First impression was deceiving. Upon first view (see pics) We thought this would be a great breakfast! Ordered banana french toast with side of bacon (asked for crispy as i loathe bacon that is cooked any other way) and a western omelet with tomato added. Pros: portions were huge; sauce on french toast was delicious Cons: bacon "looked" crispy but it was only that way on half. Most of it was undercooked with chewy texture and therefore was inedible. Asked for tomatoes in the omelet...see pic. That tiny thing was the only one included in the omelet. Sausage inside of omelet was still raw inside. INEDIBLE. It ended up being tossed. French toast was very bland and had no flavor on its own. I see why it needed the sauce. I wont get food from here again. read more

First time going to The Kitchen, because my wife and I wanted to try something different for brunch, and I am glad we did. The service was excellent, and the food was just great. I ordered the B.A.E. (Bacon, avocado, egg, tomato and cheddar cheese served on a bagel accompanied with potatoes.). The sandwich was really really good. The combination of flavors were something spectacular. My wife had the Triple Melt sandwich ( Ham, turkey, bacon, Swiss and Cheddar cheeses , grilled onion, tomato, and Mayo served on toast, served with chips. My wife just raved about the sandwich. I know it's crazy to rave about sandwiches, but they were that good. We will definitely be coming back. read more

We were seated right away (that should have been a sign on a Sunday Morning). It took an hour to get our food. When we did it was cold. They seem to put a priority on the takeout/door dash customers instead of the ones seated in their restaurant. One guest got up and left also due to have waited 45 minutes with no food. Perhaps they should be either dine- in only or take out only. They do not seem to have the ability to do both. Unfortunate because the menu looks to have potential. read more

We much rather spend our money at local family owned businesses. We live pretty close and I recently read about this place so we had to give it a try. My husband had the Sausage Gravy Biscuit Breakfast. He said it was good. Crumbled sausage would have been better than cut up links and it was lacking just a bit in flavor. The biscuits were very good. I had the Bagel Cooks Sandwich. It has avocado, cream cheese, a hard cooked egg and sausage. It was really really tasty. The bald guy cooking was a hoot. Very welcoming and very friendly. We will for sure come back. read more

I don't know where to start. This is our second trip in but this time our experience was totally opposite our first. There was a staff of one. She did it all. I ordered the Very Veggie Panini which was arugula, tomato, red onion, cucumber and avocado with a basil pesto spread on italian. A strong white onion was used and there was no cucumber or avocado. I expected it to be pressed and warm but was told this is the way they make theirs. My husband ordered the Big BLT which had a significant amount of bacon on it but very little mayo and the half he brought home had a tomato the size of a fifty cent piece. The table we were sat at must have been occupied by a child before us as floor was filthy. A 12 ounce beverage is $2.85 but we were asked if we wanted a refill so I am assuming they are free flowing. This is my last review for this place as I will not be back, nor will I recommend it. read more

Another great visit! Finally tried the stuffed French toast and it was so good! Thick slices of French toast with a layer of marscapone and fresh raspberries and blueberries in the middle and on top. Its so nice to see quality fresh ingredients like this. My daughter and I went on a Wednesday morning and took advantage of the weekday early specials by ordering the Plains Special (2 eggs, two thick slices of toast made from fresh real bread, rosemary potatoes and a cup of coffee for less than $4). The food was ready quickly, everything was hot and delicious and service from the waitress was friendly and efficient. It was nice to have the chef ask how we enjoyed the meal...its a nice touch to know they care about the guest's experience. read more

Stopped here yesterday. Had been here before but the very strong coffee put me off. But I get it...people like Starbucks, so they have it. I came back because their menu is very different and I was in the mood for something really memorable for breakfast. I ordered the Biscuit n Gravy Skillet. I was looking forward to the sausage gravy. My skillet arrived with white gravy on it. I asked about that and the cook himself said there are 3 different "biscuit-n-gravy" items on the menu similar and he was sorry I didn't get the sausage gravy. He asked if I wanted some sausage and I opted for a side of bacon instead. The bacon was very good. Special, in fact. As I say, "memorable." I had a sweet tooth, so I packed up a third of this skillet for the hubby at home. I ordered the cinnamon french toast. Now here is a real find. They have crushed up "French Toast Crunch" cereal on top. So good and prepared so well. Took half that for hubby too, to encourage us to return soon. Gotta try more things on this menu! The omelettes sound truly unique. If you are a club sandwich fan, they have one. prices are normal. The atmosphere, casual and fun. The seating, uncomfortable but probably helps open up seats on busy mornings. Try it. read more

I went to The Kitchen for the first time today and it was amazing! Right when you walk in, you get a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. This is what a Brunch place needs to feel like. You're also able to see the cooks prepare the food showing they have nothing to hide to their customers. I did wait for my food for quite a bit, but that's because I came in after a party of bikers had come in, and there was only one waitress. Although it could have seemed chaotic to some people, the waitress was able to get everyone's orders, check people out, and still be able to stop at each table a few times to ensure that each customer was satisfied. When you look at the menu, it may seem overwhelming only because there is not one thing on that menu that didn't look good. The overwhelming part would be what to actually decide on. Another aspect of the menu that is great is the pricing! Everything is very affordable and this is the place to go if you want great service and to save some money. Once I finally decided on what to get, I ordered the special of Cassata Cakes and a side of Rosemary Potatoes. For a total of about $10, I was only able to finish under half of the pancakes because I received such a large amount! Definitely not a bad thing since I'll have it for dinner and maybe even a snack later. Overall, this is an amazing place for friends and family to get a bite to eat, and I know where I'll always be going when my girlfriend comes into town. read more

From the moment I walked in I could already tell it wasn't going to be a great experience. From what I was able to see only 2 people were working on a Sunday morning, multiple tables were left with scraps of food and we were forced to wait in a small area for over 10 minutes without being helped. I could only help but notice the DoorDashers that kept getting turned away as the food was not ready and the restaurant was very hectic. I hoped maybe after an all together 30 minute wait for the cheapest item on the menu I would at least be served something hot and fresh, this was not the case. The server rarely talked to us but rather at us and did not even give us menus until we were ready to order but did not even bother to ask us and instead set the menus down and walked away. read more

This is a great spot tucked away in Mentor On the Lake. The food is very good and the portions are huge. We have been here a couple times and both the waitress and cook went out of their way to make us feel at home. I definitely plan to go back and would highly recommend the Kitchen to anyone looking for great breakfast food. read more

Worst breakfast ever. Waited to long to be seated, waited to long to place drink order, waited to long for drinks and waited over 25 minutes for our food. My sunny side eggs were freezing cold, potatoes undercooked and bacon limp. Toast was good. Waited again and had to ask for the check. Paid cash and they had no change in the register. Overall, not impressed. Not kid friendly at all. They only have 1 booster seat, which was being used when we took our 2 year old there, so we had to attempt to keep him in a chair at a table that was too high for him. When I asked for a kid's menu, they also didn't have that available either. The waitress did offer to make him a pancake, which was nice, but it was the size of a dinner plate... WAY too big for a 2 year old, and not worth the price. The rest of our food all LOOKED good, but tasted less than average for the price. Good size portions and reasonable prices. It's a small place in a little shopping strip. Menu is extensive for such a small place. We all had difficulty deciding what to get.
