from the fitness center next door. In fact I made a joke that it would help with digestion. The latest visit we made was not nearly as enjoyable. Here's the good: Their menu is one of the most unique I have ever seen for breakfast. I wanted to try every item they had. The quality of the food is still good. The not so good: They are short on staff so the service has degraded from our previous visit, which unfortunately leaves more time to dwell on the vibration coming from the business next door. When we entered this second time I sensed something was off immediately because there were very few patrons, which was not the case when e we first tried it. Of course you can't make a judgement solely on that (I told myself), so we proceeded to take a seat and order. Again, the quality of the food is still good but there were other factors regarding the service that forced my rating to drop. The owner/host/server was very apologetic about the service and offered us to-go coffees, which was a nice gesture. We declined, said no thank you, paid and left. The menu they list online, the menu at the restaurant and what you actually receive are not at all the same. It was our first time there on a Saturday for brunch, and it was disappointing. The salads listed one type of lettuce with certain ingredients and came out as iceberg with only part of the ingredients listed. They offer a soup and salad combo, but the server said they haven't offered soup in over a year. And the omelet I ordered seemed like it was made hours earlier and heated up in a microwave. It was dry, flavorless and inedible. They need to update their online menu, as well as their actual menu and stick to it when making the meals or at least inform customers in some way. My husband and I have been here two times previously and both times I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was incredible on my previous visits. Despite the vibration we felt our entire visit this past Sunday from the Orange gym next door, our waitress made it bearable. She joked about it and we laughed with her. Her service was perfect - so much so that we gave her 30% gratuity. I ordered a chicken and waffles to go. When I pulled the chicken and waffles out to warm up as our dinner, I about died. The to-go package had a waffle with two generic chicken fingers (comparable to frozen generic chicken tenders). I was completely disappointed. I hadn't looked at the to-go prior to leaving so my bad. We are willing to eat at this establishment but will avoid getting anything to go. My veggie omelet was excellent and my husbands breakfast also. Our waitress was attentive and had a great demeanor. My first visit to The Kitchen was favorable yet interesting. On Tue., 7/12 I arrived @ 12 noon & was promptly greeted/seated. There were several other patrons already dining in this smaller sized dining room. Parties of 4+ will have difficulty being accommodated. The decor is nice & I had no issues with the cleanliness of the front of the house. The Kitchen has a standard diner breakfast/lunch menu. Being one to take advantage of brunch, I ordered two eggs over medium, bacon, potatoes, & homemade rye toast. All were properly prepared & tasted excellent. The price point in our (at present) inflation ravaged economy was very reasonable. Here is the interesting part of my visit and it is in no way the fault of The Kitchen. After being seated, I seriously thought we were having an earthquake! It turns out that the OrangeTheory Fitness Center next door has people running on treadmills which causes the floor to shake considerably. I'm talking "Can this be structurally safe for the building if it occurs on a regular basis?" Maybe Californians will feel at home but the experience for me was distracting. .......... Be aware... terrible service! The first thing you see on the door is the face Covering for customer is mandatory. So why are the employees not wearing masks, or just having them on their ears? Then, the first thing the waitress told us when we got our table is that her coworker was slow and not organized as she was in training. That was not nice of her. Then each time you asked something (coffee refill, water,...) it took a really long time, and the place was not full at all. I had to ask for my coffee cup to be refilled, for jelly, for silverware, the avocado that was supposed to come on my omelette but was missing, etc. Our food took FOREVER to come out. The place is a bit loud and the floor does vibrate with the workout classes next door. Our table rocked as it was to large for the base. There were many take out orders going out. Maybe this is a better place to do take out rather than dine in. They're going to need to improve the dine in service. First, train your servers. They're super kind, but unaware of how to take care of guests' needs. The portions are huge, the taste is excellent. The lady that cooked that day was Linda . Linda was very attentive as was my server Alivia. She never got a rag and wiped down the table. I got the corned beef Benedict's with a side of bacon. There was not enough corn beef to cover the English muffin. The hollandaise sauce was so runny it ran off the eggs onto the plate. It came with hash browns. The potatoes were crisp on one side while being undercooked and starchy through out. This is such a great addition to the Mentor area. They call themselves "All Day Brunch". What a cool concept. The food is exceptionally good and the prices are very reasonable. Our bill was $18.75 for 2 meals and coffee. I ordered the corned beef benny and my dining companion got the bacon, egg, and avocado on a toasted bagel. Both meals came with perfectly cooked cubed potatoes. My meal was delicious. Corned beef is such a good idea for eggs Benedict. Why didn't I think of that? Lol instead of the traditional poached eggs, the chef uses sunny-side up. I highly recommend dining here and I can't wait to try some of their lunch options. However, I have to warn you, Orangetheory Fitness is next door. When they get going, it feels as if a freight train is passing by. The floor and tables shake on and off. Start with caramelized banana French toast: it was a regular French toast with fresh banana on the top and few drizzles of caramel. What happened to caramelized banana? Omelette came out ok, there was NO seasoning in the omelette at all! Corned beef hash was described as hand pulled corned beef.... In reality it was thinly sliced deli style corned beef. Not sure what was hand pulled... Corned beef Eggs Benedict: corned beef was delivered sliced and instead of a poached eggs it came it with a sunny side up and hollandaise sauce on top... Disappointed... First thing I noticed is the annoying VIBRATING of what feels like the entire restaurant. Orange Theory, right next door, has classes going on with exercise equipment. It causes a vibrating of almost the entire Kitchen restaurant which almost gave me motion sickness. First, the Craft French Toast was okay - but they didn't give us any syrup to go with it. Strike one. Second, the avocado used in the B.A.E. sandwich had already started to brown giving it a bitter olive taste - yuck. A better avocado should have been used. More attention-to-detail on the part of the cook would help this. Strike two. Third, the potatoes were undercooked, semi-raw which is again, due to lack of attention-to-detail, and a less than thorough cooking process. Strike three. Lastly, for the Craft French toast, the B.A.E., and an extra bagel, the cost was almost $20.00...!!! I don't feel that these people take pride in their work and try to turn out meals as quickly and cheaply as possible, cutting corners and sacrificing quality. And overpriced. The menu is Breakfast (ie Omletts and Pancakes) and Lunch (ie Burgers and Sandwiches) I am particularly a fan of the Irish themed Dublin Omelette, which features corn beef hash. The service is very quick although on one particular occasion it was busy and food came a bit slower than I would say is ideal. But overall this is a great little place.
