If there was an award for the SMALLEST calamari appetizer know to man; they would have it along with the $13 they charge for it. The plates look great when brought to the table but....... chicken Alfredo was very much over cooked and dry. We got a take out box to be nice and threw it away when we got home. And the catfish was nothing to write home about. The desert cakes were good and very large. However we basically came for a meal not desert. Thank goodness for this place! I look forward to coming to our lake house just to eat here. This may sound dumb, but being a food snob from MD, there isn't a thing I wouldn't suggest, besides the crabcake, of course. Hotyaki wings, twisted shrimp, spinach dip, burgers, cheesesteak, soup, and PRIME RIB, omg sooo good! Dessert is a MUST. Top 2, if not best, coconut cake I've ever had. Service is excellent as well. Tried to call in a to-go order.... Said they were too busy and not taking anymore to-go orders! They had 4 more hours until they closed!! Poorly managed & run!! If it wasn't the only place to eat on this side of the lake, no one would go there! The hostess is grumpy & mean, and the food ain't that great! 1) The food is delicious, don't get me wrong.., BUT they are acting like the COVID-19 pandemic doesn't exist. 2) Staff are not wearing masks or gloves 3) Customers are not required to wear masks 4) there are no signs stating that masks are required to be worn. 5) NO social distancing! Our party of 4 (all family) , was sat next to a party of 18, a party of 6, and another party of 2. 6) like come on!!! First impression: this is so cute! Picked this place as I was traveling north bound on I-95. The cute sunset pictures definitely persuaded me on stopping here. Did not disappoint! We accidentally missed the tucked away entrance (picture added for landmark for gate entrance then stay to the left on gravel road) if you pass KOA you went too far down. But all it took to find the place was a quick phone call and the sweet lady on the phone helped us out! We parked up front and walked up to the main entrance and noticed there were cats lounging. Since we had my dog we walked around to the back patio to avoid the cats and walking through the restaurant. Did I mention dog friendly (and I guess cat friendly too)!? Immediately brought Maggie (pictured) a water bowl (thank you!). Menu is nice and big but not overwhelming. Appetizers were corn nuggets (YUM) and calamari (S.O said they were good but for the price could give a little more or order 2 if you have a 2-3 party eating just that for appetizers) I ordered the smothered chicken dinner with sweet potato fries (and a super delicious cinnamon honey butter, like I brought some home) and the Mac n cheese which you really will want to have some more but perfect portion. My S.O had the Philly cheesesteak he recommends to ask for extra cheese (I guess it wasn't enough for his liking but honestly I wouldn't order a Philly cheesesteak in a delicious southern restaurant but hey! That's just me) he did love his "chips". They were home made and had the right crunch! (Stole a couple from him) YALL. My Arnold Palmer (sweet tea and lemonade) was SO good. Like yessss I know I'm in the south and someone that knows how to pour did they right ratio. This place was convenient to our camp site at KOA and we were able to walk over for our reservations at 5:30pm. We arrived early at 5:00 and they sat us as soon as we walked in. We were served drinks as soon as we were seated. Our waitress Katie was phenomenal. She was patient with the 8 in our party. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty. By the time we got our food the restaurant was almost full. Our food came out hot and superb! I ordered flounder fillets and they were perfect. The seasoning wasn't over bearing, they weren't overcooked. I highly recommend. The collard greens were seasoned well but I would have suggested that they be cooked longer. The greens weren't as tender as I like but they were good and I did eat them all. My bf ordered catfish fillets and mac and cheese. He said the same about his fish but he didn't like the mac and cheese because it was watery. Otherwise great food! For dessert, I ordered peach cobbler and he ordered fried Oreos. Both were large portions and delicious. I highly recommend this place! Will definitely come again! ALSO: Nowhere did we see that we'd receive free desserts for five star reviews. I actually looked. I could have missed it (I'm human) but there was no free ice cream. I gave 5 stars honestly. read more

The service was very good to excellent. I was a solo diner and there was supposedly no tables available so I was offered a bar seat or outside. Fair enough. Too cool for me to sit outside in shorts, I went to the bar. The bartender provided very attentive, very good to excellent service. The food and presentation was mediocre. The french fries were soft, not hot, and piled on top of my club sandwich. What, were they running out of plates? The club sandwich was tasty, excellent. The food took a little while to be brought out to me, but not an outrageous amount of time. To get to the place is confusing as it is adjacent to a campground. Kelli P was so patient making recommendations. My wife ordered the suggested crab cake sandwich which she deconstructed because it included TWO cakes and two fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese on the side. Thankfully she couldn't eat it all so I took one for the team and helped her out. Dear Lake House, What a lovely house you are. Great views and environment. And the food taste was five star. But you lost stars because I was a little confused by your cuisine. Why the fried green tomatoes in a basket with no plates? They were tasty (the largest part of the battle for most) but delivered to the table hot as lava in a basket. Like finger food that you need an ov-glove to eat. And the scallops, while tasty and cooked perfectly, were breaded and tiny-- not the typical dinner-sized scallops one expects at that price, not to mention the breading decision. The pork chop dinner was excellent. And the fast food pre-packed sauces seemed completely out of place. And raw fries are house made potato chips in the rest of the world and the wait staff couldn't really make that connection for us when ordering. The carrot cake was massive and legend. My son loves the sweet potato fries (not normally a sweet potato person at all) that come with a special cinnamon butter like dip. Must try a huge slice of fresh cake! There are so many choices ! I was very disappointed after hearing good things about them!!! I had hamburger steak with onions and mushroom gravy. I the medium I ordered order this quite often everywhere as it usually good. The steak came well done instead the mushroom and gravy were all burnt I fed it to all the stray cats that were there. There isn't enough room to report everything that was wrong.
