I was in the mood for a small snack and been wanting to try this place so I went for the $8 classic poutine. The portion is good for two people I shared it with my coworker and it left us satisfied. The gravy has flavor , the cheesy curds are yummy and the fries were nice and crispy towards the end they were a bit soggy but that's okay, I think you get your moneys worth. read more

My first time trying this restaurant. Yum! I ordered the leftover poutine (Thanksgiving leftovers) and it was delicious! French fries were topped with turkey, stuffing, fried onions, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and cheese curds. The turkey was very flavorful and everything else complemented it so well! This is obviously a seasonal item, I'll definitely be back to enjoy it before it goes away. I wish I'd taken a picture, but I dove in and didn't look back. read more

I just checked out The Hangar for the first time yesterday - I've been to similar sorts of fancy food halls elsewhere, though, so I thought I knew what I could expect, namely, really good food, but not a lot of it for the price. I looked around at all the offerings, then decided if I was going to get small portions, at least I could get small portions of two things I love but never thought to put together (chicken katsu curry, and poutine). Well, after about a 10 minute wait (but they give you a buzzer, so you can go have a beer on the other side of the Hangar - it extends far enough), I am happy to report, I was half-right: it *was* absolutely delicious... it was also freaking enormous. If you're really hungry, you can eat one whole order of poutine and be full. If you're only kinda hungry, like I was at the time, you can *try* to eat a whole order of it like I did, feel totally stuffed, and still throw away a little bit, or you could be smarter, and share an order with a friend. It was a lot of poutine. The chicken itself was a little bland (I'm used to a little bit more flavorful chicken katsu), but the curry makes up for that, and then the fantastic full-of-cheese poutine underneath makes up for it twice. And the fries are perfect poutine fries - crunchy outside, soft in the middle, and even an hour later (because I slowed down midway in, cause I got full), they weren't too soggy sitting in curry the whole time. First time here, asked Jgillin what he would recommend and he suggested the "Porchetta" so I ordered that. At initial first bite the bread was kind of cold, I believe it's suppose to be like that though... right ? I'm not sure to be honest but I was expecting it to be warm and soft. Think quality crispy fried potatoes, doused with shredded beef and gravy with chunks of cheese curds laced throughout. Or, you can get deep fried cheese curds with some spicy dipping sauce. I recently had the pleasure of trying these items here, along with their french dip, which in and of itself is worth the trip. Washed it all down with a magnificent DIPA from Alvarado street brewing sold at the Bottle craft beer bar located some 50 feet away. This place rocks, but know if you go during a busy trading period, there will be a long line. You can tell whcih places are the best by who has the longest line. The longest Lines at LBX are Kroft & Bottle Craft. No surprises there. read more

I love to try different comfort foods and this place is exceptional. My family and I had the cheese steak sandwich, porchetta sandwiches, cheese curds, and smash burgers. Everybody in our party enjoyed their food. I really like my smash burger and fries. My burger had the right amount of sear and browning. This burger had to rank on the top of all the smash burgers I tried. We will be back for sure to try other foods. read more

This will be my first ever review. I like to try a restaurant multiple times before I come to a conclusion on if I should recommend it or not. The first time was about 2 months ago. I ordered the cheese burger egg roll, country fried chicken sandwich and their "award winning" fries. The sandwich was ok. I would give it a 3 out of 5. The fries were served cold. Which I took back and they said they would give me another batch. Knowing we just got served cold fries instead of just making it fresh for us it looks like they just put fresh fries over our original cold fries. Because only the top layer was hot and crispy. The cheeseburger egg rolls were great on this visit. They were the perfect temperature,The wrap was crispy, the cheese was melted, and the flavor was on point. Today we went back to try the food again. The guy at the register wasnt very pleasant.This time I only purchased the cheeseburger egg rolls. Since I really liked it last time. After about 15 min I recieved the egg rolls...I took a bite and realized the center was ice cold...I get up and take them back to the counter to get a new batch. After I told them I was served cold egg rolls the lady behind the counter didnt say anything she just looked at me, took them from me, handed me a new alert buzzer and turned around. Never said sorry or anything. I shrugged it off and went to sit down and wait....again.... Since I was waiting for the second time it felt longer then the first time. So I decided to go stand and wait by the counter. I can hear the workers screaming back and forth for an update on the three egg rolls. Finally after about 10 min I get the new batch. She handed them to me and didnt say a word...I got back to my table and took another bite.......guess what ladies and gentlemen......it was cold in the center....agggaaiiin... Lucky for them I am not the type to cause a scene I just will never recommend or ever go back. I hope they take reviews as constructive criticism and try to improve. The second of these I've had, other one being at Anaheim packing house. The food is the same at both. I think the sandwiches are actually better than the poutine. Don't get me wrong; the poutine is really good by west coast standards (maybe Seattle as an exception). But the gravy is very thin and salty, so it's only a 4 and not 5 star; very minor complaint. But they are good to split if you also get a sandwich as they are big. read more

I'm sad! I got ripped off for paying $6 for a side of Brussels sprouts, which is my favorite dish, to only get like 10 half Brussels sprouts. Aside from that, this place def exceeded my expectations and I would def go and wait again for this deliciousness. The cheeseburger poutine was sooo good and perfectly done. Loved it. I also got the cucumber mint lemonade which was a bit too sweet for my liking but still delicious, I just added water to it when I got home. The poutine was $10 and a few bucks extra to add the egg. the kroft is located in the LBX hangar among the other foodie friendly spots. it's the very first spot on the left when you walk-in, which makes it hard to pass because the drooling menu will usually stop most people in their tracks, hence the reason you usually see a line of people waiting i heard the place was known for their sandwiches, but unfortunately i didn't have a huge appetite to try. but the chicken tikka massala fries were awesome. after we ordered, it only took like 3-5 minutes to get our food. if you order any of the fries, you probably need to share it with at least one or two other people because it's a lot to eat and plenty to share. unless you just want to eat fries for your whole meal, go ahead. anyway, the people were super friendly and the food was nice and hot. will be back again to try other items on the menu! read more

My wife and I decided to drive over and check out the new LBX Hangar yesterday (Sunday) morning. I grew up in Long Beach and was blown away at what they did with the old McDonnell Douglas / Airport property. What a nice development of this property. We arrived about 10 minutes before 11:00 am and everything was just starting to open. There are a few businesses that have not quite opened or finished moving in yet. The Kroft had their door open and what attracted me was this beautiful large piece of pork rolling around on a rotisserie with fat dripping off of it. It was a beautiful site. I was like a little kid with his face smudged against the window of a candy store. I should have taken a picture. I asked the people behind the counter what that nice hunk of pork was for and they said they make their Porchetta sandwich out of it. It is basically pork belly, loin, pork cracklings, salsa verde, seasoned arugula, caramelized onions, on a toasted ciabatta bun. Ohh boy! I ordered one immediately and got to watch them take that beautiful hunk of pork out of the rotisserie and slice off a nice end piece and watch the juices dribble out. I also ordered the home made potato salad which was also really good and unlike a typical store bought potato salad. This one had crumbs of bacon in it and eggs. My wife had the short rib beef melt and a side of fried cheesed curds with a side of dipping sauce made from Sriracha and mayo. The sandwiches were wonderful and mine had a really nice kick to it. My wife also loved the fried cheese curds. I would probably rate this higher than 4 stars but the price is a bit on the high side. 2 sandwiches, a small side of potato salad, side of cheese curds, and 1 soda was a little over $30.00 without the tip. We will come back and look forward to trying other menu items and possibly other restaurants at the LBX Hangar. read more

She should really consider looking for a job that would better suit her attitude. Our food sat there on the counter for at least 10 min. So it was luke warm but still tasty. The Kroft is one of the vendors here in the new Hangar that just opened recently. They specialize in poutine fries but also have some great sandwiches as well. We went with the Katsu Curry Fries and they were the bomb, probably some of the best fries I've had in a while. The Beef Dip was also very good. They have a location at the Anaheim packing district but the line is always long so I never got to try it. There was no line at all at LBX. They had a large list of different poutines that all sounded great. We got the loco moco one and I was not disappointed. When we got our order we were shocked there was so much food. We had already ordered something else at The Hangar and had no idea how we were gonna finish it. We ended up sharing it between 4 people. Came to the LBX Exchange for lunch and wanted to get some type of comfort food for the cooler weather. Always wanted to try a poutine dish and decided to give the Kroft a try. Went for the Braised beef poutine since the 3 customers in front of me ordered the same thing. The sandwich box the meal comes in was unassuming but the portion was quite healthy and heavy. The braised beef was soaked in flavor and was generously poured over the melted poutine chucks and crispy fries. Couldn't really tell if the cheese curds had any flavor as they where already melted and infused with beef drippings. Surprisingly the fries maintained their shape and each bite was well covered in meat, gravy and cheese. Wanted to keep eating but couldn't finish it all for lunch. Glad this place made the jump from the Packing House. Their poutine offerings are awesome, and I love the fried cheese curds covered in hot cheeto dust. It's so naughty but so good! And best of all are their sandwiches. The beef dip and Cuban are amazing in particular. Just thinking about them has me salivating right now! As for their poutine, I had the chicken curry katsu one and that worked surprisingly well. It was delicious!
